The Craving for Oblivion
Tumblr media
For privacy and safety reasons, I will not be revealing too much information. However, I hope this post helps someone regardless.
In my latest round of shadow work, I found a pretty interesting shadow. He was a primal shadow, with 95% animal features and 5% human ones. In fact, he hd two other shadows under its control with fear as his weapon. He craved oblivion, not in the true suicidal way, but in the sense that he wanted to escape the outer world and return to source.
It was a tricky shadow. Everytime I tried contacting the bastard, he'd put me to sleep. Inadvertently, this helped me put together that the shadow was the one controlling my disassociation and severe hypersomnia, things of that nature. Just like any shadow, I transitioned from logically understanding the reasons behind it (while also resenting it) to starting to empathise with it. It wasn't that he didn't know what he was doing, far from it. He just also didn't know any better way to keep me safe.
I'm not gentle. Not always. I'm blunt and even callous at times. But if I love someone or something, I'll love it wholly and truthfully. It partly reminds me of how Lord Ares loves me. I don't know whether it's because I always use bargaining and deals to integrate my shadow or if it's because Lord Hermes was there watching but the little fucker now helps me with going deeper when meditating/connecting with the deities. It's not quite a guide but he's promised to help me reach deeper with shadow work and the more visual witchcraft spells. Of course, in addition to that, I'm learning to love my shadows as I would love a niece or nephew.
Despite it being as dangerous as any beast that'd devour me, it's still nice to rely on that part of myself and call on it. I try my best to be cautious while still being loving, but at the end of the day, it's still me. I gently whack it with newspaper as easily as I give him a kiss on the forehead. As my Lords do with me, I will love it even when it falters while also asking it to get up and keep going (without rushing him) and also ask for it to reciprocate this kindness should I falter in meeting its needs.
Stuff that helped me figure stuff out about the shadow before confronting it:
Rider Waite Tarot to figure out his needs, wants and themes
Oracle deck to figure out where he dwelled (eg. A card depicting the deep sea) as well as any other needs, wants and themes
Visualisation and active imagination to understand his needs and wants/ as a way of communication since this shadow is so primal that it couldn't speak verbally
Jungian theory and framework
YouTube channels such as This Jungian Life podcast, Nu Mindset, Patrick Teahan, Micheal Sealey, Tim Flitcher, Lisa A. Romano and other such channels.
Other tarot/mystic communities that Lord Hermes directed to me
And last but not least, Lord Hermes's guidance, love and laughter (and some of Lord Ares's wisdom and love)
It might take on different forms for everyone and this may be a more advanced shadow, so much so that Lord Hermes disallowed me to confront it myself. That being said, the craving for oblivion may be a shadow that many of us deal with. I hope this post assists at least one person in finding what ails them.

Tumblr media

Biografia - Novo Testamento - Apóstolo Tiago (filho de Alfeu)
novembro 13, 2023
Graça, Paz e Alegria!
Mensagem do Portal Evangélico Compartilhando Na Web.
Ricardo, pastor

Writing News
I know it’s not comic book writing, which is what I’ve always wanted to make this Tumblr about, but they’re such big milestones in my writing career, that I cannot not share them with all of you!
I’ve published my first novel! That’s right, a full-length, 200-page novel titled “A Coroa de Jesus!” It follows the adventures of two Knights Templar in the 13th century as they try to capture and bring back Jesus Christ’s famous crown of thorns to put an end to a bitter dispute between Sancho II and Afonso III for Portugal’s throne.
You can know more about it and order it from the publisher’s website
Tumblr media
And I’ve also had my first English-language short story published in issue 12 (”Nameless”) of the New Reader Magazine. “The River” is a drama centered in the highs and lows of being a poker player. Check it out at newreadermagazine.com
Tumblr media
That’s all for now! Thank you for coming along in this writing journey with me! Hopefully there will be some new chapters (literally and figuratively) ahead next year!
Happy holidays!

Deiciders #2
Tumblr media
Deiciders #2 Markosia 2020 Written by André Mateus Pencilled by Pedro Mendes Inked by Nuno Mesquita Sarabando Coloured by Patrik Caetano Lettered by Ryan Bielak    Tired and broken after putting down a Wolf God, Ulfrith and Olaf cross the icy plains of Scandinavia to kill a mythical dragon when they come upon a mysterious stranger. But is it friend... or foe?    I like this series a whole heck of a lot.  I hope that when another arc is announced that we get to see the further adventures through travelling together because how this ended and leads into the final issue did not make me a happy camper.  I am really impressed with what Andre has managed to do here because in a short while he has introduced us to strangers and made them feel like family.  In a twisted Norse way naturally.  It is that talent and ability he possesses which has enabled him to bring them to life so quickly and have them make an impact upon the reader as well as being able to relate or identify with them.    I am thoroughly enjoying the way that this is being told, sans the ending of this issue.  The way that we see the story & plot development through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is extremely well presented.  The way we see a new character introduced and the flow that’s created by all this is wonderfully done.  The character development that we see through how they act and react to situations and circumstances beautifully demonstrates how they keep growing and evolving.  The pacing here is great and as it takes us through the pages it shows how everything works together to create the ebb & flow for the story.    Aside from a very unique setting and the obvious Norse names that they gave their children in reverence to the Gods they worshipped, I like this because it is at its core a sword and sorcery style tale that doesn’t read like one.  It reads like an action adventure thriller as they aren’t on a real quest for fame and fortune as it were and it’s not a buddy story as well and that it can encompass all of them and yet doesn’t so that it forges its own unique path is a thing to admire.    The interiors here are absolutely beautifully rendered.  I love the linework we see here and how the varying weights are being utilised to show this nice amount of attention to detail.  I am a fan of Pendro’s eye and for this art team in general because the backgrounds we see are utilised perfectly.  If there is to be a blank one they’ve been turned into the sky or have this gradation from the light source.  I would prefer no blanks of any kind as that hinders the depth perception, scale and overall sense of size and scope to the book and here it’s well managed, to bring all those things to us.  The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a really nice eye for storytelling.  I am really impressed with the inks here as well.  I like how we see them come from the pencils and how Nuno varies his own weights to really punch thi9ngs up.  The colour work is great.  I like how we see the hues and tones within the colours utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work we see.       I am really loving this story, these characters and the creators themselves.  It is interesting to bond with all of this this way because projects come and go so we are never guaranteed they’ll be back for another round.  Markosia has some phenomenal books out on stands in the repertoire that you need to be reading.

Como os apóstolos morreram.
No entanto, nós encaminhamos as mensagens desagradáveis?
