the fact that 4/6 crows are primarily speaking their second or third language for the entirety of the book is an untapped gold mine
#everyone point at kaz and wylan and laugh at them in 'kerch native language' guys#like tbh realistically i see all of them being multilingual for various reasons#like. we all know kaz will learn suli eventually right GBHWTBHDFH and i dont doubt he knows some#phrases in stuff like shu and fjerdan like how he knows what demijin means#and wylan had his tutors ofc so he has SOME exposure and likely more grammar-based#but like. nina inej jes and matthias speak in a language that isnt their native for 90% of the book#which i think. is both hilarious for humor and also really really really fucking incredible on their parts#language. language dialects and language barriers is smth the show unfortunately tears away#which SUCKS bc its also such a good medium for learning abt said languages
