Weird Headcanons

WHAT THEY SMELL LIKE. Perfume wise, its usually a mix of lavender and vanilla, a concoction generally accessible to the more ‘wealthy’ inhabitants of Palamecia ( the process of making perfume in general there is hard, given that most of the world is xenophobic towards them ). Without it, Mateus just smells like sand and gravel, sweat as well given that he is quite the outdoors person.

HOW THEY SLEEP ( sleeping position, schedule, etc ). Sporadic. While Mateus has had a schedule regarding bedtime set up ever since he was sixteen, his body sure doesn’t follow it despite best efforts. He usually takes laying on his side, as laying on his back tends to bring about more pain than it should ( and if it gets too much, Mateus will smoke / take something that not only numbs the pain, but eases him into slumber much quicker ).

He lasts anywhere from two to six hours of sleep, eight on very rare good days.

WHAT MUSIC THEY ENJOY.   He’s not quite the music buff, but anything with flutes tends to attract Mateus like a fly.

HOW MUCH TIME THEY SPEND EVERY MORNING GETTING READY. It takes around one to two hours, and he spends half of that disassociating while attempting to do his makeup in the mirror while the other half is spent on grooming his hair and braiding all of those beads into place ( hardly by himself, of course, he has trusted hands to help with that ).

FAVORITE THING TO COLLECT. He has a box dedicated to any and all screws, gears, and other small metallic parts found in things like clocks along with a variety of tools. It’s Mateus’ little hobby box, he wants to create his own little mechanical-powered things eventually.

LEFT OR RIGHT HANDED:  Dominant in his right hand ( or is it his left? Human perspective is weird ).

FAVORITE SPORT(S).  Sand surfing!

FAVORITE TOURISTY THING TO DO WHEN TRAVELING. Mateus would rather keep to himself than act like the average tourist, he’s more-so a people watcher and will ask questions if he feels it’s needed.

FAVORITE KIND OF WEATHER.  His body is built for living within Palamecia’s harsh climate, so Mateus favors the heat over all else, however he also tends to love rain as well ( although his opinion of it doesn’t quite stay the same when his country is suddenly hit with monsoons.... ).

WEIRD/OBSCURE FEAR THEY HAVE.  Hard to say as a majority of his fears are quite common ones, but I guess one that could count as obscure is the idea of people seeing Mateus while he suffers the excruciating process of skin shed ( think dandruff ). Due to the oils in his skin that prevent sunburn or tanning, it frequently regenerates, therefore making the skin look pink and agitated ---- and given that all full-blood Pamaecians are pale, it sticks out on Mateus like a sore thumb. He isn’t too keen on the idea of having to explain it to anyone if they saw it, hence why he hides away until it clears.

THE CARNIVAL/ARCADE GAME THEY ALWAYS WIN WITHOUT FAIL. If the game is challenging enough to get his brain cranking and allow him time to study how it works, Mateus would likely win them without fail. He’s very observant, cheating while playing a game with him is a very bad idea.
