I went so long not shipping anything bc of my discomfort towards romantic/sexual relationships in media (and irl lmao) that now one of my friends is like /well if Fever ships it, it must be good/

And I’m out here, with all my cringefail losers who I may or may not ship but talk about incessantly regardless, like ahaha,,,yeah,,,it must be,,must be a good ship aha,,,

The thing is, I can have ships that are just a mid as anyone else’s because I’m no longer deeply offput by the idea of reading/watching romantic relationships. I don’t want one for me, but it can be cute and fun in media. And that makes engaging in fan culture a lot easier for me. I also got a lot better at filtering things that, as it turns out, are icks of mine.

Also, for me “shipping” characters often just means that I get that ship, but tbh the relationships I envision are more similar to a qpr than a traditionally romantic relationship.
