Thoughts about Modern day Dragon him being a late diagnosed autistic

Dragon would be one of those people who knew they were different from a young age but never could figure it out because either parents (who didn’t want a ‘different’ child) or becoming so high masking that it was very difficult to tell. (Probably a mix of both)

When Dragon is 40ish he takes luffy to the doctor for a routine checkup.

The doctor tells him his son is most likely autistic.

She also tells him it’s an inherited trait

Dragons reaction is “ah.”

He never thought luffy was different. That wasn’t true he understood luffy was different but it wasn’t a bad thing in his eyes.

Unknowingly at 7 years old dragon put on a mask. It starts to crack 33 years later in a doctor’s office.

The doctor gives him some pamphlets and online resources to go through. He spends the next 24 hours going through it all + several online quizzes.

Only the next morning when he opens his closet fully prepared to go into work: when he sees all his shirts and suit jackets. That he realizes he has no idea who the fuck he is as a person.

Luffy finds him crying in a mess of ripped silks and cotton.

Luffy crawls into his lap and starts telling him about a new beetle species found in South America.

Dragon calls them both in sick and lets his son decide the schedule for the day.

Later that night he goes through old boxes in the attic. Trying to find who the fuck he is- was- could’ve been.

He finds a couple old albums, his guitar, luffys baby blanket and…

Crying is natural and normal, he has to tell himself. You are not weak for crying twice in one day.

The ring is old, it was his mother’s. It had been left with his secretary along with luffy asleep in his bassinet.

“Sometimes I feel like you just put on this face and I don’t even know which one is the real you; or if there is a real you”

He would never know how right he had been.

Dragon quits his job; he can’t stand it anymore. The partners beg him to stay, he’s the best lawyer they have. But the feeling of a suit collar now feels like a noose.

Borsalino is the only one who still contacts him after.

Dragon has money; so much money. Other than luffy and silk shirts that didn’t scrape his skin there was very little dragon spent money on.

So he glides, spends more time with luffy. Falls into a depressive episode so bad he has to stay with his mother. Tsuru purses her lips when he tells her and dragon can’t help but feel a little angry.

“You knew.”

“I suspected.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“You seemed to be fine.”

But dragon hadn’t been fine, he had been miserable. It was only now he could see how miserable he had been.

He cooks with his step mother who teaches him how to make a puff pastry. Luffy meets a boy down the street who also loves bugs. Life goes on.

Luffy gets a assessment and official diagnosis

The adhd part wasn’t that surprising to Dragon or anyone within 5 seconds of meeting luffy. his son is (affectionately) a human bounce ball.

Dragon gets an official diagnosis and sends a photo of him posing with it to borsalino. Borsalino sends a photo of himself and an online quiz. And dragon understands not everyone needs the word of a doctor to know who they are.

Garp barges into his life and demands he “stop being a freeloader and get a job.” Before flopping on the couch and doing just that.

Dragon gets the drag bar gig out of spite. Iva is the best worst thing that has ever happened to him. After finding out he knew guitar the queen needled him until he started practicing again out of spite (once again he had to stop using that as motivation)

The guitar strings cut at his fingertips.

Garp sets him up on a blind date, which ends with both him and rouge laughing themselves silly. Apparently garp had taken dragons “I like dick” comment to mean anyone who was in possession of a penis (even if it was silicone.)

He turns 42 and has to valiantly fend off Luffy, Ace and Rouge from eating his rack of ribs.

Iva gets him up on stage eventually (he was fine behind the bar)

He did like the eyeliner though and how his shoulders looked in the dress (but that was a thought for another day)

The band thing was a joke (or started as one) rouge sang, dragon played bass, iva played electric and kuma drummed his heart out.

Then it became less of a joke.

It was late, the porch was empty and the moon twinkled. Dragon cradled the phone in his hands. They had gotten a record deal.

He punched in the number slowly.

He was 45 now, he could do this.

The phone rang as he held it up to his ear.

His palms were sweaty.

Voicemail

“I uh-“ what was he supposed to say? “Hi, it’s been awhile. A long time actually- fuck I think I could tell you the exact date if I wasn’t drunk. But- you probably dont want to hear that huh?” He laughed, his breath coming out in a small cloud in the autumn air.

“So a lot happened, since you left. And I don’t blame you for leaving- just so we are clear. Yeah uhmm. So the band. I’m part of a band now surprise! We got a record deal and it made me realize I still- well that is, when I was told. I realized, your the only one I wanted to tell”

“And not in a bragging way!” He added hastily

A beeping noise, indicating the end of the message

“Wani I-“

But the message ended

Partner Pregnancy + Daughter Dating Headcanons (Admirals)

Anon: Can you do a headcanon were kizaru, akainu, fujitora and aokiji founout that there S/O is pregnant with there daughter, then years later they founout there daughter is dating

(Also i like your writings and sorry if this is too much)

Sakazuki:

First off, Sakazuki will only have a child when he is married. There is just no way in hell he will get someone pregnant. He is way too cautious about things like this so he will be married and probably has already been married for a couple of years.

It will only happen when both of them are ready and when it’s planned. So, he won’t be surprised when his partner tells him that they’re pregnant. He will nod as a way that he understood but won’t show any emotions beyond that. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care. He is over the moon, so happy that he’ll become a father because, as said before, this pregnancy was probably planned so he wanted to become a father.

Wheatear it’s a boy or a girl, he doesn’t mind. He first thought that he’d prefer a boy, eventually planning for him to become a high ranking marine in the future but once he learns that it’s a girl his heart skips a beat.

She will be daddy’s little girl. He’ll be strict but she can get away with some things (not too many though, he has a reputation to uphold). She will be well-educated in many different fields and he will train her to become a fine marine.

When he finds out that his daughter is dating someone he will hunt that person down and if she (or his wife) doesn’t stop him, throw the bastard into Impel Down or straight out kill him. How dare this low-life date his daughter?! It will take a lot of convincing from eventually every side (Borsalino will also try and calm him down) to bring his temper under control.

He won’t be pleased with his daughter dating and he will never fully accept it (even if they get married) but he will keep his thoughts to himself. There will be a scowl on his face when he sees her partner and it will be intimidating but as long as they don’t screw with his daughter he will take a backseat (unwillingly).

Borsalino:

Borsalino will be overjoyed when finding out that his partner is pregnant. If it was planned or not doesn’t matter; he will accept it regardless. Plus, he is not the type of man who sleeps around so I think he and his partner will have been in a relationship for several years by then, even if they’re not married.

He will make sure his partner has everything they need but, to be honest, he will miss some of the doctor’s appointments just because he forgets. He is excited but he is still this absent-minded guy.

He prefers a girl over a boy and he is the happiest man alive when finding out his child is going to be a girl. He will talk to her through her partner’s belly, making baby noises and telling her embarrassing stories about her mother.

She will also be daddy’s little girl but far more spoiled and she will have her daddy under control. He will be far more lenient with her than Sakazuki with his daughter and she will cause at least some trouble throughout her childhood but nothing too major. Kizaru will give her a small warning but never mention it again.

He is not too pleased when he finds out that she is dating someone. Not because he thinks she’s too young or immature for it but because he is wary of anyone who might hurt her. He will invite her partner to their home and question them about everything. He won’t be happy if her partner happens to be a marine since he knows what this entails and he wishes for her to have a normal life and not fearing they might never come back.

If he has any concerns regarding her new partner he will tell her and make it clear that she should be careful but won’t do anything beyond it. He warned her but if she still ends up heartbroken, he will tell her “I’ve told you so.”. He will come to her with ice cream/ chocolate/ whisky and try to comfort her, not holding her mistake against her since she is entitled to do her own mistakes.

Kuzan:

First, he is a little bit reserved about becoming a father if it was an accident. He might even consider an abortion but will eventually let his partner make the decision. He will be there for his child but he wouldn’t be too hurt if they decided not to get the baby.

If, however, it was planned he will be overjoyed. You can’t really tell by his face but if you look closely you will see small gestures towards his pregnant partner that will make their life more comfortable. He will also bring baby clothes home from different places, first gender neutral but then ‘girly’ colors (Don’t hate me for saying this!) Pink is his go-to color but will also get some more crazy designs.

When his daughter is born he will ask to take time off from work to help his partner, taking care of their daughter and just be a great parent. Like his two previous colleagues she will be a daddy’s girl but not to the same degree as Borsolino’s daughter will be. I see him closer to Sakazuki but not as strict as him. He’s going to be in-between these two from his parenting style.

He will look his daughter’s new partner up and down and will seem intimidating at first. He slightly hopes he will scare them away though it’s not his main intention. He just wants to make sure that her partner knows that they shouldn’t mess with his daughter.

His daughter will also be highly trained so he’s not too concerned about her physical safety. He would hate to see her heartbroken however and would love to take her pain away though he knows it’s part of life. He will have a talk with her about her future, where she sees herself and her relationship and if she thinks this person could be the one. He just wants to make sure his daughter looks at it from different angles and not make any hasty decisions

Issho:

Like Sakazuki, he will most likely be married when finding out that he will become a father. He will cry and be so overjoyed that he has to sit down at first. He will pull his partner on his lap and ask for confirmation about the pregnancy over and over again, not quite believing his luck. No matter if it was planned or not he will be there and take care of his partner during their pregnancy.

He will go even further than Kuzan and not let her do anything anymore, making her relax and let her have the easiest pregnancy possible. He won’t will be happy no matter the sex and will spoil either one. When he finds out that it will eventually be a girl he will start crying again.

The third time he will cry will be during his daughter’s birth, holding her in his arms, sitting on his partner’s bed and thanking them, the doctor and every God he can think of for this small bundle of joy he’s holding in his arms. He’s just the cutest.

He will train his daughter to defend herself but will let her enjoy her childhood, not forcing anything on her. Out of the four Admirals he will probably have the ‘best’ parenting style since he will be the most understanding and most balanced. He will get angry/ disappointed with her if he has to but he will also give er a lot of room to improve and make her own mistakes.

When it comes to dating he won’t invite them with open arms but he will be as neutral as possible, not trying to be biased and give them a chance. Like Borsalino he will tell them if he smells something fishy but will eventually let her make her own mistakes. He usually is very trustworthy but when it comes to his daughter he will become more wary.

If his daughter feels certain about her partner he will open up to them more and more and he will be the best father-in-law you could wish for (if it comes to marriage). Honestly. He’s just so amazing as a father, father-in-law, grandfather, whatever! (I could go on and on but let’s stop here.)

here is a concept: a grow up mitsu meets her dad and papa when they were still young marine recruits (i don't care how, I just liked the idea that since she already made angry an old version of saka in her childhood she could piss him off also in his youth)

((Ok so let me tell you, I have head cannons about this. SO MANY. I have legitimately thought about what it would be like for Mitsu to meet her dads at other points in her life and their lives so often. So I’m leaving all my thoughts about grown up Mitsu meeting her dads under the cut, but let me tell you, there’s a lot. Once I started writing there was SO MUCH that I had to get out. This was fun to do man! Thanks!))

It probably happened because the Grand Line is weird and Devil Fruit powers were involved. Honestly she wouldn’t care at all except for the fact that she had to get back because she actually has a family and all. First move would be to go to a Marine base and she’d see them there. Now initially she would have no fucking clue who these guys were, not because they look that radically different, but because her first thought would be ‘Wow those two are hot.’

Not even a minute later though she realizes who they are just by how they are carrying themselves and promptly flips out. Like she just thought her dads were attractive, EW, but also, what the hell is Saka actually not yelling at someone right then? Borsalino doesn’t have his glasses on who is this person? Public displays of affection? I mean it’s probably something small like Borsalino putting his arm around Sakazuki but it’s enough to make her do a double take.

A part of her would want to try and see if she could freak the both of them out and I can see her trying that. She’d probably start just cutting into Borsalino’s jokes, the ones that he just learned or came up with like a week ago, but that she grew up hearing. Every time Sakazuki starts going on a rant she just interrupts him by finishing exactly what he was going to say. And then she’d start just slowly ribbing them, like she knows what they’ve done, she knows who they are, knows things about them that no one but family would know. Because of course, she is family, and no matter how closed of Sakazuki is you can’t hide everything about yourself and your past from a hyperactive curious child who lives with you for years. Especially not with Borsalino as your husband.

Eventually she’d probably just come out and be like “Yeah so I’m like, your future kid and all.” Most likely she does it to stop them from trying to kill her, because at this point if she tried to fight back she could whoop their butts. I mean they are new recruits and she’s at least a damn lieutenant at this point. She doesn’t want to fight and probably explains and I can see Sakazuki not believing it, and Borsalino just being like “Wait which one of us fucked a fish?”

The more they’re around her though the more they start to believe it because of the little things. She has Sakazuki’s same glare when something makes her really mad. Whenever she tells a joke she bounces on her feet a little bit like Borsalino does. Her inflections and speech patterns are like an odd mix of both of theirs and they sometimes have to do a double take when they hear it. Probably the weirdest part for both of them though would be knowing that eventually they are actually close enough to raise this kid and to both their surprise (Borsalino’s especially) she turned into a really nice person and a very good Marine.

Weirdly enough I see past Borsalino being the one to distance himself most from her, because he never saw himself having kids. He doesn’t want to think about life that seriously and knowing he just took her in like that and raised her and actually properly settled down in a way… it shakes him up a lot. But Sakazuki I can see being the complete opposite. At this point he’s probably not AS hardened and a small part of him likes the idea that he has something in his future to look forward to like a family. In an odd way he becomes attached and doesn’t want her to go, because from what she’s mentioned he doesn’t always act like the best father. 

More than that I can see him almost sinking into the idea that everything he’s doing now is just worth it, because as much shit as Borsalino gives him, he loves the man, and they raised this person together, and with all the crap going on right now he doesn’t want to loose that. He wants her to stay because he knows he’s loosing something, but doesn’t know what, and she can’t say, and the look in her eyes like she’s never seen him this happy and well adjusted scares the fuck out of him. Because he isn’t happy, he isn’t well adjusted, he’s just not! But this girl loves him with all her heart and cries when she sees either of them hurt or arguing or threatening to fall apart. And that’s the same thing that gets to Borsalino too, that sort of unconditional love that you can really only get being raised by an amazing family. He didn’t make the same mistake as Sakazuki by wanting to know more, because he already realized it, realized that if he got any closer he’d be heartbroken to see her go.

A little bit of the worst part is when she does finally leave. Neither one would likely remember what had happened and yet they’d both feel like something was now missing. I can see it strengthening their bond in an odd way.

As far as Mitsu goes… the next time she sees her dads she has to try her hardest not to cry. And she doesn’t really succeed. Knowing just how entrenched Sakazuki became in his beliefs and how he wasn’t always THIS angry and cold… it hurts her. She was and always will be a little closer to Sakazuki than Borsalino, despite everything, so it hits her hard. And with Borsalino… I think the hardest part would be the wondering, not knowing if he actually wants her or not. Did he just take her in because he was pitying her? Like he does with all the dogs? Does he only care about her now because it’s been so long or because he feels like he has to for Sakazuki, who would never admit he wanted a family of any sort? 

After all is said and done she finds herself hard pressed to believe that Borsalino really loves her, and really took her in because he cared. And she feels somehow responsible for making Sakazuki’s life harder and colder than it already was. On the one hand, she’s glad she knows… on the other hand… she really just hopes it was all a dream.

I absolutely adore your writing! Could you do headcanons about Kizaru, Kuzan, Akainu, and Fujitora rescuing their SO after they were kidnapped by pirates and tortured? I just wonder what they would do with someone they love being tortured and pretty much being a shell of their former self.

Okay, before you read let’s be real: Akainu will be a f*cking bad partner and he is an asshole (I’d still let him fuck me all night long). 

So, now that this is out of the way, please enjoy. I think Kuzan’s and Borsalino’s reaction would be pretty similar, but that’s just my opinion. 

Borsalino (Kizaru)

The weight that had been pushing him down this whole time, not knowing if you were okay or even worse – still alive – finally fell off his shoulders. He makes sure to keep you close to him the whole time, guiding you to the marine ship and making sure you don’t have to see any of your abductors.

He is unusually quiet. Where he usually has to say something he keeps his mouth shut, giving you comfort. The possibility is high that you don’t want to be touched though so he makes sure to give you space if you ask for it.

He makes sure you are properly treated by a professional to talk to someone about your trauma. Dealing with being tortured is very hard, he understands, especially if his s/o is not a marine and not used to fighting/ getting hurt.

If you want him to stay by your side, he will take some time off from his duties but will eventually get back since Sakazuki won’t be lenient forever (more about him later). If, however, you want him to give you more space at home he will sleep on the couch and bring you breakfast/lunch/dinner or some snacks in-between.

He will eventually try talking to you about your trauma and will listen if you are ready to talk but not push you if you’re not. Borsalino is a always laidback and knows what to say but this whole time he is careful what he says. He doesn’t want to trigger anything inside of you.

He believes, however, that you will have to face what has happened to you in order to move on. He somehow also expects it at some point, not to torture you again but to give you some sort of closure (though you probably will never really get closure). He is there every step of the way to support you to go back to a ‘normal’ life.

Kuzan (Aokiji)

Like Borsalino, Kuzan is making sure to keep you close to him. Once you’re on deck of the ship he will go back and make sure all of your kidnappers are either arrested or dead (probably frozen to death if they were running away). Once he made sure everything is safe he will come to where you’re being treated at and lean against the door, arms crossed and watching you.

If he makes you feel uncomfortable, he will leave but he would want to stay with you, keep an eye on you and make sure you’re okay. Like Borsalino, he will not push you to talk about it right away but will ask you way sooner than the other one. He wants to know where you’re hurt, what they’ve done to you but will stop once he notices how difficult it is for you to talk about it.

Once you’re at home he will also make sure you get the proper treatment and will stay by your side (or at least close to you) at all times. He will tell Sengoku that he won’t be going on any missions until he made sure that you’re okay by yourself again.

Even if you insist that you’re okay he probably will stay by your side a little longer. He senses that you’re indeed not fine yet and I believe you will thank him for not leaving you alone, all by yourself and no one to share your thoughts with.

But I can see him also having doubts about your relationship. Not because he doesn’t love you but because he is actually scared that someone will abduct you again. He is sure that it was his fault from the beginning and if it happened once the possibility is high that it’ll happen again. Especially since it is (now) well-known that you’re his s/o.

He is also pretty sure that this thought has also crossed your mind and he will ask you how you want to proceed from now on. It hurts him to see you like this but he would feel guilty for leaving you alone if you chose to break things off. If you did he would still make sure that you’re protected at all times, having at least two soldiers watch over you every day.

Sakazuki (Akainu)

He will remove every rock, every leaf to find you and once he does, oh boy, none of your kidnappers will be alive once his rage quiets down. He doesn’t care if he is scaring you (in the moment), he just wants those bastards to pay. He will capture their leader though and send him to Impel Down, just for him to be tortured.

Sakazuki is not a reasonable person (when he’s angry) and would want to find out if there were more people involved. In other words: he won’t be there to keep you company. He will check in from time to time but other than questioning you he won’t be an emotional support (sorry, for anyone else who likes him).

Once he realizes how much you’re suffering though, he might consider taking a day off to keep you company but that’s pretty much it. He is not heartless, he just thought you were stronger. He is in a relationship with you for a reason and in this time he questions himself if he made the right decision. He expects his partner to be emotional stable and support him. He’s not too great at it himself so….it probably won’t last much longer if you can’t “get over it”.

Though, like Kuzan, he will make sure you’re protected during your recovery and even after, having marines watch you from now on to make sure something like that won’t happen again.

Issho (Fujitora)

Out of these four he will be the most caring and most understanding. He will listen to you, give you advice and even try to take some of your pain away by giving you some normality back. He will tell you about his day, bring you sweet gifts, or just sit there and keep you company.

Like the other three he will make sure you get counseling but will probably be the only one to attend some sessions with you (if you let him). He’s honestly the sweetest. If you wish for more time to yourself, he will give you space but like keep an ‘eye” on you. He will know where you are even if he’s not around.

He will also make himself responsible because he thinks that it is his responsibility to protect you and keep you away from any harm. He will talk to you about his feelings as well (if you listen) bit make sure that he will always be there for you. He knows you most likely wouldn’t want any physical contact but his presence alone will give you some ease of mind, knowing he’s there for you. 

Once you’re ready to talk to him he will feel with you. It honestly breaks his heart to see you like this and he will cry quietly to what you tell him. The things they’ve done to you, how you’ve suffered – to him, it’d be like he was there with you, being tortured with you. He wants to hold you closely but understands if you don’t want to.
