#lifted this from a friend's fb and may save it in case anyone wants to get salty with me for why I personally left my old church#(so far no one has and when it's come up the discussion has stuck with the more surface-level issues)#admittedly this was not the primary driver in why I wanted to leave but it was the final straw#and yeah I'm not a fan of divorce#but I mean that for people who get bored with being married and insist they've grown apart from their spouse and they deserve better#when that's also the reason they left their previous two to five other partners#I believe there are situations where some good honest counseling and humility and forgiveness are more appropriate#but I also know of and have seen situations where the only good answer is divorce#my only disagreement here is that domestic violence/abuse affects both men and women#and yeah I've seen both husbands and wives let down by their pastor when it comes to this#(and even children)
