R.I.P Irffan Khan and Rishi Kapoor.
These 24 hours might be one of the saddest 24 hrs in the history of Bollywood. The loss of both the legendary actors, Irffan Khan and Rishi Kapoor was sad and it some where felt like a personal loss to everyone.
But like, why does this feel so personal?
Most of us never even met them in person and never really talked to them. We just saw them on big screen, or in interviews. But still this felt personal. Losing them. Even when we arent even related to them personally.
If we see, bollywood and films, its been more than just cinema and acting. Movies have been a part of our life. There is a movie associated and attached to almost every age of our life and most of the situations. From the dialogues to the songs, its all in our heart. We have a song for the first love to the first heart break. We have a song for our parents and another for our friends. We have memories associated with films. Movies have become a part of us. The dialogues are within us, embedded on our heart. The dialogues we used to troll our friends, the dialogues we said to our crush, the whole Bollywood is not just movies, but its whats make us feel different in all this busy life and helps us escape the hustle and stress we have in our daily livelihood.
All these films we play dumb charades with to all the songs we play antakshri with, all these are attached to us. take them out of us and we lose something of us. Take that fiction out of us and we lose some part of us.
In this world with problems and struggles we face, cinema gives us a break. At the end, this cinema gives us hope, it keeps us going somewhere or the other , telling us anything is possible, there is space for dream, there can be happy endings.
And both Irffan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, they excelled in how they portrayed it. The way they showed us every emotion just like the way they are. Without over exaggerating. They showed us the real faces in this unrealistic fiction universe. We saw two people portraying characters which were just like us, just like normal humans, in a universe of imagination. They didn't just act and earned, they portrayed real people. They were the ones who made us think for those 2 hours when a film is played, that whats going on in the film, is real. They gave us someone to relate to. Someone with no super powers, no extra ordinary ability or talents. But just someone like a common regular man. A common human. Just like the people we see around us. In real life.
So, in those 24hrs when we lost them, we didnt just lost 2 actors, we lost that part of our life. We lost that little hope at the end of every film. We lost a part of ourself, cause a part of ourself is Bollywood, and they were a part of that universe. The part, which we believed in.
So, where ever they both are. They are still stitched to us. In those memories they gave us, without even meeting us. In a those songs, in all those movies, in all those films, which won't and cant die.

To friend ...
It was 2014
When I joined here
My first ever company
N during trainings
I found SM1..you😂
Never thought we could be friends
But somehow we became
You...my first friend of my first ever job
My training mate
Colleague...team member of synergy
Washroom partner
Bus wala gossips ...do u remember
My all chapad chapad used to make ur mornings bad
But u never said ...chup Kar na yar😂
N Kaushal Ka last day ...
Someone who wiped my tears
When in between we were into different teams
Still connected
How I can forget our antakshri on Skype
N jabra wale calls
My happiness was doubled when I got to know we both were in TCOE
Laga tha in btwn things I have missed ..or something has changed
But destiny has different plans for us
Night shifts ugly selfies
Late night talks
Talks about our problems
Smiling together
Laughing together
N den crying together
Night shift together
Home drop together
Going washroom together
Lunch dinner together
Shifts together
Email writing together
Shopping together
Ordering things together
Canada plans together
sitting next to each other
Keeping seat for me
So that I can sit next to you
U know what I l miss more in new job
That u r not next to me
My daily routine
Aake bhi wait karo so we can go to washroom
Nai toh laptop k liye wait ...C's its in your drawer
Filling transport roaster
Giving each other reminder
N din Bhar ki batein
Ghar Ka Rona dhona
Boyfriend ki bitching
Kabhi bohot Sara pyar
Crush ke nam se tuze chidhana
Brk timings
Din Bhar teko pakana
Tere pe chance marna
Advices n opinions
To whom I am gonna ask those bakwass questions
Jo dimag me ate h
Whose gonna pass me bottle when I am crying
With whom I l gonna walk
Tera bhi loss h bacchu
No1 is gonna bring modak for you n Dal rice every month omlett too
Tiffin khalena acchese
Without nautanki
Thanks for evrything
N take care of yourself
I am not there to take care of you !!

Bhagyashree on son Abhimanyu Dassani: Didn't see my own film in theatres, now, living the excitement !
Bhagyashree on son Abhimanyu Dassani: Didn't see my own film in theatres, now, living the excitement !
Roshmila Bhattacharya | March 18th 2019
Maine Pyar Kiya girl Bhagyashree and son Abhimanyu Dassani talk about the pain and pleasures of showbiz...
Bhagyashree points out that kids today are more professional and knowledgeable. “Sooraj ji (Barjatya, director), Salman (Khan) and I were so raw, but got our shots done in two takes max,” she reminisces, revealing how during the Antakshri shoot, Salman had slipped on the stairs and she burst into spontaneous laughter and a “hota hai hota hai” caught Sooraj’s eye and found its way into the film.
Has Salman seen Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota? “Not yet, but the other day, he called out to me, saying he’d heard I’d done an amazing job and if he’d have to come to my house to see the film. The 300 people around him didn’t recognise me and wondered about me,” Abhimanyu hoots while his mom recalls how during the shooting of “Dil Deewana” Salman had learnt about her secret romance with Himalaya and ragged her endlessly. “At our wedding, Sooraj ji and Salman were my family and stayed till the end.”

I see a lot of Americans supporting Trevor Noah on Twitter about his dumb joke about India & Pakistan going to war. Telling us not to be offended and it’s not a racist joke. No it’s not. But people in the USA don’t understand - that cultural/political dissonance excellently portrayed by Trevor dumb joke - is that many Muslims in India will face the ire of misplaced nationalists during the war (kinda like your white supremacists) and HINDUs (a very minuscule minority) in Pakistan will face equal danger.
So no, a lot of Indians and Pakistanis ‘did not get the joke’.
Also, which 2nd or 3rd generation Indian-American wrote that joke? Or did some white dude just flick through some terrible Hindi films and then decide this was the least offensive joke? Because honestly, that joke fails even there coz Pakistanis LOVE BOLLYWOOD FILMS and half the revenue comes from there. So what? Both armies are going to have an antakshri? Like if he’d actually used that word and had gone that route I think a lot of us would’ve laughed. Antakshris can get quite intense.
A lot of Hindi film actors have big fan followings and their own ‘clubs’ there. So yeah, that joke was about culturally genuine to Indians or Pakistanis as Indian Chinese cuisine is.
#trevor noah#It's not even about the joke as realising that Americans don't look further than Bollywood films#to understand that Hindi films aren't all that popular in the South unless they're dubbed in the regional languages#Can Trevor Noah joke about 9/11? No I thought not
