Swallowing my nerves at last to send you an ask! I was just wondering, what inspires your designs? Are their inspirations in stuff like movies or games? Or just things you come up with yourself?

i .. honestly its kinda hard to tell, sometimes i just randomly think of something, like some detail, or color combination and try to incorporate that into a design somehow; it can come from anywhere, like the color scheme of a pithaya/dragonfruit is something i have been wanting to make a design with for ages but havent come up with anything good in all those years ;O;

im a very easily fascinated by color, espeically in nature, like sometimes i just stop and stare at something like i froze in time bc i just woooooooooooooah color! i probably look like a weirdo doing that though

its really hard to pinpoint anything specifically, the most is probably .. other artists? i guess? which always makes me nervous bc my memory is shit in most areas of life and i worry myself to pieces whether i unintentionally "stole" an idea and just dont remember and think it was my own, it goes further that sometimes i see something that makes me want to draw a similar concept but dont bc i dont want to 'steal' even if that couldnt be further from my intention (have been accused of that before ..)

that said for my ocs specifically .. most are rather old and have just kinda evolved out of their awkward first iterations (shargons first iteration was a hauro-howl- copy that was really just some human covered in feathers .. another oc was once a hellboy copy but in green- havent drawn nor redeisgn them in ages lol), the biggest inspirations for them is a mix of animals, bonus if you dont see them often- im a big shark, whale and sea creatures in general nerd so i tend to take from them as a priority but always trying to be less directly animal and mostly just .. features that work together

Eadrya is one of the newer OCs- i started to write but then looked at my folders and oh they are from 2017 .., i even made a design timeline for them how much they, and my art, have changed back in 2020, so thats also way outdated now lol (they apparently started as a whale .. thing? its like a pokemon evolution lol)

for demons i try to be a bit more wild on shapes and colors while still adhering to the rules of how they work (humanoid form, demon form, animalistic, one element each and more or less made to fit that, 4 arms is very common, look to be bost scary and wild but also something that would make you stop in tracks and stare in awe and fear if you crossed paths)

often times designs just kinda .. happen, i have maybe the idea ok i wanna make something with a white and red pattern also moose or those big horned cows are cool and kinda scary so maybe sth akin to that (though this one is technically a redesign too- its also pretty much entirely different)

for non demons but still non human i go for a much more restrained design, mainly inspired directly by an animal and giving the color scheme a good spin, plus adding unconventional body shapes, like ki'ita is also a good example, her old idea was just orca anthro pirate and just by making the white green instead in her most recent redesign already adds that little spin to it

that can have its pitfalls though, as i often fall into the big arm small head small legs scheme over and over xD

alot of it is trial and error, deciding on the colors can take me hours bc im always searching for my little rule of having one contrast color that shows up in very few places to draw attention to it (like with Eadrya its those bright yellow eyes and thingy at their tail)

and that is all about myy own ocs, when its fandom stuff it works kinda similar though, either in the connections i wanna draw or just thinking it further- like how deities in destiny work also just kinda .. happened like an ever derailing train

like for demise i was at first really just im gonna give him horns bc horns are cool and he got those on the starting mural in the game- so how his hair work? well maybe it isnt hair actually and just unbound energy, im making him a deity too and fit hylias design to his so, yeah, then so how does it work, ok he gotta have a skeleton still, but what if his entire actual body is made up of pure magical energy with its core in the ribcage? with the core in the ribcage >:3c and the scales you see are just like cooled down lava as an armor bc his thing is fire and earth !! the normal blood? is a thin layer of skin imiated from mortals to keep the scales together and flexible so if he ACTUALLY gets hurt hed bleed magic that looks more like lava and any normal blood you see is just the armor- so why does he have a skeleton still instead of being just energy? maybe its gotta be bound to something OH and what if all of the deities started as mortals like a mirror to the trio later on and the gods cannot have direct influence to the worlds so they needed a right hand that is neither god nor mortal but both by killing a mortal by whatever their element will be (demise burned, hylia drowned etc) and their skeleton and spirit is kept but put into a body of magic- OH what if their spirit core is like almost piloting their bodies like a mech in a way bc if youd look close youd see that every strand of magic is actual a hand of their spirit so it makes it more weird and other bc hed be able to reach out with thousands of burning claws of all shapes and sizes like the beheaded forest god at the end of mononoke- SO if hed lose and arm or something all those strands would untangle and rearrange his bones back together-OH MY GOD the whole armor idea works so well for ghirahims dark armor so what if demise had two swords once and lost one and since has forged an armor similar to his own for ghirahim out fo fear of losing him t---

and that all is a process that happens over several weeks and months not rarely while i am drawing something mindlessly and suddendly *have a thought* and omg that makes so much sense-

so "what" inspires my designs? an ever derailing train of thought about making cool thick monsters that arent the evil thing to get rid of for once? cool color schemes? idk it just kinda happens??

I saw you reblog the post "send an OC and you tell me which of your OCs would fall in love with them" and had a moment of oh no, how many non-furry/dragon characters do I have. So I'm throwing you a variety!! We're gonna have to put aside the fact that two out of the three here are furry characters. I'm genuinely severely lacking in human people, despite how much I talk about them. (Is this a game show where only the winner out of all of them gets a date, or are they all getting paired off? Up to you!)

CONTESTANT NUMBER ONE

I gotta throw you a character I haven't mentioned before much. Silver Bullet Babe, or just Silver for short, spends a large majority of his time studying magic. Coming from a well off family who encouraged his focus on his studies and seclusion from others, his social skills are lacking at best. On the plus side, though, being with him comes with the added bonus of a very extensive library filled with otherwise forbidden knowledge. He's also very pink with lovely hair.

You already know this one. His info post isn't up yet, so his exact details might be blurry, but let me introduce you to the danger to aviation laws himself, Hazard! I don't. I don't have his picture on my laptop, so you're gonna just have to imagine a tall Canadian with the most mid fohawk ever who talks with an accent that is an affront to the concept of language itself. He's a great guy, I promise. Asides from how much danger he puts himself in for his own entertainment, he's a great guy.

*Shuffles through my characters* fuck okay who else is in here. hm. I feel I've gotta give you another one I haven't talked about before. I'm digging up Doe for this one.

Do you need a girl in your life that doesn't take shit from nobody anymore? Would it be even better if it were impossible to tell if she even liked you or not? Then let me present to you, Doe! I know for a fact she has an anthro design around somewhere, but evidently not here. I don't even have her regular design on this laptop, so we gotta just imagine an orange skywing woman together. What does she have to offer? She's fearless with the strength to back that up. She's punched both Sandwing and Skywing soldiers on two separate occasions. Her boss is, unfortunately for her, also her best friend, so they're a two for one deal, so you'll also be gaining a really weird uncle as well.

For Silver, I could see him getting together with Kestrel. They're also super inquisitive and work with magic frequently, so I could definitely see them bonding over that initially. And like... Kestrel's social skills aren't fantastic either, being a changeling who's been told effectively their whole life that the only thing they're good at is causing havoc and distress, so I think those early interactions might be a little awkward. But after that, y'know, it all would work out great!

I think Quinn would probably fall for Hazard in like.... a weird way. Like the "buddy you're just really fucking Odd. I kinda want to punch you in the face but I also kinda want to kiss you and we'll figure out the logistics of that later" kind of way. She's absolutely a daredevil too and would initially be drawn to that thrillseeking side of him, always trying to one-up him until it becomes a weird sort of game, and then that game becomes a weird sort of flirting... they'd be the weirdest, most hazardous (pun not intended) power couple on the planet, but that's my answer.

Doe definitely strikes me as Eris' type - someone who can fire right back to whatever little battles they want to throw at her, who isn't going to flinch, who's good and strong and driven to keep pace. You've heard of people getting along like a house on fire? These two would get along like nuclear fission. This might be The Most Dangerous relationship I have ever come up with, maybe not to the two of them but definitely to everyone else in the immediate vicinity.

Rules and Muse

So this is gonna be a bit slipshod since I have no idea what I am doing exactly, but fudge to it. All Art of the character is owned by me, and this is an OC I have created with the help of an old friend several years back now. First, onto Mun info and Rules!

Rules

- Safe word is 'Mobius Strip'. If I happen to say this, in, or out of character, it means STOP, right now. I'm not being coy, I'm not playing hard to get. If I use this Safe word, it means stop. I'm very rare to use my Safe word, and only tend to use it in the most dire of circumstance.

- OOC teasing and such is totally fine by me. I dont mind it at all, but please, do understand when I am trying to actually have a serious conversation with you. If you do not get it, I will use the Safe word.

- I am not limitless, but I do have loose limits. If the story calls for it, I'm cool with violence, gore, or other touchy subjects/gross kinks, but I just would prefer not to play them out in full most of the time. More details on my hard no's will be in my kinks list.

-Usually active at least once every Two-three days. If I dont respond in a weeks time, throw me a message and give me a poke.

-I prefer my partners to have a good grasp of the english language, and be willing to post at least in a Semi-paragraph format. The occasional smaller post is fine. I dont mind if you do only two lines when describing yourself entering a room. I don;t need Tolkien level writing. Occupation History: A nerd through most of school, and of slighter constitution, Legarch was drawn to reading and the like through, where he discovered a passion for history. Despite this passion, jobs in that sector, did not pay particularly well, so he worked in various tourism jobs, with museum work being more a passion. He finally settled at a stable job at a Hotel and, he loved talking and chattering with people at the job, but it really did not suit him well, and due to various things, his hours started to become less and less. Recently he has been stuck up at all sorts of weird hours, and wandering around the city, hearing that..there is certain ‘high paying work’ that someone looking like him could excel at.

Hey, kits! Back at it with another post, this time for the Art Fight event of 2022! This will be my first year joining Art Fight. I'm super excited! As you can probably tell from my team card, I'll be on Team Bloom this year. I went with Team Bloom because it felt like flowers fit the themes of my selected OCs more than mushrooms did, and if anyone plans on drawing themed art, I would rather have flowers and plants as opposed to mushrooms and stuff like that.

I'm going to draw a bunch of characters! Due to my current hyperfixation (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon), I'll probably only be drawing Pokémon, Fakemon, and Pokéfusion characters, since I'll have more motivation to draw OCs like those. There is a chance I may draw characters that aren't Pokémon, though! I could also draw any standard anthro (furry) character, although I'd prefer plantigrade characters over digitigrade characters, and it depends on the species (hooves and scales are kind of a no-go for me). I might draw feral characters, but those are a bit harder for me, so it's less likely that I'll draw those. Unfortunately, I can't draw humans/humanoids, mechs/mechas, worms, or ponies, so if you only have those types of characters, you're out of luck... Sorry. TwT As a matter of personal comfort, I won't be drawing any sexual or graphically violent content. I also won't draw eating/drinking, meme or joke art, illness or bathroom-related themes, bugs/insects/arachnids, self-harm or suicidal themes, needles/syringes/injections, or hyperrealism. On the other hand, I will draw things with eyestrain/epilepsy/flashing lights, parasites, features in unusual places, distortion, drugs/alcohol, profanity, weapons/cartoon violence, themes of abuse, lots of eyes, and clusters of holes. Occasionally, I'll get in a "mood" where I want to draw something on the more graphic side (it'll never go beyond lots of cuts and maaaybe a few bones, though), so there is a very small chance that I could draw that if someone allows it. It's very unlikely, though.

I may do friendly fire, although I'm a bit tentative on that. If I do friendly fire, it'll probably be with a friend or a friendly acquaintance (or followers, following/followed users, or somebody that I would really like art from). I'm definitely up for revenge! I'll try to revenge as many people as possible. Revenge chains are also accepted, but I won't be starting them, I'll only revenge on each attack I receive. Users on the same team that I'm on (Team Bloom) won't get more than one revenge, sorry. qwp Mass-attacks are fine! I'd be perfectly happy with my characters being drawn alongside other people's characters.

The character in my avatar spot is Indie Foxx, my main sona. Her character page is hidden, so she can't receive any attacks, but I think I'll talk a little bit about her, anyway. She's a small, young mixed breed fox who was created from an object called a Coresoul, which is an ice-cold, glowing orb created once every several years by fusing fragments of the souls of multiple other beings. She lives in a place called Aphorae, an individual continent in the world of Qinisi surrounded by a magical barrier that will either repel or transform anyone who tries to cross the barrier that does not have magic, is not anthro (furry), and/or is not on the island's "species whitelist". She's childish, and definitely acts younger than she actually is; she also doesn't understand many social concepts and standards, like why people must work for money, or the purpose of an educational degree. Some emotions like love, envy, and pride puzzle her, since she's still grasping emotions and what they are. Indie is the only character here that is not a Pokémon and has no relation to Pokémon or anything similar to it.

I only have three characters that are available for this event, but many other characters are hidden, mostly because I couldn't get their pages done in time. It usually takes me 20-45 hours on average to finish a single reference sheet, and then I would have to draw an avatar (profile picture, icon, whatever you'd like to call it) for each one, finish their descriptions, and possibly draw other art for them as examples, which would take way too long for me to handle. I originally planned to have Colors the Shiny Zeraora and Puzzle the MissingMew (Mew + MissingNo.) among my featured characters, but unfortunately, that didn't work out, and I still struggled to meet the deadline for the three featured characters I have now. Also, a quick side note: All of these characters are Pokémon Mystery Dungeon OCs, so it'd be best to avoid having them interact with humans or humanoids.

Nyx (she/they) is a timid Marshadow (ghost/fairy-type) who's quiet and anxious, and she's entirely incapable of fighting. She's spent a lot of time researching certain topics and reading old documents, books, and newspapers, so she's very knowledgeable on several topics, especially ones revolving around history. It's rare to see her in a crowd or interacting with strangers, since she's really not the social type, but she will probably have her head tilted down and avoiding eye contact in public spaces. Despite her introverted behavior and anxieties, she cares very deeply about those she is close to, and is often a bit clingy towards her friends, as well. Nyx is one of my sonas and main OCs; She's my Pokésona, and I'll use her to represent myself in things related to Pokémon.

Livewyre (he/they) is a serious partial-shiny Zeraora (electric-type) who outwardly appears apathetic, but in reality, he is very empathetic and protective of those around him. He was cloned from a Zeraora named Mute, but an error in the cloning process caused it to result in two clones with several failing traits. Livewyre's cloned "brother", Acid, was hunted down and killed, along with Mute, and Livewyre himself was captured and kept in a mostly empty, locked room for most of his life to be experimented on. These experiments eventually resulted in him looking almost completely different from how he had originally looked as a child. He had befriended another Zeraora, named Retro, and a Golbat-Zeraora fusion, named Vin, and with their help, the three of them managed to overtake the scientists running the lab they were in, and now he cares for the other living experiments that were trapped there and forced to endure cruel testing as he was.

Mallow (she/her) is a very fluffy jolly Flareon (fire-type) who lost her parents before she had even hatched. Her egg was given to her aunt, who always wanted her to evolve into a Leafeon, but her aunt was mysteriously assassinated while Mallow was only three years old, and she had to move into an orphanage. Nobody ever came to adopt her, but she grew very close to her fellow orphans and those who she considered her guardians. One night, she evolved into a Flareon when a fire stone fell onto her during a time when the orphanage caught fire and she dashed into the flames to save two of her friends, a Glameow and a Chikorita. Now she's a bit too old to really be adopted, but she helps take care of the other orphans, and she dreams of opening her own cafe someday, a place where she can make everyone happy.

I'm looking forward to attacking some awesome characters! A collage of some of the leading ladies in a few of my stories I’ve drawn throughout the years. From left to right, earliest to newest:

- Ladio, a husky/shepherd mix, who is apprenticing under her adopted mother to be a field medic and eventually accrues an internship at a neighboring country’s military base. She is friends with Shadow Fox. She is one of the few husky anthros that lives in her community, and a rarity as one who is also of mixed heritage. Although she is still a teenager and she is still figuring out what she wants out of life, she enjoys her studies and hopes that one day it will lead her to finding out who her birth parents were and if the fabled Deep Six City, a community comprised solely of huskies, actually exists.

(Notes: Notably the first anthro I’ve made. She’s kind of flip-flopped between being influenced from Star Fox Adventures, Sonic, and - even I’m shocked when I look back on it - Dragon Ball Z (to be fair, it was one of my first anime, back in the day. But since Ladio’s universe is a hot pot of anthros, reptilians, humans, robots and cyborgs, fairies, and aliens and all manner of creatures, I shouldn’t be so surprised.)

- Jinkei Haotome, a high school student who can wield phoenix fire in an urban fantasy world that leans hard into the concept of Guardians of the Four Directions from Asian mythology. Her favorite subject is mathematical topology. Is not Japanese; it’s just a cool name I came up with in middle school, so it’s stuck with her ever since. 

(Notes: She’s pretty much a more hot-blooded, foul-mouthed Kusanagi Kyo from King of Fighters but she takes her academic studies more seriously...somewhat. AFAIK I never made a K’ or Iori expy to compliment her; a shame, really. She did start out as a KoF/SNK OC mentoring under the Sakazaki Team, though.)

- Rita Lusaloff, a girl trained in the swordsmanship and born with a left-handed astrolabe, a rare birthright that is only found in left-handed people that are able to use all magical elements. When she was nine her parents gave her up to be fostered by an elf to be cared for and trained in astral arts due to prejudice to those that bear the mark of the astrolabe.

(Notes: She has some heavy Tales of series influence, mainly Abyss...but between her and Luke, she’s much more grounded and is her age (19). There is also some Code Geass inspiration, but I don’t see Rita as someone who would ever be as morally grey as Lelouch is. If I had to describe what Rita’s personality is most like among the Tales of protagonists, I would say Lloyd - but with more education, but both share the same level of idealism.)

- Maaya Lawson (biologically born Maaya Endomere), the leading military commander, or Lord-General, in the country she trained and served - but not of her own will; prior to this, she was a law enforcement officer. She is the youngest person to hold the title, with the misfortune - or, as some would say, good fortune - of being the first human lycan to sit in office; because of ongoing hostilities between humans and non-humans, she is regarded with hostility by most of the public and as a result has only very few friends. She loves wolfdogs and has a pack that is bred for psychic attunement, all of whom serve as emotional support and jogging partners. The white-blue portion of her hair and sharp blue eyes indicates her lycanthropic nature.

(Notes: She surprisingly has origins rooted in Shakespearean tragedy, of all things, but I wanted to try my own take on the tried-and-true anime harems but with an absolutely gay as fuck, romantic as fuck, and eventually down to fuck protagonist who’s buff as fuck and surrounded by hot as fuck women, so I ditched the Shakespeare concept because yuri is better.)

-  Airi Lacard (transliterated surname), a young woman who lives alongside wind elementals in her region who take on the form of bald eagles. She has an interest in demonology, cultural history, and theatrical arts. Her destiny is somehow tied to that of the Demon King, Lord Tel Ossei Al-Sharaad, even though he is regarded as a being that is not real and only exists in fiction. As a member born into the animistic culture of the Houses of the Wylde, everyone is given both a true name and a use-name. However, ‘Airi’ is usually reserved as a true-name, and only for those women in positions of power. Airi was born with this name and she would later accept it as her use-name, so technically it is both her true-name and use-name; however, it is said she has a true-name she gave herself, but no one knows what it is, much to the chagrin of her elders, clanmates, and even siblings. For all her love and fondness of birds, she has a wary distrust of great horned owls, the bald eagle’s greatest rival.

(Notes: Airi’s origins have an interesting development. She started out as an Eleanor Hume expy for a Tales of Berseria/Zestiria fanfic that never took off, described as someone who was a ‘hero who would eventually be forgotten by history and known only in folklore’. Then she became her own person but her story was going to be my attempt at a children’s tale...until I made the stunning realization that I needed Airi to suffer immensely, preferably with existential angst, in order to grow, so that idea got quickly nixed. Then the previous iteration ended up making her either die and have paradise eternal throughout all realities, become forgotten by time again or a much happier Highlander expy who would evoke the Ascended To A Higher Plane of Existence, and I hated all of those for depressing me even if the four of the six endings I wrote for her were mostly bittersweet. Thus began my journey to give Airi a much better, fulfilling outcome, which began with watching bald eagle cams back in 2019, which is where I got the idea of attributing them to her. At the same time, I was obsessively putting the entirety of Kikuchi Momoko’s discography on repeat as I dabbled with the worldbuilding in notebooks, so Airi has quite a distinct mid-1980′s to early 1990′s feel that emulates the women of that time period: elegant and mature and kind with a hint of mischievous mirth lurking underneath. Magic Knight Rayearth should also be thanked for inspiration regarding the development of Airi’s family, which is where the idea of her having three older brothers comes from. Hikaru herself also helped flesh Airi out, but whereas Hikaru is very energetic Airi is ten years older and is more composed - at least until there are bald eagles in the picture. Sadly the mecha portions of MKR didn’t carry over to Airi’s story, although I do wish to find a way to include them in some capacity even if the story itself is not mecha. Although the angst stays; you must understand that I can’t just make things a cakewalk for my girls. That’s too easy!)

1. Your first OC ever?From the OCs on my ask page, that’d be Morana. I created her for my first DnD campaign, when I needed an npc to beef up the party. She’s grown a lot since then, especially since I started playing her as a PC, but yea she’s fun.

My first OC ever is more difficult. I think the technical first would be a fan oc I made for an rp, Arya. Wait no that’s wrong she’s the second. The forums were taken down so I can’t check, but I’m pretty sure the first rp I joined there was a dinosaur rp, where I played like a velociraptor also called Arya (I was very creative). I might’ve written some stuff before that but I don’t remember, so I’ll count this.

5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be? oh jeez. don’t make me choose between my children

7. Are your OCs part of any story or stories?Well, do DnD campaigns count as stories? I’ve also written oneshots for various characters, and I’ve got a giant college au with @spitaverse-burr and @kima-ladyofvord�� that features all our character which could count as a story.

So yeah basically all of them.

13. Do you have any troublemaker OCs? Keiji, 100%. Whisper as well, if it’s something "cool” or if she was dared to. Though, Whisper is still pretty nervous about actually breaking the law, so it depends a bit on what it is.

Raya is not an active troublemaker so much as she has a casual disregard for these odd rules of civilization. She lives in forests like 99% of the time give her a break.

21. Your most artistic OCNone of them really have a defined artist thing in their canon, but Keiji likes carving little wood birds to keep his hands busy during long watches and the like. Tanwen loves reading sappy romance novels, and in the college au she’s definitely written some terrible friendfiction (it’s like her one big secret, apart from the sister thing). 

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?this is difficult damn. I think maybe Keiji? The first concept I had for him was “a monk who’s had to leave their order, and is v bitter and angry about it”. His backstory hasn’t changed, but his way of dealing with it has. I ended up dumping a bunch of my issues on him, and now he’s far more betrayed than angry, and he hides it all behind humour and snark. 

Beside him, Morana has also changed. I introduced her as a quiet, pragmatic npc character. Since I started playing her she’s gotten a lot more emotional and she’s found a temper (and a tragic backstory)

25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?)As mentioned above, Keiji has a lot of my issues, mainly the selfdestructive habits and never talking about your feelings or being honest about them ever. 

Raya has my love for nature and natural magics. Morana has my curiousity, the love for knowledge and the need to know (even if it comes at the cost of summoning a devil). Whisper has my protectiveness, and subsequent troubles with communicating it. 

Honestly, they all have parts of me, cause well that’s just what happens when you create characters. and i love them all they’re good

29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?Keiji. Whisper would only do it on a dare so there’d be other people involved. Morana definitely would, because she’s dumb and reckless and in search of cryptids. 

31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really)ohohohoho. I recently found the conversation where Lux, Tori, and I talked about this for the college au.

Morana has a blog devoted to cryptids, but she also reblogs all history posts she can find. (she corrects them and adds sources if necessary). Surina isn’t technically in this au, but I could see her running like a fitness blog. Raya has a gardening blog, with tips and logs about her own plants. Val would have a lot of selfies w Lytte (and more pictures of just her), a lot of backstage pics from theatre, actual journal posts on recommendation of their therapist, and a truly worrying amount of posts about how to hide various weapons on your person.

Tanwen would run one of those cutesy study blogs, with prettily coloured to do lists, pictures of an organised workspace, and lots of self care tips for exam week. Keiji has various sideblogs. He has a fitness blog which is also about his martial arts studies, a shitpost meme blog (his main), an edgy aesthetic blog (bruised knuckles, people smoking on top of buildings, that kinda thing), and probably more.

Whisper would run like a proper blog blog, with logs from her many scouting trips and like mountain climbing adventures. Also a lot of pictures from those. Temperance isn’t really interested in going through the hassle (cause y’know blind), and Mokir is a cat. There is a tumblr and a linked twitter account dedicated to every sighting, and pictures and applause whenever he’s attacked someone.

33. Your shyest OC?Either Tanwen or Whisper probably, though neither of them are that bad. Tanwen can speak up and is stubborn enough to defend her opinion when it counts (which is often), and Whisper overcompensates with bluster and rambling.

35. Any sibling characters? Nope. I mean, some of them have siblings, but i don’t have two characters who are siblings

37. Introduce an OC who is not quite human Morana and Temperance are tiefling. They’re a race which used to be human, until they were corrupted by demons, and now they look various levels of demonic. Surina is a dragonborn, so definitely not human. Val is a half-elf, though they’ve passed as both elven and human. Raya is a woodelf. Mokir is a rakashan, so basically an anthro cat. He’s based off like norwegian forest cats, so he’s an already burly and tall man who’s then like 50% fur it’s hilarious. 

39. Introduce any character you want Well in that case let me introduce the characters from The Roles We Play, since they’re not on my blog. Astra is a highelf wizard and she’s adorable. She’s quite shy, but she loves talking about the stars and magic, and someone else always needs to be on watch with her because she will without fail be distracted by watching the stars.

Nira is a human paladin of the Raven Queen. Her family didn’t quite agree with her choice to go study, but she found a second family with the order. She loves adventure, and she’s always the one most eager to explore ancient ruins and dangerous-looking caves.

Rémi is a half-elf bard. He’s the mom friend of the team, armed with exasperation and fond amusement, always ready to talk his friends out of jail. He also carries at least four instruments on his person at any given time.

Vengeance is a tiefling ranger with an owl companion called Hope. They go by Ven, most of the time, and they tend to be a voice of reason. They favour dry humour and snark, and they often spend long watches carving wooden figurines.

43. Do you have any certain type when you create your OCs? Do you tend to favour some certain traits or looks? It’s time to confessWell, one thing I noticed recently-ish is that almost none of my characters tend to be honest with their feelings. Keiji’s the most obvious, but Tanwen, Morana, Surina,  Whisper, Val, Temperance, they all have an element of acting, of being various levels of two-faced, of pretending you’re fine always. They all do it in different ways, but yeah.

Another thing is that I tend to make low charisma characters? like so many of them have cha as their dump stat. I also find it difficult to play low-int characters, so they all tend to have a higher intelligence.

45. A character you no longer use?Not from the characters on my oc page, but there are a shitton of characters from my rp days who I’ve abandoned.

47. Has anyone ever (friendly) claimed any of your OCs as their child?..probably. Can’t recall any specific examples rn, but I think Val’s been adopted more than once, same with Whisper. Val and Lux’ Chal also have a fun au where Chal adopts Val and runs away with her, and they become a family and travel together and it’s all fun and good until Temperance’s assassins manage to chase them down.

I have to be very deliberate in my depiction of Solomon King. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why? I would meet the Stregga Sisters so I could ask what their deal is. I need to develop them. 25. I was confronted with how 7 out of 7 of my most significant American figures were all male so I gender-swapped Maxwell Force into Maxine. S/he's more interesting now. Any OCs that were inspired by a certain song? Actually, the first plot scenario and its main perpetrators came to me in a dream, complete with a rap song. She’s Britain’s most popular hero, goalkeeper themed, and seven and a half feet tall. Feel free to share In my early 20s I used to hang out at night with friends of mine in the local all night diner, drinking unlimited coffee, playing games, eating the breakfast buffet, etc. We were all either just out of college or just out of high school and we were all commiserating our bleak futures. I'm Dizzy! You can call me Diz, though. I'm 21 and my class schedule is clear all the way through September minus (minus one), so I'm back in the roleplay business after a three year hiatus! I write in 3rd person, multiple paragraphs and/or novella. I've never doubled before, but it's something I'd be interested in. I can respond a few times a week, sometimes daily if I'm on a roll.     This is something both new and familiar to me. When I was like, 10, I was in this Pokemon Gijinka RP group on a site similar to DeviantArt and I was like. Obsessed, lol. So Gijinkas are familiar to me in that sense, but also new since I haven’t roleplayed any in years!

  I do kind of have a setting to this. Nothing fancy, though, just a vague world idea? Fantasy-inspired, with guilds and quests and kingdoms and stuff… You know, with Pokemon moves being something akin to magic and something mostly everyone has; Legendary Pokemon Gijinkas are essentially Gods. Like I said, fantasy! I know it’s not much, but I’m really itching to do something with this! Could be something either lighthearted and cheery or something serious and dark, or both. I'm looking for anything and everything!

  Note: NO pokephilia, NO anthro; they’re basically humans based on Pokemon, but some more Pokemon-like attributes like ears/tails/wings/fangs/claws are fine.

I expect you to be 18+ MINIMUM! 20+ ideally, especially now that I’m in my 20’s! I’m really not into ghosting, so please don’t contact me if you’re the type who loses interest after the first couple messages or right before we actually roleplay. I mean, there’s always types like that and I’ve been guilty of it in the past, so y'know, can’t avoid them all. I'd also like this to be a long-term roleplay.

  Tell me about yourself in your intro message!! Don’t just go “hi I want to rp with you”, let me know what you’re all about, like how you roleplay and how often you can write, your limits, what in particular you want to do, etc. I don’t need a writing sample, it’s just common courtesy to let a potential partner know what you’re all about! ^-^ I don’t bite, I promise.

  Another thing to add is that I’m an artist! I often draw my characters and would be happy to draw yours as well if we roleplay. As such, I don’t do face claims, and like, I know Pokemon/PKMN Gijinkas are obviously in the realm of anime/anime-style games, I definitely am not a fan of anime faceclaims. And to add, you don’t have to draw your characters or anything, just written descriptions are fine.

To give you an idea of what I'm going for, I've drawn a couple Gijinkas I have. These are a few who have been on my mind but I can swear I've got tooooons more, I just got into the Gijinka mood and wanted to design a few for reference. I hope this insert works! If it doesn't, here's a link.

1. When did you get into art?

i’m basically a kid who never stopped drawing; i was interested in art from a very young age! on my birthday i always wanted to go to the art museum, and when my elementary school had an art festival i would coerce my parents into taking me lol :’D

i started drawing in a “serious” way at around… 10 years old? perhaps a little earlier… that’s when i started to share my art with others online! i also went around asking for tips and critique, studying anatomy, practicing my observation skills, exploring new mediums… basically, i started looking to improve, rather than just drawing to not be bored like you do as a child? that’s how i define me “getting into art,” anyway!

6. What levels of artistic education have you had?

i have taken high school art classes and drawing college courses - i’m currently majoring in graphic design, so my journey ends not here…!!

9. What is your least favourite piece that you have done?

i’m going to limit myself to 3 years old at the most (so, 2015-2018 art) and finished pieces only, because hating your old art and digging scrapped doodles out of the trash are both way too easy 

……..with that in mind, this one sucks 

10. What do you like most about your art?

one of my drawing professors said my art has a very personal feel to it, that i capture the physical feel of the human body in the character of my linework, and honestly that’s glowing praise that i can only hope to claim but i do agree my ability to capture people emotionally is pretty strong! i think there’s something deep inside me that just knows the small ways that people seem to behave and it leads people to be able to tell a lot about my subjects just by looking at them

11. What do you like least about your art?

stylistically, it borrows from a lot of style traditions, so i get people who call it “cartoon” and people who call it “anime” in equal numbers annnd i never know what to tell them because i don’t think it fits neatly into either??? :’D 

i also picked up on a lot of ~~~tumblr sjw~~~ art trends by accident and i constantly worry that people think i like steven universe because i like animal crossing noses and draw fat people sometimes

12. Have you ever considered taking commissions?

yes! i want to open them this year…

13. Are you looking to pursue a career in art?

Perhaps… i am studying graphic design obviously but who knows if i’ll actually get a job in that or if i’ll be happy baking bread the rest of my life

14. What do you like drawing the most?

my OCs obviously of course, mostly human creatures, long curly hair, loose fitting clothes, birds, wings/feathers, faces, legs

animals that are not birds, anthro animals, straight hair, furniture, lace

16. Do you draw more fanart or original art? If fanart, what fandom do you draw the most of?

i draw mostly original art! i don’t know what fandom i’ve drawn the most for even is, honestly… it’s probably between kirby and pokemon?

18. What is your purpose for drawing?

drawing is fun and i like it

i want to tell good stories, i want to make people happy, i want to make people laugh, i want people to have hope for themselves and believe that things will get better for them, and by making art, i strive to improve others’ lives in the same way that art improves my life!

19. What medium/program do you use the most in your art?

digitally, i use a wacom bamboo tablet from 2012, gimp 2.8, and win7 mspaint 

traditionally, i use mechanical pencil and acrylic paint the most! but i have dabbled in stuff like crayons, colored pencils, soft pastels, and polymer clay

interesting fact: a majority of my traditional paintings are done with my left hand and my fingers!

20. How would you rank your art? (poor, mediocre, good, etc.)

my art is Good

23. What do you think you could stand to improve on?

a lot of my techniques could be optimized; as of right now it takes me a really long time to complete anything

In hindsight...

I honestly have no idea why this character exists aside to be a joke. And not even a good joke either. I mean, there’s only so much you can do with a character who’s entire personality is supposed to be “crazy” or really erratic would be a better word to use for Tony. The only thing that can really be classed as crazy with his personality is Wrencher his wrench “companion”. And that’s it.

I mean, I never really had something that was really set for Tony, but I guess there were a few staples. He was always the weird one, somewhat maladjusted, and if he tended to overexaggerate things, he went way, way over the top. He was zany and wacky, a bit like a mix of all the looney toons at once in some aspects. And yet, when it came to certain situations, just like with all my characters he could get a bit more serious. But he was never down to Earth one hundred percent serious. I mean, there’s a reason that despite the fact he was one of my main roleplay OCs he never got used in the horror or apocalypse topics. It just wouldn’t work.

The entire point of him was a joke that was never funny.

Human gets turned into an anthro and doesn’t take it well...

Now you can laugh... but it’s not funny. It’s cliché and stupid. I mean eventually I dropped the aspect that it was the change that made him zany and the way he was, but eh... It’s not much better. I mean obviously now he’s been an outcast for his entire life, and different but well... the strange thing is, despite the fact that my defining rule with Tony is he has to be over the top exaggerated and oddball I don’t consider him a bad character. He’s a relic of a time when I was trying too hard, he’s a relic character from a time when I wanted fun and zany characters, he’s a relic of a plot that never worked in the first place. But... He is what he is and I have not changed his core since I first made him. He’s always been the oddball, off the wall way he is. And when he does calm down and become more serious it works. Because he’s really one of my more human characters... and has been right from the start...

The interesting thing, is that it took me introducing Mana into my roleplay for me to really begin to see the other aspects of Tony. Because again, before that he was seriously one note. A character I would drop into a situation simply to have him do something that was out of the norm, and to upset the balance. And then I finally finished designing Mana and his profile and started to roleplay with my abused little baby(who I’ll be talking about more later). And something happened.

Suddenly, Tony toned down. And Mana wasn’t the only one who toned him down after getting added. There was also, Tai, who came later again. And Tony, while he didn’t try to be a role model, showed more of his other side. How he could be responsible and trusted, and a big brother figure to the two small children who were there. The one’s who actually acted like children anyway... despite Mana’s unique circumstances, and even Tai’s own unusual background. There was a bit more of solidarity with Tony. He was still Tony, and off the wall a bit. But when it came down to the wire he was settled.

And mindful of things that other characters wouldn’t have expected of him. And that was amazing, because I had literally made him, been using him for nothing more than unfunny jokes and an excuse to create more problems for them to solve in the roleplay.

Because a character who had no baseline of normal, and no concept of what was generally appropriate was able to cause quite a few problems. But he was not able to really help to solve them, except in a few cases. Which was fun, because his oddball style did help in those few small occasions where the villain wasn’t able to deal with him either... even if ultimately he was only being a distraction in those cases.

Now then... that all said, I suppose I should talk about the picture... while it’s not very clear, this like the whole two sides/two halves thing again... One half in the past, and one is now... and yeah Human-Lynx. In the past he was a human, fairly normal... if oddball and out of place... and now he’s an anthropomorphic lynx. Which yeah... Also redesign sort of... haha. Considering I’ve never drawn his human form ever. And now you get to see a small idea of it. Also reminder, he has heterochromia so the eyes would be the same in both forms. No change... but hey.

I’m done talking about him now.

I’ll just, be sitting here musing about how much I’m glad that I never scrapped him... which nearly happened. Several times...
