Okay so like I’m considering having Aaron with Janus-equivalent strength (minus the bonus strength Janus gets from being a juror) solely because I want to maladaptive daydream them having a 1v1 whilst I pace around my kitchen

anyway. bit of backstory below the cut. mega big spoilers ahead, as well as a cw/tw for graphic violence, animal death, and self harm.

aaron n melissa lycan r the children of the former lord of falconclaw, derek lycan. however, due to the majority of the village being able to trace their lineage back to shad the destroyer, the high priest of the cathedra of irene at the time (zane's predecessor) decided to wipe out the village to prevent shad from reincarnating. however, aaron was out on a solo hunting trip and melissa was in nahakra visiting a suitor, meaning that they were not in falconclaw when o'khasis marched on it.

aaron was the first of the siblings to return. when he came home to find that pretty much everyone he'd ever known and loved - his parents, his fiancee, his sister, his friends - had been brutally murdered at the hands of the city-state that was supposed to protect them, he... sort of lost it a little bit. a long-dead generational curse magick manifested in his eyes that caused anything within his line of site to get disintegrated; because he couldn't control it, he destroyed much of the village and the remains of his people. when he came to, he attempted to gouge out his eyes to prevent the same thing from happening, but when they regenerated, he resorted to repeatedly sewing them shut until he met an elf who gifted him a bandanna with runes that nullified the magick.

melissa returned to falconclaw after aaron had fled and found the village in ruins. assuming the worst - that she was the last survivor - she wallowed in her grief for months until she came across an old tome that promised of any wish granted so long as she approached a man with goat eyes. unbeknownst to her, this was the demon warlock, and when she asked him to bring her village back, he told her to sacrifice a living being as payment. melissa, who grew up in a hunting village, immediately set out to sacrifice the first animal she came across. unfortunately, this happened to be a wolf - and when menphia, patron goddess of wolves, discovered this, she cursed melissa with what came to be known as the 'ultima' curse. although werewolves had been around since... well, as long as anyone could remember - hells, melissa and aaron had grown up playing with the cubs of a nearby werewolf settlement - they were a separate species to humans, and humans could not be turned into werewolves (and vice versa). melissa's curse meant that she could turn humans into werewolves by merely looking at them - something that terrified her, and led to her fleeing ru'aun and travelling to tu'la.

the siblings don't reunite until aaron, along with aphmau and the main cast, travel to tu'la to retrieve menphia's relic. by this time, melissa has reunited with the werewolves that she and aaron grew up with - blaze, dottie, rylan, and daniel - and they have joined the anti-monarchy resistance with the goal of toppling the corrupt tu'lan nobility. both of the siblings have largely gotten their curses under control - aaron has stopped wearing his magicked bandanna, and melissa is able to go out in public and interact with humans without worrying about accidentally turning anyone. when they reunite in the catacombs below the capital city - well, let's just say that its abt as emotional as u would expect it to be when uve thought that ur sibling has been dead for the past ten-twenty years.

To be honest, I’m neutral on jess & jason as individuals, and as a couple, only because it feels like a lot of anti-jesson fanatics are looking for deep information on their personal lives outside of the mainstream media. It just feels too stalkerish and a bit creepy to psychoanalyze these content creators like that.

HOWEVERRRR I do agree with them about the workplace abuse allegations that you can easily find on glassdoor AND also twitter documents about the blujay studios twitter drama back in 2017 when jesson decided to randomly let go their longtime friends / co workers for whatever reason. And it all seems like this crazy verbal & emotional abuse is always linked back to the ceo of cat face which also happens to be jason….hmmm interesting.

not only that the multiple incidents of lazy writing of east asian culture, the romanticization of toxic couple tropes, and playing into the horrible narrative that an abused child should just forgive their abusers just for the sake of family. There’s so many small things that just piled up to the hot dumpster fire that was caused by those two or the people they decided to have on their team.

I think the day jesson stop trying to overly self-insert themselves onto their characters, and allow them to be their own people is the day the world goes back to normal again. Mys! Aaron lore went south so quick once the ultima arc was revealed (I KNOW ITS BEEN HINTED SINCE PDH S1) and it kinda just felt like a lazy way to excuse whatever abuse derek and rachel put aaron through. I can ramble more about the lycan fam lore as someone who adores each family member, while also hating their development as characters —but that would just overlapped with my previous intention writing this confession.

Description: The Children of the Deep Woods are an anomalous group of lycanthropes (werewolves) that live in a forest in North America, with a similar forest also appearing in the wilderness of Russia. While the group came to the Foundation's attention a little over a century ago, the group has operated since before clear records of time.

The group of interest is a religious one, worshipping a nature deity by the name of Fenrir Lycan, otherwise known as [REDACTED BY O5 COUNCIL]. On ██/██/20██ He appeared to put aside the differences of the Deep Woods and the Church of the High Moon, revealing that they were both worshipping him, albeit different aspects of him

Retrieval of flora and fauna from the Deep Woods for Foundation research is next to impossible, as the locals believe that all the plants and animals from the Deep Woods are created by their deity, and that its removal from the forest would be a major affront.

The Deep Woods began with the fall of their deity's pantheon at the hands of the Scarlet King, being some of the sole survivors from the massacre. They would form the Deep Woods to keep their deity alive through faith, and eventually spilled out, leading to rogue werewolves around the world, which eventually landed them on the Foundation's radar.

2/1/1958 - Leopold Kensington of the AWL is murdered by a werewolf. The werewolf becomes the first Spine Sentinel for defending the fauna of the DeepWoods.

5/14/1975 - The AWL murder a young girl of the Deep Woods. Fenrir Lycan appears. He turns the girl into a constellation

6/25/1988 - Fenrir Lycan appears, settling the feud.

4/██/198█ - Foundation meddles in politics to prevent the Deep Woods from being destroyed, instead getting it instated as a national park. The AWL attempts to mail bomb members of the Foundation publicly involved. Environmental Scientist Frida Jenkins is killed by one.

8/12/2000 - AWL member Wilma Rettenbocker is transformed, making her the first person to betray the AWL. A few days later, Jawbone is born.

5/15/2018 - Jawbone succeeds in his first vision without splitting into four individuals. It details a newfound pantheon.

█/██/202█ - Member of the Foundingverse, Aaron Siegel visits to experience his newly gained lycanthropy in a peaceful environment. A festival is held the same day. Siegel joins in the hunt as Duck leaves the next day with some wine and a pet bunny, Persimmon.

█/█/202█ - the AWL lead an attack on the Deep Woods. This fails, leading to the hunting party either dying or rapidly transforming into werewolves due to the special moon. The leader of the hunting group is lured into a church and eaten.

5/31/2022 - The AWL creates a camping spot, with the hopes of luring werewolves out to murder, using innocent humans as live bait.

How is Derek Lycan in the upside down mystreet? What are your headcanons for him?

You mean one of the most supportive dads ever?! Derek is super sweet to both of his kids. He often spends time with them whether that's going to a science fair or just playing video games with them. On some mornings he still packs his kid lunch if he has enough time before work much to his kids embarrassment.

That saying he still works a lot and is pretty busy so he doesn't spend as much time with his kids as he would like too. He also tends to worry a bit too much about Melissa since she was passed down the ultima curse. While he's not too smothering and lets her live her life, his extra attention on her often leaves Aaron feeling left out.

Okay, MCD Aaron, I have some feelings. Have some on Mystreet Aaron too, but this is for MCD Aaron only.

I’m just gonna give the warning that this is technically a “negative” post. I’d like to think I’m more critical than negative but just in case wanted to write this :)

Fun fact, Aaron is probably historically the character I’ve drawn the most. Which is strange, seeing as he never was my favorite in any capacity, and I had no personal attachment to him like some of the other characters. But just because I drew him so much in the past, doesn’t mean I still like him.

While rewatching most of season two recently, I realized that Aaron (to me) felt like a Garroth replacement and reading other people’s thoughts, Vylad. If this blog tells you anything about me, it’s that I love the Ro’meaves. And maybe that’s why I saw the similarities between Aaron and Garroth initially.

What I mean by “Aaron felt like Garroth’s replacement” here are where their stories feel very similar to me:

Both of them have a plotline revolving around a town, death, and hiding their identity. Garroth’s was because he faked his death to avoid marriage. To make sure no one found out, he hid his face. Aaron was the lord of Falcon Claw, in which his whole village was killed by Zane’s actions. Due to this, he covered his face and sealed his identity. Once realizing Aphmau is trustworthy, they both reveal their faces.

The possible romance of Garroth and Aphmau was pushed in season one. The possible romance of Aaron and Aphmau was pushed in season two.

Garroth and Aaron are both biological holders of divine relics. Granted with this factored in, it puts them in the position of rivals instead of filling the same role. But in the story of Irene, the position they rivaled for was that of Irene’s lover.

They both played a mystery figure too, due to that identification hiding. That point runs more into Aaron’s similarly with Vylad, another character who seals their identity and covers their face in the process with a link to lordship and death. Vylad though, a shadow knight and never in the line to actually be lord, puts him in a different category. Their similarities run through the sealing of identity due to what their identity is, and information.

Vylad from the moment of MCD’s existence played the mystery helpful figure. He covered his face and sealed his identity due to being Vylad Ro’meave, the “dead” illegitimate son of the Ro’meave family. He provided all sorts of info to the main group of characters, or gave them key things along the way.

Aaron did the same thing. He saved Aphmau from werewolves and left without saying a word. He provided valuable information to the group.

The thing about Aaron is that he felt unnecessary. The role he played was filled already, but the people in that role got pushed out of it to pull him into the forefront. Part of this is my own personal opinion though. Seeing as I love the dynamic of the Ro’meaves, I would rather have them fill their initial role instead of there being a new character.

I also feel like Aaron’s character, for someone who was a character (that was at least known of by the viewers) for about a season’s worth of episodes, had no development. I believe that to be how much he fills the role of two already known characters, so they thought he didn’t need that development because you could figure out his intentions already.

His relationship with Aphmau felt rushed, especially the romantic part. He can finally trust her and then all of a sudden she’s pregnant with his baby and he’s dead. Jess made a statement on how their relationship was mostly off screen due to “mature themes.” That did nothing but destroy Aaron’s possible development, as much of his development as a character and in a relationship with Aphmau happened off screen. That is why I believe Aarmau comes off as shocking and/or rushed. We never saw them grow together, unlike someone like Garroth and Aphmau.

Aaron never had a role special to him that makes him stand out in some capacity. He doesn’t even fit in the atmosphere of MCD, as his appearance is more modern urban while in a medieval fantasy world. He stylistically didn’t fit.

I personally feel if Garroth didn’t stay in the Irene Dimension and Vylad played a bigger role, Aaron would either find a different/new role or cease to exist. What role would he play? Not sure. But if Aaron was developed in a way that allowed him to be more unique, he could have been better suited for the story of MCD.

This is just unreal i dont deserve thissssss

I never thought i would reac this point. Back in 2017 when i started tumblr i had no idea it would get this far. I had no clue i would reach these kind of numbers. There are so many people who have stuck by me for so long and people and supported me all theough this journey to 400, which is an increadible, unbelievable number! I has no idea people would engage in my ocs, take an intrest in my art, request me to draw things, all those things I'd been wishing someone would do when i had no less than 20 followers. My arts been developing over the years and it feels so validating to finally feel like i have the availability to call myself a real artist. To feel like I'm up there with some of the other well-known jse artists, it makes me feel so included as part of the community. To any small tumblr blogs that are working on building a following, please, never give up on it. There were so many times i thought about giving uo on this whole tumbor art thing and ive always constantly compared myself to others, but reaching a point like this has shown me that there are no truue limits to what you van acheive, the recognition you can get, for not giiving up on syuff like this. It makes me so haooy that with this dollowing ill be able to give underrated artists the recognition they deserve through my blog and make people happy with me art.
