First Home Bout of the 2017 Season

Ann Arbor Roller Derby hosted our first home bout of the 2017 season this past Saturday!

First up was the Ann Arbor Brawlstars as they took on the charter team of Ohio Roller Derby. A great rematch that resulted in the Brawlstars winning with a score of 193-124.

Next up was the Arbor Bruising Company as they took on Ohio Roller Derby's B team, Gang Green. Last year, Gang Green came out on top with a one-point victory. This time around, the Bruisers took the win with a score of 235-101.

Thank you so much to Ohio Roller Derby for coming out to Buhr Park for an awesome evening of roller derby!!

Missed out on the fun? Well, you are in luck! Our next home bout is a few short weeks away on June 24th and will be another double-header featuring the Ann Arbor Brawlstars and the A2D2 Ypsilanti Vigilantes.

Do you like rock n’ roll?

Are you a fan of roller derby?

Well guess what? You can support both in one night! On March 18th, the Ann Arbor Brawlstars will be hosting a rocking fundraiser at Crossroads Pub in Ypsilanti to help raise funds for travel and lodging expenses for the 2017 season.

The Brawlstars have already traveled to Wisconsin, but still have games in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and California. To help offset the costs of all this travel, come hang out with some roller derby skaters, listen to some rad music, and have an overall awesome Saturday night.

The Ann Arbor Brawlstars traveled out to Pennsylvania this past weekend to take on Steel City Roller Derby in a much anticipated rematch.

During the 2016 D1 playoffs in Columbia, Steel City got the better of Ann Arbor in a 258-205 win. This time around, the Ann Arbor Brawlstars made sure to make a statement and pulled ahead quickly to bring home a victory over Steel Hurtin’. 

A huge thank you to Steel City for inviting the Brawlstars and for being such amazing hosts!

Do you know that old urban legend? The one where you watch the video tape full of roller derby GIFs and then you receive a phone call. You answer and the person on the other end says to you in a unnecessarily raspy voice "You will watch roller derby in seven days".

No? Well regardless, you should head out to Buhr Park next Saturday to catch the second home bout of Ann Arbor Roller Derby's 2017 season.

This will be an amazing day of competition with the A2D2 Ypsilanti Vigilantes taking on East Lansing Roller Derby - Mitten Mavens followed by the Ann Arbor Brawlstars versus Queen City Roller Girls: Lake Effect Furies.

Doors open at 5:30 and the first whistle is at 6 pm!
