misty releasing togepi was such an abysmally bad decision that every episode involving her after the fact almost feels embarrassed and ashamed that they did that. like attempting to replace it with azurill and then just quietly pretending that was never a thing (until aim to be a pokemon master kinda referenced it but not really)

#also reminds me of how the dub replaced rachel lillis w michele knotz for her….#ok this feels mean. i dont mean ill will to any va theyre doing their jobs and im sure a lot of the time it comes down to direction #especially in pokemon where the directing just sucks #but…. man i do not care for any of knotz’s performances in the anime. none of them do anything for me #and i do not understand at ALL why they couldnt just get lillis back for misty #like they got carter cathcart back for gary and oak i think AND lillis has come back on pokemon after the cast change #and unlike with brock and ash’s vas… i dont think anyone can say theyre super nostalgic and attached to knotz’s misty #bc unlike may or jessie- mistys never around #after that voice change #like at that point just get lillis back so when you wanna nostalgia bait you can actually appeal to ppl who grew up with misty #in the west ofc #when i hear dp brock im like ‘’oh ik that guy’’ and still like the og too #but whenever i hear a sliver of knotz’s misty im like IMPOSTER!!!!!!!!!!#echoed voice
