It's not that Scar and Cub are disloyal members of the Royal Court. They just think they'd do a better job if they were in charge.

Let Him Eat Cake

The King's throne had been enlarged, enough for Cub and Scar to sprawl over it, gazing out at the throne room before them. Ren wasn't around. Not that it would matter if he was. They knew this was where they rightfully belonged.

"You know what this throne room needs, Scar?" Cub mused.

"Oh, I can think of a few things, Cub. What are you thinking of?" Scar said.

"Cake. There is a serious lack of cake in this throne room," Cub said.

Scar nodded. "You're so right there. We need cake! How can we have a throne room without cake! But, wait. Why would we give him cake?"

"Well, you let me set a trap under one, and, well. There's a large vault under our feet. I'm sure it won't take us long to alleviate him of the tiny crown," Cub said.

"Oh, so we make a feast! Yeah! I'll bring some of my cookies! He'll love it! He won't be able to resist those," Scar said excitedly.

Cub laughed. "Feel free to lace them with something if you want. I mean, we're not trying to kill him, of course. Just, well. Weaken him. You know what I mean."

Scar did know what he meant. "No, I know. Don't worry. And once he gives us the crown, then we will be kings! Co-rulers! Yeah! We'll show them what the ConVex can do with power."

"I mean, we could be kings, but why be kings, when we can be gods? Maybe I'll bring the Pharaoh back, baby. Be the Sun God Himself. And you, Scar, can be my moon. Together, we'll be unstoppable," Cub said, shifting to face him.

"Moon and sun, hey? Yeah! I like that!" Scar said, taking Cub's hands. "And all we gotta do, is get Ren some cookies."

"We'll dethrone him with cake. I'm sure he'll love that," Cub said.

Scar touched his cheek softly and kissed him. Oh, the Vex magic was flowing strongly now. Cub's eyes were glowing, and Scar could taste honey on his lips.

"All hail the Pharaoh!" Scar said.

"All hail the gods," Cub said.

How would the families of the TWST boys react to the partner Pokemon of the Heartslabyul quintet, Savanaclaw trio, Octavinelle trio, Scarabia duo, Pomefiore trio, Ignihyde duo and Diasomnia quartet?

Riddle's mom might not approve because she thinks pets are a waste of time. But Riddle would learn from Azul a bit, just a bit, and lie that the exceptional students are given a familiar to help their image. That got his mom to change her opinion quickly.

Ace's family would fawn over the fire puppy, it was just so warm and fluffy, also a good boy who guards the house against intruders. There may be times Growlithe gets cheeky and pranks both brothers while pretending to cry to the mom who scolds her sons.

Deuce's mom would absolutely adore the Togepi, whenever Deuce ran errands with his mom and some people ask what was he carrying in his chest carrier and Deuce goes "My child!" and Ms. Spade plays along with it.

Trey's family would absolutely make Alcremie their mascot. The store sign is getting an upgrade and Alcremie themed desserts are gonna line the cake shelves. His sibling might unintentionally try to dab their finger on the Pokemon cause its made of cream. Trey has to remind them gently that Alcremie has personal space.

Cater's sisters would be gushing over Wynaut at first until it started to act so confused with what they were doing that they lose interest. Turns out Wynaut does this on purpose cause Cater is the only one who gets to see it active.

Leona brings his meowth home and immediately acts like a lil turd to those who whisper nasty rumors behind his back. Meowth may sass Leona from time to time but they ain't taking no disrespect for their trainer. Cheka's attention now goes to Meowth who handles the cub with the patience of a saint.

Ruggie is already using his little friend to help around the neighborhood. The kids know Murkrow, the neighbors know Murkrow. Granny Bucchi? She's already considered it a grandchild. Everyone has Murkrow's back and if some cheeky guy tries to pick on it by throwing rocks, they'll be hounded by the hyena fam.

Jack brought home his Maractus and his siblings were in awe of a living cactus. Maractus likes to sway from their wolf tails and ride on them like on would do to a blanket being dragged on the floor.

Azul showed his parents his new familiar and his mom is reminded of baby Azul. Clobbopus is gonna be the new baby of the household. And if Azul's old bullies try anything with him, Clobbopus gonna throw these hands and smack away.

The leech twins brought their Pokemon to their home, Foongus was placed in a bubble spell to keep it from drowning. Their dad was expecting them to get a dangerous-looking familiar but they came home with a derpy axolotl and a mushroom. He can't argue with his sons though. Mama Leech making sure their Pokemon feel comfortable at home. Maybe even made a room with an air pocket so that Foongus and Wooper don't have to worry about air.

Kalim's family would frighten Sunkern since there were so many strangers trying to pet it. Kalim for once gently scolds his siblings that they shouldn't rush towards Sunkern and if they want to play with him they have to promise to be gentle with him. His father was surprised but he thinks it was alright because his son is learning to set boundaries and be responsible.

Jamil's sister would find Natu so adorable and would borrow it for selfies and tell all her friends about her brother's cute parrot thing. Natu would disappear on her when she wants another selfy and Najma would pout when she sees the pokemon perched on her brother's shoulder. Jamil just smugly grins at her.

Vil's father would approve of Snom. Despite that his fans would think he'd get a pretty familiar, they'd grow to like Snom right away. Those beady eyes were so irresistible. The moment it evolves into a Frosmoth, his fans would fawn over it.

Rook's family would admire the beautiful plumage on Braviary. When the two go hunting, they have a bit of competition between each other on who can catch the biggest animal they can hunt. It's always a draw.

Epel's family thought that he got an apple from one of his classmates and it was really big. But to their surprise, it was a small dragon in the apple. Flapple would want to show off by lifting up the heavy tools with ease and helping sort quality apples. The Felmier family openly appreciates Flapple. Granny Felmier even made a nice little hat and scarf for her grandson's familiar.

Idia and Ortho wouldn't want the STYX to treat their Pokemon like the subjects they experiment on. So, they mostly keep them close whenever they get home. The Pokemon are the only ones who can provide them with temporary relief from this organization.

Malleus returns home with Vanillite and the fae servants were confused because why isn't their master finishing that ice cream- oh wait, it has a face... Some of the fae would be a bit shocked to see this kind of familiar that was given to their prince. Some might ask if they didn't let him pick one more suited to his image.

Malleus just waves them off by saying he specifically wanted this creature. Vanillite gets a very pampered home life.

Lilia wants to celebrate getting their Pokemon by making some dinner, Silver does the old, "Look what's that?" trick on Lilia as he and Teddiursa stuff Gulpin's maw with their portions. Gulpin is just happy to be fed.

Sebek is proudly showing his parents his new familiar who is currently mimicking his pose as he speaks. Mama Zigvolt is cooing at the little fairy bug while Papa Zigvolt is genuinely curious about what kind of familiar it was. Ribombee actually aiding his father in dental checkups is the cutest image ever.

No one had seen Grian in three weeks.

Normally, it wouldn't be too surprising for people to be quiet for a while. Everyone working on their own projects and maybe not in the right area to see the person in question.

But something was different with this case. The player list said that Grian was online, not AFK, so not outside the server in the community hub or working on a different project on his channel. In this case, SOMEONE would normally at least see him restocking his traveling-cart-that-never-travels, or flying around his base wasting rockets, or at the very least bothering Mumbo Jumbo, his closest neighbor.

Mumbo himself had not been too worried at first. When it had been a couple days since Grian has visited he had sent a letter though their mail system to make sure that 1. The mail system might actually be used and 2. Make sure Grian was alright. Not twenty minutes later Grian had responded that he was fine, just busy at his base.

The next red flag was when Zedaph realized that the only reason his Quartz, Warts, and Shorts shop was making sales was because Grian's cheaper traveling cart next door hadn't been restocked in weeks. While at first he was a little miffed at this fact, this started to get him worried. Grian was normally fairly good about restocking his cart, sometimes with his own supplies instead of getting extra, even if not shown on camera he still made sales. With the mining desert and gravel pit nearly out of both materials, people had started regularly going to Grian's shop, hoping for more of those grindy blocks in which he specialized.

When Iskall had private messaged Grian asking if he wanted to help prank DocM for the heck of it, Grian had declined, saying that he had been grinding blaze powder in the Nether. This has confused Iskall. Why did Grian need blaze powder? The only thing it was good for was eyes of Ender and potions. They had already beat the dragon and turned the End into a farm for shulkers and elytra, so needing eyes of Enders was off the list. But why did Grian need potions? Iskall has assumed a prank and asked if Grian wanted help with other potion ingredients, but he had declined in a rather cold "no," saying that the strawberry blonde didn't need any more stress right now.

It wasn't until someone not even on the Hermitcraft server, PearlescentMoon, messaged someone she knew was in the server to check on Grian, as he hadn't posted anything online in nearly three weeks, and hadn't given any explanation to where he may have gone.

When Iskall finally heard that he had called Mumbo, Xisuma, and False, hoping that maybe one of them could help.

"Heeeeyy Iskall!" X greeted as he swooped I'm in front of Grian's cart, where Iskall has thought to ironically meet because it was in the middle of the shopping district and an easy place to meet, not actually because they were here to talk about Grian.

"What's up?" False asked, using an ender pearl to warp into the side of the cart and bouncing off casually.

"Show off," Iskall muttered, recognizing the subtle PVP tactics. False grinned but before she could retort, Mumbo landed with a little stumble, grumbling about lag and elytra not working properly still.

"Hey Mumbo!" Iskall greeted cheerfully. Mumbo nodded silently as the others waved.

"Why have you called us, Iskall?" X asked curiously.

"Right, right," the Swede started, glancing around the small group, "now that we're all here, I'm going to get straight to the point. Has anyone seen Grian recently?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"I've been by his base a couple of times, but he's never there. He's replied to my texts at least, but hasn't shown up around my base in a while," Mumbo immediately recalled with a frown.

Xisuma was on his phone, a tool that everyone had for chat, inventory, surfing the web outside the server, everything. "It says he's online," he noted, turning the screen the other way and showing the online player list.

"He's been online for weeks," False informed, "Every time I've looked he's been on anyway."

"And yet no one has seen him? I was hoping that maybe you had seen him on another part of the server, like your fantasy district, False." Iskall sighed. The blonde girl shook her head.

"I think we should check on him. This usually isn't like him," X decided, prepping a rocket.

"I was wondering if there might be a glitch somewhere, and that's why he's been so weird. That's why I called you, X," Iskall explained as he took out a stack of rockets from his backpack.

"And I'm here because I'm closest to him I'm assuming, not because of my redstone or that I'm a spoon," Mumbo sighed jokingly. Everyone got a quick laugh out of that before Iskall patted Mumbo's back rather hard, making him stumble, before they all took off over the shoulder of the Statue of Hermity.

Within minutes the group was circling the massive tower in the middle of the ocean, an insane project for the newest member of Hermitcraft.

"See anything?" False called to anyone nearby.

"Nothing! Looks empty to me!" X replied.

Iskall blasted out of the bottom floor entrances. "The towers are mob traps, don't go in there!" he screeched, sounding thoroughly spooked.

"What about the basement? Or the upper floors?" Mumbo asked.

"He has a basement?" False questioned.

Iskall nodded. "I'll check there. False, want to come with? Mumbo and X, you go check upstairs. Sound good?"

With a quick confirmation from everyone, the pairs split to search the futuristic wedding cake.

Iskall had been down to the basement a few times before, if only in the first few weeks of Hermitcraft Season 6 when Grian actually USED his basement. There were chests down there that were collecting dust, and some poor cows trapped in a nano farm the NHO apparently never discovered.

"Oh my gosh, Iskall! Look at this!" False called from somewhere ahead.

"Coming!" Iskall replied and tried to find where False had gone off to.

He skidded to a halt when he found her on the edge of an opening in the shoddy basement, facing a massive opening in the rock.

"Woah," Iskall breathed. The cave was huge and clearly manmade, and the Swede wondered how long it must have taken for Grian to dig and terraform and decorate the cavern.

No to mention the large egg-shaped build floating in the air in the center of the cave.

"I think we found Poultry Man," False smirked.

"So calling G our on it when we find him," Iskall laughed. Then both his and False's phone buzzed.

"Let's go then!" False cheered.

They shot out of the bubble columns through the body of water underneath Grian's base and launched through the holes in the middle of each layer to the top.

"Too far guys!" Mumbo's voice called as they flew through the top layer.

"Oops!" Iskall chuckled.

"Coming right back down!" False called and they two glided into the smallest layer.

Xisuma and Mumbo were inside a vibrant garden that was in the top layer. There were vines growing up the sides of the cyan glass and parrots that squawked warily from a distance.

But the most eye-catching thing was the tree that grew to the side.

"What in the world?" False breathed when she landed.

"Don't know, but it doesn't look great," Xisuma said shortly, already on his phone and tapping at controls and Admin commands.

Iskall landed beside Mumbo, who was examining the tree intently with a concerned frown and creased eyebrows.

Every hermit on the server's life force was tied to a special tree. It was something new that they were trying, to prevent less deaths and item losses by being more careful and to fix a few issues that had happened on the technical side from previous seasons. A lot of the trees were unique to look like each Hermit, such as DocM's being rather sharply split between green and grey or Scar's currently being a palm tree. Most of the time they were no big deal. Each time a hermit died, the tree would take some damage in some way, such as a leaf dropping to the ground. Unless it was several deaths in a row, you couldn't even notice the difference in the tree. And even if you did die a lot, if you played it safe for a couple days your tree would be back to normal again in no time.

But this was different.

Grian's tree here in his aviary looked half-dead. It was normally a fairly simple oak tree, but with autumn red leaves instead of green. But half the leaves were fallen, dry on the ground, and the ones still on the tree were either brown or purple. A limb had even fallen, splintered and leaning against the trunk of the tree itself.

"Grian..." Mumbo murmured. He couldn't imagine what had happened for this to be the cause, or how Grian must be feeling if his tree was like this.

"What happened?” Iskall wondered, he started to approach the tree, but Xisuma called him back.

"It doesn't look like the tree has been healing over time properly," X muttered under his breath, his expression serious as he analyzed the details coming up on the server monitoring screen of his phone.

"We all know Grian dies a lot, could that be the cause?" False suggested nervously. X shook his head.

"This is over a long span of time, probably since the start of the season even."

"And Grian hasn't died since he's gone silent. It's not hard to miss a death message in the chat," Mumbo recalled, also pulling up the server chat on his own phone, "It's been three weeks, that should be plenty of time for the tree to have healed without any interruptions."

The sound of a firework going off and a rush of air as elytra closed up. The four hermits jumped as a newcomer stumbled into the garden, losing his balance and catching the broken branch to hold himself up as he landed.

"Guys?" A very pale- and sick-looking Grian breathed, before coughing into his arm and sliding to the ground.

"I think something's wrong..."

Tomorrow, I’ll review the latest MLP Episode. Today, the latest Equestria Girls Special.

Its Spring Break and the Girls are on a Yacht! Not the Crystal Prep Yacht since this is something Twilight prepared for them, but they do have a concert on the boat. While the others are having a relaxing time (minus Sea Sick AJ), Rainbow Dash is restless since she’s looking to use her powers to defeat Bad Magic.

This in turns ruins the Cruise for the others. Specifically, Pinkie (because of Dash) is banned from the Buffet just for associating with someone who attacked the chief. Scared all the Animals so the Petting Zoo is now just a Zoo, bumming out Fluttershy. And again, Sea Sick Applejack, who RD is just bugging while she’s trying to avoid barfing (and fails).

Thanks to a confrontation with Trixie (who performs two shows daily), Rainbow Dash gets an idea. If she wants to find Bad Magic, she needs to convince the others to Pony Up and bring it to them (under the guise of having a Rainbow Light Show during their concert). Also, Rarity meets a guy, but that’s not important.

Rainbow Dash: Just say it! I can take it!

Sunset Shimmer: You're ruining it for everyone!

Rainbow Dash: Ouch! Your words just... punched my feelings.

Sunset Shimmer: You said you could take it.

Sunset seems to convince Rainbow Dash, but she in turn convinced them to try the Rainbow Lasers for the show. And when she does it, the entire ship seem to lose power. Dash thinks its because of Bad Magic while Twilight tries to fix the ship. The others are off doing their own thing. That’s when Dash spots a familiar looking symbol...

The Symbol of the Storm King. Apparently Storm King is a bigger threat dead than alive. That’s pretty sad. Dash forcefully gathers everyone to show them but the symbol is gone. Twilight believes its a natural thing that Dash saw and an argument leads to Dash going off on her own without the others.

Sunset Shimmer: No one's blaming you for wanting to give us a normal spring break. We'd be having one if it weren't for me. I brought magic to this world in the first place.

The next morning, Twilight is feeling bad for arguing with Dash while Sunset takes an attribute from Peter Parker and blaming herself for them not having a normal spring break. Spoilers, none of this is her fault. It was Dash who was ruining this trip and with a second entrance to Equestria found, the Storm King’s Magic has nothing to do with Sunset’s originally bringing in magic. She is entirely blameless right now. The only way she can have less blame is if she never existed in the first place.

Speaking of people to properly blame, Rainbow Dash took a lifeboat to find the Bad Magic on her own. Worried, Sunset and Twilight go to try to find her while the others get everything ready for an emergency. Twilight and Sunset find an island and a very informative Parrot confirmed to them that Rainbow Dash is indeed on the island.

They find Rainbow Dash stuck in quicksand. Dash apologizes for ruining the trip because there is no magic, only to find out there are killer man eating plants. Granted, it could still not be magical, but Sunset figured out the only way to remain safe is to take a dive into the quicksand.

Because Sunset found out it wasn’t quicksand, but a portal to Equestria covered in a layer of sand. How it didn’t go through the portal I do not know. But the others are taking it well...

Twilight Sparkle: [continues screaming, pants, screams again, screams louder] PONY FACE!

Twilight Sparkle: [gasps] All my things are horse things!

Twilight Sparkle: Sorry, I wasn't listening. Because we're ponies!

Dash seeing this as a way to apologize thinks that this could be their vacation. After all, with the ship not working and the storm logically going to pass by eventually, they got nothing to worry about as they go into Ponyville. So how are the others doing on the boat?

The storm is making precision aiming, they restored the power only to lose control of the ship and crashing into rocks and they’re sinking because the storm also took out all the frikkin Lifeboats. Again, it is really sad he became more effective dead than alive. Back in Ponyville...

We were so close of having Prime Dash meet EQ Dash, but Sunset stopped that before it happened. And they eventually go to Twilight’s Castle, where we don’t see the School of Friendship nor Spike’s wings. With that, I believe this is happening during Season 8 Episode 1: before Twilight even started to build the school.

After at least an hour (20 minute fondue wait, a Spike story about a Dragon Wedding he attended and I assume multiple stories from Twilight), Dash notices the symbol and after remembering there was Lightning, Prime Twilight assumes correctly that the energy the Storm King was wielding wasn’t fully contained in the staff. So apparently he can indeed control Storms.

But despite being much more threatening, he was still a piece of cake to defeat. Because all the girls have to do was bring the staff to their world and drain that Storm Magic back into it, thus defeating the Storm King once and for all. Dash apologizes to Twilight. Twilight apologizes to Dash. Am I forgetting something?

Parrot: [squawks] "The ship is still sinking." [squawks]

Thank you Iago. The girls make it to the Yacht and with the others Pony Up, Rainbow Lasers, Light it up and save everyone and every creature on the boat. With all the living creatures safely off the boat and on the island, the only problem is how will they get back home? It ends with Sunset solving the problem quite easily...

Now she’s thinking with portals. Overall, it was fun. Dash did get annoying in the first half (think how Dash acted in 12 Pranks Later but worse) but in the other half she did get better. But one thing I left with is pretty much a bigger desire than ever before to have the EQ7 meet their Prime versions. We get a small taste of it here but now I hope to see a crossover before the series end. Maybe they somehow get transferred to each other’s world and have to find a way to make it until they can fix it. Or something.

As for how this fits with GLAB, as established on my take on the original Equestria Girls, the Portal to the two worlds were destroyed. But with them discovering yet another one, it’ll be the same until they go through it. Sunset is a little shell shocked because she never expected to be a pony again and Dash convinced them to look around.

Since Sunset never been to Ponyville, she doesn’t know about having to hide. But because they see Rainbow walking and talking with new ponies they don’t suspect nothing of it. It doesn’t last long, as Apple Bloom recognizes Sunset Shimmer during her brief time in the Pony World, captures the three of them before they could do anything.

Sunset apologizes, and Apple Bloom does recognize the Indigo ring on her, but still wishes to play it safe and see if they were indeed telling the truth about their friends being on a boat. In the EQ world, good news, she totally does believe Sunset. Bad news is she recognizes the symbol as being the Storm King. So Sunset becomes an Indigo Lantern while Apple Bloom powers up. The EQ Seven reunite as Apple Bloom takes on the Storm. 

As our Green Lantern holds back the storm, she looks in amazement how the other seven are doing. With everyone safe on the island, Apple Bloom turns it loose and unleashes a powerful blast that disperse and destroys the remaining Storm King magic. Since they have no way to get back home, Apple Bloom volunteers to take them back with her ring.

Sunset stops her and volunteers to do it instead. Apple Bloom slowly agrees, saying Sunset does seem like a completely different pony from what she was before. And offers her the right to visit one day if she feels like it. Sunset is thankful, thinking maybe once school is over she could return home.

Though, according to USA Today, they only do so because people are expanding into their territory and getting too close to their eggs or newborn birbs. The same goes for swans: though they’re graceful and beautiful, they will stop at nothing to defend their kids if anyone gets near them.

If you ever see a hummingbird eyeing your ice-cream or a crow looking at you funny — drop everything and run. Hide. And lock the doors. Otherwise, you might be another victim of jerk birds.

The Fun of Casual Chaos

Summary: Sophie and Renata have the ultimate sleepover filled with dancing, pizza and lots of laughs.

Sophie tapped her fork against her empty plate that was stained with juice left over from the boysenberry pie she had just devoured.

“Want another slice, Soph?” Marlon asked while his mouth was still full of pie. Bits of pie crust flew across the table.

“You know I can never say no to more pie,” Sophie leaned forward and took her boyfriend’s hand. Her thumb brushed against the top of it for a few seconds while Marlon flagged down a waiter.

“Hey there, can I have another slice of boysenberry pie for my lady?” Marlon smiled brightly when he saw how happy Sophie was. Whether it was because of the prospect of more pie or the pet name he had used he wasn’t sure but he bet it was a mixture of both.

“Sure thing!” The waiter gave a friendly smile then turned sharply on his heel to get the pie.

“This date was great,” Sophie commented while Marlon lifted up her hand to kiss her knuckles softly.

“Yeah, that new movie was absolutely awful. It was amazing!” Marlon laughed as he began to recall all of the corny moments.

“That line delivery when the protagonist figured out who the killer was - ‘It was the butler with a butter knife and his grandmama’s monocle!’” Sophie quoted the line in the same tone indication as the actor. It was so spot on that Marlon couldn’t help but snort while he took a sip of his coffee, so much so that the coffee nearly shot out of his nose.

“We gotta see that movie again! But who should we bring with us next time?” Marlon leaned back and thoughtfully tapped his chin with his pointer finger. Sophie soon mirrored her boyfriend before her eyes grew large when the waiter came back with the pie.

“Thanks a million, pal!” Sophie grinned at the waiter who returned the gesture.

“Oh, can I get the check too?” Marlon looked over at the waiter who gave a quick, friendly response before leaving once more. Sophie immediately dug into the slice of pie and devoured it within seconds. Marlon chuckled softly at the sight, causing his girlfriend to glance up.

“Shit, sorry, got distracted by pie. Ummm, let’s see,” Sophie fidgeted with her baseball cap.

“Louis and Clem would totally love the movie,” Marlon offered and Sophie nodded along clearly in agreement.

“True, true. Minnie and Ren would have a lot of fun with it too. Oh! Let's just make it a triple date!” Sophie suggested, causing a smile to appear on Marlon’s lips.

“Sounds good to me. So, speaking of dates, I was thinking we could go to Marsh Park sometime and have a picnic together. Maybe this Friday? You have that day off, right?” Marlon messed around with the zipper on his jacket while he waited for the check to arrive.

“I’d love to but I can’t this Friday. Ren is coming over for the ultimate friendship sleepover. Can we do it on Sunday though?” Sophie noticed that the check had arrived and Marlon quickly paid it.

“Sure, I wouldn’t wanna get in the way of the ultimate friendship sleepover,” Marlon rose to his feet and instantly intertwined his fingers with Sophie’s when she got up. The two thanked the staff of the small diner they had found and were on their way.

“Thanks for being flexible on scheduling, I really appreciate it,” Sophie planted a kiss on Marlon’s cheek. Marlon gave a somewhat dorky smile at that and the two walked on. Sophie couldn’t wait for this weekend and all the fun that was going to come from it.

“Alrighty, I grabbed the drinks and you have the pizza,” Sophie commented as she watched Renata balance a pizza on her head while carrying a bowl of popcorn and candy in her arms.

“Yep! We are all set for the ultimate night!” Renata carefully spun around to flash a grin at her best friend. The  pair wandered to the back living room and placed down their food.

“Okay, Minnie has a gig right now, my dads are staying late at their jobs and Tenn is at AJ’s where I’m sure those two are trying to convince him to play Skunk Me. So the whole house-” Sophie was cut off when she sat down and a loud fart sound emitted from the couch. Renata burst out laughing. Her laughter only grew when Sophie reached to grab the whoopee cushion but ended up setting off another.

“Ha ha, Ren, you better watch out. I heard karma farts are the worst,” Sophie warned but ended up laughing at her own statement.

“I better watch out then. But I’m not afraid - I have the ultimate radar for pranks,” Renata casually sat down on the other couch. Immediately a whoopee cushion went off and it was Sophie’s turn to laugh. Clearly the two of them had the same brain when it came to the opening prank for this evening of fun. Both of them laughed for a minute before Renata hopped up.

“Okay, let's start this off with a classic,” Renata strolled forward and went to where the DVDs were. Running her finger along the rims of the cases, her eyes searched for the movie she wanted. After a minute of searching she found it: 102 Dalmatians.

“I can’t wait to see my baby Oddball!” Sophie excitedly hopped up and jogged over to grab the blankets and pillows.

“I can’t wait to see Cruella De Vil baked into a cake! Top ten cinematic masterpiece moments,”

As soon as the disc was inserted some ads and commercials for older movies started to play. Renata spun around and worked with Sophie to make the ultimate blanket and pillow fort. She scampered this way and that to get everything set while Sophie used her height to hold up blankets at a higher level than Renata could. Renata set up the pillow pillars and placeholders for the edges of the blankets and Sophie let go of the blankets then worked to make the comfiest area ever inside the fort, filled with pillows and their snacks. Renata grabbed the TV and DVD remotes and joined her best friend in their little fort.

“I have to say we have outdone ourselves this time, Soph!” Renata looked around the fort with pride. Looking over, she saw the same pride dance within Sophie’s eyes.

“Yep, I say we did a pretty killer job. Let’s celebrate with a drink!” Sophie cracked open a Jamaica soda for Renata who accepted it gratefully before chugging nearly half of its contents. Sophie opened her orange Fanta and proceeded to do the same.

“Okay, now to see if our mystery pizza is good this time,” Renata rubbed her hands together in excitement then tossed open the pizza box. There stood half of a cheese pizza and the mystery half which this time held a copious amount of caramelized onions and jalapenos. Sophie braved the mystery pizza this time and Renata watched her best friend with baited breath. This was it - it would finally be a good mystery pizza.

It wasn’t. The overwhelming amount of onions mixed with the spicy kick of the jalapenos just didn't vibe with either of them. But soon they moved past that as Renata started the movie before she began to scarf down the pizza. The two friends immediately got caught up in the joy of the movie, commenting on how adorable Oddball was and the other doggos.

“Man, I want to get a dalmatian sometime in the future, They are so cute !” Renata dunked her pizza crust in hot sauce and stuffed it in her mouth.

“Do it! I’m sure Minnie would love having a dalmatian too,” Sophie teased her best friend who was shocked by the sentence for a few seconds but immediately recovered.

“I sure hope so. Because me and the dalmatian that doesn’t have a name are a package deal.” Renata noticed that Sophie was hogging the popcorn and motioned for her to toss some her way.

Sophie grabbed a few kernels and tossed them at Renata’s mouth. “Please, if anything you and Minnie are the package deal that the dog will have to take or leave.” She opened up some skittles and began to toss those as well.

“True, you’re right. Nothing's gonna break me and Minipie apart,”

Soon their focus returned to the movie and they laughed, enjoying all the different scenes. Before they knew it they had reached the iconic cake factory scene. Renata and Sophie cheered on the different dalmatians and other dogs as they took down Cruella De Vil. Sophie crowed with joy and pride when the dogs used the frosting to decorate the cake.

“That’s true art!” Sophie clapped her hands and Renata joined in.

“Can’t forget the cake topper!” Renata added as the parrot flew forward and placed it on top of Cruella’s head. The two friends watched with amusement, chuckling as Cruella De Vil crashed into the shop’s window and got arrested. Both of them cheered and clapped as Oddball got her spots and soon the movie was done.

“That's such a great movie,” Sophie crawled out of the fort and brushed the crumbs off her clothes.

“It really is.” Renata scurried out. “So, you ready for our dance off?” She looked at the redhead with a confident smirk

“Hell yeah!” Sophie returned the smirk.

The pair of friends happily danced to music blasting out of Renata’s phone to warm up before they did their official dance off. It was obvious who was the better dancer. Dancing had always been Renata’s passion and with all the different types of dancing she knew she was able to incorporate different styles together, making cool and unique dance moves to the beat of the song. Sophie, on the other hand, wasn’t a good dancer by any stretch of the imagination. Sophie nor Renata seemed to mind at all though. In fact, Renata loved how Sophie tried to incorporate the chicken dance into a song that it clearly wasn’t meant for before attempting an odd version of the worm.

The friends continued to dance, quickly hopping onto the couches and jumping to the beat of the song. Both of them danced around each other and laughed as the music continued. Soon I Love It by Icona Pop came on and Sophie and Renata shared a smile. Both of them belted out the lyrics and had so much fun dancing to the song that they put it on repeat. They were so caught up in joy of the moment that they didn’t hear Tenn’s quiet voice announce that he was home. He slowly wandered back when he heard the music and saw Renata and Sophie hopping on the couches. Sophie was in the middle of singing when she spotted her little brother.

“Hey Tenn!” Sophie’s smile faded for a moment when she remembered this song had swears in it. Quickly Sophie sung the lyrics louder than the song while she traversed the couches towards Renata’s phone to stop it. “I crashed my car into the bridge, I watched, I let it burn! I threw your shoe into a bag and pushed it down the stairs.” Sophie gave a mighty leap and continued to sing until she grabbed the phone and paused the music.

“Hiya, Tenn! How’s my favorite little artist doing?” Renata hopped off the couch and held out her fist for a fistbump.

“I’m doing good.” Tenn smiled and returned the fist bump.

“I thought I was your favorite artist,” Sophie teased her friend as she walked forward to give her little brother a welcome home hug.

“You’re my favorite tall artist,” Renata pointed out and Sophie seemed to accept that answer and was about to add something but Renata spoke up first. “And before you ask about Min, she is my favorite musician.”

“Dang, I almost got you,” Sophie gave a playful smile before looking back at Tenn. “So, did you have a good time at AJ’s?”

“Yeah! We made our own comic!” Tenn beamed and revealed the comic in his hands. Sophie and Renata both made excited sounds and soon all three of them were looking through the comic together.

“You gotta show Minnie tomorrow since it seems her jig ran super late,” Sophie glanced at the time.

“Yeah, I will. I’m gonna head to bed. I’ll see you in the morning,” Tenn hugged his sister and Renata good night and walked off.

“Get ready for the best French toast tomorrow morning!” Renata called out and Tenn gave a thumbs up before disappearing further in the house. Soon Sophie and Renata got caught up in some games. The time flew by and before they realized it it was three in the morning. Both of them snuck back into their blanket and pillow fort and began to get ready to sleep. The two continued to crack jokes and talked about all the crazy toppings they’d put on the French toast tomorrow. Renata boasted that she’d make the ultimate French toast shaped like a heart for Minnie and would find the perfect ingredients to make it the best it could be. After a few more minutes of talking the pair grew quiet.

“Hey, Ren?” Sophie whispered over to her friend.

“Yeah?” Renata peeked her head out from her pile of blankets.

Sophie was quiet for a second. “I’m glad you're my best friend. You’re always a lot of fun to be around and you’ve helped me through a lot so thanks,”

Sophie’s words made Renata’s heart feel warm and a soft smile pulled on her lips. “Awww, thanks Soph! I’m super lucky to have you as a best friend! Usually at this point people write me off as too much trouble or too obnoxious to be best friend material,” Renata glanced over at Sophie and noticed her frown.

“Yeah, well they’re stupid then. If I ever met them, I’d let them know that it was their loss and that they were dummies to let go of a friend like you!” Sophie whisper shouted and Renata chuckled.

“Thanks. Oh! Maybe chocolate hot sauce would be good on French toast.” Renata’s mind had switched to another lane of conversation.

“Oh! Yes! Let’s try that out. We should get some sleep though,” Sophie yawned and shifted under her blanket more.

“Yeah, you’re right.” Renata rolled over and in seconds was out like a light.

Sophie felt herself drifting in and out of sleep. She kept readjusting her head on her pillow to get that perfect spot. The redhead rolled over to see if she could sleep on her back when suddenly a loud fart sound emitted from under her and Sophie let out a yell and whacked her head against one of the pillow pillars, causing a blanket to fall on her face. “Ren!”

Sophie looked over expecting to see her friend giggling but she was nowhere to be found. It only took Sophie a moment to know where she went. Crawling out of the fort with the six whoopee cushions Renata had hidden throughout it, Sophie tiptoed through the house, making sure not to wake up any of her family members.

She wandered up the stairs and soon stood by Minnie’s bed. Her guess had been right. Renata was snuggled close to Minnie, wrapped around her like a koala. Minnie’s arms were wrapped around her girlfriend. Both of them looked so peaceful and happy. Sophie debated whether she should go through with her plan. After a few seconds she reached out and tapped Minnie’s shoulder. Minnie stirred and looked over at her twin.

“Sophie? What are you doing here? Were you worried about Ren? It's okay, she’s with me.” Minnie mumbled sleepily and felt her heartbeat quicken as Renata nuzzled her face against Minnie’s neck.

“I was looking for Renata but it wasn’t out of worry,” Sophie replied. Minnie noticed the look in her sister’s eyes.

“What did Ren do this time?”

“Fart attacked me.” Sophie’s response made Minnie’s eyebrows furrow.

“Like real farts or-”

“Whoopee cushions. Anyways, can you get up for a second? I wanna get back at her,” Sophie held up the multiple whoopee cushion she had brought. Minnie considered it for a few moments then nodded. Renata probably knew Sophie would get back at her and besides Minnie could always cuddle with Renata after this. She kissed Renata’s forehead and her cheek softly, causing her girlfriend to stir before the redhead untangled her arms and got up. Sophie gave a small thanks then set up all the whoopee cushions. Without warning she slammed her hands down on the cushions, making a loud chorus of farts. Renata yelped and jolted up too suddenly, causing her to slip off the bed.

“Ow,” Renata rubbed her butt and looked up when she heard Sophie’s laughter. “Ah, so these are the karma farts you were talking about. I can’t believe you did this after we had a heart to heart,”

“Yeah, well you started it with the whoopee cushions so I guess now we had a fart to fart.” Sophie’s sentence made Renata  and Minnie laugh. After the laughter died down Sophie headed back downstairs, already knowing that Renata would want to go back to cuddling with Minnie.

The night went quickly after that and as daylight broke Sophie was greeted with the warm, alluring smell of French toast. Entering the kitchen, she saw her dads Matthew and Walter sharing some small kisses here and there as they got the morning coffee together. Walter gave Matthew a hug from behind and kissed his neck before he noticed his daughter. “Morning, Doodlebug. Sleep okay?”

“Yeah,” Sophie walked further in and saw that Minnie was flipping French toast while Renata was working with Tenn to shape the pieces of bread into hearts. Sophie shared a smile with her best friend when Renata looked up. This sleepover really had been a ton of fun and it looked like it would last well into the morning. Sophie’s heart grew warm as she took in the sight of the kitchen. This was gonna be an awesome breakfast.
