so here’s the thing here’s the thing okay… before I go i just realized…

bards lament doesn’t work without scanlan’s promise to kaylie to stay alive. so he goes off to find her in nicodranas away from the rest of the group. they finally have a decent heart to heart. but scanlan’s like gotta get back to his friends bc they’re saving the world and stuff. that’s where he makes the promise to kaylie about not dying. promises are very important.

so he shows up back in whitestone after the ripley confrontation thinking this is a weight off his shoulders but percy died and the group dynamics are in shambles, the vibes are RANCID, bc scanlan wasn’t there this time (and we’ll probably get some accusations of selfishness bc he went off to do something for himself ultimately) and now that all weighs even more heavily when we get through the inevitable thordak fight and scanlan nearly dies there, and he definitely doesn’t want to run off and immediately fight raishan afterwards and wham bam thank you ma’am he dies in that fight and the bard’s lament of it all goes down and we end a season on him leaving
