14 and 15 for the fanfic ask game?

14- a fic u didnt expect to write

a woman of virtue. its one-sided(?) lara/aspity :) so im realizing now that this fits this question bc a) this is the only fic i technically posted in 2021, not counting some km fills... but id pick that one anyway bc b) it was for a fic exchange, which i'd never tried before! and also unexpected for me bc c) lara/aspity is a pairing i find pretty hard to pin down! overall, fic tends to be self-indulgent for me, so for the above reasons (and more! trying to deal seriously w p1's whole... setting, let's say) this fic was a real challenge!

15- something you learned this year

that's a little tougher... i think kinda related (patho + the community that ran that fic exchange), i discovered i'm not very good at discord fan servers... i had a lot of fun checking it out at first and felt like i was making some online friendquaintances (another first for me!) but it was really overwhelming to try to keep up with the discussions and after a few months i kinda stopped coming back.... not bc it wasn't a nice space but bc i felt weird abt never participating or knowing what was going on haha. i'd just get backread to a point where i felt like i could understand and then realize i didnt even have anything to say except 'good discussion guys!' like.... 90% of the time lol. so, i think maybe big fan communities are not my thing! i had only ever really done solo-style fic writing while browsing a fandom tag on tumblr from the sidelines, and i think that's as much bc it's more my speed as bc i'm not really outgoing in general... it was a learning experience for sure!
