Imagine MC called Mammon's name the most.
Can't decide what food they should prepare?
"Mammon?"
Have some project or papers to do?
"Mammon!"
Some lower demons treat them wrong?
"Mammon!!"
Nothing on their mind, but just
"Maaaammon~!!"
When they are angry with their first demon?
"Maaaammon—!!!"
Our dear Avatar of Greed complains it but NEVER ask MC stop it.
And both of their the pact mark always shining with molten gold color when MC call his name.

Chapter 1 Chapter 2
tara carpenter x fem!reader
summary: The morning after party seeing Tara in your house wasn’t something you would expect and why the hell you weren’t bothered by that at all?
tags: slow burn, enemies to lovers, alcohol, throwing up, bickering, roller-coaster ride, curse words, memories
word count: 2.6k
Tumblr media
The next day you woke up. Yesterday night you didn´t lose yourself much, like Chad for example. You weren´t a fan of alcohol or more like drinking somewhere where there are a lot of people you don´t know.
As you stood up from your bed and made your way into the living room you could smell something sweet. Your face turned into confusion.
What´s that?
You slowly walked into your kitchen and you saw Tara behind the counter, making food. You raised eyebrows at the scene in front of you. The girl turned around and realized you were standing there.
Good morning.“ She said as she smiled at you. You were still looking at her with a confused face. She seemed different like she wasn´t the girl you were used to.
„Hey?“
She slowly walked towards you, smiling softly with playful eyes. „Why that long face?“ she asked as she was playing with her hands behind her back, looking up at you.
„What are you doing?“ you asked looking up behind her at the kitchen counter, still processing what was going on.
„Food silly.“ she smiled widely and put her arms around your neck. „For you.“ She whispered looking still into your eyes. She was so close you could feel her breath on your skin.
What the fuck is happening?!
You started to sweat and your breathing was getting faster by every second. Then when you felt like you were getting zero air into your lungs, your eyes opened and you sat on your bed.
You quickly looked around you with eyes wide open, touching yourself on both arms and chest. As if you were making sure you were real. Then you realize you are in your room, in your bed. It was a dream.
„What the fuck?!“
You stood up from the bed, tripping over the blanket as you tried to stand up fast from the bed.
You ran into the kitchen but was only met with nothing. Everything was where it was supposed to be, not a single change. You looked around one more time when suddenly you heard a groan from the living room.
,,You stomp like an elephant.”
You rolled your eyes at the comment. You knew who it was, now you remember clearly.
That little dwarf.
You went into the living room and saw the brunette laying on her stomach. One of her legs was over the edge of the couch, the same as her arm, and the blanket was on the ground. It was weird position but, whatever works for her.
Maybe short people have different sleeping positions.
,,You won’t say anything?” She asked again, and she lifted her head a little in your direction. Her hair was everywhere along with her mascara.
,,You look ugly.” You replayed with your morning voice and left the living room. After that you felt the soft pillow hit your back.
You just laughed at her when you heard her saying something under her nose as you kept walking away.
-
That day you and your friends went to the theme park. It wasn´t probably the best idea, Chad was currently throwing up in some bush. And you went to just on a carousel. Really slow carousel.
It´s not like you were telling him to go with you. He was the one that wanted to go, saying that he was fine.
„You okay buddy?“ you tapped his back, giving him some tissues. He nodded and stood up straight.
„Never better.“ He looked at Mindy. „Can we go again?“
See? He wasn´t even touched by a situation that he was in just a couple of seconds ago.
„No, definitely not.“ She grabbed him by the arm and started to walk him somewhere. Probably toilets. Her voice was fading away as they were getting far by each step, still scolding him.
You were standing there with just Tara, Anika, Ethan, and his sister Quinn. Not knowing where to go without the two siblings. You sighed and went to sit on the bench as you were waiting for them to come back.
It was fun at first, you all laughed at the slow ride and enjoyed the cool weather in your hair. Then all of a sudden Chad´s face got a little green and he just bent forward with his hand on his stomach.
You smiled a little as you repeated the scene in your head again.
„Can we go to that next?“ Tara asked as she was pointing at the big roller coaster above your heads. The people who were currently on the ride were screaming with their eyes closed and hands up in the air.
You raised your eyebrows as you were looking up at the switchback. „You sure they would let you in?“ you asked the girl. „They have a height restriction there.“ you continued with a little smirk.
Tara´s smile slowly fell and was now looking at you with angry eyes. „Oh, I´m more worried about you. You look like you just shit in your pants by only looking at it.“ She said with a provocative voice. „You don´t have to hide your fear by camouflaging it with something else.“
„Says a girl who won´t even get there because she stopped growing in kindergarten.“
„At least I´m not scared of a ride for kids!“
„For kids? So you just wanted to go among your own?“
„What did you say you fuckin-“
You continued your bickering without realizing Mindy and Chad already came back. Everyone was just ignoring the two of you, already used to it.
„I´m not scared!“
„You are! Why else you would not want to go there?“
You breathed out through your nose as you were shooting daggers at the girl in front of you. You didn´t want to admit it but from that crazy roller coaster, you were feeling respect. But you were not scared... or were you? No, you needed to prove it to her and maybe to yourself too.
Your legs started to shake a little with adrenaline as you were now standing in the row full of people waiting for the ride.
Tara was beside you, smiling mischievously at the ride and then back at you. Your hands were getting wet and your heart couldn´t keep up.
It´s just a stupid ride.
As you got into your seats and you got locked in your chest was rising faster. Tara was beside you smiling and holding onto the railing in front of her tightly.
You looked down at your friends who were standing under the roller coaster laughing at you with their phones in their hands. Your eyes were pleading with help and before you could say something to them the ride started.
Throughout the whole time, you and Tara were screaming at the top of your lungs. The brunette beside you was screaming because of excitement and you were yelling because of fear. You just wanted it to end already.
It went up and down, right and left. The worst part was the one when you went all the way to the top and suddenly came down at high speed.
When it ended your hair was everywhere and your eyes were wide. Your legs were shaking and as soon as you felt the touch of the ground you fell onto your knees with happiness across your face.
„Thank you!“ you yelled into the sky.
Tara was still laughing hard beside you, holding her stomach and her dimples on display.
It has been such a long time since you have seen them. You almost forgot how they look. They were bored deep into her cheeks, just like the last time.
Mindy ran in your direction with others laughing at you. „Are you guys okay?“ You were taking deep breaths in and out as you were looking up at Mindy, still on the ground.
„It was fine.“ You quickly stood up and brushed your knees as if you didn´t just have a panic attack. Tara laughed at your answer humorously.
„You almost started crying up there.“
„I did not!“ Your face had a deep color of red all around your cheeks, clearly embarrassed from it.
„Oh boy look at this!“ Chad pointed out at the photo of you and Tara on the roller coaster. „They took a photo of you two!“
When everybody got the chance to see it they instantly started laughing. In the photo were you and Tara with open mouths, screaming. Your hair went with the wind and speed of the ride and your hands were holding each other tightly.
You don´t even remember it. Your eyes were wide open showing fear but Tara´s were close. She looked really happy in that photo.
„Wha- They fucking photoshopped it! I didn´t look like that!“ you yelled as you pointed at your face in the picture. You refuse to believe that.
„Oh you are such a sissy!“ Tara laughed at you and held her hand before her mouth.
„I´m not!“ you scrunched your nose and folded your arms on your chest as you looked away from your laughing friends.
Oh, you were such a kid.
You were trying to throw the photo into the trash can but Tara wanted to keep it, saying she wants to remember your scared face forever. She couldn’t be more excited to tease you about it later.
-
 You loved most of your childhood memories. You loved bringing yourself back to the good times when everything was so simple. Well, that time it was hard and you didn´t understand a lot of things.
When people say “I would want to go back in time with my current thinking“ you know what they mean.
You were pretty stupid, keeping your mouth shut in times when you needed to say something. You always wanted to protect everyone from everything and be a good friend even to those who didn´t deserve it. But who protected you? It was always easier for you to protect someone else than yourself.
You were currently sitting on your bed, in your dad’s house. The bag in which you brought clothes in was beside your legs. You wanted to stay here for the weekend, just take a rest from school and fast life.
This house brought you a lot of memories. It was enough to just look somewhere like the faded colors of your room or the porch swing that was behind the house. The ticking clock in the hallway that you hated because of how they were loud in the night and the smell of the flowers that were decorating the garden. Or the photos that were hanging on almost every wall in the house.
This was yours and you felt safe here.
-
„Oh my, I missed this so much.“ You said as you were chewing on the burger in your hand. Your dad laughed at you as he was turning around some meat on the grill.
The both of you were sitting outside on the wooden chairs by the big oak table. Your father built this a couple of years ago, like half of the things in the house. He loved the handmade things and enjoyed doing them.
Behind you was an orange sunset that was slowly fading because of the hills that were covering the sun. You could hear the crickets in the distance and the gentle wood cracking in the fire. The soft warm wind was bringing you the smell of the roasted vegetables and meat.
You talked about the city and your school. He asked about your friends and how are they. Your dad loves them. He remembers a lot of times when you brought them to your house and how he laughed a lot of times at you. He loved spending time with you and every time your friends came he couldn´t say no.
When it got dark you cleaned everything and went to the house. You wanted to spend time with him as much as possible so you offered to watch some games on TV.
„Last week I was cleaning the loft and I found this.“ He said as he sat beside you on the couch.
You looked confused at the box he was holding in his hands. Just from the looks you could tell it was really old, on the top of it was left dust that wasn´t well wiped. „What´s that?“
He gave the box into your hands. „Look.“
You opened the top of the box with scrunched eyebrows. In the box were photos. Your family photos. Most of them were yours from when you were a toddler to your first day in kindergarten and school. Your graduation photo.
There were also photos from every year with your classmates. You could see how you were changing each year. There were some of the family celebrations like birthdays or vacation photos.
As you were browsing through the photos your eye caught two photos. The first one was when you were in first grade in school. It was a couple of weeks after you started to go to school.
In the photo were standing four kids. You, Mindy, Chad, and Tara. You laughed at the image. Mindy was the tallest of all of you at that time. You and Tara were the same height and Chad was a little shorter than you. The four of you were wearing school uniforms and on your backs were big school bags.
You put the photo away and now you were looking at the second photo. Your face became stoic as your eyes were scanning the photo.
You were holding that for a couple of seconds like you were remembering something. Your dad was still looking at you, trying to read your face.
-
It was a sunny day in the middle of summer. It was one of the hot days when you could almost feel the warm rays of the sun.
Laughing and yelling could be heard around the playground in a park. Parents were sitting on benches looking out for their children on talking to each other. It was perfect weather for taking a walk in the park to hide from the fierce sun.
Tara was just 7 at that time. She was swaying on one of the swings nearby, enjoying the air that flew through her loose hair. Her legs went up and down at every change of the swing position. Her hands tightly held the chains on both sides, carefully so she won´t fall.
She slowly stopped and was now just sitting there looking around her. Kids were chasing each other around, climbing on a small caste to slide down the slide or they were playing with sand.
Suddenly she felt pressure on her back and she was forced to fall in front of her. The sudden movement made her fall into her knees and palms of her hands, barely keeping herself up. Tara´s first reaction was to look at the part of her body that was in pain, her palms were stretched from the small stones that were at the ground.
The small girl could hear a laugh from behind her. There were three boys that Tara knew from the school, they were a year older than her and were always doing bad things to others.
„Oh, my bad! Didn´t see you there!“ One of them laughed and went to sit on the swing that she sat on before. The other two kept laughing at her, she was still on the ground looking at them. She slowly stood up and brushed her knees. Tara saw how her knees were red and dirty from the fall on the ground.
„What? Don´t tell me you want to cry?“
Tara´s eyes started to water. She felt scared and alone. Suddenly the boy that was on the swing was pushed hard on the ground, exactly like Tara was. His hands didn´t catch him in time and he fell right onto his face.
Tara and the two other boys were standing there shocked at what just happened. You were standing behind the swing with angry eyes. You then looked at the two boys that were beside you and took a step in their direction. That made them run away from the three of you.
The boy that was on the ground touched his hurt face. He noticed that on his palm was blood and not from the ground. But from his nose.
„You want to cry?“ you asked him as you were walking to him. His face was dirty and under his nose was a little blood. Scared of what would you do next he wanted to quickly stand up and run away but you were fast to grab him by the sleeve of his shirt.
„Don´t ever do that again.“ You told him and pushed him again. Then you looked at Tara and saw her just standing there with her big brown eyes. She was your best friend at the time.
You went to her and with your small arms hugged her. She thanked you and you went to help her treat her wound. After that, you came back and played together till your parents called you home.
Tara was smiling the whole time she was with you. With her deep dimples and shiny eyes.
-
The photo you were holding was you with Tara, standing beside each other. One of your arms was around her shoulders and hers was around your waist. Both of you had wide smiles across your faces.
You almost forget about it. You used to have the biggest crush on Tara. She was your first-ever friend. Even before Mindy. She was the reason you begged your dad to let you be outside a little longer or you would run to school or the playground just so you could see her. You would always protect her from everyone and everything, make her laugh and spend time with her.
You shook your head at the memory with a small smile. Funny how time changes.

Tara Capenter x Fem!reader

Tumblr media
You look at your phone as a new order goes through. You take a look at the address,
“Not too far from here” you mutter you don’t bother looking at the name of the order before walking inside the pizza restaurant.
You go into the kitchen,
“Hey Scarlett” you say, smiling at your friend, she turns to you.
“Hey Y/n! You here for another delivery?” She asks you,
“Yep! Last one of the night then I’m off” you say.
She hands you the pizza box and drinks, it’s not too heavy but it weighs your arms down ever so slightly, you put it into your delivery bag and make your way out to your motorbike.
Placing the bag securely into the compartment, you get on and put your helmet on.
You look at your phone, putting the address into your gps.
//-//
“It’ll be here soon!” Tara reassures Sam who’s been complaining about how hungry she is for the past hour. She loves her sister but when Sam’s hungry she never shuts up, she has to make sure the whole world knows, whining every five seconds that her stomach hurts.
Tara sighs and looks out the window, blocking out the sounds of Sam’s complaints, she smiles widely when a motorbike pulls up, she rushes to the door and opens it.
You look surprised when the door opens before you could even knock, you smile,
“Hi uh pizza delivery” You say, somewhat awkwardly, not fully looking at the girl, though she doesn’t look at you either, she’s too focused on the pizza,
“Yeah thank you” the short girl says, looking up at you.
You look at her, your mouth hanging open slightly. She has long brown hair, reaching just over her shoulders. freckles are scattered across her face. Her smile is spring but there’s autumn in her eyes, softly brown, with a hint of passing summer and the promise of winter dark and deep - Eyes you recognise.
“Wait…Y/n?” She asks, snapping you out of your day dream, you chuckle lightly,
“Oh my god Tara…you’re in my film class at college, right?” You ask, of course you already know the answer, she sits at the front row, second chair to the left nearest to the door.
Tara laughs and nods,
“Yeah I am, what a coincidence” she says with a short laugh.
“Yeah…I didn’t even see your name on the app” you say, handing her three large pizza boxes,
“Oh I ordered small pizza’s, these are larges…” she says, staring at the box.
“Oh…hold on” you check your phone,
“Oh it says here you ordered them in large” you say, showing her the phone, she frowns,
“Must’ve clicked the wrong button” she sighs.
“Happens to me all the time” you say, chuckling, she smiles at you,
“Well um…me and my friends probably won’t finish it all, and we’re having a kinda mini party, so if you want, you could come inside and eat with us?” She offers.
You chuckle and scratch the back of your neck,
“Um..” you take a moment to consider it, “oh fuck it why not, sure” you say.
Tara smiles and moves out the way of the door,
“You remember Mindy? She’s in our film class too, she’s here” She asks you. You both walk into the apartment together, you look around at the pictures she has up on her walls.
“Oh yeah, hey Mindy!” You greet her,
“Oh Y/n what’s up…” Mindy greets you, she gives a look with a smirk to Tara and a not so subtle wink, you raise a brow in confusion but wipe it off when Tara shows you all her friends, Chad, Mindy, Sam, Quinn, Anika and Ethan. You sit with Chad, talking about football.
“I have to admit, this isn’t how I thought my night would go” you say, taking a bite of a pizza, they all laugh,
“Sometimes the best things are unexpected” Quinn says,
“Since when did you get all wise and inspirational?” Sam jokes, making you all laugh.
Tara keeps sneaking glances of you, she can’t get her eyes off you, though that’s not out of the ordinary, she’s always like this in school.
Usually, she wouldn’t invite someone she only met a few days ago in this quickly, but something about you changed that. Maybe it was the aura you gave off. Maybe it was the way you always seemed slightly awkward whenever you talked to her, she found that adorable. Maybe it was the way your smile, which she always tried to steal a glimpse of in class, made her heart flutter or maybe she was just drunker than she thought. Probably all of the above.
“You guys have a nice apartment” you compliment,
“Thanks, we only moved in a month ago so it’s not fully furnished” Tara admits, you turn to her.
“Had a chance to look around the city yet?” You ask her, she shakes her head,
“Not yet…but I want to” she says.
You nod,
“I could take you sometime if you like, I’ve lived here my whole life so I know this place like the back of my hand” you offer, smiling hopefully.
Tara’s face lights up slightly.
“I’d like that…do you have a car?” She asks, you shake your head,
“I’ve got a motorbike though” you say.
Tara grins widely, grabbing your hands in hers,
“You have a motorbike?!” She exclaims, you chuckle at her enthusiasm and nod,
“Yeah I do…”
“Tara you’re not going on a motorbike” Sam says, Tara looks at her and frowns,
“Why?” She asks,
“Because they’re dangerous, no offence Y/n” she says, you nod understandingly.
“Sam it’s my life, you can’t just decide for me what I do with it” Tara says, your eyes widen slightly at the sudden outburst.
Tara let’s go of your hands as she starts bickering with her older sister.
“does this happen a lot?” You whisper to Chad, beside you, he nods,
“Yeah…a lot” he answers.
The girls continue to argue till eventually, Sam storms out to her room and Tara storms off into the kitchen.
“I’m gonna go check on Tara” you say to the others, they nod,
“Go get her tiger” Mindy jokes, you can’t help but blush and awkwardly scurry out the room.
You go into the kitchen and lean against the doorframe. Tara is on her tiptoes trying to reach a bottle of tequila that Sam put on the top shelf, purposely out of Tara’s reach.
“Need some help?” You ask,
“No…I can reach” Tara grumbles, she very clearly can’t reach, seeing as she’s two apples tall.
You chuckle and go over anyway, you go behind her, leaning up with one hand on her waist while the other reaches for the bottle.
You grab it and hand it to her, she smiles at you,
“Thank you…” she says, taking the bottle,
“No problem…just don’t get too drunk” you say.
“No promises” she jokes, grinning as she pours herself some. You lean against the counter, looking at her.
Your eyes trail over her outfit, the way it perfectly outlines her curves like always, she always picks the best outfits.
She once wore basic grey tracksuit bottoms and a baggy hoodie to school, yet still you’d never seen anything or anyone more beautiful. You don’t know how she does it.
Simp, is what your friends call you whenever they catch you watching Tara or whenever you compliment her.
“You good?” Tara asks, chuckling slightly at you as you gawp at her. You clear your throat, standing up straight as you nervously scratch the back of your neck,
“yeah yeah sorry, zoned out” you justify.
“Wanna go chill in my room? We can watch a movie maybe…” Tara recommends, you smile a bit at the idea and nod, a bit too eagerly,
“Yeah sure…” you answer.
After grabbing some snacks you both make your way into Tara’s room, she sets down the bowl of popcorn on her bed. She grabs the remote and turns on the tv, sitting down on her bed.
“Okay what movie?” She asks, you aimlessly walk around the room, looking at various things she has scattered around.
“um…The Babadook?” You request, her face lights up. You like The Babadook, that means more to her than you’ll ever realise.
“Yeah! I love that movie!” She exclaims, putting it on. You grin and sit down next to her,
“Yeah same…it’s so good” you say, leaning back against her headboard.
“Literally…like no other horror movies compare to it” she says, you chuckle and shrug,
“Well I wouldn’t say that” you trail on, she gasps and turns to you,
“Well what would you say is better?” She asks, you sigh and look at the tv, thinking about your answer.
“Halloween” you answer finally, her face drops into a look of disappointment, you turn to her and your eyes meet, you chuckle at her reaction, “what?” You ask.
“No way you just chose Halloween over The Babadook…” she mutters, astounded.
You let out a short laugh and shrug, turning back to the tv once more,
“I just prefer it…” you admit, you see her shake her head out the corner of your eye.
She has a small smile on her face, not an awkward smile or forced smile it’s more of a comfortable smile, like she’s happy where she is, and it‘s true, Tara has never felt more relaxed.
It was weird, though she barely knows you, but she feels as though she’s known you forever. Like you’re childhood best friends finding each other again after long separation.
With you she feels like she can be herself, she can show that geeky side of her without feeling embarrassed or worried you’ll mock her. She’s comfortable. Happy.
And she’s just realised she’s been staring at you for a solid hour, she mentally punches herself. The credits of the movie roll on the tv, you were probably so uncomfortable during that whole film. You turn to her with a smile.
But are slightly shocked when you realise she’s already looking at you, throughout the film you’ve wanted to sneak glances at her, but you’re worried it’ll make her uncomfortable. You didn’t even realise she was staring at you.
Tara quickly pulls her eyes away, clearing her throat,
“That was uh…yeah” she mutters, talking about the movie.
“Wanna watch Halloween?” You ask, she smiles a bit and nods, not speaking as she doesn’t trust her own voice. She’s so embarrassed she’ll probably blurt out something stupid.
You put the movie on, Tara focuses on the movie this time, being sure to not embarrass herself again. You on the other hand, you keep looking over at her, just like you do in school.
Your eyes flicking from the tv screen to her.
You notice something she does while watching. She has little reactions to what’s going on in the scenes, you chuckle slightly as she raises her eyebrows a bit, her mouth opens slightly when Micheal Myers brutally kills someone.
She looks at you, your chuckle gaining her attention.
“What?” She asks, realising you’re watching her,
“Nothing…just um watching your little reactions to the scenes…it’s cute…you’re cute” you say, smiling sheepishly at her.
Her ears burn red and so do her cheeks, she quickly looks down, trying to hide it making you chuckle again.
“You’ve gone a bit red” you comment, looking at her, she chuckles and looks at you,
“Shut up…” she mutters before leaning against your side, she gently rests her head on your shoulder.
Now it’s your turn to blush, and just like her, your ears go red, shortly followed by your face.
“Now you’re red…” she says into your neck,
“Oh shush…” you mutter.
Tara looks at you, with the way she’s sat, her lips are right by your neck. You can feel her warm breath against you it. Tara hesitantly moves in closer before laying a gentle kiss on your neck.
She moves away and lays down like nothing just happened, you look at her, shocked,
“Did you just kiss my neck?” You ask her.
Tara tries to hold back her laugh,
“What? No you’re hallucinating” she says, facing you.
You grin at her as she has a small smirk playing on her lips, you move closer to her, laying next to her, getting a sudden surge of confidence.
“Well good…cause if you did I would’ve told you that you missed” you say, she cocks a brow, trying to figure out what you mean.
“Huh?” She questions, you chuckle and move in closer, “how did I miss?” She asks, but instead of saying a response, you lean in, your lips meeting.
She gasps slightly but doesn’t pull away. She leans into the kiss, one of her hands going to your waist whereas one of yours goes into her hair, caressing through her it as you kiss her.
She opens her mouth slightly and you take the opportunity, sliding your tongue into her mouth, your salivas mixing as your tongue explores her mouth.
Though you keep one hand in her hair, you put the other on her waist, slowly trailing it down till your cupping her ass firmly, she lets out a quiet whimper into the kiss which only fuels you more.
Where she was laying on her side before you now push her so she’s on her back. Never taking your lips away from hers, you climb on top of her, straddling her waist.
“Oh my god ew!” A voice yells, you quickly get off of Tara, who whines in annoyance. She looks at the door to see Sam standing there, a hand over her eyes.
“Can’t you just knock?” Tara asks, frustrated, she grabs a pillow and covers her face to hide her embarrassment and the fact she’s blushing right now.
Sam moves her hand away from her eyes,
“Sorry…I was just gonna say Chad and Mindy are heading home” she says.
Tara puts the pillow back and sits up,
“Cool tell them I said bye” she says, trying to get this conversation over and done with.
Sam nods and looks at you expectingly, she clearly wants you to leave, probably not a great impression seeing you on top of your sister, making out with her.
“Uh I’m gonna go…” you say, getting up and grabbing your jacket, Tara sighs and nods,
“Alright…see you Monday” she says, sounding disappointed.
You smile at her,
“I’ll message you when I’m home” you tell her, her face instantly lights up,
“Okay…wait i don’t have your number” she says.
“Just message me on insta, we follow each other any way, I’ll send you my number then” you explain, she nods,
“Sounds good…” she says.
You lean over to her slightly, giving her a gentle peck on the lips, which she eagerly returns, following your lips for a bit as you pull away.
You smile at her one more time before walking out the room, giving Sam a polite and apologetic smile.

The sheep we adore so much is change, but we still love them
I love imagine how the brothers pampered MC SO MUCH
i love imagine how the royals, the angels, and our fucking teacher ALL PAMPERED MC.
They said demon would corrupt human's soul.
Remember that Thirteen said that Solomon's soul is different but still shining?
MC is the similar case.
Their soul is the shining pink sheep shape, but their their ribbons which has a bell on it, is the wool white one with the black radiant.
I believe that the ribbon was the wool white color, so why the color changes?
They're corrupted by the demons.
They're pampered by the angels.
They're spoiled by Solomon and Thirteen.
The demons, well, they all encourage MC to express what they want, what they desire, what they wish for.
Tumblr media
Lucifer rewards MC for their hard work, he enjoys the petting when only he and MC alone. But what he did the most was let MC throw a small tantrum to them.
The eldest brother believes that if MC never throws a tantrum at him or the other brothers, it means they are treating them still wrong. He gives MC the PRIVILEGE to show anger with him. Still, he seldom sees MC angry and kind of disappointed with the failure.
The Avatar of Pride doesn't know that MC cares the trust of him the most in their relationship.
MC values themselves as the one who Lucifer trust enough to take care his brothers and share his burdens. They realize how busy Lucifer is so in the most situations, MC would forgive Lucifer if he lose his temper or being too harsh when he's too busy to take a break.
And that's the reason why MC gave NB!Lucifer silent treatment when they found that Luciferr use the apple to test them.
Sort of, what Lucifer want to see in original timeline, NB! Lucifer got and he finally could use Barbatos's cake to apologize to MC.
Apologize for those misunderstandings when they were the human exchange student. Apologize for failing to protect them. Apologize for that his pride couldn't allow him to open his heart to them fully. Apologize for that he would love them even though they're not related to Lilith, but the selfish part pushes him to decide that HE CAN'T LET YOU GO.
Tumblr media
Mammon showers his love on MC in three ways: gifts, fortune, and his time.
Earrings, necklace, watch, and bags, even his treat to have dinner in Hell's Kitchen or Ristorante Six, as long as MC wants, Mammon would try to fulfill their wish.
I believe that the more Mammon loves MC, the more fortunate MC is. OUR ADORABLE SHEEP would use their fortune to treat the brothers and their other friends. But if they only use the fortune to treat Mammon, they'd get more.
Mammon is a clingy demon, that's right MC. Mammon wouldn't admit that, but all his crow familiars would watch over you in three realms. The crows recognize you as Mammon's most precious. This means all crows have the obligation to protect you and chase the thieves away.
Remember those rumors you heard from the other students? Some demons were attacked by a flock of crows? If you ask who are the victims, you might feel strange. Cause the crows attacked those demons who made you upset before.
And do you still remember those demons' names who confessed to you? Have you noticed they would followed by a few crows after that even though you rejected them? If not, let me ask you a simple question, MC. Did you ever meet any of your suitors again?
Lucifer scolded Mammon for that event, but the Avatar of Greed just shrugged. The two oldest brothers kept this secret only between themselves, and Lucifer didn't punish Mammon for this event.
He loves teasing, especially to those newbies. He had spun you so many stories to cover the true intentions that he needs your money.
He knows you are rarely mad at him, but NB! Mammon doesn't know that you adopted Luke as your litter brother or son technically. As a result, you're furious when you know he spins a tale to Luke that you're a bad demon who loves eating children.
Let's say that NB! Mammon is frozen when he hears you gritted his name like when Lucifer is angry.
"Maaaaammmmmon....!"
The brothers are terrified and admire your angry sheep form, they watch in awe and ekk when you use the "STAY! BAD DOG!" AT LEAST THREE TIMES on Mammon, Mammon has to lie on the ground for an hour.
Since that day, the whole Devildom knows that the sweet attendant of the 7 rulers of the Underworld is ONE OF THE MOST CAN'T BE BOTHERED.
Tumblr media
I always thought that MC would warm up to Solomon slowly, they love Solomon, but the feeling of the distance can't get rid of somehow.
Until MC was dragged to the NB timeline and Solomon is the one who came through the time for them. Solomon might not see that but I believe that MC is SOOOOO TOUCHED by this.
A man came to you even though he has to jump through the time? How romantic (*/ω\*)
Living together means a lot to humans, Solomon finally got his key to be closer to MC. They share the domestic chores, greeting at least twice and MC would nap on the sofa while Solomon reading.
Solomon knows that the brothers and the royals spoiled MC with high-quality gifts. Clothes, make-up products... you name it.
But Solomon also knows that MC has a sweet tooth that they can't refuse a dessert. That's why he loves to queue up for popular desserts. The time of getting in a long line is worth it if that means he would see MC's eyes light up and their adorable smile.
Solomon may be the mischievous and mysterious sorcerer he is, and he could be a strict teacher involved in magic. But he actually is soft and makes MC feel safe.
The unspoken feelings of being related as a human and the living proof that MC belongs to the original timeline build a bridge, which leads MC to show more emotions around Solomon. That's why MC would use cold words when they were teleported by the bubbles or angry with Solomon for being too late to start their movie night. And the ways the fantastic three roasted Solomon is funny hehe.
MC feels equal to Solomon, though they can't be sure whether it's because of how Solomon is or it's the result of Solomon always wanting to make humans equal to the other two realms.
But MC can tell him what's on their mind. They know that Solomon would hear it and find a way to get the best of both worlds.
MC cuddles with Solomon before they bid good night. And sometimes they'd just fall asleep.
Solomon never woke them up, he used his coat to cover them so that they wouldn't catch a cold.
After Solomon finished his papers or study, he would teleport himself and MC to his room and snuggle with them before leaving a forehead kiss.

i do find it horrifying how you can see the pipeline his fans went down in defending his actions, and how his early scandals had a degree of plausible deniability that led people to take to defending him, yknow? and as that deniability went away as his actions became significantly worse over time, his fans already had like. a mousetrap mindset. where the second they were prodded they immediately snapped without question. and so they defend him because that's what they've always done and they don't really see what's in the mousetrap because a spring and a pressure plate don't care if it's not a mouse. their job is just to kill it. they don't bother looking at what the actual problem is because all they think to do is defend their streamer no matter what

𐙚 mdni!! ↓↓ 𐙚༘⋆ೀೀ
"DONT BE AFRAID OF ME, IM WHAT YOU NEED." That was the note slipped under your dorm door. You assumed it was from your so-called stalker, as your friends would tell you whenever they saw the notes he left. At first, they were things like, "I know we're meant to be" or "You're starring in my dreams." You leaned down to pick up the note when your roommate, Mindy, stopped you."No, Y/N, enough. Seriously, this stalker stuff is getting creepy.""Oh, don't call whoever this is a stalker. Look, it's nothing."Mindy picked up the note and read it. "Don't be afraid of me?? Is that what you call nothing? For me, this is sounding a bit Ghostface-like." She looked at you with judging eyes. "Come on, we're going to be late for class."You grabbed her arm, leaving your dorm. In front of Mindy, you pretended to brush it off. You knew she'd freak out, but in reality, you were also scared, terrified.
"So, how's stalker boy?" Tara asked while you two were walking to the lunch table."Tara, I'm starting to get scared," you said, stopping in your tracks."Trust me, it's nothing. Plus, think about it, someone is obsessed with you.""Yeah, you're probably right." You both sat down with the rest of the group."Hey guys," Chad said, smiling."Hey, where is Mindy?" you asked. She was the only one missing."Oh, she forgot her pen or something. She'll be back in a bit," Anika said. That was technically true, but Mindy was actually looking for more notes or letters from your stalker. An envelope was attached to the fridge, marked "From: Stalker Boy." Mindy yanked it from the fridge and tore it open.In the meantime, you were sitting next to Ethan. You two were never really close; you'd only talk because of Econ."Are you okay?" he asked, putting his hand on your shaking leg."Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry." You smiled sweetly, turning to face him, and he smiled back."Hey, I'm back," Mindy said, eyeing you. You stood up from the table and went to talk to her."Stalker boy wrote you a letter.""Wait, a real handwritten letter?"Mindy nodded. "Well, that's... weird.""Finally, you came to your senses. Anyways, I destroyed it.""Mindy! That could've been evidence.""Yeah, no, I don't think 'you could be my wife' is evidence." You both chuckled.Ethan was watching from the table, reading your lips. Knowing you knew about his letter just made him more aroused.
Later, you got ready to go to a random Halloween frat party someone was hosting. Maybe you should've worn an outfit that showed less skin because the number of guys hitting on you was obscene. Some were gentle, talking about your future together, while others were more aggressive, kissing you without permission. You needed to catch some air.You stepped outside, sitting on one of the steps of the doorway. "Hey, can I sit here?" Steve asked. He was from Econ, and you always thought he was cute."Yeah, sure.""So, are you enjoying the party?""Not really, actually. Guys keep hitting on me. I want someone who wants me for me, not just for my body," you blurted out."I guess I feel the same way." You both stared at each other. You leaned in and kissed him without much thinking."Oh my God, I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking." You put your hand over your mouth and got up."Wait," he ran over. "I liked it." He smiled and kissed you again. "Do you need a ride home?" You nodded, smiling. You couldn't believe you just kissed the boy you liked and now he was taking you home. You both walked over to his car, and he opened the door for you.What you couldn't see was Ethan watching. He tilted his head slowly, observing. He pulled his phone from his pocket and took a picture of you two, gripping his beer bottle, chugging one more time before throwing it on the ground when you both took off. He put on his helmet and rode his motorcycle to the diner.
He sat down at his usual place and wrote you another letter, more aggressive and explicit than the last one. He didn't even care if you'd be scared. You were his, and he was yours, at least that's what he thought.
You came back home exhausted. Mindy wasn't home; she texted you saying she was sleeping at Anika's. You entered your bedroom, set your purse on your bed.Sitting in the bathtub, you let the warm water envelop you, trying to wash away the anxiety that clung to you. The steam rose around you, and for a moment, you could almost forget about the notes and the unease they brought. After a while, you drained the tub and slipped into your softest pajamas, feeling a bit more at ease.As you walked back into your room, you noticed the clock on your nightstand blinking 11:45 PM. You sat on the edge of your bed, brushing your still-damp hair. Your phone buzzed with a text from Mindy."Are you okay? Did you get home safe?""Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired," you replied, setting your phone down.You tried to distract yourself by scrolling through social media, but your thoughts kept drifting back to the stalker and the unnerving notes. You considered telling the campus security, but part of you felt it would be dismissed as a prank or overreaction. Besides, you didn't have any solid evidence, thanks to Mindy's well-meaning destruction of the latest letter.After a while, your eyelids grew heavy. You turned off your phone and snuggled under your blankets, hoping sleep would come quickly. But as you lay there in the dark, every creak of the dorm, every rustle of the wind outside, seemed magnified. You couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching you.
Meanwhile, at the diner, Ethan was finishing his letter. He wrote with a fervor, his handwriting becoming more erratic as he poured his obsessive thoughts onto the paper. The letter was filled with declarations of love, veiled threats, and vivid descriptions of his fantasies about you. He folded it carefully, placing it in an envelope with your name on it. As the night stretched on, you finally drifted off into a restless sleep, unaware of the shadowy figure lurking outside your window, watching. Ethan stood there for a moment, his breath fogging up the glass as he stared at you. He slipped the new letter under your door before disappearing into the night.You woke up in the middle of the night with a headache, feeling slightly more rested but still uneasy.
The memory of the kiss with Steve brought a small smile to your face, but it was quickly overshadowed by the sight of another envelope lying on the floor inside your door. Your heart sank as you saw another paper "310-807-3956" it was your phone number. you picked it up, the familiar handwriting sending chills down your spine.You tore it open, dreading what you'd find. The words were more intense, more disturbing than before. "i could change your life, you could be my wife" it read. "please dont call the cops, they'll make me stop, and i just wanna talk". "No one else can have you. I'll make sure of it." The explicit nature of the letter made your skin crawl. Suddenly, your phone rang. The caller ID displayed "Unknown Number." You hesitated for a moment before answering, your heart pounding in your chest. "Hello?" you asked, your voice trembling slightly. "Hey gorgeous, did you get my letter?" The voice on the other end was eerily calm, almost familiar. "Stop calling me, please," you pleaded, trying to keep your voice steady. "I memorized your number, now I call you when I please," he continued, ignoring your plea. "I tried to end it all, but now I'm back up on my feet. I saw you in the car with someone else and couldn't sleep. If something happens to him, you can bet that it was me." The call ended abruptly, leaving you in stunned silence. The phone slipped from your hand, clattering to the floor.
what the fuck.

Wildest Dreams
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairings: Sam Carpenter x fem!reader
Summary: you are helplessly head over heels for Sam, even though she despises you. But your relationship with her changes when you get in a lightly physical altercation with her.
Warnings: light sweating, reader accidentally walks in on Sam changing, small violence
My Masterlist
AN: if you have the time, I highly recommend reading ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ and watching ‘Carol’ <3
Word count: 6.3K
For the first time in what seemed a millennium, you finally had the house to yourself. Anika was out with Mindy for a date, and your other roommate, Luke, was doing god knows what, probably out fornicating with one of his many boyfriends, but you didn’t care. You only cared about relaxing on the couch and rewatching your comfort show, Game of Thrones.
You grabbed your phone and a bowl of popcorn and went to the couch. You curled up with the blanket hanging over the back of the sofa as you turned on your show.
Tarantula: you up? ;)
The ‘ding’ from the text pulled you away from the tv, and you smiled when you read the text from your best friend, Tara. The two of you had met on campus in the library and instantly became friends. You two bonded over your love for books and shared a passion for horror movies, even though your opinions drastically differ.
Sam lover: maybe, it depends on who’s asking
Tarantula: you’re best friend in the entire world?? Who else?
Sam lover: mhmmm, okay. What are we doing?
Tarantula: movie night, obviously
Sam lover: sure, I’ll be over in ten
Tarantula: just a heads up, you’ll have to come in through my window
You raised your eyebrows at Tara’s message, ‘Why would I have to do that? I’ve been over before,’ you thought to yourself.
Sam lover: why?
Tarantula: because Sam is watching a movie in the living room, and we are hanging out in my room
Sam lover: fuck, okay. why does she still hate me?
Tarantula: I don’t know, but don’t make any noise when you come over. Sam can’t know and don’t try and hit on her if you see her
To say that you and Sam were acquaintances would be an understatement; Sam despised you, while the woman completely enchanted you. Sam was so tall and handsome as hell. She’s bad for you, but she does it so well; you could see the end as it begins. You admired her strength, both physically and mentally, and you loved the way she cared so much about her sister. And that was also your downfall; Sam believed that you were no good for Tara, as every time Tara did something stupid, you were always at the scene of the crime. Of course, Sam didn’t know that you were always there because you tried your best to stop Tara out of respect for Sam (and a shitty attempt at winning her heart), but she never listened when you tried to explain yourself.
You scoffed at your best friend’s words. She knew of your infatuation with Sam and loved to tease you about it. At first, however, she thought it was a bit weird as you were her best friend and thought you were using her to get close to Sam, but after she saw you turn down an invite to go with Sam and Mindy to the movies just to stay at home and play Mario Kart with her, she knew that you were the real deal.
Tara found it a bit sad, though, because every time you would talk to Sam, you would either get silence, a death stare, or a one-word reply, but she would rather die than tell you that she felt pity for your shitty attempts to talk to her sister.
Sam lover: I will not be held responsible for my actions when I am around a beautiful woman with big brown eyes
Tarantula: yeah, yeah, whatever. just get over here soon and climb in through my window; I’ll leave it open
Sam lover: sounds good. I’m omw
With that, you shut your phone off, grabbed your backpack and put a spare change of clothes along with a cable to charge your phone in it, and went towards Tara’s apartment. You enjoyed walking by yourself as it allowed you to be with your thoughts, and you couldn’t help it when you started to think of Sam. The gravitational pull you felt towards the older woman was something you couldn’t explain even if you had to; you just knew that you couldn’t deny the attraction you felt. You longed to get lost in those dark eyes and don’t even get started on those muscular arms; to you, Sam was perfect, and you would count all the stars in the sky if you could call her yours for a moment.
When you reached the street Tara lived on, you sent Tara a quick message asking her which side her window would be on, and she responded with ‘the one that’s close to creepy ass alley,’ which was all of New York in your eyes.
Sam lover: that’s all of NY, Tarantula
Tarantula: It’s across from the McDonald’s, five stories up. And stop calling me ‘Tarantula.’ It’s offensive.
You laughed at your friend’s reply before sending back a quick ‘huh uh.’ You walked around the apartment until you saw the McDonald’s and then the creepy ass alleyway and looked up five stories. And true to her word, Tara had her window open for you. You climbed onto the fire escape and slowly made your way to Tara’s window before sending her a quick text telling her you were here, only you didn’t see the message she sent back telling you you weren’t at her window.
When you pushed Tara’s window the rest of the way and climbed halfway in, you nearly died; Sam was standing in a towel with her back facing you as she grabbed some clothes from her dresser. When she dropped her towel, your heart exploded, and it felt like you were in your wildest dream. You admired her perfect curves, and then the leg that you had in Sam’s room gave out, causing you to fall into Sam’s room with a loud thud.
Sam turned around with a shocked expression before she quickly turned back to her dresser and grabbed a knife. You could not seem to pry your eyes away from Sam’s chest, and you swore you could feel drool fall down your chin. You were too busy trying to engrave Sam’s naked figure into your brain that you didn’t feel the blade fly into your left thigh.
“Sam, I am so sorry,” you said as you tried to stand up on your legs, but one gave out and screamed in pain. The only thing on your mind was Sam’s breasts that you swore looked like the softest pillows ever.
“What the fuck is going-Oh my god! What happened to your leg?” Tara exclaimed after bursting into the room, disregarding her sister, who finally covered herself with a towel. At the mention of something wrong with your leg, you finally felt the sharp pain shoot through your entire leg as you stared at the blade in your thigh.
“You’re weird friend just broke into my room and stared at me while I was changing!” Sam stated as she grabbed her clothes and stormed off to the bathroom, clearly not caring about your wound. Tara quickly ran to your side and knelt beside you, “I am so sorry about this, Y/N. I didn’t know that she also had her window open.”
You shrugged off Tara’s comment as you tried to move, but the pain was too much. You watched as your crimson-red blood steeped onto the room’s flooring and stained your clothing. “Come on, we have to get you to a hospital,” Tara stated, pulling you up to the floor and leaning your weight onto her. By the time Tara had entered the living room and to the door, Sam was dressed and had her phone and keys in hand. “I’ll take you to the hospital; let’s go,” Sam stated as she moved Tara off you and took her place. It was pitiful how your face heated up when you felt Sam pull your left arm over her shoulders and hold it while her right arm was wrapped around your waist, allowing you to lean your weight onto her.
When you reached Sam’s car, Tara opened up the back row door and helped Sam lay you down on the seats before she got into the passenger door. “Do not die in my car, Y/N. I don’t need you to haunt my car,” Sam dryly stated as she closed the door and got in the driver’s side. You don’t remember much of the car ride to the hospital; the only thing on your mind was seeing Sam naked, and no matter how hard you tried, you would never be about to erase that beautiful image from your mind.
One moment you were daydreaming about the beautiful goddess that had just stabbed you, and then the next, you were in a hospital bed with stitches in your thigh. For the life of you, you couldn’t recall what had happened, just that you saw Sam naked, and then she stabbed you. You saw yourself, in hindsight, tangled up with her all night in your wildest dreams. Someday when your mind leaves you, you bet that the memory of Sam will follow you around.
“Oh, thank god, I thought I was going to have to murder Sam,” Tara said as she moved from the chair in the corner of the room and approached your bed. She sat on the edge of the bed and gently grabbed your hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “What happened? The last thing I remember was being in the back of Sam’s car,” you recalled as you looked around the room and saw Sam, who was standing creepily in the doorway with her arms crossed.
“You passed out on the drive here. You should have seen Sam, though; she was terrified you had actually died,” Tara said with a small laugh as she remembered her sister’s frantic attempts to make sure you were still alive, and she also wanted to let you know that Sam slightly cared about you.
Sam scoffed at her sister’s words as she uncrossed her arms and walked toward you. “I was worried you were going to ruin my seats and then haunt my car,” Sam stated coldly, but her eyes betrayed her icy stature. You could see the way her eyes darted across your body, subtly checking to see if you were actually okay, and how she had her hands shoved into the pockets on her bomber jacket, slightly ashamed that she had hurt you.
Within the first encounters you had with Sam, you noticed how she always hid her hands when she was ashamed of something, and right now, all you wanted to do was reach out and comfort the woman. “Eh, I’m fine,” you shrugged briefly.
You talked to Tara while Sam stood around the room, looking out of place as she watched you with her sister. When the doctor came in, she gave you painkillers and told you could leave in the morning. “Could one of us stay here with her?” Sam asked the doctor worriedly when she was close to the door. “The hospital rules say we can’t allow non-family members to stay overnight, but I’ll let you stay with your girlfriend,” the doctor replied with a smile as she looked between you and Sam, clearly reading into some tension in the air.
Sam didn’t even have time to deny the doctor’s words before she left the room and shut the door, so Sam turned around with a scoff and was met with your drugged-out smile and Tara’s knowing one. “Well, Sammy, I will leave you here with your ‘girlfriend,’” Tara joked as she stood from the bed and grabbed her things.
“No. Tara, there is no way you are leaving here this late at night,” Sam replied as she followed her sister to the doorway. “Well, I’m certainly not staying here; I hate hospitals. And besides, Mindy is here to pick me up,” Tara replied with a smile.
She hated to admit it, but Sam was at a crossroads. She didn’t want Tara to stay here after the last time her sister was left alone in a hospital, and she also didn’t want you to stay here alone. She worried about you for Tara’s sake and definitely not because she felt terrible for being the reason you were here.
With a defeated sigh, Sam nodded and spoke, “Alright. Just let me walk you out.”
You watched the two sisters open the door and smiled when Sam stopped and looked back at you, “Don’t do anything stupid until I get back.”
“Okay, girlfriend,” you replied with a dopey smile, clearly enjoying the effects of the painkillers.
When Sam returned, she said nothing as she brought two chairs together and made herself an awkward bed. “You know, you can join me,” you suggested as you scooted over to the side, allowing Sam some room if she chose to sleep with you.
“Yeah, that’s not happening,” Sam replied as she got out a blanket and a pillow from the wardrobe and got comfortable on the chairs.
“Why not? I’ve already seen you naked.”
Sam rolled her eyes and laid her head on the pillow, and covered up with the blanket, “Do not mention that ever again.”
“Okay. I want to let you know you have a beautiful body, Sam. Your boobs are perfect! I mean, my god, the things I would do-”
“Please stop talking,” Sam interrupted you as she tried her best to fight off the fluttering feeling in her stomach at your words. She knew the painkillers were talking, but she couldn’t help but believe there was some truth to your comments. “Goodnight, Y/N,” Sam said after a few awkward moments of silence.
“Goodnight, girlfriend,” you teased as you got as comfortable as you could you a hospital bed before sleep consumed you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the morning, you were discharged from the hospital but had to walk around with crutches for a while. And to put it short, you hated it. Yes, having to walk around with them constantly clanking every time you walked got annoying, and how your armpits ached at the end of each day. But the worst part was that you couldn’t impress Sam with them.
Naturally, you were angry at Sam for throwing a knife in your leg, but you also shouldn’t have been staring at her while she was changing.
“Who even changes with their window open anyways?” Mindy asked one night while over at Tara’s apartment for dinner. You and Mindy had been invited over for a girl dinner with the Carpenters as you four sat around the dining table. The table had a dish of lasagna along with a salad bowl prepared, and you could not wait to eat the delicious food Sam had prepared.
“My room was hot, and I was letting in fresh air; I didn’t think someone would try and break in,” Sam stated as she made herself a bowl of salad with her lasagna.
“I did not break in. Tara invited me over and told me to go through her open window,” you said once you finished a bite of your food, “so technically, it’s her fault.”
Tara scoffed at your words while throwing a crouton at you, earning herself a scolding look from Sam. “Do not try and blame this on me; I texted you and told you that wasn’t my room, but you didn’t see it,” Tara replied.
“Why did you even tell her to climb through your window?” Sam asked with a puzzled look.
“Because, Sam, you would have told her to leave or probably stabbed her, but you already did that,” Tara dryly said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Sam rolled her eyes at her sister's statement before focusing on her food.
“I was lightly stabbed, so it’s not that big of a deal,” you said.
“You were still stabbed, Y/N,” Tara replied annoyedly. She knew that you were weirdly happy about Sam stabbing you, but she tried her best to ignore it.
“Lightly stabbed.”
Mindy chuckled while looking at you, “Whatever. I still can’t believe she threw a knife at you; me personally, I would not let that slide.”
“It’s whatever; I didn’t even notice it until Tara came barging into the room,” you said while looking at Sam, who picked her food with her fork and refused to meet your gaze.
Mindy just laughed at your response before returning her attention to her food. The rest of dinner was filled with laughs and idle conversations, but you couldn’t help but notice how Sam didn’t participate in any of the conversations. You had tried to get her engaged, but she would either respond with a nod, a laugh, or a single word.
Sam felt bad for reacting the way she did, and she wanted to apologize to you, but she didn’t know how without bringing up the fact you slightly deserved it. So, when dinner was finished, and the rest of the group moved into the living room to watch a movie, Sam pulled you aside.
“What’s up?” You asked with a smile as you leaned on a crutch. It had been a couple of weeks since you were discharged from the hospital, so now you only walked around with one crutch.
That smile you gave her, Sam couldn’t find the correct words to describe it. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, and she wanted to kiss it off your lips. “Just so you know, you’re insufferable and intolerable. And I hate you.”
“Oh, okay,” you said with that same smile, fully knowing Sam was lying. Sam, on the other hand, desperately needed to get away from you, or she might do something she would regret. “Is there anything else you need?” You asked.
With a sigh, Sam asked, “Yes, actually. What are some books I could read? I’ve been trying to get into reading because of Tara, and I wanted to discuss them with her, and I need to have a few books under my belt before I do that.”
Your smile grew ten times bigger at Sam’s question, and the older woman wanted to murder you for it. “I have been waiting for ages for you to ask me that. I actually have a copy of my favorite book with me if you want to give it a try?” You asked as you made your way over to your backpack.
Sam followed behind you and watched as you moved around your sleeping clothes and pulled out a weathered book. It had different colored sticky notes hanging from the pages, and the edges around the book looked like they had their share of bumps and drops.
Sam grabbed the book and read the cover with a scoff. “Look, Y/N; I’m not reading a book about a woman who had seven different husbands. That’s just absurd,” the Latina said with a dry tone.
“No,” you replied as you placed your hand on Sam’s wrist, holding the book, “trust me, Sam. Just try it; it’s not what you think it is.”
“Alright, fine. If this book is better than it sounds,” Sam said as she looked around the room with a huff, “I guess I’ll treat you with respect or something.”
Sam didn’t even have time to react before she felt the hand on her wrist pull away and pinch her cheek. “I know you’ll love it,” you said with a cheeky grin as Sam slapped your hand away from her face. “Do not ever do that again,” she warned as she pointed a finger in your face.
“Yes, ma’am,” you responded with a salute before walking back toward the living room, “is there anything else you need?”
‘I want to take you on a date and then put your head on a stick,’ Sam wanted to say but said, “I’ll let you know what I think of it.”
You gave Sam a soft smile as you returned to the living room. Sam didn’t know what she was feeling toward you, but she eventually sauntered off to her room after realizing she cared about you more than friends do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Come on, Tara; The Babadook is easily one of the worst horror movies ever made!” You exclaimed with your hands as you stared down at the more petite girl. You had finally gotten your stitches out and were no longer walking around with a crutch, so that meant a celebration night over at the Carpenter’s apartment.
“No, it’s not! You just hate it so much because it scares you!” Tara retorted as she hit the leg closest to her, which happened to be the one Sam lightly stabbed.
You moved your legs up onto the loveseat you were sitting on after she hit you, “Yeah, and also because it scares me so much! And don’t hit me, you little shit.” Tara scoffed at your words and stood up and grabbed one of her shoes, and was getting ready to launch it at you when the door to the apartment opened. She quickly dropped the shoe and stood facing the door with her hands clasped behind her back and an innocent smile, as if she wasn’t just getting ready to throw a shoe as hard as she could at your face. “What’s going on?” Sam asked when she saw Tara standing with a creepy smile and your shocked expression.
“Tara was-”
“I was getting up to order some pizza!” Tara interrupted you and sent you a death glare when Sam turned her back to hang up her purse. Sam turned around and looked between you two and ignored the shoe she saw by Tara’s feet; whatever her sister was getting ready to do to you, you probably deserved it.
“Okay,” Sam replied as she exaggerated the word before walking to her room, but not before sending you a glare. “Nice to see you, Sam!” you said with a smile while Sam huffed before slamming her door. “You are such a charmer,” Tara joked as she shoved your legs off the couch so she could sit next to you.
You scoffed at Tara’s words while you reached for the remote and pushed Tara off you when she tried to take it from you. “No! Down girl, down!” You said when you finally pushed Tara off of you. She scoffed as you turned on the tv before leaning back on the couch and putting her feet in your lap. You pulled her feet more into your lap and let your hand rest on her leg while you looked for something to watch. Naturally, Tara made it hard for you to pick something out because she refused to watch anything you wanted to spite you, but eventually, you settled on watching ‘Carol.’ You loved this movie more than anything, even though you cried every time you watched it.
For some unknown reason, Tara pulled her feet from your lap and left the couch roughly ten minutes into the movie. “I’ll be right back,” she said as she walked toward her room with her phone in hand. “Do you want me to pause it for you?” You asked as you reached for the remote but stopped when Tara told you not to wait up on her. You missed the devilish smirk she wore on her lips as she disappeared into her room.
You continued to watch the movie by yourself when you heard a door open up. “Finally! I was starting to think that you were leaving me here to hang out with Sam,” you said with a smile as you paused the movie and finally turned around to face Tara, but your smile faded once you saw Sam. “Oh, I’m sorry; I thought you were Tara,” you said with an embarrassed tone as your eyes refused to meet Sam’s piercing gaze.
The older woman huffed at your words before she went to the couch and sat at the opposite end while unlocking her phone, trying to keep as much space as possible between you two. “Tara texted me and told me that she felt sick and she didn’t want you to leave because it’s late at night and doesn’t want anything to happen to you, so she wants me to keep you company,” Sam read aloud her text messages between her and Tara before she closed her phone and set it on the coffee table in front of you guys.
“You don’t have to; I’m fine staying in here by myself,” you said with a polite smile while looking at Sam. The woman turned her head and looked at you before giving you the fakest smile you have ever seen while she lied through her teeth, “That’s alright, I’m good to stay in here with you.” The tension was so thick you could practically taste it on your tongue, but you held your breath and muttered a quiet ‘okay’ as you restarted the movie.
It’s not that she hated being around you after the incident; the only thing she wanted to do was kiss you and call you hers, but she was afraid you wouldn’t feel the same. Especially after she lightly stabbed you.
“Wait, why are you restarting it?” Sam questioned as she looked between you and the tv.
“Because you missed the opening scene, which is arguably one of the best scenes in the movie, and you also need to watch it to understand the ending better,” you reasoned with an honest smile while your gentle eyes danced across Sam’s face.
She didn’t know why, but after listening to your explanation of why the opening scene was essential and listening to your voice that was full of only love and admiration for this movie, Sam decided that she would actually pay attention to it, rather than send you hateful glances every once in a while.
So when the tv finally stopped the introduction, and it was Carol and Therese sitting together at a dinner table in a fancy restaurant, Sam picked up on the tension-riddled scene and couldn’t help but glance over at you. She noticed how your eyebrows furrowed, and your eyes danced between Carol and Therese as if you were getting ready to jump through the tv and become a part of the movie. Her eyes finally drifted down to your lips, and she noticed how your tongue was barely sticking out between your lips as you studied the screen, as if there was going to be something small in the background, and if you blinked, you would miss it.
“Are you even watching?” You questioned when you felt eyes burning into the side of your skull, but your own eyes never left the screen.
Sam awkwardly cleared her throat before speaking, “Sorry; you just seem really invested in this movie, and I thought it was funny.” You felt heat creep up the back of your neck at Sam’s words but shook it off as her being cautious of you. “It’s a great film, Sam. I think you’ll like it,” you replied with a gentle smile as you pried your eyes away from the screen to look at Sam before returning your attention to the tv.
When you said that she might like it, Sam took her eyes away from you and actually paid attention to the movie. When the sex scene came up, the air in the room became tense, as if both of you were holding your breath and holding back from one another. Sam tried her best to fight back the blush she felt, and she looked to you for help. You had your mouth agape, no matter how often you watched this scene, you were always enchanted by it, and you whispered, “I wish that were me.” Even though she tried to, Sam couldn’t come up with a retort for your comment; she also wishes she could do that with Cate Blanchett, but she also wishes that was her with you.
Sam then turned her attention back to the screen and had to fight any urges that she might have been feeling toward you. Her eyes never left the screen until the very end; only when she had to blink back the eyes that threatened to escape as she looked up at the ceiling. When the end credits rolled, you cleared your throat, tension still left over from the sex scene, “So, what did you think of it?”
“It was certainly something. It was a lot better than I expected, just based on your taste in things,” Sam joked as she subtly wiped the tears away in her eyes. You chuckled at her words, ‘if you only you knew,’ you thought as she stared at her with hearty eyes.
You quickly snapped out of your daze when you noticed Sam shuffling uncomfortably on the couch, “Well, I’m glad you enjoyed it. And just so you know,” you said as you stood up from the couch, “I have an exceptional taste in things.”
Sam laughed at your words before standing up, “I highly doubt that.” You smiled at the older woman before making your way to Tara’s room; you had plans to murder the little shit for leaving you alone with Sam. “Goodnight, Sam,” you said with a smile as you opened Tara’s door slightly. Sam gave you a genuine smile as she went to her room, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
This was the first time you had had a direct conversation with Sam since she pulled you aside and asked for a book recommendation, and you wished you could have more conversations with the woman. She was smarter than she gave herself credit for, and the way she expressed herself through body language while talking was something you found attractive, to put it lightly.
When you entered Tara’s room, you saw the girl lying toward the foot of her bed with her laptop open, and you could faintly hear Toni Collette giving her ‘I am your mother’ speech. “So, how did it go with Samantha?” Tara questioned with a smug grin as you sat on the bed with your back propped against the headboard. You threw your legs up onto the bed and dug the heel of your right foot into Tara’s back, causing the girl to let out a small yelp before shoving your leg off of her and scolding you.
“Whatever, you deserved it,” you said as you crossed your ankles and left them next to Tara, who was still facing the foot of the bed. “And for your information, it was fine. She didn’t try and kill me again,” you joked.
“A win is a win,” Tara replied as she moved to sit next to you and put the laptop on your lap while she cuddled up next to you. You put your arm around her waist and placed a platonic kiss on her head right when Sam walked in.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I can come back later,” Sam said as she looked down at the floor and turned her back to you two, embarrassed that she had just walked in on an intimate moment between you and her sister and ignored the pain she felt in her heart. “No, it’s okay, Sam,” Tara said while pulling away from you and silently encouraging you to go after Sam even though she was still in the doorway.
“I thought you were sick?” Sam asked with her back still facing you two. “Yeah, I can’t explain that one without unveiling my grand scheme of things plan,” Tara said while getting up from her bed and turning Sam to face her, “I’m serious, Sam. Nothing is going on between me and Y/N.”
Sam looked away from her sister and saw you sitting on Tara’s bed, smiling as you sent her a small wave. The woman scoffed at your actions before returning to her room.
Once Sam was gone, Tara closed the door, walked over to you, and hit you in the stomach. “The fuck was that, Y/N?” She whisper-shouted at you, “I basically admitted to having a plan of forcing you and Sam together, and you fucking wave at her?”
“I didn’t know what you wanted me to do!” You defended.
Tara sighed at your statement; she had laid the groundwork, and then just like clockwork, the dominos were supposed to cascade in a line because she’s a mastermind, but your dumbass messed it up. “Go talk to Sam. Right. Now. Or so help me God, I will violently murder you to death,” Tara commanded as she pulled you from her bed and pushed you toward the door. “And do not come back until you have talked to her,” and with that, Tara shut the door in your face and locked it.
You sighed before walking toward the living room. You thought about sleeping on the couch, but you knew Tara would probably draw a penis on your face while you slept, so you sucked in a deep breath before walking toward Sam’s door.
Sam heard a gentle knock of three intervals at her door, pulling her away from her note. “Just a minute,” she said as she finished her writing and slipped it into a preselected page in the book.
“What’s up?” She asked once when she opened her door and saw you.
“I just wanted to ask you about the book,” you replied with a smile that Sam wanted to kiss off your lips.
Instead of doing what she desired, she left her door open while grabbing the book and handed it back to you. “This is the saddest book I have ever read. Who would come up with such a thing?”
You chuckled at her words and accepted the book, “I know. I take it; you finished it?”
“Barely. But I finished it in one sitting,” Sam said while staring into your love-struck eyes. Sam swore she could feel herself getting lost in them, and she never wanted to leave your eyes.
“So, what did you think of it?” You asked.
“It was alright. Some pages were hard to read because of the tear-stained pages.”
You lightly laughed at Sam’s words, and the older woman felt her heart might explode if she heard that soft laugh again. “Yeah, I’m sorry about that. This book really gets to me, you know?” You said while your eyes quickly glanced down at Sam’s lips, wondering if they tasted as good as they looked.
Sam cleared her throat, and you knew you had been busted. “So, I guess I’ll have to treat you with respect now,” she admitted through a tightened jaw.
“Or whatever,” you said with a smile, hoping Sam picked up the double meaning, and she did.
“Yeah, or whatever.”
“Just so you know, nothing is going on between me and Tara,” you clarified after a few seconds, and you set the book down on the couch behind you.
Sam knew that there wasn’t anything between you and her sister, but hearing those words leave your lips gave Sam a feeling of comfort she didn’t know she needed. “I know, Y/N.”
“Okay. I just wanted to clarify that before I did this,” Sam didn’t even have time to react before she felt your hands grip her neck and pull her into a passionate kiss. The way your lips felt like they had been made for her lips amazed Sam, and she finally felt her heart explode when she matched your intensity.
Your lips danced together as Sam deepened the kiss and pulled you by your waist closer to her. You felt her tongue push past your lips, and an involuntary moan slipped out, causing Sam to laugh against your lips. When you felt Sam’s hands drift toward the bottom of your shirt, you lifted your arms, and Sam got halfway into taking it off before you two heard a voice behind you, “Goddamnit, Y/N! I told you to apologize, not swap spit with her!”
You pulled away from Sam and turned to face Tara, who smiled knowingly. “Sorry,” you mumbled while fixing your shirt.
An awkward beat of silence passed while Tara looked between you and her sister with a sly smirk on her lips before she finally said, “I’ll leave you two to it,” and walked away.
“I’m sorry about that,” Sam said once Tara was gone. You turned to look at Sam, and you smiled at her swollen lips and blown pupils. You said nothing as you placed a final kiss on Sam’s lips that the older woman happily reciprocated.
“I should probably leave,” you mumbled against Sam’s lips, and she kissed you once more before pulling away. “Don’t forget your book,” Sam said while grabbing it for you.
“Thank you,” you replied with a tint of blush on your cheeks. Sam walked you to the door with her hand on the lower of your back, and you only wanted to run back into her room and throw Sam on her bed, but you doubted Tara would appreciate that.
When you reached the door, you placed a chaste kiss on Sam’s lips before opening up the door. “I’ll see you around?” You asked, afraid that this was a one-time thing.
Sam leaned against the doorframe, and she couldn’t contain the smile that pulled at her cheeks. “Of course, Y/N.”
You smiled at her and began walking down the hallway when Sam called out, “It's me and you, true blue.”
You placed a kiss on your pointer and middle finger before holding them toward Sam with a smile on your face. The woman laughed at your action and pretended to catch the fake kiss and her fist to her heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At home, you fall onto your couch and struggled to get your shoes off. Once they were off, you relaxed and pulled out the book and started reading it. When you ran your fingers over the pages, a small note fell out from the middle of the book and you moved to that page.
In the center of the page was a headline from Sub Rosa titled, ‘Evelyn Hugo and Celia St. James Slumber Parties,’ and you couldn’t help but laugh at the page.
When you opened up the note, written in the most beautiful penmanship said,
‘Want to go grab a milkshake with me sometime? I doubt we’ll find a place as good as Schwab’s, but we can try. We can also have ‘slumber parties’ of our own when Tara is away. ;)
All my love,
Samantha
Designated Driver
Tara Carpenter x gn!reader
Summary: pretty much the title
Words: 0.5k
A/n: tiny drabble before smut :O
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Dude, you’ve definitely had too much to drink”
“You have such squishy cheeks, have i ever told you that?” Tara slurs her words as she pinches your left cheek, her breath smelling of booze
“Alright, that’s enough” You decide to ignore how you feel your cheeks get warmer “I’ll go get everyone else. Stay here, don’t go anywhere”
“Waaaaait don’t leave me… I miss you” Tara wraps her arms around your neck, and you also decide to ignore how she’s pressing kisses against your shoulder
You were everyone’s designated driver, being the most responsible out of the group. Sam approved of your presence when she wasn’t able to be with them, and she trusted you with her sister. With Tara around your neck, she quickly migrated to your back, forcing you into giving her a piggyback ride. You two somewhat resembled a koala and his mom, which Mindy made sure to point out
It was your job to take care of your friends like a single mother, and you took your job very seriously
“C’mon, everyone. Keep walk- Mindy stop making out with Anika. You two can have sex when you get home. I don’t want to clean up my leather seats”
“You’re no fun… why do we have to go?”
“It’s past your bedtime.”
“You’re not my mom!”
“I am, actually. Now keep walking before i decide to bodyslam you into my car”
“Stop bein’ mean to Mindy” Tara mumbles into your neck, and her breath sends shivers down your spine
“Everyone. Car. Including you, Tar”
“Can i sit on your lap?”
“If you’re good i’ll spend the night over” Just like that, Tara is off your back and seated in your car along with Anika, Mindy, and Chad. You drive to the twins’ place first, and Anika decides to stay with her girlfriend for the night. When they leave, Tara crawls through the middle space to sit in the front seat next to you
“Don’t you need to get clothes from your place?” Tara asks, and you notice how she’s sobered up the tiniest bit
“I think you’ve stolen like half my wardrobe”
“You have a hot jawline.”
“Go to sleep, Tara”
“I’ll make sure to dream about your jawline”
“Wow, i guess your true motives are showing” You playfully grumble, nearing Tara’s and Sam’s apartment
“Carry me?”
“You have legs”
“But you’re strong”
“So are you, babe” You pat Tara’s thigh “Put those legs to good work”
“You sound like my middle school gym teacher…”
You chuckle at the thought of middle school Tara, but you ultimately let her climb on your back when she looks up at you with her doe eyes. Your girlfriend knows exactly how to make you fold
“Jesus, isn’t it illegal to have a non-working elevator?” You’re huffing and puffing by the time you make it to Tara’s floor, and she lets out a giggle
“It’s okay, babe. You’re hot when you’re tired” She presses a kiss to your cheek as payment when she gets off your back
“And you’re horny when you’re drunk. I’m too sleepy for sex, Tar”
“You might actually be the meanest person i know.”
ETHAN WALKING IN ON YOU CHANGING FIC !!!
LETS DO IT!!! I’m not sure if you wanted this suggestive or fluff so there’s bothhh!
Accident — Ethan Landry ★
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Ethan x fem!reader
A/N: we loveee dizzy being in her active era!!
Tumblr media
All Ethan was trying to do was give you back the notebook you left in his dorm when you had come over to study the other day. He didn’t know you’d be half naked when he walked in. And plus he knocked! Twice! He’s never been so embarrassed, well he has, but this felt so much worse for some reason. Maybe cause he’s liked you for so long now and he’s dreamed of seeing you like that, but on other circumstances. Circumstances where it was intentional.
“Chad, I can’t face her. This is so bad, oh my god,” Ethan’s worried voice was muffled by his hands covering his face. His roommate wasn’t doing anything to help him either, he was just laughing in his face. “Dude! It’ll be fine, don’t stress it,” Chad said while slapping Ethan’s back. Ethan shot him a glare and continued to pace the living room of the apartment you shared with Sam, Tara, and Quinn. Anika was actually trying to help him, Mindy was making fun of him just like her twin was, and Tara was trying her best to help and not laugh at the same time.
There was no way he’d be able to look you in the eyes again. What did you think of him now?? Did you think he was creepy?? A perv?? Would you yell at him when you walked back in?? Tara put a hand on Ethan’s shoulder trying to calm him down, “I’m sure it’s fine, Eth-” Ethan shook his head, “Its not! It’s so embarrassing you don’t understand- I like her a lot and I was planning to ask her out soon but there’s no chance she’d ever say yes now. Oh my god, I can’t imagine what she thinks of me right now,” he rambled while he flopped on the couch.
Ethan’s hands were on his face again and he noticed how everyone went silent. He slowly lowered his hands and looked at everyone, but they were focused on something else. He slowly followed their gazes to see you standing right there. Oh no. Did you hear that? How does everything keep getting worse?Ethan’s face turned bright red and he didn’t know what to do or what to say. After a moment of silence and way too much eye contact he spoke up, “Did you hear that?” He wanted to wince at how small and weak his voice sounded.
“Hear what?” You asked with an innocent tone and a head tilt. But you definitely knew and he knew you knew. I mean you had to. He could read you like a book. There was a mischievous glint in your eyes and a ghost of a smirk on your pretty lips, the lips he wanted to kiss so bad. After another pause of silence Chad decided to put on a movie so everyone could calm down and have a chill little movie night. Ethan was extremely thankful his roommate had a good idea for once, hoping this would take his mind off of everything that just happened.
He was talking with Anika and was starting to relax until you called for him, “Hey Eth, you wanna help me get the popcorn started?” He froze. Why? He wasn’t sure. This was normal and you didn’t seem to be upset at him or anything. This was fine, everything would be fine. “Yeah, sure,” he mumbled as he stood up. He made his way over to you in the kitchen and you smiled at him. He did his best to smile back and watched you get the popcorn bag and put it in the microwave. He looked at what you were wearing, little pajama shorts and a T-Shirt. Then he remembered what you were wearing when he walked in on you, nothing but your underwear.
He’d be lying if he said thinking about you wasn’t making him flush pink and a little hard. “Ethan?” His head snapped to look at your eyes, not realizing he had been staring at your ass the whole time. “I asked if you would get two bowls out for me? Mindy and Anika want to share and Chad and Tara are sharing. I guess you could get three if you want to share with me.” He barely registered what you had said but got three bowls out quickly, wanting to drown out the dirty thoughts he had begun to think about.
It was then he realized he hadn’t apologized for barging in your room just under 10 minutes ago. He placed the bowls on the counter and glanced at you, but you were already looking at him. He cleared his throat, “Um I’m sorry- y’know about earlier. I didn’t mean to walk in on you, I mean obviously. It was an accident, I promise,” he said quickly. You giggled at the flustered boy and he tried his best to avoid your gaze, but he couldn’t. He looked at you and the look on your face and he smiled, the blush on his cheeks not leaving.
“It’s okay, Eth. I didn’t mind,” you told him with a slight smirk. His eyebrows raised slightly and you chuckled. You leaned in and his breath hitched, he didn’t know where this was going. Your hand snaked up his chest and all the way up to cup his face. You admired him for a second before you inched closer to him, making sure nobody else would hear you, “I was kind of sad you didn’t stay,” you said quietly. He didn’t understand. “What?” He asked matching your volume.
“Well all day I’ve been thinking about you.” Your hand was now touching his biceps. “I was hoping when you walked in you would’ve stayed and helped me out, been so needy for you all day,” you confessed while looking at him with big eyes. He thought he was gonna pass out. His cock was definitely hard now, now that he knew you thought of him like he thought of you. And you wanted him, you needed him, just like how he wanted and needed you. “Fuck,” he muttered. You were so close to him and all he wanted was to fuck you against the counter or kiss you, or touch you. Just something. But there were people around.
He couldn’t give a fuck less about a movie right now or that he heard Chad asking what the fuck was taking so long, all he cared about was you. You were intoxicating. “Can we go to my dorm?” He asked you suddenly, the tension getting too much for him. Ethan searched your eyes for any signs of disgust or discomfort, but he didn’t find anything like that. Your eyes were full of lust and want, and it was for him, all for him. “Yes please,” you grabbed his hand and left the kitchen. “We’re going, don’t wait up!” You rushed out the door with Ethan stumbling behind you, a dumb smile on his face.
This isn't Your Fault (Record Store)
Pairing: Tara Carpenter x Reader
Summary: You paused, untangling your hand from Tara’s as quickly as possible, ignoring the pout on her face, as you pulled out an album.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 3.1k
Main Masterlist | Series Masterlist
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6
Tumblr media
You woke up to the smell of bacon, your mouth already watering as you slowly opened your eyes, blinking away the sleep. You stretched out, snuggling further into the warm bed, Tara shifting as she cuddled closer. You looked down, seeing her still sound asleep, you smiled at peace with finally having met Sam and her friends. Sneaking around with her was fun but officially meeting everyone was better, they were so nice, even though Sam was still intimidating you knew you could trust her.
“Morning,” Tara mumbled, rubbing her eyes sleepily. “Is that bacon?” She pushed herself up, looking around as if she’d be able to see the bacon.
You giggled, pushing your head further into the pillow. Tara hovered above you, looking down at you with a soft smile that hadn’t left her lips since the two of you fell asleep. “Chad did say they’d be back for breakfast,” you said.
“Guess we better get up then, besides Sam isn’t a half bad cook.”
The two of you rolled out of bed after a few more minutes of cuddling. You were both hungry but neither of you had the the desire to leave the warm comfort of the bed. It was getting colder, you wanted to go to the record store, but you didn’t have a desire to be dragged from store to store with Anika with it being so chilly, not when you could stay inside cozied up with Tara where it was warm.
The two of you finally made your way out of the room and into the kitchen where Sam was flipping the last of the breakfast onto a plate. “Morning,” she greeted with a soft smile. “How’d you sleep?”
You sighed, remembering that you had woken up from a nightmare, Tara made it easier to sleep but the nightmares still came. After your talk with Sam, you had gone back to bed and slept peacefully the rest of the night. “Better,” you said your voice still raspy with sleep. “Thanks again.”
“No problem.”
Tara dragged you to the dining table, refusing to let go of your hand. You rubbed your eyes, thinking maybe you were dreaming at the spread before you. There was bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuits, and a couple boxes of cereal.
“I wasn’t sure what you liked,” Sam said, a light blush decorating her cheeks.
“It all looks amazing,” you said, smiling, as you took your seat at the table.
“She also eats like a five-year-old,” Tara commented, giving you a pointed look as you had a piece of bacon in your mouth. “Would eat pizza rolls and Dino nuggets for every meal if they could.”
You pouted as you finished chewing your bacon. “They’re simple and good,” you defended. “What’s wrong with that?”
“You eat like a child.”
“Sometimes I make mashed potatoes.”
“From a box.”
“Shut up.” You grabbed another piece of bacon, silently chewing on it as you looked down at your plate.
“Good morning!” Chad shouted, flinging the door open as he entered.
“It’s too early for this,” Mindy said, rubbing her temple as she curled into Anika’s side.
“Holy shit!” Chads eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw the table of food. He rushed forward, grabbing a plate and began loading it up with everything.
“Damn, Sam,” Mindy said, her eyes wide as well. “Why don’t you ever do this for us?” She chuckled as she grabbed a seat, bringing Anika with her.
After everyone finished breakfast, leaving absolutely nothing left, the six of you headed out, making your way to the record store. There were several record stores downtown and you had been to all of them of course but you had a favorite. The one you liked got all the new vinyl’s when they were released and regularly got in new inventory of older and hard to find albums. The store also had a cat that roamed around and if you were lucky, it let you pet it.
The little bell jingled as you pushed the door open, the sight brought a smile to your face. There were rows upon rows of vinyl’s, all alphabetized or separated by genre. There was a rack up front right by the register filled with everything new. You knew nothing you wanted came out recently, but you still browsed the new releases just in case you missed something. Chad wandered off into one corner, flipping through vinyl of the type of music he liked. Mindy dragged Anika to another corner, but Anika was more than happy to follow.
Tara held your hand, your fingers intertwined as you weaved your way through the rows. There weren’t many people in the store, it was a Saturday, but they hadn’t even been open an hour. You had been here enough times that you didn’t need to look at everything else as you made your way to the section you wanted. You let out a sigh at seeing the little card that said ‘Soundtracks’. Other music was good but getting a vinyl of your favorite movie score or, better yet, a video game score was your favorite. You had most of your favorite scores already but there were older ones you still kept an eye out for. They got old stock in regularly; you never knew when someone would sell their vinyl collection and one you have been after for years would make its way here.
Sam was slowly walking through the aisles, trying not to hover but clearly out of place and sticking close to Tara. You didn’t mind, you were happy Sam seemed to like you so far and that she willingly came out with all of you. Sam had her hands shoved in her pockets as her eyes glanced around the room. You saw her flinch out of the corner of your eye, when you looked to make sure she was okay you saw the little orange store cat rubbing its head against her legs. You smiled, silently chuckling to yourself, the cat loved to jump on the tables and walk around while people were looking but he didn’t usually go right up to people, especially not new people.
“You’re lucky,” you said. “It took me three months of coming here once a week to get him to let me even pet him,” you nodded at the little orange cat.
Sam smiled, she was about to reach down and pet the little guy when he jumped up on the rack of vinyl near her. He perked his little head up, his paws at the edge of the rack as he tried to reach Sam, to force her to pet him. Sam complied and began running her fingers through his fur, scratching behind his ears until he lifted his head up, making her scratch under his chin.
“Does this mean we can get a cat?” Tara asked, smiling innocently at Sam.
“Tara,” Sam sighed. She gave her sister a tired look, she opened her mouth to probably deny Tara about a pet but was cut off when the record cat stood on its hind legs and placed its front paws on her chest. She faced the cat, smiling down at it again as she ran her hands down his back again. “I’ll think about it,” she finally mumbled.
Tara didn’t say anything else, she just gave a wide smile and leaned into your side. She squeezed your hand as she cuddled closer to you. You shook your head smiling at her, you knew Tara always wanted a pet of some sort, but her mom always said no and even if Sam wanted a pet, it wasn’t convenient living in the city, in a small apartment. Sam probably didn’t realize saying she’d think about it was basically a yes to Tara, now Sam wouldn’t hear the end of it until she gave an official yes.
With your free hand you flipped through the various soundtracks, most of which you either had or were from something you had never seen before. You paused, untangling your hand from Tara’s as quickly as possible, ignoring the pout on her face, as you pulled out an album. You smiled widely; you were sure your eyes were sparkling with childlike glee. You had found it, you had finally found it, it was The Last of Us soundtrack. You had the second one, you had the one from the show, but you had missed out on the one from the first game. You flipped through some more, your excitement reigniting, maybe you’d get lucky and find more than one of the ones you’ve been searching for.
You didn’t find anything else that you had been dying to have but you pulled out the Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island soundtrack. You had been putting off getting it because it was expensive, but more time was passing, and you didn’t want to wait too long and end up missing it. You sighed and stuck in under your arm with the other one.
“Don’t you already have that?” Tara asked, wrapping her arm around yours as she intertwined your hands again. You looked down, smiling, Tara was making it as difficult as possible for you to let go of her hand again.
“I have the Ghost of Tsushima soundtrack,” you answered. “For the main game. This,” you nodded to the vinyl in your hands, “is the Iki Island soundtrack.” Tara raised an eyebrow, looking at you like you were insane. “Iki Island was an expansion.” Tara continued to only blink at you. “They’re completely different!”
Tara opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted when Chad came stumbling towards you guys, nearly dropping all the stuff in his arms. “This place is amazing!” he said, looking around at everything as he tried to re-situate his hands.
All three of you laughed at Chad struggling. “Are you serious?” Sam asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked the boy up and down.
Chad looked down at the pile in his arms. “Well, I like this music,” he nodded to the stack of vinyl’s in his arm. “And I need a record player,” he nodded to his other hands. He had a small record player tucked under his arm and it looked like a nice one, probably over a hundred bucks. “Otherwise, me buying the vinyl would just be crazy.”
The three of you shook your heads as you watched Chad make his way to the front counter. He somehow managed to set everything on the counter without dropping a thing. The three of you made your way up behind him, watching as the owner rang up the record player then each of the vinyl, which Chad managed to find several of.
“Your total is three-hundred and forty-two dollars,” the owner said once he had everything scanned.
“Holy shit,” Tara said, looking up at Chad with wide eyes. “Are you insane?”
Chad furrowed his brow as he looked down at Tara while he struggled to fish out his wallet.
“How are you going to afford that?” Sam asked. “You don’t even have a job.”
“Emergency credit card,” Chad answered, holding up the little blue credit card. He smiled as he handed it to the man behind the counter. The man sighed taking the card before swiping it.
“Mom is going to kill you,” Mindy said, joining them at the counter with Anika in tow. “That’s meant for food and necessities.”
“Yeah, and you going to the movies last week was a necessity?”
Mindy crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at her brother. “The movies isn’t three-hundred dollars.”
“Tickets are over fifteen!”
“That’s not the point!”
You shook your head, pushing your way to the front of the counter while the twins argued. Tara and Sam seemed to already be ignoring them, you had a feeling that it was an hourly occurrence for them.
“I’ll take this,” Anika said, sliding next to you as she plopped The Last of Us vinyl out of your hands. You opened your mouth to stop her, but she didn’t let you get a word out as she held up a hand to silence you. “I told you I would buy you a soundtrack for hugging you to tightly.” The owner behind the counter gave the two of you a weird side glance but continued to bag Chad’s vinyl’s. “So, I am buying this for you.” She gently shoved you away, putting herself at the front of the line and smiling at the man as she sat down your vinyl and the one, she picked out.
“How don’t you already have Hamilton?” you nodded to the vinyl she was buying for herself. “You love that play. You’ve made me watch it over a dozen times.”
“It’s expensive,” she said, holding out her card for the man. “I mean it’s Hamilton!” you chuckled, shaking your head at her. She wasn’t wrong, it was a bit more pricey than the average album. “And there’s a sale going on, so I have to grab it.”
“Of course.” You made your way back to the front as Anika grabbed her bag of stuff. You handed over your vinyl and card as the man rang it up.
“Just be prepared when you come over,” Anika said, shifting her bag around as she pulled out the album she bought for you so you could slip it in your own bag. “I will be listening to nothing else of the next six months.”
“I know how you are.” You smiled at the owner, thanking him as you grabbed the bag of your stuff.
The twins continued to argue as the six of you left the record store. Anika was quick to point to a costume shop across the street that she literally dragged Mindy to. The other four of you followed close behind them. Tara took the bag with your purchases, carrying it in her other hand so she could still keep ahold of you, and you didn’t have to carry a bag in your injured hand, even though you were down to just the brace it tended to ache after a while.
You didn’t know how long you were in the costume shop but when you all left it was the afternoon and Anika had several bundles of fabric and other types of material for costumes. She struggled to carry all of her bags, looking at Mindy with puppy dog eyes to try and get her girlfriend to help out. Mindy scoffed and continued to walk, saying that since she bought everything, she could carry it.
As the six of you made your way down the street you hit up some more shops. There were a few card or sport memorabilia shops Chad wanted to go in, that all of you begrudgingly followed him into since he was going to the stores you wanted. You were sure by the end of the trip Chad had spent near a thousand dollars, all on his emergency credit card. You didn’t necessarily agree that going to the movies was an emergency, but you did agree with Mindy, Chad would certainly be hearing from their mom.
For a late lunch you all stopped at a little Chinese restaurant, laughing and joking around about the day and the amount of money Chad spent. Every time someone brought up one of Chad’s purchases, he was quick to defend himself and explain why it was crucial he bought it today. You didn’t know everything he bought besides the stuff at the record store, but he left with bags full in every sports shop you all entered, and he had more than one jersey in his hand. You might not have known much about sports, but you were aware jerseys were expensive and you were sure being the sports guy that he was that Chad wouldn’t settle for less than the nice ones.
When you finally made it back to the Carpenters apartment, Tara pulled you down onto the couch, cuddling up to you as she rested her head on your shoulder. None of you said a word, just enjoying the silence as Chad struggled to open his record player, saying he needed to test it out and make sure everyone was educated on good music. When he had it set up, he opened one of his records and music quickly filled the once quiet apartment.
Chad jumped to his feet and instantly began dancing, he tried to pull Sam into a dance, but she quickly found herself needing to go to the kitchen. Chad waved her off, not letting it kill his mood as he continued to dance alone. Mindy laughed and shook her head at her brother, pouting once Anika got off her lap and took pity on Chad, joining him in his dancing.
You laughed and had fun with Tara and her friends. You had just met Sam, Mindy, and Chad officially the day before but once you got Sam’s approval, they were quick to welcome you into the group. You talked with them and teased Chad along with them as if you had always known them. It got so late that Tara convinced Sam to let you stay the night again, this time the others took up the offer to stay as well.
While Tara dragged you to her room for the night Anika, Mindy, and Chad were getting themselves situated in the living room. Mindy took one end of the couch while Anika took the other since it wasn’t a pullout couch. Sam tossed Chad some extra blankets and pillows and he made himself a little nest on the floor.
“They like you,” Tara whispered as she played with your hair in the darkness of her room.
“I like them,” you whispered back.
“Just remember you’re my girlfriend first,” she sat up and through the dark you knew she was giving you a pointed look.
“Don’t worry,” you leaned up and kissed her. “I won’t choose them over you.”
“Good,” she cuddled back into your side.
“Unless Anika gets tickets to Hamilton,” you added. “Then you’re on your own that night.”
Tara lightly smacked your shoulder, careful not to hit any of your injuries. You lightly chuckled, wrapping your injured arm around her as best as you could. She continued to snuggle into your side with the help of you pulling her as close as you could. Your ribs ached from the pressure, but you quickly got used to it as your body slowly settled down.
“Love you,” you mumbled into Tara’s hair. You heard her mumble a reply, but sleep had already mostly taken her, with you following soon after.
