"Landscape with red rectangle", oil on cardboard, 2018, Anna Brzeska, The painting is part of the "Painted landscapes" series. I was inspired by the Polish countryside to take up this theme. The landscape of fields, meadows and forests of Mazovia became for me a way out to study the correlation of color and shape. Building the picture, I began by deconstructing the landscape to re-emerge its essence. I interpret the landscape as a geometric arrangement of shapes and colors.
