Here's the thing. The last thing I want to be doing at 11pm at night is getting on a flight to Arkansas. The reason why makes my heart hurt so bad. I'm not the only one in this airport that's living a story. While waiting to board I saw the cutest (and super tired) toddler. I think the last thing she wanted to do was get on this plane too. And mom looked like she agreed. I don't know these people. We're in a global pandemic. And again, it's 11pm on a Friday night in Atlanta International. I walked up and asked if she needed help. I saw a weight lift off of her. She said yes. The little girl gladly came to me and I got her giggling and playing soon. I'm no Mary Poppins, but I just did Europe with 7 under 7! I flew 24 hours with 10 month old twins. If you know me, you know kids are my thing! This mom was traveling because Ida displaced her. I asked if she wanted a hug. She cried. I cried. The baby just ran her finger across my tattoo. I got cute little baby cuddles tonight. I needed cute little baby cuddles tonight. That mom needed help. She needed a 2 second break in the chaos of the world breaking down around her. We all need a break right about now. We all need to remember kindness. Compassion. Grace. Love. Hope. It's suicide prevention awareness week and the theme this year is #anotherdaywithyou I've been begging all day for just one more day for a completely unrelated reason, but the theme still resonates. I want another day with you. I want another day to see what happens next. I want another day to see all my littles grow up. I want another day to change the world.
