however, thanks to his deadbeat australian father, and his mother attempting to make it work, the family moved to australia when nate was four, not returning until his mother told his father to go fuck himself for good (they had been off and on for awhile by that point anyways), when nate was thirteen

aka nate has felix’s real australian accent

so not fully local to the hamptons, but local enough i.e not well off and annoyed by all the rich folk that descend on the place every summer

worked as a pool boy and mowed lawns and shit during the summer once he moved back as a teen to make some extra cash, so rubbed shoulders with a lot of rich kids, which just made him more bitter about all of it
