Was so hyped for Daniele actually having a chill adult figure in his life and a place he felt safe how could they do this, like when said he loved her i was literally like aww how cute thinking it was like in a familial way or something?
actually had to close my computer and take a break after that how did they fumble that relationship so bad it could have been so sweet
Andrea slayed this season tho so proud of him my shining star
bestie if you feel bad i tweeted this before it happened
Tumblr media
i'm laughing at myself for 2 days now because i really thought. I REALLY THOUGHT. legit feel stupid as hell!!! can't believe they did me like that 😭😭 i'm so crazy for thinking an adult would help someone without sleeping with them CRAZYY
[insert that bus meme where andrea is thriving on the right and everyone else is miserable on the left]

having thoughts and feelings about the devil wears prada, bear with me
first thought? didn’t give Two Shits about andy’s boyfriend, so sorry. that man was weak to me personally, and his lack of support was evident from the jump.
second thought, love love Love the concept of the protagonist and antagonist having a conversation about how they’re the same. andy having to face that she had fell into her cognitive dissonance, that she Had Become miranda, and the only thing stopping her from being the person she hated was self awareness? Chef’s Kiss
third thought, how clever it was to make andy more individualistic while being called a generic name and having her lose that individuality when miranda started using her real name. it feels like a metaphor for manipulation, the feeling of being “seen” and praised but it was just a mirage in the desert, lulling you into a sense of security that never existed.
fourth, i Do have a negative vibe from the overall implication of a career woman being a poor wife or girlfriend or friendless. i understand that there was more to the story, and miranda was still trying very hard to be a good mom—just a frequent underlying plot point that always rubs the wrong way.
numero cinco—mirANDa and ANDrea makes me wonder if miranda was once called andy. anyway.
nombre six; stanley tucci’s character was so integral. like, when you first watch and meet him, it almost feels like he’s there to be the only supportive coworker that is conveniently funny, but it’s not? the way they gave him a story, a Genuine place to be, and showcased all the variations of workaholics. miranda, who was successful at work and hardly anywhere else, and emily. emily, the struggling workaholic that had the motivation, but just fell shy of success. and stanley tucci, who had ambition and drive, but wasn’t willing to step on others to get higher—always falling short, always being the step for miranda.
#7. if they ever made a remake, i’d be interested in a version with a sprinkle of respect to fashion itself. like, yes, criticize the aspects of the industry that deserve it, but also include the art of it all. people see models the way artists see canvas, and fabric like paint. i’d like to see that, to see deeper than the corporate evils.
last one, i swear, but i just . could not vibe with the friends and boyfriend. NO CAUSE. i get it, i Do, and it’s not an incorrect perspective? but them taking all of her free shit just to be cruel when miranda called, and being upset with not seeing her when she had no control over her (shit paying??) job. maybe it’s the economy we’re in, but it felt so malicious. maybe i’m the issue there.
