The North East’s Biggest Music Event LooseFest returns to Newcastle with their biggest line up yet
Tumblr media
Sean Paul, Craig David, Chase & Status, Patrick Topping and more headline The North East's largest and most ambitious music festival is back again on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August at Newcastle’s unique and expansive inner-city green space, the Town Moor.  Once again, 30,000 people are expected to attend each day of the already legendary LooseFest weekender who have put together their biggest line-up to date, with headline artists including Sean Paul, Chase & Status, Craig David, Patrick Topping, Ben Hemsley, Joel Corry, Andy C, Sub Focus, Dimension, Example, Sigala and Tinie Tempah as well as some of the biggest DJs around including Franky Wah, Alan Fitzpatrick, Hot Since 82, Kettama, Jax Jones, Sigala and many more, all lined up across five spectacular arenas. Tickets go on General Sale on Friday 17th February, but sign-up now at www.loosefest.com to get early access to all tickets and payment plans 2 hours before general release.  In 2022, LooseFest became the largest festival in history to take over Newcastle’s Town Moor. The location is one of the largest inner-city greenspaces in Europe, spanning over 1,000 acres, making it larger than New York City's Central Park (843 acres). The LooseFest team have entered into a long-term partnership with the Freemen of Newcastle and the City Council to secure the future expansion of the site for many years to come, firmly cementing the North East on the UK festival map and beyond. Last year’s event was truly historic, transforming the area into an adult wonderland and for 2023, the LooseFest team are taking things another step further, with 5 incredible arenas, a carefully curated street food village, funfair, a range of bars and vendors and unique immersive activations including a Bentley and Ferrari experience in VIP and in the festival’s very own digital Metaverse. Although the festival does not currently offer on site camping, with the location being so close to the city centre, there is a huge range of accommodation options nearby, from hotels to Airbnb’s, as well as excellent transport links, making LooseFest one of the most easily accessible large-scale events in the country.  The music of course is the centrepiece of the festival, playing out across five bespoke stages each with their own bold look and stunning sound, covering everything from house, DnB and disco to techno, RnB and dance classics. The production is right at the cutting edge, with state of the art sound and lighting rigs, special effects and decor that is literally out of this world. A vital mix of international talent as well as local and UK stars from across the musical spectrum all line-up again this year. Chief amongst them is global superstar Sean Paul, international drum & bass pin-ups Chase & Status and Andy C, R&B sensation Craig David with his TS5 show, chart topping party starter Example, UK grime star Tinie Tempah and Newcastle’s very own Patrick Topping, who will be hosting one of the arenas under his ever popular Trick imprint. Also performing across the line-up are some of the biggest artists spanning the full breadth of electronic music, including DnB and bass selectors Sub Focus, Dimension, Bou and Kings of the Rollers, house, tech and techno maestros, Ben Hemsley, Joel Corry, Hot Since 82, Alan Fitzpatrick, Jax Jones, Schak and Syreeta as well as dance legends Judge Jules, Artful Dodger, Ultrabeat, Phats & Small, Flip & Fill and for the soulful house and disco lovers, Horse Meat Disco, A-Track and many more, with arenas hosted by Capital, Trick, Worried About Henry, What The Funk, Let’s Get Loose, Utopiar and Mixtape.  LooseFest has grown at an incredible rate since its debut in Herrington Park in 2021. Last year it set an all new standard for events in the North East and 2023 will be bigger and better than ever. The team behind the festival is made up of experienced industry experts, having created and curated some of the region’s best events, venues, and festivals over the past 10 years. Last year’s event created hundreds of jobs for the local community, working with as many local suppliers as possible, bringing in over £12m to the local economy and delivering an amazing experience to tens of thousands of party goers from across the UK. LooseFest 2023 is the ultimate way to spend a summer's weekend in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, without the hassle of out-of-town travel and camping in the mud. Make sure it's on your to do list this year. Sign up now at www.loosefest.com and we’ll see you in the Toon! X Artworks That Should Be Made Into Figma Table Museum Figures:
Some of you may know that Figma, purveyors of fine weeaboo action dolls, has recently been making highly articulated action figures based on classic art. This is rad as hell.
But, I got to thinking, there's plenty of stuff that isn;t made for that line yet, and that's why I'm making a big doofy list of 'em!
Two rules for this list, one they gotta be public domain, to avoid the issue of “could they pay the license” So sadly stuff like Bacon’s horrible screaming pope or Max Ernst's Kaiju isn’t gonna be on here.
Secondly only one per artist, to keep it interesting, tho with runner-ups mentioned. Thirdly, no sequential art, I'm saving PD comics that deserve Weeaboo Action Dolls for another article entirely.
But yeah, onward past the break!
Tumblr media
Satan from Heironymous Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights
We all knew something from the master of macabre Bosch had to be in there somewhere, and while that helmeted bird-demon with the baby legs is coming in close second, I think the big Satan himself has to go to that pick
His “throne” and chamberpot/crown would be perfect accessories, and you could probably do a lot of fun stuff with that gross “bubble” coming out. Also a lot of creepy stuff. But I digress.
Tumblr media
Arthur Rackham’s Fafnir
Out of all of these, this is the least likely one to show up, if only for its artist's obscurity, but Rackham's work is so gorgeous it had to show up, and Fafnir would be perfect! We see so little in terms of dragons in that figural realm
Of course, we'd also be inundated with horrible vore pics involving it and the various Figma animu girls, and I have no idea how to feel about that.
Tumblr media
J.J. Grandville’s Misocampe Wasp
Grandville is one of the greatest cartoonists of his time, so he had to be somewhere on here. I think the Misocampe Wasp is almost certainly one of the most striking and emblematic of his works; though the spindly limbs might be slightly difficult to engineeer.
But, they're high-end premium Weeaboo Action Dolls, so I'm sure they could work it out. Juggler of Worlds would probably be in second place out of Grandville's works; due to its iconic status and the fact that Inneundo was one of the best goddamn albums ever fight me.
Tumblr media
William Blake’s Great Red Dragon
Also, gotta have Blake on here, and if you're including Blake, you gotta include his iconic rebel bad-boy-with-a-heart-of-gold figure. I think that's what it is at least. I'm not that familiar with Blake.
But, it does look cool as hell, and I'd totally want an accessory based on the novel Red Dragon (Yes, the one that introduced Hannibal). And he'd look rad as hell posing with the Billy Herrington Figma, don't lie, you all wanna see that.
Tumblr media
Hans Holbein’s Der Ritter
Yes, I will admit, this is mainly here for the Slender Man link. But also because it's a rad skeleton man in armor! Everybody loves rad skeletons in armor! If they know what's good for them!
Tumblr media
Gustave Dore’s Satan from Paradise Lost
Yes, there are a lot of demons on this list! Because they show up a lot in monster-related art and are dope/iconic as hell! And, what list of characters from classic art would be complete without somethinf from Dore?!
I picked the Paradise Lost Satan over the Dante's Inferno one not just because of bat-winged-bishie and all, but because it'd probably be relatively easier to make and also less cost-prohibitive, but the Inferno one comes at a close second.
Tumblr media
John Bauer’s Trolls
Everybody loves Norwegian Trolls! IF THEY KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR THEM!
And what better basis for an action figure than one of the greats of nordic troll designs, John Bauer?! This'd be especially good if they were larger figures at a larger price point, if only so you could re-enact the scene above with [Insert Animu Waifu Here]/Super Pochaco
Tumblr media
That One Fucked Up Stork Demon From Salvador Rosa’s The Temptation of St Anthony
I'm not sure quite how to justify that I want an action figure of it except, holy shit, look at it.
And also I'm pretty sure it's what they based Slogra on in Castlevania, so if you want an equivalent to them while knowing #FucKonami isn't gonna get paid; that is also a good reason to want the storkbeast
Tumblr media
Charles R. Knight’s Laelaps
We had to put a pic from the master of classic paleoart on here, andI think this is a good balance between “iconic” and “of a species that will never get a figure otherwise”
Plus, that, and they'd be perfect for either a two pack or for justifying buying two of, not to mention being literally designed for posing!
Tumblr media
Saturn from Goya’s Saturn Devouring His Son
We all knew this had to be on here. The disquieting nightmarish gaze of the figure would be fascinating to see translated into three dimensions, and the accessory of his son would be perfect!
Plus, think of all the extremely, extremely dark comedy photoshoots you could make with this fucker! I know I at least want to see that one of these days from @theassortment, so make it happen Goodsmile! And also the rest of these, taht too!
But, which ones do you think would make for good figures that i missed out on in this list? I know of at least afew I plan to use for another one, and I’m always willing to ask about more! So, tell me in the reblogs/replies folks!

#119 #switch 5. || Josh Harmony | Toy Machine
What Youth: Hol nőttél fel?
Azok a régi Foundation videók, és természetesen a (Toy Machine) Welcome to Hell videója. A Girl Mouse is fantasztikus volt. Tulajdonképpen ma is ugyanezeket a táborokat szeretem. Sok ember stílusát szeretem, a karakteres személyiségeket.
WY: Van más olyan hatás is a gördeszkázáson kívül, ami táplálja a kreativitásod?
WY: Dolgoztok valami újon a Freckles-szel?
WY: Hogyan segített a hit a személyiséged alakulásában?

Las Ramblas Golf Society Results for w/c 22.4.19
Due to the freak weather conditions over the weekend (and there I was basking in record temperatures back in the UK!) Friday’s Easter Egg competition was postponed until Monday. It took the form of a 2 ball better ball and winning with 44 points, were Nora Betts and John Drakesmith. Second place, with 43, were Joyce McClusky and Olga Douglas. However, the runners up would have been Ron Phipps and Mike Mahony had they remembered to actually hand in their scorecard! Nearest the pin on the 6th was Bryan Neal and nearest in two on the par four 15th was Donna Campbell. The finishing post is in sight now as on Wednesday we competed in round 5 (of 6) of our ‘Eclectic Joker Stableford’. Winner on the day and just beating Mike Chapman on countback, with 42 points, was Benedicte Kruse. Another good result for John Drakesmith this week as he grabbed third place with 41 points. Five ‘2’s today (and making sure she remains at the top of the money list) Nora Betts was in there again. Phil Herrington, Lindsay Forbes, Andy McDonald and Terry Cullen made up the numbers. Our quote this week is from an unknown author who remarked ‘Golf is a lot of walking, broken up by disappointment and bad arithmetic’. No report for Friday again this week as the course is closed forcing a few of us to give Villamartin a visit.
