I still can’t believe there wasn’t a huge Oliver/Diggle following when the show first started. Especially considering m/m shipping was so much more popular in fandom back then. Now, granted, I started in season two when Olic*ty already had a big following and Canarrow was on the verge of getting back together, so maybe there was an Oliver/Diggle following and I just don’t know about it. But I feel like there couldn’t have been because slash ships don’t die like that. 

Sometimes I think about how different the show would have been if Diggle had been a random white man instead. Like, I’m pretty sure Olic*ty would not have been a thing, or at least not as big as it is now. Sometimes I think Arrow could have become SPN 2.0 if Oliver/Diggle had gained traction so early on. 

 The Oliver/Diggle versus even the Oliver/Tommy stuff is also very telling. Like, Tommy has been dead for five years now and people are still writing Oliver/Tommy over Oliver/Diggle. 

As a sidenote: I stopped seeing the Oliver/Barry appeal after, like, the first season. Like, it was cute in the beginning, but they barely see each other and barely acknowledge each other when they’re on their respective shows. I’m pretty sure Felicity gets more Flash mentions than Oliver? And now every time there’s a crossover and they show Oliver and Barry being super close it feels forced and lame and I’m so over it. 

Don’t even get me started on the 2016 crossover when Oliver chose to side with Barry over a Diggle who had just found out his daughter had been erased by Barry, because that was some fucking bullshit and I’m still mad about it.

I've been rewatching some dctv stuff from this last season and I have come to the decision that I don't want Ollie crossing over onto anymore shows because they always get him so fucking wrong. Yeah, okay, Legends 1.06 was good but the recent stuff? You really expect me to believe that Oliver would leave Sara and Ray and a bunch of innocent people he at least knows of in the hands of some random historian he just met and a villain he physically assaults? What? And THEN you expect me to believe that Oliver would stay behind from a mission because Barry's feelings are hurt and he doesn't wanna go? (Seriously. It's Barry who says he's gonna stay back. No one else.) Oliver is gonna abandon Sara and Diggle and THEA and also the fucking president because a dude he sees once every six months is sad? Literally what? Just, please, stop. That's not Oliver. Just leave him on Arrow because that's apparently the only time you can remember his character.

Oliver's character is always fucked up in crossovers. like, how the fuck do you expect me to think he would pick Barty Smellen over Diggle and Sara and Thea???? he doesn't even talk to the guy for 80% of the year but yeah he's gonna put him above the people who have been loyal to him for the past five, ten, twenty years????? okay, sure

Roy and Diggle got to wear Arrow shit but Wally, who is supposed to be Flash, has to keep wearing KF shit when Barry is dead? What kinda fucking bullshit is this?
