“Morning, Sissy,” Kai says, hip checking her on his way to the highchairs.

“Goodmorning, asshole,” Jo sighs, finally making it to the fridge.

“Language,” he gasps, prying Josie off to get her set up in the chair beside her sister. She fights him every step, trying to wiggle back into his arms. “Stop, you little menace! If you’ll let me shower I’ll be back for your post-breakfast nap.”

Josie seems to consider his offer, tilting her head before relaxing into her seat.

“Thank you,” Kai sighs, lifting one of her tiny hands to pepper kisses over her knuckles. She shrieks happily when she catches sight of his fangs, yanking her arm back. Bonnie can’t look away, her cheeks growing warm when he turns to go and catches her staring.

“Bathroom’s mine for thirty minutes,” he tells her, winking on his way out.
