Annie CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club March 2020 Review “Celebrate Life”
Annie's sends their monthly card kits in a purple mailer.
Here's our first peek at this month's kit. I love the pink and navy blue theme!
Each month you'll get an instruction booklet with color photos. You can tell by the pictures below that we are going to make some very beautiful cards!
The inside of the booklet shows you everything that is included in this kit. The “Celebrate Life” Card Kit includes: Cards Envelopes Foil Cardstock Patterned papers Die-cut sheets Ribbon Twine Sequins Self-cling rubber stamps You will also need the Cardmaker Tool Kit (which is included with your first shipment and has a bone folder, stamp block, ruler, etc.), scissors or a paper cutter, a black stamp pad or black marker, adhesive, and foam adhesive dots. Our favorite paper cutter is this Fiskars Rotary Trimmer and favorite adhesive to use is Tombow Mono Adhesive Applicator. We also like StazOn ink pads for black ink.
There are detailed instructions on each page, with all the dimensions you need to cut the card stock and patterned paper.
This month, Annie's gives you instructions to make 5 different cards, but they include enough materials to make your own designs, too.
Patterned Paper and Gold Foil Cardstock This month, Annie's include gold foil cardstock. This card stock is so elegant and heavy weight. The floral and striped patterned paper is beautiful as well!
Beautiful Friendship Die-Cuts These die-cut messages and embellishments make it really easy to make your cards look professional.
Navy Blue and Pink Pre-Scored Cards & Envelopes Annie's includes pre-scored cards to make folding cards a lot easier.
Sequins, Ribbon, and Twine We got color coordinated sequins, ribbon, and twine. These are easy ways to dress up homemade cards!
Beautiful Friendship Self Cling Rubber Stamps These stamps have cute messages and flowers. I really like the selection in fonts in this month's kit.
Now, let's see what cards we made! Have a Beautiful Day Card This is the cardstock and paper that we cut according to the dimensions provided in the instruction booklet. My rotary paper cutter makes cutting paper really easy!
To make a flag for this card, we cut some notches into the gold foil paper.
This was the finished "Have a Beautiful Day!" card. Don't you just love it?
We made another version of this card using the "You Make Me Happy" die cut.
Congrats Card This card required cutting 3 paper strips from the patterned paper.
You can see here, we spaced them equally apart using our Tombow mono adhesive.
We also used the pink grosgrain ribbon to create some interest at the top of this card.
The Congrats message was assembled using layers of the die cuts and gold foil paper
Here is the finished card. I really love how all of the colors and patterns are pulled together on this card.
We also made our own version of this card by turning the card sideways and adding the "You Are Beautiful Inside and Out" die-cut message.
Enjoy The Little Things Card This card required less paper cutting and uses the pink and gold sequins.
We adhered the pink ribbon to the bottom of the patterned paper and gold foil cardstock.
Here is the finished card. The gold foil cardstock really adds a touch of elegance and bling to these cards. I think I'm going to have to buy more of this cardstock!
Here is our version of this card using the Grateful flag die cut.
Grateful For All You Do Card This card uses mainly navy colors with pops of color in gold and pink.
Here is our finished card. I love the simplicity of this card.
Thankful for you Card This card uses the striped patterned paper with gold accents.
Here is our finished card. I am partial to stripes, so I really like this card. :)
I also made another card using the same paper, but used the Happy Day banner.
Here is another card that I made using the gold "hello" die cut.
In Summary I am in love with the gold, navy, and gold color scheme that was used in this month's "Beautiful Friendship" card kit from Annie's. All of the cards were really easy to make and were mess free! I really loved the gold foil cardstock that was used in this month's card designs. They added a perfect amount of bling and elegance! The die cut messages and flowers also give these cards a professional look. What did you think of this month's card kit? Annie’s CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club March 2020 Review + 50% Off Coupon
Today, we are reviewing Annie’s CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club that has the theme of “Celebrate Life”. While the theme of this month's card kit has a bit more somber in tone, it reminds me to hug my loved ones. However, I do sometimes need to send sympathy cards, so these cards will be at the ready when I do, unfortuantely need to send them. This month's card making techniques are Layering, Stamping, and Rub-On Transfers. About Annie’s CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club Annie's CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club sends you most of the supplies and instructions you need to make 8-10 high quality hand made cards! I personally love getting hand made cards, and really enjoy making them too! Annie CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club March 2020 Review “Celebrate Life”
Annie's sends their monthly card kits in a purple mailer.
Here is our first peek at this month's kit.
Each month you'll get an instruction booklet with color photos. You can tell by the pictures below that we're going to have some very unique card designs.
The inside of the booklet shows you everything that is included in this kit. The “Celebrate Life” Card Kit includes: Cards Envelopes Cardstock Patterned paper Rub-on sheets Navy Ink Pad Twine Self-cling rubber stamps You will also need the Cardmaker Tool Kit (which is included with your first shipment and has a bone folder, stamp block, ruler, etc.), scissors or a paper cutter, a black stamp pad or black marker, adhesive, and foam adhesive dots.
Annie's gives you instructions for 4 different cards, but they include enough materials to make you own designs, too.
All of the supplies in this month kit are bundled together as shown below.
Patterned Paper and Cardstock The navy blue leaf and floral pattern paper is really sophisticated and eloquent.
Celebrate Life Gold Rub-Ons The rub on messages that Annie's provided are a beautiful gold color and have very warm thoughts, ranging from "With Deepest Sympathy" to " Loving Thoughts Are With You".
Navy Blue and White Pre-Scored Cards & Envelopes Annie's includes pre-scored cards to make folding cards a lot easier.
Celebrate Life Self-Cling Rubber Stamps The message is on these rubber stamps our heartfelt and loving. I also really like the floral and leaf stamps.
Navy Blue Ink Pad and Navy & White Twine I was really glad to see Andy's include a navy blue ink pad that I think will pair really well with the navy patterned paper. Adding twine to cards always helps to embellish them and give them some extra flair.
Each month I typically show you some of my card making process. But with limited time this month, given that we are fighting this coronavirus crisis and I have a lot more to do at home, I'm really just going to show you the finished products. I hope you don't mind! Forever Remembered Card This card uses a 3D type of technique where you're layering patterned paper on top of cardstock. The card stock is folded in many different places so you'll get an interesting opening when you open the card
This photo shows you the dimension of this card. I think it's really beautiful and eloquent.
Loving Thoughts Are With You Card This card also uses a similar 3D technique to the card I just showed you.
When you open the card the top flap, it actually opens to the right. To see the inside message, you have to open the left flap to the left. This is such a creative way to make a different card, and this is the first time I've done something like this.
Always In Our Hearts Card This card accentuates the use of the watercolor ombre patterned paper. It is very simple card that uses a layering technique with the card stock. I really like how professional-looking the rub on messages make these cards look.
With Sympathy and Love Card This card uses the watercolor ombre paper along with the floral patterned paper. This card also opens from the right and then from the left
Thinking Of You Card This card was super easy and fast to make. Here we're just using the leaf pattern paper along with floral patterned paper to create a simple design.
With Deepest Sympathy Card This With Deepest Sympathy Card uses a similar design to the previous card with a different message.
May Love Be What You Remember Most Card The card making techniques on this card used some pattern paper that had an edge to it. The edge allowed us to stamp this "May Love Be What You Remember Most" message on the front in a white area on the card. I also added some of the floral leaf stamps. If you can look really closely you'll see some stamping done where I'm not re-inking the stamp but rather just applying a lighter shade of the ink.
Goodbyes Card I think the messages in this card kit are very loving, caring and healing. The quote that we stamped onto this card said "Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you, until we meet again".
Love Everyday Card The floral edges patterned paper was used here again, and in the blank space, we stamped the message "Those we love don't go away, the walk beside us every day."
In Summary I am super impressed, if I do say some myself :), with how lovely these Annie's CardMaker Kit "Celebrate Life" cards came out. The stamped navy blue messages blended in so nicely with the navy blue floral and leaf patterned paper. The gold rub-on messages make these cards look so elegant and classy. I do feel like I learn something new with each month's Annie's CardMaker Kit-Of-The-Month kit. This month the layering techniques for so intricate and beautiful, I think I'll be using this card technique for quite a while going forward. Annie CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club February 2020 Review "Sweet Birthday"

Each month, Annie's includes a colored instruction booklet. You can see that this month's theme of “Sweet Birthday”. I love stocking up on Birthday Cards - you can never have too many. I feel like I'm sending or giving out birthday cards every month with my huge extended family!
The inside of the booklet shows you everything that is included in this kit. The "Sweet Birthday" Card Kit includes: Cards Envelopes Cardstock Patterned paper Die-cut sheets Acetate sheets Ribbons Glitter Dots Self-cling rubber stamps You will also need the Cardmaker Tool Kit (which is included with your first shipment and has a bone folder, stamp block, ruler, etc.), scissors or a paper cutter, a black stamp pad or black marker, adhesive, and foam adhesive dots.
Annie's gives you instructions for 4 different cards, but they include enough materials to make you own designs, too.
Here is the last card design...
Now, let's take a closer look to see the materials that are included with this month's kit! Patterned Paper and Cardstock I am loving the blue, purple, and green color scheme of this card kit! These cards can given to women, men, girls, and boys!
Die-Cut Sheets with Birthday Themed Die Cuts These die cuts are perfect for mixing and matching. There are cupcakes, donuts, ice cream cones, cake stand, birthday messages, and more!
Cake Dome Acetate Sheets These cake dome acetate sheets will be used to add some dimension and style to the cards.
Blue and Purple Pre-Scored Cards& Envelopes I like that Annie's sends pre-scored cards. It makes for an easier, more professional look!
Happy Birthday Self-Cling Rubber Stamps These stamp messages are perfect for displaying birthday wishes either on the outside or inside of the cards we are going to make.
Here is the back of the stamps.
Glitter Dots & Ribbon These glitter dots are tiny and cute. We also got some with and purple ribbon.
Now, I'll show you the before, during, and after of each of these cards. Per the instructions, I cut the card stock and patterned paper using the included dimensions. Happy Birthday Cupcake Card Here are all of the materials we needed to make the "Happy Birthday Cupcake" Card.
This card was very easy to make using the layering technique. The acetate cake dome added a nice touch to this card!
Here's another look at this card in better lighting.
I also made a second card using the same background, but with a different cupcake and birthday sentiment.
Here is this card in better lighting.
Sweet Wishes Card Here are all of the materials we needed to make the "Sweet Wishes" Card. The donut cut-out is making me hungry for Krispy Kreme!!! :)
This card required stamping a "Sweet Wishes" message on a cut-out.
I don't think I inked up the stamp enough, but I think the card still turned out to be pretty darn cute!
Here is the card in better lighting.
And here is my version of the card using the blue card and a cupcake and a "Sprinkle With Love" message.
Celebrate Card This card design is the most intriguing to me because it has a pop-up tag message. I have never tried this cardmaking technique before.
To make the "pocket" for the tag, we used a nickel to trace a half circle onto the card.
Then I cut it the traced half circle using scissors.
For the pop-up tag, I used the included piercing tool from our first kit to make holes to cut a slit in the tag for the ribbon.
After I inserted the ribbon, I tied it up and cut off the loose ends.
This is what the finished card looked like.
And here's my version of this card.
I really love this pop-up tag concept! It adds an element of surprise to this card.
You Can Never Have Too Many Sprinkles Card This card was super quick and easy to make.
I agree that you can never have too many sprinkles, especially on your birthday!
This card used the glitter dots, which helps dress up a very simple, yet colorful card.
And here is my version of the card using the same sprinkle paper background, but different cupcakes and a "Life is Short, Eat Cake!" message.
In Summary I really adored the "sweet" designs in the "Sweet Birthday" Annie's Cardmaker Kit-of-the-Month Club kit. The cards are super professional looking, colorful, and we are blast to make! I learned a new cardmaking technique with the pop-up tag card and pocket - a new skill that I can add to my card making repertoire. I love how Annie's includes nearly everything you need to make these cards, so they would be the perfect gift for the beginning card maker, or a seasoned card maker who loves convenience and pre-meditated design. :)

Annie’s CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club November 2019 Review
The theme of this month's CardMaker Kit is "Elegant Yule". Now that it's mid-November, I am starting to get into the holiday spirit and this card kit will definitely help!
Each month, Annie's teaches you a new card technique. Last month, we learned how to use watercolors on to make some beautiful cards. This month, we'll learn a technique called "Layering".
Here is the cover of the info booklet.
The info booklet tells you what materials you need, and also has detailed instructions on how to assemble each card. For this kit, you'll need the CardMaker took kit (which comes with your first kit), a ruler, scissors or paper cutter, adhesive, adhesive glue dots (or tacky glue), and adhesive foam dots. Our favorite paper cutter is this Fiskars Rotary Trimmer and favorite adhesive to use is Tombow Mono Adhesive Applicator.
You'll get all of the dimensions needed to cut the cardstock and paper to size.
The color photos help with card assembly in case you are a visual learner. :)
Now, let's get on to see what materials are in this kit! Holiday Cut-Outs, Red and Green Suede Paper, and Patterned Paper We forgot to turn the patterned paper around, so it looks white here (oops!).
Embossed and Scalloped Edged Cards
Here's a closer look at this beautiful edging already done for you!
Envelopes and Paper Doilies
Holiday Self-Cling Rubber Stamps
Organza Ribbon, Satin Ribbon, Buttons, Evergreen Sprigs, Tassels
Card #1: Happy Holidays Card This is our completed first "Happy Holidays" Card.
These were the materials that were needed to assemble this card.
Once we cut out the paper according to directions, we just layered everything onto the card using adhesive.
I really love the gold buttons and tassel that was on this card! It was really quick and easy to make, but it looks elegant and classy.
We used the "Happy Holidays" self-cling rubber stamp to create a greeting on the inside of the card.
Card #2: "Wishing You Peace..." Card This is our completed "Wishing You Peace & Love At Christmas & Always" Card.
These were the materials needed for this card.
I really liked using the paper doily, green suede paper, organza ribbon to create dimension and interest on this card. The evergreen sprigs were also a unique, festive element on this card!
Here's another look at the completed cards. One card has a different twist!
We added the "May the miracle of Christmas fill your home with love." stamp to the inside of the card.
Here you can see two of our cards with the stamped greeting inside the cards.
Card #3: Holiday Greetings Card This is the finished "Holiday Greetings" Card.
Here are the materials that are needed to assemble this card.
This card has a majestic look with the gold paper ribbon cutting down the center.
Don't you just love these?
Card #4: Merry Christmas Card Our last card was this "Merry Christmas" Card.
This card used layered suede paper (which is so soft!) along with holiday cutouts.
Per the instructions, we also added the gold pearls to the scalloped edge of these cards.
These cards are so festive looking!
In Summary The "Elegant Yule" holiday card kit set from Annie's helped my daughter and I make beautiful, handmade cards easily and quickly. These cards took us a total of 45 minutes to put together, and helped get her off of screen time, too! The suede and patterned paper was of high quality, and the embellishments were unique and made the cards stand out. I'm now ready to give these cards out to family and friends to spread some holiday cheer! What did you like most about these holiday cards? Annie’s CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club October 2019 Review
I was happy to see a Thank You theme in the material's in this month's kit. It came just in time for Thanksgiving!
The theme of the October kit is Watercolor Thank You.
The info booklet tells you what materials you need, and also has detailed instructions on how to assemble each card. For this kit, you'll need the CardMaker took kit (which comes with your first kit), a ruler, scissors or paper cutter, water, paper towels, paper plates, and adhesive. Our favorite paper cutter is this Fiskars Rotary Trimmer and faborite adhesive to use is Tombow Mono Adhesive Applicator. We found that we also need to use a craft glue stick and tacky glue for this kit.
This card kit teaches you how to make watercolor backgrounds using the included watercolor paints and watercolor paper. I have never done this before, so don't judge. :)
Now, let's get on to see what materials are in this kit! Thank You Themed Rub-On Sheets
Cardstock, Vellum, and Watercolor Paper
Pre-Scored Cards
8 Envelopes
Watercolor Paints
Waterbrush
Sequins
Self-Cling Thank You Rubber Stamps
Card #1 - With Gratitude Card This is our completed first card - "With Gratitude"!
These were all of the materials we needed for this card. You will need to cut the cardstock per the instructions in the booklet.
The waterbrush was really fun and easy to use. You fill the barrel with water, and then squeeze the pen to drop water out onto paper or your watercolor paints.
Here, you can see me dipping into the paint.
Applying the paint was super easy and mess-free!
To "clean" the brush and remove color, there is no messy water cup to deal with. All you need to do is squeeze the pen to get more water out and rub it on a paper towel until you get a clean brush.
I could totally see buying my kids more of these pens because there is no water cup or mess involved!
Here is the watercolor background for our first card.
This is the first time I have really used rub-ons before, but I really love the look!
The lettering looks so professional and it was super easy to run on!
I ended up making 2 slightly different cards using this watercolor background.
Card #2 - Just to Say Thanks This is our second complete card – “Just to Say Thanks”!
These were all of the materials we needed for this card.
Here is the watercolor background for our second card. This card layers 2 pieces of cardstock together and you make the bottom of the card darker and brush up until you don't see any more color on your brush.
This card design included putting black cardstock behind the smaller piece of cardstock to create contrast.
Here is the completed card along with another variation that I made.
Card #3 - Thank You This is the completed third card. I just love how simple and elegant this card looks!
We only needed 3 colors for this watercolor background.
And the rub-on made the lettering super easy as well!
Here are the 2 cards that I made with this design.
Card #4 - You Made My Day Here is the completed fourth card.
These were the materials that were needed for the fourth card.
This card used vellum to add some flair to this card.
On the vellum, we used a layering technique and applied the gold rub on first, then the black lettering on top, but slightly offset.
I had no idea you could layer rub-ons together! I love this look.
Here are the 2 cards with this design.
In Summary
I was so happy with how these Watercolor Thank You cards turned out. The blue, pink, and green colors are amazing and the rub-on lettering give them a professional look. My kids asked if I bought these cards in the store. :) Making cards provides a great creative outlet for me, and I also appreciate having a card kit with instructions so I don't have to start from a blank sheet.
