These are Blue Bachelor's Buttons or Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus). Named for the centaur, Chiron, who was believed to have taught mankind of the healing power of herbs and the Goddess Cyanus (Flora) who's favorite flower was the cornflower. We use the fresh or dried flowers primarily for medicine and there are a ton of blessings, I'll be concise. Any questions, just ask.... cornflower calms, soothes and protects and gently stimulates some systems. Stims: digestion, immunity, gall and liver. Soothes and Calms: anxiety, frustration, muscle and joint pain, internally for irritated organs or throat or GI lining, fever, chest congestion, digestive upsets and ulcers. Eyewash for puffiness, conjunctivitis, inflammation, dark circles. Skin: soothes inflammation, relaxes facial muscles, eczema, irritations, redness, puffiness, eases sunburn. Smoothes wrinkles and texture, softens, plant constituents slow ageing. Antiseptic qualities combat acne and is great for washing & protecting scrapes and wounds. Best used as a water infusion or tea for drinking, a concentrated tea for most skin applications to which you can apply by spritz, fav with a cotton ball, pour over large areas or create a bachelor's button bath for deep soaking, esp body aches. Allergies to ragweed or daisy? Avoid this herb. Safety in pregnancy, breastfeeding and children is always insanely difficult to find---liability. These beauties flower thru most of the summer and dry wonderfully and keep well in jars. A really great, diverse and useful beauty to have around. Blessings All! #cornflowerblue #batchelorsbutton #edibleflowers #wildharvesting #wildherbs #herbaldownloads #herbalist #flora #healingplants #skincare #organic #foraging #knowthyyarden #anherbaday #chillout #eldersisterorganics #graciasporlamedicinamama
