since the 2025 Precure official trademarking is near to come, I think it's a perfect time for me to say some themes I would like to see in a Precure season in the future :3

idols (as in the group are all actual idols and their idol life is an important part of the story)

traditional Japanese inspired uniforms the closest we ever got to this is the Cure Fortune Anmitsu Komachi form in HapCha and seeing an entire season like that would be cool

fairies / elemental beings in general I just think they're neat

books / literature. imagine a Cure team where every one of them is themed after a different genre...

Is the real evil once it is revealed that he is the one who controlled Mirage. He went under the alias Deep Mirror to serve as Queen Mirage's adviser, who locates things for her while secretly controlling her.

He turned out to be Red Planet's god and the younger brother of Blue.

His Saiarks have red scarves.

Queen Mirage/Cure Mirage - Blonde Nine Tailed Fox (Evil)/Black Fox (Mobian)/Coral Red Two Tailed Fox (Cure)

Is the ruler of the Phantom Empire.

Before she became evil, she was a shrine maiden in Pikarigaoka and a Cure named Cure Mirage.

She was once in love with Blue, but his feelings were not as strong because he had many duties as a deity and could not fall in love with a regular human, breaking her heart. She then became evil, rejecting all love and happiness in the world.

Her Saiarks have blue scarves and creates a fog and utter chaos.

Phantom/Cure Unlovely/PhanPhan - Iwakuni White Snake/Dark Pink Sheep/Cure Chao (Dark Chao)

Is the elite general of the Phantom Empire.

He is courageous and unruffled and refers to himself as "The Pretty Cure Hunter."

He is incredibly loyal to Queen Mirage.

He defeated many Pretty Cures worldwide, including Cure Tender, Cure Fortune's elder sister.

When he purifyed it is revealed that he is the former fairy partner of Mirage named PhanPhan, who was brainwashed by Red and turned into Phantom.

His Saiarks have white scarves and spread purple crystals and mines throughout the area.

Oresky - Gila Monster

A general of the Phantom Empire.

He is part of the Oresky Trio with Hosshiwa and Namakelder, serving as their leader.

His Saiarks have yellow scarves and create barren wastelands and dark clouds.

Namakelder - Light Green Grasshopper (Evil)/Dark Green Grasshopper (Good)

A general of the Phantom Empire.

His Saiarks have green scarves and spread mold across the area. 

Hosshiwa - Light Blue Poodle (Evil)/Dark Blue Poodle (Good)

A general of the Phantom Empire.

She is a spoiled, wealthy lady who desires everything, especially her beloved sweets.

Her Saiarks have pink scarves and turn the area into one with chocolate, cakes and other sweets and desserts.

Madam Momere - Purple Arctic Fox

A general of the Phantom Empire.

She is a flamboyant lady who loves it when her opponents argue among each other.

She fights the Alo~ha Pretty Cure in Hawaii.

Her Saiarks have purple scarves and freeze the area around them.

When battling against Phantom, with Iona watching them, she was defeated after taking an attack from Phantom intended for Iona.

Later Iona is brainwashed by Queen Mirage and turned into Dark Tender.

Seiji is Megumi's neighbor, and childhood friend.

Seiji loves martial arts and diligently trains every day at the Hikawa Style Karate Dojo.

He harbors a secret crush on Megumi.

Seiji gets brainwashed by Red in order to defeat the Happiness Charge! Cures and Blue but is ultimately saved by them.

Hiroko Sagara - Leopard (has brown hair)

Is Seiji's mother.

Is a reporter. She is reporting about Japan and other countries' Pretty Cures.

She is the teacher for Megumi's class in Pikarigaoka Middle School.

Oh boy, will I ever. :)

So after @fourphoenixfeathers made her Precure AU, that got my own gears turning because of course. I love Precure. It's my jam. I had to make a magical girl AU of my own clearly! But I decided to go for a different route. Instead of Ingo and Emmet being magical boys, I decided to go a slightly more traditional route and have Akari be the magical girl of choice. She has to fight against the frenzied Nobles of Hisui, except:

she has to fight against all of them. they all frenzy.

She's not a time traveler. She's actually native to that time period and is an orphan who works for the survey corps under the guidance of Professor Laventon.

Real dad Laventon hours!!

She transforms using the ArcPhone.

She has a team that consists of Sylveon, Finneon, Blissey, Lilligant, Togekiss, and Gardevoir... but has one extra Pokemon beside that. It's not native to Hisui.

It's a Floette. That can talk. He's her fairy partner! He's verrry helpful.

The Floette is Emmet.

Arceus voice: So you want to see your brother again, and you'll do anything for that?

There was a question as to why Splash Star wasn’t included, the reason is that I just forgot... And Mahou Tsukai Alexandrite wasn’t included because I felt it looked more like a powerup than alternate form, but I guess that’s just a technicality and it’s not like the Go! Princess category had any such rules either so I probably should just have included it too.

Categorizing Precure by Hair Style (Cure ver.)

Again, Precure hair in general is too weird to try to categorize them normally but at least this was easier than the hair types one.

Same rules from the civilian version applies here so go read that first so I don’t have to repeat myself.

Oh, and along with some double features, this includes some Form Changes as well. Not all, but some.

**Regarding the inclusion of some Form Changes. If the Cure’s hair style isn’t that different from how it looks in their main form, then to avoid redundancy, they won’t be included (ex. Egret’s hair does not change at all when she switches to Windy form).

However, if a Form Change is styled more dramatically than how it is in their main Cure form, then they count. For example, Cure Lovely changing to Cherry Flamenco doesn’t because they both sport just a regular ponytail. Cure Fortune, on the other hand, wears a ponytail in all her forms but each ponytail is distinct from each other (regular for normal Cure form, cone-shaped for Pine Arabian and a ponytail going through an intricate bun for Anmitsu Komachi).

Down - Less Cures wear their hair down compared to their civilian selves. Not surprised.

Mermaid’s hair is made of water so um, I don’t even know if you can style it in any other way than just a blob of water? lol

Scarlet and Ange gave me trouble (especially Scarlet!) because the top of their hair is quite higher than where the top of their skull should be. I know a headband (tiara in Scarlet’s case) can really push someone’s hair back but I’m not sure it can elevate it to that height. So I’m thinking Scarlet might have hers tied up beneath her tiara. Ange’s, however, is too voluminous to even fit in a hairband so I don’t know what’s really going on there.

Then again, that’s hardly the strangest case. I mean, Mint’s is practically a nest with the rest splitting into two long individual strands behind her. (@ _@ ;;)

Ponytails & Tails - Wow. I was sure that that ponytails and twintails were going to even out but apparently not. If you take out the Form Changes, there’s even less twintailed Cures than ponytailed Cures.

EDIT 5/7/20 - I was told Grace (and Flora) apparently has partial tails. Didn’t believe it at first but then this was sent to me:

And now I can’t be anything but convinced. Yea, it really was one of those “Eh?! No way!” moments and goes to show how tricky character design can be.

Thanks @vodka-blueberry for the photo! I’m still waiting on Flora, btw.

EDIT 5/8/20 - Had some further discussion w/ @vodka-blueberry that if Flora’s hair was all loose under that bun, a separate section of hair shouldn’t be visible like it is here:

Basically, if you follow the same idea as Grace’s concept, which is so blatantly borrowed from Flora’s design anyway, then it becomes easier to spot.

Braids - I almost forgot about the braids in Melody and Rhythm’s hair since you can barely see them if you’re not looking from the top or the side. If I’m missing anyone else, please let me know.

Anyways, yep, I definitely need more Cures with braids~

Buns - Buns are so cute, tbh. I’m glad we’re seeing more of them in recent seasons. :D
