Dancing with the stars is currently streaming in Australia at the moment which has forcefully brought back my Jyn and Cassian DWTS au where Jyn is a professional ballroom dancer on the show and Cassian is an actor who competes on the show and they obviously have amazing chemistry and dance really well together (and form a secret relationship which can’t be public because of their contracts with the show or something). I’ve been obsessing over this au for years now and needed to tell someone else about it. My sister thinks Cassian should be the dancer, but I think it works better for him to be the famous one

oooh, I used to love Dancing with the Stars as a kid! I agree tbh, I can see both of them as the dancer, but if anyone of them has to be a celebrity, I can imagine it more for Cassian than Jyn. and I just know there would be so much speculation and shipping happening on social media. there's no way the fans wouldn't pick up on the tension between them. and I think they should win or make it top two at least. although I think I like the idea of them pining more than actually being in a secret relationship. maybe they're holding back because it's not allowed during filming the show, and afterwards, he's just gonna leave and do other projects and long distance doesn't sound appealing, etc etc. and all the social media shipping just makes it even more awkward between them, and yeah, Jyn's been doing this show for a while so she's not a stranger to being in the public eye, but Cassian's level of fame is an entirely different beast, and she's not used to being so scrutinized and it makes her uncomfortable, so I can kinda see her maybe pulling away a bit. lots of potential for pining and angst with an eventual dramatic declaration of love <3

I saw you in the tags talking about Elle from criminal minds and it reminded me about how I went so insane for her that I literally had a shrine in my bedroom for her. I stopped watching after she left, I just couldn’t bear it :(

After her and Gideon left I really didn’t think they’d be able to turn it around, but they bring in people that make it an interesting dynamic. I’ve only seen 5ish seasons so far so I can’t speak for the whole thing though lol

it's from chapter 4 of Tension by SleepyKalena. I think it can be read on its own, but the entire story is great if you wanna give it a go! it's unfinished but honestly, if you don't mind the fact that the sexual tension isn't resolved, it works just fine as it is. basically, there's a lot of pining and lusting after each other. have fun <3

I was just reading your tags on that post about Breha Organa (how you wished Cassian had a parent like her) and it got me thinking, what if Cassian was taken in by Bail and Breha (totally implausible but who cares 🤷‍♀️) and was raised as Leila’s brother and as the prince of Alderaan

I think I've seen this idea talked about sometimes and seen some fics where Cassian is friends and close to the Organas but I don't think I've ever seen specifically one where he gets adopted by them and I love it. there's so much potential here like?? I think it'd be interesting to explore how this changes who he is. I'm imagining this specifically with the Festian background, I would definitely keep him losing his parents at age six, and maybe even being a child soldier for a while before the Organas adopt him, just so we have still have that traumatic past that defines who he is, but having loving parents and being raised as a prince would still make him a little different.

and I imagine he wouldn't work for Intelligence, because as a prince of Alderaan, firstly, he's expected to be a leader and not a field soldier, and secondly, he can't be a spy because his face is probably too well-known, but on the other hand... I think Cassian is a person who needs to be doing something to feel useful, especially if he had been a child soldier, so I feel like he'd rebel against this a bit and try to be more active and go out on missions... so it'd be interesting to explore what role he would take on in the rebellion in this case.

and I haven't even gotten into how this could be built into the RO plot and how he'd interact with Jyn! or his relationship with Leia. lots of interesting potentials here

Writers Truth & Dare Ask Game

My friend and I were playing dress to impress yesterday (were too old to be playing it but don’t judge us 💀) and the theme was “Supernatural”. I’ve never seen the show but just because of you it was the first thing I thought of so my friend and I dressed up as Dean and Cas (very poorly, but we got 2nd place somehow 😂 I guess the other people on the server were spn fans)

I was wondering how hot your country normally gets in summer if you don’t like 24°c. I’m from Queensland in Australia and I’d say we tend to bring the jumpers out when it gets down to 24°c. Our winters don’t normally go below 16°c in the day time so it’s funny to see how living in different climates makes people used to different things (it was 14° when I got in my car this morning and I was freezing).

well, it's getting hotter each year now because of global warming, but I'd say it normally stays somewhere between 28C and 36C during the summer. winters also used to be a lot colder, we used to have -20C sometimes, now I think the lowest was -8C. 14-16C is honestly my ideal weather, I like it a little bit chilly because I sweat easily and I actually hate nothing more. I think for most people 24C is still acceptable, my mom and sister definitely like that weather, but I just really hate warm weather with a passion

Speaking of couple’s Halloween costumes, one of my fave modern aus is Jyn and Cassian as Gomez and Morticia from the Addams family (especially if they didn’t mean to match and that was their meet cute)

I literally think about your writing all the time. I think my sister is sick of hearing me talk about BRR and AV. I just love your characterisation of Jyn and Cassian throughout all your writing honestly. I love how you make them so obsessed with each other (is there another way to write them though 🤷‍♀️ it’s just calling it how you see it).

making them obsessed with each other is the best part about writing them!! they're just so ride or die and co-dependent and I wouldn't have it any other way <3 also this is one of the sweetest thing anyone said to me, like my apologies to your poor sister but agfdghfdh, this makes me so giddy 😭 thank youuuuu 💜

cheating a little because this is my whole list but I think most of it is an accurate portrayal! I do write a lot of modern AUs, and if not, it's of course gonna be an everybody lives AU. Kinda surprised fluff has one more tag than angst though, but pre-relationship, mutual pining and getting together also checks out. and well... yeah, I like to write jealousy too. I'm only surprised exes to lovers didn't make it!

8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

hmmm I don't really have an answer to this. I don't really look at songs like "oh this would make a great story", more like "oh this reminds me of that one story." so I don't know really but thank you for the ask <3

fortunately no, I've seen enough excerpts and reviews to know that I wouldn't touch her books with a ten foot pole 😭
