The last two days have been rough. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on a rollercoaster of emotions this big in this short of a timespan. I miss my friend...and I never really “met” her. This fandom is amazing...even when we’re disagreeing on things. It brings people together in the most unique ways and for that, I will forever be grateful. Treasure the moments you have with those you care about.

This morning I was feeling very emotional...and questioning if I even wanted to post my stories today. My very, VERY wise friend told me this: 

“I think the best way we can honor our friends and family who pass on is to keep living, thriving and making the most of every moment we have, just like they would tell us to if they were still here. It's okay to feel joy because we know that is what they would want for us. It's okay to be really sad and still be happy at the same time even when it's confusing. And all of that being said it's perfectly okay when we can't live that way, too, and need time to grieve and this is a safe space for that. I think in this particular case, she's cheering you on and making a t-shirt in heaven that says Keep Calm and Fanfic On.”

Don’t You Ever Forget It: Part 2

At night, in Mystic Jungle…

    Infinite bounded from illuminated pillar to illuminated pillar, his crimson colored blade in hand. He wore an expression of determined rage. A familiar voice came through a black earpiece he wore. 

    “Hey, you!”

    Despite the tone that was coming through the radio, the jackal ignored it, landing on the ground before leaping onto another pedestal. 

    “I know you can hear me! Your squad was useless! Go clean up their mess already!”

    The demanding voice of Doctor Eggman shouted at the jackal once more. He looked around the area, spotting a black hedgehog with red stripes on their quills wearing rocket skates and gloves with golden rings on their wrist. They were hiding behind an obelisk. 

    “Shut your trap.” Infinite sternly retorted back. “I know what happened to my squad, and I have him right in my sights, so do me a favor and shut it.” The hedgehog turned around to see the jackal shouting into his earpiece, scoffing.

    “What a pathetic attempt at an ambush… still, I’ll play along.” He quietly mumbled to himself, turning back around as if the wolf were never there.

    “You’re telling ME to quiet?! I’ll send ten hundred missiles your way just because I can if you don’t get back in line!”

    The scientist threatened. The prairie wolf let out an annoyed huffed in response, realizing that he was talking to the same man who attempted to bring down Station Square with him. 

    “Fine. I’ll get back to doing my job.” He mumbled, setting his eyes on the ‘unaware’ hedgehog. Infinite got his blade at the ready, soaring into the air by jumping off of the pillar. His eyes flashed blue and yellow and his blade glistened a maroon color. “I’ll show you why they call me the ultimate mercenary!” Infinite shouted. As he came down, however, the hedgehog suddenly disappeared from place. Before he even knew it, he was kicked to the side of a pillar. The wolf crashed into it, falling onto the ground. When he impacted against the pedestal, he let go of his blade as it was sent flying. Infinite let out a howl of pain, clenching his body as the hedgehog slowly approached him.

    “Your ambush was sloppy.” Shadow calmly spoke, the jackal struggling to stand back up, his body quaking.

    “Hff… so… this is it then, huh?...” He asked, placing another hand on the pillar he was in front of. “Haah…” Infinite grunted, huffing. 

    “No.” Shadow bluntly responded, crossing his arms. He was met with a look of confusion and anger from the wolf, yet the Ultimate Lifeform did not change his calm exterior.

    “Wh… What?” He questioned, baffled. “But you.. gff… took out my squad…” 

    “I didn’t kill them. I only beat them.” The hedgehog answered, looking away from the shaking wolf. “After I fought them, I left. Where they are right now is none of my business. But what is my business is my mission.” He turned back to Infinite. “I will only say this once: do not get in my way again.” Shadow concluded, proceeding to slowly walk off. Infinite stared at the hedgehog in frustration and anger, limping over to his blade. He reached out for it and planned to throw it at Shadow while his back was turned. However, he pulled his hand back. He knew that if Shadow wasn’t kidding, he wouldn’t be comfortable with the outcome. With the Ultimate Lifeform gone, Infinite was left to himself to think.

    “I… I never lost… that badly before…” Infinite mumbled to himself, slowly gathering up the strength to walk normally again. “What does this… mean though?...” He looked at his palms, noticing that he was quaking with… something. “Was he just stronger, or…” Infinite paused, shaking his head. “...No… no, you’re not weak… you’re not weak… you’ve claimed all those bounties before… you’re strong… I’m not weak…” He reassured himself, clenching his fists before picking up his blade. “Come on… get up… let’s go find everyone else, okay?...” The jackal began to walk away from the site of the encounter. Infinite used his blade to cut down plants that stood in his way, searching the place. “Still… what went wrong that time?...” He asked himself. As he went through the jungle, he located less than reassuring signs. Grass was charred, rubble was on the ground and even a few trees were knocked over. Despite how much Infinite searched, he couldn’t find results. He knew they weren’t dead. Shadow told him so. But wherever they were, he didn’t know. Nobody did. Gripping his hands, he shoved his sword into the ground, letting out a frustrated scream before sniffling, holding back his tears. “I failed my squad twice in four days… I had my reputation dishonored by a singular defeat…” It sounded like the words were being choked out of him. “What am I gonna be now, other than Eggman’s lab rat?...” He placed his back against a nearby tree, quietly whimpering and clenching his fists. Infinite continued to think through the situation as he was left, devastated. He believed he would no longer be able to listen to their words of encouragement. No longer helping them strengthen themselves, physically or mentally. The more he thought about the situation, however, the angrier he got. He felt a slowly growing malice towards Shadow, which only evolved further into a desire for vengeance. He didn’t just want him defeated. He wanted the hedgehog humiliated the same way he had been shamed this week. Infinite pulled out his blade out of the ground, and in an act frustration, leveled a tree. He let out an angry scream as he did so. “Shadow The Hedgehog… I don’t know where you are right now, but you had better pray to whatever God you believe in that you never see my face or hear my name again, because if I ever find you, I WILL end you. I will make you suffer a defeat thousand folds worse than the beating you gave me here. I will prove to you that I am not weak.” The jackal vowed to himself, storming off into the darkness of the jungle.

Author’s Note: Hello everyone. Part 2 of 3 for Don’t You Ever Forget It is here. A reimagining of the notorious scene where Infinite screams about being weak. I tried painting it as something more somber than ‘grr grrr no weak’, which I’m certain every Infinite fan is upset about. Not a lot to comment here aside from I’m happy about the way it came out. I’m hoping you guys enjoyed this read as much as I did writing it and I will see you all next time. See ya.

Favorite Series: Anyone who’s spent any length of time with me knows that the answer will always be Arc-V gfhjbjsk The animation is flawless (when it wants to be hdjsksf), the OP, ED, and OSTs are all On Point, the plot is amazing, the voice acting, the ChArAcHtErS!!!!! The decks!!! The duels!!!! This is the first YGO! series that have actually had me invested in their duels all the way through!!

It’s also the only YGO! series besides 0+DM that entertains me the most, lore and story wise. :)

Favorite Protagonist: Yuya!!!! He’s so baby and I just want to see him happy!!! But also seeing him suffer gives me Life.

I’m just a sucker for smiley characters that have.... shall we say, trouble with masks..

Favorite Rival: A tough question for sure! Objectively, I’d choose Reiji Akaba, because, well, he starts out as a pro with all summoning methods down pat already and doesn’t actually lose to Yuya until the very end. I’d like to think, that, although Yuya sees him as a sorta dick in the beginning, he would strive to be as good a duelist as him, especially with how Reiji managed to captivate an audience.

(Seto also has one of the most interesting backstories in all of YGO! ngl...)

Now, emotionally? I’d have to choose the Zexal boys. I feel so much for Kaito, and Shark.... I’m such a sucker for protective older brothers okay? Reincarnation also helps my choice 👀

(That said, who can resist Jun Manjoume bringing the Thunder?)

Favorite BFF: Hhhhhhhh Why must I Choose? 

Listen, all the Besties are so Good and Wholesome ;A; And I know this is totally biased but I’mma have to say Noboru Gongenzaka >.< He’s so protective of his friends and so attentive to them! I also really love how straightforward he is, it’s a trait I can get behind.

(As a close second, it would be Johan Anderson 👀)

Favorite GFF: Potential wise, Aki Izayoi was very interesting! However,,, 

I’d have to pick Mana and Yuzu, purely because they had the most involvement in their respective stories imo. Don’t get me wrong, I love their characters and how they bounce off their protags, but it felt like they had real agency compared to some of the others.

I also simply don’t know enough about Asuka, Kotori, or Aoi to have many opinions about them. (I’m not really a fan of Anzu either tbh.)

(I know this question is in regards to the protag’s girl bestie but my favorite girl character will forever be Yuya’s mom!! She’s so fucking badass, ja? Very Fruits Basket of her.

Droite also has my fav character design of the girls!)

Favorite Villain: Ah.

Again my bias shows because I love good guys gone bad. Yubel (and Haou) and Zarc (and the Yuubois) are my favorite villains... >.>

Number 96 and Vector also get special mentions here! (Diva has one of my fav designs tho.)

All that aside, Abidos though 👀 The best one shot villain 👌👌👌👌

The reasons why I like all of these episodes the most are probably obvious, and in somewhat of a pattern..  And I haven’t watched SEVENS yet XP

Favorite Decks to Use: Okay, so. The thing is, I’d always really liked Spellcasters and thought they were all I was gonna use. I wasn’t really a big fan of Warriors, or Dragons, or anything else really. It doesn’t help that Spellcasters are one of the most popular and diverse types in Duel monsters. However.

Arc-V’s themes for deck archetypes really got me into a bunch of other types of monsters and decks. I’d never really ever been interested in the actual game before, aside form what was relevant to plot or lore. But Arc-V has decks based on circuses, actors, singers, idols, toys, plushies- well, you can see where I’m going with this.

Now (,again with my bias,) I Adore Yuya’s deck! It has Spellcasters!!! It has cute animals!!! It follows a circus theme!!!!! One thing I Did Not see, was me liking the Dimensional Dragon archetype as much as I did! You can ask any of my friends that I play Duel Monsters against lolol, a modified Dimensional Dragons and Spellcasters Pendulum deck is my primary go to.

Another thing I didn’t foresee was taking to Pendulum quite so much! It’s so versatile!!! All my decks have at least one of each type of summoning method in it, because Pendulum makes it more possible. (Keep in mind this is pre-links I’m talking about here.) My main deck, which I fondly call “Odd-Eyes Magic”, even has Ritual monsters in it! I do use Xys the most after Pendulums I guess tho.

In order of how much I use each summoning method: Pendulum, Xyz, Sycnhro, Ritual, Fusion, and I’ve never Link summoned or rush dueled before vbdjbvdsk

How come that jack falahee who actually plays a main gay character and is a true lgbtqia ally is a 'no importance gay for pay' here while dylan 'erase sterek video from his twitter, vetoed sterek question at gff, told the girl who shout derek to shut up, pretend sterek doesn't exist' is a saint and a true ally?

I redacted part of this ask because they were just really antagonizing towards me and made me not want to answer the question at all.  But I did want to address this so here we go. 

I get the cause of the hurt!Stereks, I really do.  I see y’all go off on Twitter constantly and for the most part, even if I don’t agree, even if I don’t like the tactics, I still support your right to say and do what you want. 

Now, I’m not going to deal with the Falahee thing at all.  For this nonnie he’s completely inconsequential.  They just wanted someone (anyone) that had a passing connection with the gays so they could drag Dylls, I get it, but I’m not going to waste more time talking about why he’s messy.  This is about  Dylan and the angry Stereks and the difference between the twitter crew and this ask is that the twitter crew has deets and receipts and actual legitimate facts 

Dylan being told to take down a sterek video has more to do with why he doesn’t tweet much personal stuff anymore than it does his feelings of Sterek.  There was no veto of Sterek q’s at Giffoni and that was confirmed and he even acknowledged when someone said Derek from the crowd.  He’s never told a fan to shut up about Derek and he’s never pretended Sterek doesn’t exist even going so far as to say “the fans think we don’t like it, but we do” in response to the show growing cold on the ship.  In fact, the most homophobic thing he did was completely at the hands of the show in that clean up article after Poseygate. And that’s a mess we acknowledge all the time.

You can come after Dylan for a lot of things, but he’s always been inclusive and he’s always been protective and considerate of anyone around him since he was a young boy.  Trust me though, this show has plenty of actual receipts, there’s no need to make up things just to boost your point.

Can I write a pairing for your event that is only half Slytherin? The main POV is a Slytherin but there's a non-Slytherin in the main tagged ship. I'm signed up and all that just finally getting around to writing and want to make sure. :)

I know with our last fest (Silver Trio Fest), we were much more strict and only allowed ships where both or more characters were Slytherin.

But not this time!

For Gothic Fantasy Fest, any ship or pairing with at least one Slytherin in it, is allowed.
