AA Rarepair Week Day 3 - AU (Pyre AU)
Daley Vigil x Evie Vigil (Dalevie?)
[From the depths of her mind, you hear Evie cry out.]
[What happened to you, my love?  Has the Downside been so cruel to you that you have forgotten everything?]
[Even me…?]
[Please, you must remember something…anything.]
[After all…I let myself be cast down so we could finally reunite…]

Sherlock Holmes Best Moments Part 11
This man really doesn’t stop. He invented hair dye!
Part 1        Part 2           Part 3        Part 4          Part 5
Part 6        Part 7          Part 8         Part 9         Part 10
Huh... That’s actually impressive to make
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, how many of you were waiting for this moment? The red hair is blinding!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You just want the money for the rent. Though, I'm going to be honest, in the English translation, I seriously thought he was going to say “I’ll be your new husband!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it is a tragedy we don’t have a Mrs. Hudson. She would seriously be amazing! Also blue hair
Tumblr media
I have to say, this whole sequence really changed the mood. And nice foreshadowing on the box art! Not kidding, look at the great ace attorney 2. Gregson is turned away from everyone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He really had an impact on the characters and I can’t imagine how Gina felt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Sherlock blamed himself. Which really added to the changed mood of the game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, time to avenge him! We are not letting the culprit get away with this!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to end on a happy note. Gina was really working hard!

And Dadlock

Leaked DGS2 Localised Names
Following on from my previous post (here), last month’s leaks also contained the localised names of the characters who debuted in Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2. Beware of potential spoilers, especially since the existence of certain characters in this game is a spoiler in itself. This list will not include characters who already made their debut in DGS1.
The Adventure of the Blossoming Attorney
Minor Changes: Ryuutarou Naruhodou -> Ryutaro Naruhodo (accents removed) Seishirou Jigoku -> Seishiro Jigoku (accents removed)
Major Changes:
Haori Murasame -> Rei Membami A “haori” is an article of Japanese clothing, and “Murasame” comes from the Japanese for a “passing shower”. “Rei Membami” is a pun on “remember me”, referring to her admiration and affection for Susato.
Heita Mamemomi -> Raiten Menimemo “Mamemomi”, as well as being satisfying to say, comes from “memoru”, “to write a memo”. “Raiten Menimemo” is a play on “writing many memo(s).”
The Memoirs of the Clouded Kokoro
No Changes: Duncan Ross Selden
Minor Changes: Mrs Altamont -> Quinby Altamont (gives her a first name, “queen bee” pun)
Major Changes:
William Petenshy -> William Shamspeare  “Petenshy” comes from a Japanese word for “crook”, and “William” is a reference to William Shakespeare. “Shamspeare” = “sham” + “Shakespeare”, hinting at his deceitful nature.
Decargo Mieterman -> Adron B. Metermann “Decargo” derives from “dekai ago” meaning “big chin”, describing his appearance. The “Mieterman” pun originally meant “saw it all” (”mitta man”) but has been adapted into “meter man”, since he works with gas meters. “Adron B.” sounds like “a drone bee”, referring to his design/connection to Mrs Altamont.
The Return of the Great Departed Soul
No Changes: Toby Gotts (I am NOT writing out his whole name) Enoch Drebber Courtney Sithe Masked Disciple
Minor Changes: Maria Goulloyne -> Maria Gorey (changed to make the pun work)
Major Changes:
Benjamin Dobinbough -> Albert Harebrayne “Dobinbough” comes from “do binbou” meaning “very poor”. “Albert” is a reference to Albert Einstein, and “Harebrayne” comes from “hare-brained”, someone who is rash and makes foolish decisions.
Elyder Meningen -> Odie Asman His Japanese name is a pun on “erai dame ningen”, “incredibly bad person”. Meningen is also a character in the Holmes novels. “Odie Asman” keeps the pun with “odious man”.
Rumba Marmatch -> Balthazar Lune “Rumba” is a phonetic rearrangement of the Japanese “barun” (balloon), and the “maru” in “Marmatch” means “round”. “Balthazar Lune” keeps the balloon pun (“Bal... Lune”). “Lune” means “moon”, which also gives a “round” impression.
Connette Rozaic -> Esmerelda Tusspells “Connette” comes from “koneru”, “to knead” (a word related to clay-working); “Rozaic” comes from “rozaiku” meaning “waxworks”. The localisation seems to have gone for witchy puns instead, with “Tusspells” being a combination of “Tussauds” (a famous real-life British waxwork museum) and “spells”.
Twisted Karma & His Last Bow
No Changes: Venus Sandwich Gossip
Minor Changes: Harry Barricade -> Barry Caiden (changed to make name more natural)
Major Changes:
Anna Mittlemont -> Evie Vigil “Mittlemont” sounds like “miteiru mono”, a person who watches. This is preserved in “Vigil”. Additionally, “Evie” sounds like “eve” or “evening”, making her name similar to “evening vigil”.
Everyday Mittlemont -> Daley Vigil His full Japanese name roughly sounds like “a person who watches every day”; a “daily vigil” is more or less the same thing.
Maurice de Quilco -> Fabien de Rousseau “de Quilco” comes from “dekiru ko”, “capable child”. “Maurice” is a French name. “Fabien” is also a French name, and “Rousseau” sounds like “rouge” meaning “red” in French, a reference to his hair.
Marco di Gicho -> Peppino di Rossi Similarly to de Quilco, “di Gicho” comes from “dojikko”, meaning “clumsy child”. “Marco” is an Italian name. “Peppino” is also an Italian name, and “Rossi” comes from “rosso”, Italian for “red”, again referring to his hair.
The Resolve of Ryuunosuke Naruhodou
Minor Changes: Genshin Asougi -> Genshin Asogi (accents removed Klimt van Zieks -> Klint van Zieks (changed to make name more natural) Ann Sasha -> Asa Shinn (changed to preserve the pun)
Major Changes: Mapotov Stroganov -> Tchikin Strongenov The “stroganov” change is the same as his brother’s from DGS1, but “Mapotov” (Mapo tofu is a Chinese tofu dish) changes to “Tchikin” (chicken, which is also a type of stroganoff).
Let me know if I missed anyone, or if I’ve missed out on any puns!
