I also love Jon Bois's tweets but calling him “a nearly middle aged man who writes for a sports website” is like calling Toby Fox an awkward nerd who makes music for video games. Aside from his extensive catalog of excellent YouTube sports documentaries (which you WILL enjoy if you watch them — start with PRETTY GOOD if you doubt me, though I must stress that his other work on Dorktown, Chart Party, etc is also worth your time) he’s the guy behind 17776, which if you haven't read it, what the fuck are you doing here, go read it RIGHT NOW. The man is genuinely one of the best writers, period, working today, and it continually shocks me that most of tumblr read 17776, loved it, and took absolutely 0 steps to explore the rest of his extensive and equally good body of work just because it's also about sports.
it is continually inspiring to me that there is a nearly middle aged man who writes for a sports website who posts like us, truly the posters spirit can be found anywhere
