i like how with the sticker update the door became a sort of little gallery for them.
#txt#rgrtv#regretevator#<- FINE#on day one of the update (i mean when it dropped bleh) i gravitated towards putting stickers on the door bc its a visible part of the +#elevator. idk. its like a different colored part an dshit#poeple might not look at some random wall more than the damn elevator doors#and usually when i start putting down stickers poeple put down some too#so you have this lil gallery goin on

Rackett - Undated, exam season of Y2S1
Gig 1: Unimelb Tuesday's BBB I've listened to some of their songs on spotify before that day and they were good. On the day I chose to sit up on the balcony of North court so I could maybe read my book while listening to some headbanging tunes. After one or two of their songs, I realized there almost wasn't anyone on the court, those who've lined up and gotten the sausage just scurried along. So I felt absoultely terrible that they're not getting the number of audience they deserved. So I joined the handful of people who stood quite a distance from teh stage itself (by the camera and sound panel) Later a few more people joined us, this one guy was super hyped up and got his mates to dance along too. A couple of girls decided to step forward and danced. Could be better but they make do. By the end of the show they were giving out free stickers and pamphlet to their EP release show at YahYah's on the next friday. I guess its the freebies thats attracting the people but everyone, even those that I didn't realize were watching the show went up to get it. Hope they're using it.
Anyway I wanted to support the band by buying a tee because damn they were great, really got me pumping and whispering "this is great!" throughout several of their songs. Had to run back to the ATM to get some cash for the $30 tee. Got two $20 bills. Went to Ally, congratulated her for the amazing show and asked for the pink tee. She then confessed she didn't have a $10 change and no one else in the band did either So I told her "You know what, just keep the change, you guys deserved it." Ally refused at first and asked if I was going to attend their EP debut show where she can then give me my change but I told her i can't cause I've got another gig to go to (PMJ). So she made a compromise to mail me the $10 EP as soon as it was released. She had me note down my address on her phone too, included my name. Thanked me by my first name before i left.
Gig 2: Yah yah's Debut EP show I wasn't planning on making it to this one in the first place since I've already gotten a PMJ ticket before their gig at UniMelb but I found out that the gig was actually late at night, about, 9.30. After a long contemplation, I've decided to leave PMJ early (by 30min). Grabbed an Uber from carlton to St. Kilda (PMJ) then another one all teh way up north again to Fitzroy (YahYah's). I ended up reaching Yahyah's slightly late. They've played one or two songs I think. By that night I've been jamming to their EP non-stop, including a cover they did of 'Woman'. It was amazing, I was skeptical of how packed the venue was going to be and I really didn't want to be stuck in a crowd with no exit but they ended up using a small stage upstairs of the main yahyah dancefloor. It was chill, and roomy but you can still feel the audience presence. Anyway gig's up, while packing up Ally greeted me and told me she'll have a chat in a bit. She asked Bec if "that" CD actually got shipped, to which she confirmed that its "on its way" The later and embarassing part was I went up to Astrid who I mistaken to be Ally and asked to buy her a dirnk. She declined politely becaus she already has a drink-card for playing at the venue. Thanked me for being super sweet, introduced herself as Astrid (and that's when I know i fucked up) and asked for my name.
Gig 3: Penny Black Went alone like the usual but I was actually expecting Blair to join me. Earlier in the week she noticed the Rackett tee I wore and pointed out that she actually listened to Rackett because of the flyers around Uni. She really liked Ready or Not. So of course I had to invite her to the penny black gig, which awkwardly after our presentation. She didn't show, she ended up taking a nap. No grudges. Got to the gig, the band were sitting by their merch desk while their supporting band were playing. I sat in the corner for both the supporting act as I chowed down on my burnt toast for dinner. On her way to the washroom Bec gave me a little wave. Anyways Gigs starting, moved forward to the left-ish from the stage. Infront of apillar, on a lonely stool. - They covered Women again. - In one song, she invited the audience up to dance on stage with the band. - A glass fell over and broke into pieces. I think it might've been on the edge of one of the AMPs. Landed by Ally's feet. - She offered to put poeple on the door if anyone would make it to the next day's Killing Heidi show because "we have no friends and you guys are our only friends" - I think by Ready or Not Bec took of her t-shirt and threw it to one girl - A guy did the 'worship/bowing' motion after one song. Honestly same
After the show, Ally Kat and Astrid tidied up while Bec headed over to the merch desk. There was a small line of people waiting to talk to her. The two girls infront of me were also from UniMelb and said something along the lines of "you say yuo don't have any friends but looks like you got plenty hey" They might've caught Rackett's gig at BBB as well.
I was going to confront Ally about the CDs since I never actually had tem delivered.
