CONVERSATIONS WITH ANNAMALAI SWAMI
This waking life is just a long dream which keeps our attention away from what we really are. If you take the attitude that all the happenings in the world are dream events, your mind becomes tranquil. It is only when you take the dream world to be real that you get agitated.
Q: I feel strongly that life is a long dream but I cannot see through the dream. For many years it has been like this.
AS: If you really believed that all life was a dream, nothing in the world would ever trouble you. If you still have problems and worries, like not being able to see through the dream, it means that you have still not completely ceased to identify with what temporarily appears in your consciousness.
You should inquire, 'Who is not able to penetrate through the dream?â
The true âIâ is not identified with the dream. If you don't forget your real Self, waking, dreaming, and sleeping do not affect you.
The things around you are always changing, but what we really ARE remains changeless.
âLiving by the Words of Bhagavanâ p. 286

Q: Is it better to meditate like this alone, or
is there some advantage in meditating with other people?
Annamalai Swami: If seekers are always in the company of worldly people who take the mind and body to be !', they will get affected by their mind currents. Self-ignorance can be contagious. Don't associate with worldly people. Either do meditation alone or do it with people who are also striving to give up their mental attachments.
Q: | think that this is very helpful advice. But in the West it is very difficult to practice with other likeminded people. Spiritual people are few and far between.
AS: What you say may be true. If you make your meditation strong and constant, no one can disturb it.
If it is our destiny to live with unspiritual people, outwardly we should act just as they do.
But inwardly, our total attention should flow towards the Self.
Q. This practice you speak of is a totally new way of living.
AS: This is the real life. All other lives are maya. Don't take the maya to be real....
Living by the Words of Bhagavan, p. 289.

Arunachalam Temple Festivals: A Celebration of Divine Grace
Arunachalam Temple, nestled in the sacred town of Thiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, India, is not only a place of worship but also a vibrant hub of festivities and celebrations. Throughout the year, the temple comes alive with the rhythmic beats of drums, the melodious chants of hymns, and the colorful spectacle of traditional rituals and festivals.
Maha Shivaratri
One of the most significant festivals celebrated at Arunachalam Temple is Maha Shivaratri, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees from all corners of the country flock to the temple to offer their prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Arunachaleshwara. The festival is marked by elaborate rituals, including abhishekams (sacred ablutions), processions of decorated chariots, and devotional singing and dancing throughout the night.
Karthigai Deepam
Karthigai Deepam is another major festival celebrated with great pomp and fervor at Arunachalam Temple. It falls on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Karthigai (November-December) and is dedicated to Lord Shiva as the divine embodiment of fire (Agni). The highlight of the festival is the lighting of the sacred lamp (deepam) atop the Annamalai hill, which is visible for miles around and is believed to symbolize the divine light of Lord Shiva.
Panguni Uthiram
Panguni Uthiram is celebrated during the Tamil month of Panguni (March-April) and commemorates the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival attracts thousands of devotees who participate in colorful processions, cultural programs, and special rituals held at the temple. It is a time of joy, devotion, and spiritual renewal for devotees who seek the blessings of the divine couple for prosperity, happiness, and fulfillment.
Aadi Pooram
Aadi Pooram is celebrated during the Tamil month of Aadi (July-August) and is dedicated to the goddess Ambal, the divine consort of Lord Arunachaleshwara. The festival features vibrant processions of decorated chariots carrying idols of the deities, accompanied by music, dance, and devotional fervor. Devotees throng the temple to offer their prayers and seek the blessings of the goddess for protection, prosperity, and well-being.
Tiruvoodal Festival
Tiruvoodal Festival
Tiruvoodal Festival is a unique celebration held at Arunachalam Temple, where the deities of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are ceremonially separated and reunited, symbolizing the divine play of cosmic creation and dissolution. The festival is marked by elaborate rituals, including the symbolic washing of the deities' feet, followed by their procession to separate shrines, and finally, their joyous reunion amidst chanting of hymns and devotional fervor.
Conclusion
The festivals celebrated at Arunachalam Temple are not merely religious observances but vibrant expressions of faith, culture, and tradition. They serve as occasions for devotees to come together, celebrate their shared heritage, and deepen their connection with the divine. As the temple resonates with the sounds of celebration and devotion, it becomes a living embodiment of the timeless spiritual legacy of India.

Humbleness
Humbleness of mind makes suffering impossible. Actions are being made without desire of benefit and without fear of failure. Part of mind that worries on actionsâ results is no more, so there is no one to suffer. Full acceptance of actions including «yours». It is like martial arts master, who does various actions with unaltered face. Humbleness of mind equalizes you with all that exists. You are equal to earth, absolutely merged with nature, you are integral part of being. For example, if you live in forest you are integral part of forest. You are tree, you are forest dweller, you consist of earth, grass and wood. Your nature is forest.
If mind is in state of deep humbleness, nothing can harm you. If there is humbleness, grief doesnât burn and joy doesnât pride. Humbleness you can see in Annamalay Swami is impressive. Such sages muffle their senses and minimize activity. Their attention is not directed outward. They are not interested in collect experiences. Attractive things tickle senses but are not really valuable. Sages are not being deceived by illusory beauty of forms.
Donât pretend at anything, be no one. «Your» person, «your» property, «your» achievements â renounce all of it. You are no one, you have nothing, you doesnât achieve anything. It is freedom, innocence and purity.

Exploring Chennai in One Day: A Local's Guide
Chennai with solitary sojourners is by large the majority overendowed development which is highly adaptable to the construction of the village and the mall. While the shopping and temple hopping are lower on the bucket list of many others who visit the city. A Chennai local myself, I have designed a couple of one-day schedules to make sure that the visitors would get a real sense of Chennai with an already antiquarian treasure to bootit is historization, culture, and ecology. People from other nations and Indian states will also find these to be good suggestions!
The Amazing East Coast Road (ECR) Journeys
First off, if you are an early bird and love the day you would not want to miss a sunrise at Elliot's Beach. Also, make sure you to include the Sebastian Schmidt Memorial and the Broken Bridge in your must-visit list. Then, go to the ashram of the elephant (Vinayaka) and the temple of the Marundeeswarar in Thiruvanmiyur. List of the places which include Crocodile Bank and Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary which is perfect for birdwatching. Mahabalipuram, being a UNESCO world heritage site, is an almost necessary-and-essence-to-experience place with its spectacular cut-out rock monuments. After a picnic in Mahabalipuram beach, take your family to Crocodile Bank or Dakshinachitra in the afternoon. How about a half-day at the Dakshinachitra museum of living traditions or even visit the Crocodile Bank? The sun sets behind a rock here which is called a Shore Temple. It stands magnificently and is distinctly visible from afar. Catch
2. British and Dutch Heritage
Start your trip at Royapuram Station which is the Indian subcontinent's Oldest operational station. Explore the Armenian Church, the Madras High Court and the Dravidian style temple- Kapaleeswarar Temple. Turn left on the ECR to stop and look at one of Sadras (Sadurangapattinam) or Alhambra (Alamparai) was the stronghold of the Dutch.
3. Nature Loverâs Day
Depart at first light from here at Pallikkaranai Marsh Lands after the birdies had left their hatcheries. Seek Keerti Food Plaza and Matruchhaya for additional birdwatching and the globally acclaimed Adi Kesava Perumal Temple to secure one of the world's largest and oldest banyan trees. As evening comes, either go to Adyar Estuary or Kelambakkam for birdwatching. Have your last few moments near the quieter Sholinganallur Beach. If you're there from January to March, you can join the "Turtle Walk" in Neelankarai organized to save the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle eggs.
4. Adventure and Activity
Trekking spots such as Tada, Nagari, and Nagala, are among the key trekking spots in Chennai.
5. Alternative Adventure
One of the things to do when visiting Chennai is the Climbing of Pallavaram Hill. It is the best spot to enjoy the planes taking off at the Chennai airport. Diversifying your outdoor experiences could be a good idea if you visit the abandoned stone quarry at Ottiyambakkam to take a swim or go for speed boating and kayaking at Mudaliyarkuppam if you are in Mudaliyarkuppam.
6. Southward Journey
I can't help but feel awe at the prospect of visiting Arignar Anna Zoological Park where the Lion and Deer Safari takes place. New temples to explore in Madambakkam - Dhenupurishwarar Temple and 10th-century inscriptions at Uthiramerur, are both sights to check out on your next journey. One of the options for ending your day in Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is watching the sunset over the water and birds taking flight.
7. Northward Journey
Go to Madras to get mesmerized by the appealing draws such as the Madras High Court and Armenian Church and then proceed to Pulicat where you can enjoy a relaxing boat ride and also do birdwatching. Pass by the Dutch Cemetery and Annamalai church to witness the total number of flamingos present there. If you are among the lucky ones, you can get a chance to see a rocket taking off from Sriharikota.
8. Marina and Mylapore
If you start your walk on Marina Beach, you will have a great experience and will also make a point to go up to the Marina Lighthouse during the visit. After that, you may head for the Santhome Cathedral, Kapaleeswarar Temple, and Sri Ramakrishna Math. Take advantage of the Margazhi Festival in Mylapore, which is held in December and January and is dedicated to dance, drama, and music.
9. Food and Shopping
Treat yourself to a traditional Tamilian breakfast served at the famous Saravana Bhavan where global vegetarian gastronomy has been a priority since 1981. Walk down the street jewelry/accessories shops where you could buy items that you like and taste young tender coconut water, later. Check out the decorations available at Vijaya Temple and Shanti and also, visit Rangachari or Radha Silks (Rasi) for an amazing hen party pre-wedding celebration shopping spree. Grand Sweets & Snacks and The legendary Adyar Anand Bhavan in T Nagar are two of the top restaurants that offer excellent vegetarian food. You can purchase products from the revolutionary multi-storey building that opened in Pondy Bazaar very recently. Besant Nagar is a great place for meals, with its street food stalls and the popular Murugan Idli Kadai serving the best food in the city thatâs almost open throughout the day.
10. Day Trip to Kanchipuram
If Chennai is no longer competitive in the race for sightseeing, plan to visit Kanchipuram. The Mission is a non-profit organization that uplifts the transgender community among other social projects that include agriculture and animal welfare in Bengaluru and Kanchipuram. You might want to visit several temples as the nectar of paradise is hidden there and remain for the most part unaltered. Additionally, you could also be among the tour group who visit cooperatives where you.
11. Day Trip to Pondicherry
If you enjoyed Mother Natureâs beauty to the great extent in the Mabam Church, then why donât you head along and visit Pondicherry to get a taste of French culture? Explore its resort buildings and beach, as well as cafes and food joints near the beach and Pondy.
Public transportation is provided by buses, trains, Ola, Uber, autos, and share autos. Hiring a car for a day is also a convenient option. If you need a place to stay, you can find hourly hotels in Chennai where you can check-in or check-out any time, including FabHotel Pearl, Hotel Ammu Palace, and Zingle Stay, whose flexibility will not disappoint you.

Your ranting about how glorious communism is hilarious and pathetic on so many levels.
Your beloved Marx was a useless leech who never held a job all his life and lived off the money Engels made from the factory he owned. Engels himself came from a wealthy family who owned textile factories. He spent his whole life living off the working class he supposedly speaks up for. Not to mention his stupid ideas have failed in every country they were implemented, with disastrous consequences.
âTotalitarian states can never be communistâ LMFAO if thereâs anyone who needs to amp up their IQ and pick up a book itâs you. Every communist nation ended up a totalitarian hellscape. Ever heard of gulags? Go read an actual history book besides the trash penned by Marx.
Also, communists donât give a damn about the working class. Theyâre all words and no action. Every shit-for-brains commie Iâve known hailed from a wealthy family and/or are nepo babies with too much money and too little brains. This is made ample by your undoubted hatred for Modi - a minister who actually hails from the working class. Annamalai too, in Tamil Nadu, is the son of a farmer but youâll go and lick the boots of depraved wealthy turds like Stalin and his family of morons. Itâs all about parroting the right words for you losers - the moment a working class person doesnât see eye-to-eye with you, you brand them âclass traitorsâ who are nothing more than bourgeoisie Lite. Think like me, vote like me, act like me, else youâre a traitor - and somehow weâre supposed to believe youâre NOT fascist. LOL.
Lastly - do you genuinely have anything useful to do in life besides being obsessed with hindublr and stalking our blogs? I reblogged this post months ago, and Iâve never interacted with you before, though I recognise you as the useless troll who goes around bothering my mutuals and constantly embarrasses themselves online. Go read actual literature and history besides the cesspool of demented ideas scrambled into incoherent words by fools whoâve had nothing better to do in their lives. I recommend J Sai Deepak as a starting point.
This is the first and last time Iâm gonna bother interacting with a turd like you. Fuck off my blog and leave us alone. Pathetic weirdo.
Marxists are not found in farms or factories; they are found in colleges or government bureaucracy
Or, like Marx himself, the Marxists are found freeloading on trust-funds, or wealthy family and friends.
People who work for a living to produce tangible goods do not dream of a world in which some nebulous "other" is forced to provide them tangible goods for free.
Laborers dream only of a world in which no one makes their labor harder than it needs to be, and no one takes the fruits of their labor away from them without adequate compensation.
But people who only know how to place obstacles in other people's way and to take resources from others, will necessarily dream only of a world in which they have unlimited power to make life harder for the people they do not like, and to take as many resources as they want from people they do not like.
Marxists want to believe they can "manage" humanity into paradise because they are managers, not builders.
Marxists cannot understand the concept of "building" humanity into paradise. Building things is "beneath" a Marxist; anyone who builds things for a living is an enemy, and all enemies must be forced to build things that the Marxist gets for free.
Because the Marxist always wants for free something that cost someone else to make, they have no reason to ever achieve "true communism" because that would mean they have to get down in the dirt with the hideous factory workers and farmers they hate so much.
And then when their totalitarian state crumbles and falls around them, they dismiss their failure as "not true communism".
#I mentioned J Sai Deepak because I KNOW itâd piss you off LOL#not like youâre smart enough to actually pick up his books unfortunately#fucking freak LMAOO so pathetically obsessed with us#sorry u r in love with the hindublr community and canât stay away from us#we hate u though

ANNAMALAI SWAMI REMEMBERED
Self-correction: âThe sun is simply bright. It does not correct anyone.â
Bhagavan taught that one should reform oneself rather than find fault with others. In practical terms, this means that one should find the source of one's own mind rather than make complaints about other people's minds and actions.
I can remember a typical reply that Bhagavan gave on this subject.
A devotee, who was quite intimate with Bhagavan, asked him, âSome of the devotees who live with Bhagavan behave very strangely. They seem to do many things that Bhagavan does not approve of. Why does Bhagavan not correct them?'
Bhagavan replied, 'Correcting oneself is correcting the whole world. The sun is simply bright. It does not correct anyone.
Because it shines the whole world is full of light. Transforming yourself is a means of giving light to the whole world.'
Once, while I was sitting in the hall, someone complained to Bhagavan about one of the devotees who was sitting there: 'He is not meditating here; he is just sleeping.' 'How can you know that?' retorted Bhagavan. 'Only because you yourself gave up your meditation to look at him! First, see yourself and don't concern yourself with other people's habits.'
Bhagavan sometimes used to say: 'Some people who come here have two aims: they want Bhagavan to be perfect and they want the ashram to be perfect. To achieve this goal they make all kinds of complaints and suggestions. They don't come here to correct themselves; they only come here to correct others.
These people don't seem to remember the reason why they came to Bhagavan in the first place If they do one namaskaram to us they think that the ashram is then their kingdom. Such people think that we ought to behave like their slaves, only doing whatever they think we ought to do.â
