Actress Caroline Danjuma, took to her IG page to call out her colleagues that failed to show up for a protest that took place in Lagos today against the current slave trade happening in Libya. ____ According to Caroline, it is not enough to post photos and condemn the act on IG, celebrities should also make an effort to take action such as engaging in protests like this to condemn the despicable act. #NCFRMI #LibyaSlaveTrade #Angel4LifeFoundation #NikkiLaoye #PrayForLibya #Libya #teampca #pcafricablog (at Lagos, Nigeria)

@Regrann from @nikkilaoye - #Update #TheLibyaSituation #SwipeForMorePics: This is @NikkiLaoye Reporting for NCFRMI as the NCFRMI Southwest Voice of Refugees and IDPs/Founder of Angel 4 Life Foundation. . . "Itβs a very sad, appalling situation indeed about this Libya Slave Trade and The Federal Government via NCFRMI @ncfrmi_sw in conjunction with the IOM has been getting Nigerians out from Libya since last year. Most of them were deceived to migrate illegally from Nigeria through the desert in a bid to get to Europe. And the government is bringing in more Nigerians this night 28th of Nov, 2017. . I will be there myself. . . A total of 3,480 young Nigerians, mostly girls,Β were returned from Libya in the last 10 months, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRMI) has confirmed. The NCRMI South-West Zonal Director, Mrs Magret Ukegbu confirms, that the returnees were received from Feb. 1 to Nov. 6. Ukegbu said that the commission had been working with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant organisations in receiving the returnees. . . βFrom February to the first week of this month of November, we have received about 3,480 young Nigerian returnees from Libya. βThese young Nigerians, mostly girls from age 14, were received in different weeks during the period. βWe have found out that the IOM, European Union (EU), Dutch and Swiss governments are involved in the return of these Nigerians from Libya,ββ she said. She said that some of the young people returned with pregnancy. According to her, there are more than 12,000 young Nigerians in prisons or stranded in different parts of Libya. Ukegbu expressed worry at the situation. She said that the commission was working to ensure durable integration of the returnees into the Nigerian society. βThe commission believes that it is not enough to receive these young Nigerians; it is important that they are urgently given the needed mentoring, training & rehabilitation . #NCFRMI #Angel4LifeFoundation #SlaveAuction #CaringForTheDisplaced #Libya #LibyaSlaveTrade Cc: @alibabagcfr @yemialade @tiwasavage

Well done @nikkilaoye π. 239 Nigerians have just returned fron Libya and are being taken care of. You can help put a stop to this atrocity (Human auction) by; 1. Raising awareness within your community and online 2. Reaching out to your political representatives to prompt them to take action 3. Supporting governmental orgs and non-profits that fight human trafficking. In #Nigeria, NAPTIP is the major govt org focused on this. 4. Creating jobs and educational opportunities for young and vulnerable people in your community. 5. Volunteering for and donating to the rehabilitation of deportees. Hundreds of Nigerians have been deported from #Libya this year. As recently as just a few weeks ago. @nikkilaoye - #Update: The 239 Nigerian Migrants En-route to the hotel accommodation provided for them. Libya deportees vow to hunt for βCharlesβ, others - The Nation Some Nigerians who were recently deported from Libya have said they would hunt for one Charles and others who collected money from them for the ill-fated journey to Europe. Those who spoke in Benin City were among the 168 Libya deportees that were on Tuesday received by the Edo State Government. Governor Godwin Obaseki had promised to train deportees from Libya with adequate skills required to reintegrate them back to the society. Many of the deportees looked skinny and exhausted while some woman had babies. Some of the deportees said it was one Charles that collected money from them to take them to Europe but abandoned them in Libya. They claimed that the said Charles had several bank accounts with different names through which he collect money from victims as well as operate a camp base in Libya where Nigerians are kept for days without food. A deportee who gave his name Alex Otoide said he witnessed the sale of 20 Nigeria girls in the prison where he was kept. βThey sold like 20 girls in the night. It was God that save me. More than seven people died from hunger and thirst inside the prison. βCanβt you see how I look lean and hungry. I need to go for treatment. I left Nigeria with N500,000 but I spent six months in Libya jail after the man that took my money ran away. βWe were 55 that left for Libya, 25 people died in the desert.β Osas Blessing said Charles was one of those they call βburgersβ or βconnection manβ in the Libya route. βI gave Charles N450,000 but when I got to Libya he increased it to N600,000. He is very wicked. He does not care for human live. He is a Benin man. He will say if you die you die. He pushed us into the sea at the wrong time. I heard he just left Nigeria with new passengers to Libya. He has frustrated many Nigerians.β Another deportee who refused to give his name said another Nigerian only known as βBiafraβ was responsible for the many atrocities committed against migrants in Libya. #NCFRMI #LibyaSlaveTrade #Angel4LifeFoundation #NikkiLaoye #PrayForLibya #Libya (at Lagos, Nigeria)

Report from @nikkilaoye - One of the Nigerian Migrants from Libya couldn't walk, He was bodily carried off the plane by one of his friends (a fellow migrant). Femi Fani-Kayode, a onetime aviation minister in Nigeria, claimed that 75 per cent of slaves who have their organs harvested in North Africa are from his country. The Cambridge University-educated lawyer added that the victims have their 'bodies mutilated' and are 'roasted like suya [shish kebabs]'. He went on: 'Roasted alive! This is what Libyans do to sub-Saharan Africans who are looking for a transit point to Europe. 'They sell them into slavery and either murder, mutilate, torture or work them to death.' Fani-Kayode, writing on Twitter, also bemoaned the overthrow of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi and attacked Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari for 'remaining silent' about slavery. It comes after a shocking report revealed that migrants and refugees are being sold as slaves by human traffickers in Libya for as little as a few hundred pounds. #NCFRMI #LibyaSlaveTrade #Angel4LifeFoundation #NikkiLaoye #PrayForLibya #Libya (at Lagos, Nigeria)
