i'm very picky with piano interpretations but i'm extra picky when it comes to la campanella by liszt
#i'm picky when it comes to liszt in general tbh#you may be able to play liszt but are you actually able to /play tm/ liszt?#it's impressive how an étude / piece /etc can sound so empty by someone's hands and then suddenly the very same étude / piece / etc just...#well transforms. that person got it. they capture that elusive complexity and emotion of the composer#and you may argue that such thing happens with every composer. and you're correct#but i assure you that with this guy the nuance is so insane that 95% of the people fail spectacularly.#and yes i know la campanella was originally by paganini bla bla bla. honestly the interpretations are so wildly different might#might as well be separate works#i think i should upload one of my favourite interpretations tonight if i can
