Okay, I’ve been asked about these several times, so obviously that warrants a post about it, right?? After my first mission trip to Haiti in 2015, I was inspired to get my cross tattoo. Then @jerusharichardson and I decided to get soul sister cat tats from @sammiestattoostudio this past June. On that first trip to Haiti, we bonded first over our love of cats, second as she rubbed my back while I vomited on the plane. The "Love you always, me" tattoo is in Eddie's actual handwriting from a love letter he wrote me during our Weekend to Remember marriage conference. The letter was so sweet that I actually want to frame it. And lastly, the lightbulb is inspired by Matthew 5:14-16, but especially verse 16: "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." It is a reminder to myself to be a good person, and an icebreaker-ish way for me to talk more about Jesus to others. So this happened yesterday while we were putting the first panel on Keni's Kantina we had the first piece cut and as I went to screw it down the wind threw it back in my face and Ta-Da! Super lucky I didn't lose my eye or anything else. I definitely have something looking out for me. The second picture is from this morning. I cleaned it well and its mostly healed but it exists so I'm sure to be asked about it sooner or later. It was funny. We all laughed, I bled, it was metal and thus became awesome #ThisismyStory #AndImStickingtoit #StoneBurq #NowWithBattleDamage! #metal #ALittleBloodNeverHurtNoOne #StillGotTheJobDone anyways alls well! Just wanted to share that because It scared the hell out of me. Even being as safe as possible always have to be aware. Very grateful it was #JustAFleshWound but it could have been much worse. He came in fresh as hell to surprise me with an early release home because he could not believe how fast I recovered and turned around! It's been a long 4 days! I'm tired and drained but all I know is how to fight and be strong! And I am so lucky to have such a strong and loving support system of family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have experienced this fight with me! Who would have imagined that all of the pain that I have been enduring on an everyday basis from physical pain to partial paralysis to weakness and numbness, could finally be diagnosed! I came to ER with a lower back pain complaint and paralysis in my legs to find out I had a ruptured disc in my lower back and a ruptured disc in my neck that was pressing so deep into my spine that it was considered to be a threat against my life! I was fortunate enough to have an amazing team of doctors to go above and beyond to put an end to my pain! Day 1 post surgery and I am walking, talking, eating, and pain free! I have a long way to go and another surgery to go but I have a lot more fight in me! Thank you everyone for all your prayers and support!
