Back in late October 2019, I was fortunate to be brought on by Steve Johnson and Amber Talarico to work on Slipknot’s NERO FORTE music video. I assisted in creating the cocoons, the silicone webbing and latex viens, and performing other lab duties. Aside from that, I was also the test model for the cocoons and it's great to see much more coverage of our work then in the previous video. Shop crew consisted of Cameron McPeters, Gladys Ramirez, Veronica Vasquez, Izzy Granack, Shaina Paulson, Madeline Graham, Carlos Gomez, and Leslie Felix. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go to set, it was a fun experience and I got to hang out at Rick Baker’s on Halloween. While working on a Slipknot video is something, it truly was a dream come true to get to work with one of my heroes. Thanks for bringing me on board, Steve.

Some more Photoshop fun I did earlier this morning. Just like the witch, I had used a random headshot from the internet and had some difficulty trying to figure out to do. I knew I wanted to do something subtle and deal with age again. Rick Baker’s work in COMING TO AMERICA and LIFE were definitely two big influences on this one. Actually got the mustache from a photo of Obba Babatundé and the forehead from one of Keith David. Was a fun little character piece and hopefully can do more to improve upon the next one. Swipe to see the original photo.

Been playing around in Photoshop again and did these witch concepts. Wanted to do one with realistic flesh tones and another with some stereotypical greenish/yellowish skin that we would associate with witches. Was not my intention but as I went on it somewhat reminded me of Helena Bonham Carter in BIG FISH. Was a fun challenge and onto the next thing to learn from.
