As the monastery falls into a comfortable rhythm of a seemingly idyllic, though perhaps a little zany, day-to-day life, the new year brings with it a shake-up coming from the lands of Adrestia. Students and knights with ties to the Empire all receive news, one way or another, of the re-establishment of the Southern Church. In a holy place like Garreg Mach, it quickly becomes the dominant discussion, and day-in and day-out, it feels near impossible to not hear something about this new-old branch.
However, as the weather gets warmer and the first signs of summertime begin to encroach, the Central Church announces that it has received a distress call— and who else might be its sender but the newly rebuilding Southern Church? It's all hands on deck for the Black Eagles to investigate the matter and see what might be amiss, but beware, because you feel eyes and ears on you everywhere...
Black Eagles Mission: Investigate the Southern Church!
BE Mission Task Board
Most of your manpower is dedicated to fending off sudden bandit attacks. None of them are especially trained in combat, but their numbers are relentless, and they don't seem to be all in cahoots with one another either. Instead, the attacks seem to be coming from different gangs and brotherhoods in the area. With a bit of questioning though, all of them claim that word has spread like wildfire about rich yuppies from the Officers Academy roaming around here, and so many opportunistic marauders have set their sights on your group. Cut down one, three more pop up. They warn that punishing them will not stop the attacks, but nobody can give you a clear answer on who's spreading these rumors either. Every day, the number of injured increases, unless there's something you can do to change this... [Grants Axe +1]
It's the fifth case in just one week. Shortly after arriving in Varley territory, those from outside of Fódlan with horses have found that their steeds are much more agitated and acting uncharacteristically cold to even their trusted partners, throwing off their riders and ignoring all commands. It's getting in the way of work but it's also clearly making the locals feel anxious about the competence of your party and whether or not it's really safe to have you around. Get to the bottom of what's causing this, before the bond between horse and rider becomes irreparable. [Grants Riding +1]
Even without a clear understanding of what might be afoot here, your group has been ordered to remain in Varley territory. While searching for any leads, it is clear that the local soup kitchen could use a few extra hands, and although your own party is well-taken care of with regards to food and supplies, the same cannot be said for everybody that lives here. Perhaps if you can raise the comfort of living for the destitute, they might have a thing or two to tell you about what goes on in Varley lands, or perhaps you simply do this out of a desire to not see your fellow man suffer. Beware, however, that if you choose to share your own provisions, that some knights traveling with you are much stricter on guarding what's been brought with and given to your group.
To be on the ground might be the safest bet. Mysteriously, guard towers that your party have been using have had their ladders stolen and staircases in the inns you're staying in have their railings and steps suddenly collapse— pushing your numbers towards taking what could be grievous plummets if you're not careful. Scouting is being relegated only to those with some flying experience, but those with foreign mounts or wearing the Garreg Mach uniform have found themselves the target of archers. Who could be behind these attacks? And will you find yourself taking that great, big fall before you find out that answer? [Grants Flying +1]
It's not normal for a distress call to suddenly flicker into nothingness, right? But the Officers Academy higher-ups insist it's been investigated, and you have nothing to worry about. So what, then, is this strange dream you've woken to in the middle of the night, calling your name and asking for your help? Come to the bluffs tomorrow night, it asks, and we can meet then. But nothing happens. Come to the bluffs, the voice asks again. Is it a trap? Or is someone really in need of help? [EVOLVING EVENT!] As you wander the bluffs in search of whoever had called you there, you stumble across a large shelter hidden underground...
NEW! Dread fills the air as every night, your party grows smaller and smaller. Some people leave your inns in the morning and simply don't return even by the late hours of the night. When asking the locals about the potential of kidnappers plaguing this area, they all insist that nothing of the sort had been a problem until your group arrived, and it's clear that it's only those of your party that are disappearing. Murmurs start to circulate, from both the locals and even those who came with you, of your vanished comrades being 'victims who are easy to erase' given all the victims' lack of any background connected to this continent. How long shall it be before your own friend disappears too, and will tonight be the last time you ever see them again? Or shall it be you who goes missing next without ever saying your goodbyes?
NEW! Late at night, a cold mist and fog lays over the city. The first signs of summertime die in an instant, and these conditions serve as a prelude always before wild beasts appear in the streets. The locals have never seen anything like them and are downright terrified. Some call them hounds, other call them wolves, but no matter the manner of creature, they prowl and release bursts of icy magic to immobilize their prey before they pounce and devour. And their prey? Well, it seems as if these new threats have a taste for the inns your party stays at, exclusively striking the tenants staying there... [Grants Reason +1]
NEW! With the recent news about the attempted assassination of Count Varley, it's been demanded that your party help with the investigation. Accounts from the Varley estate report that the would-be killer had been been dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, and his weapons were all tarnished with rust and soot. His eyes, how they glinted. His scars, how scary! His jaw was chiseled from stone, and his hands were hairy. The line of his mouth was like a wound in his face, and the beard of his chin was as grey as the fireplace. The Count himself insists that the man was huge and muscled, a right vicious old devil, and he peed himself despite it all... only a little. A glare in his eye and the twist of his head was all that was needed to fill him with dread. But before the deed could be done, he disappeared without a trace, and the Count was left alone to explain his disgrace. Find him, he pleads to you. And bring his head back on a platter. So he can prove that when it comes to his head, there's nothing the matter.
Non-Mission Task Board
It's been a while since the monastery has hosted a tournament. Enter Lieutenant Lanton, with another of his marvelous ideas. This time, the name of the game is swapping. The Swap Showdown will feature contestants trading weapons, mounts, and armor before their fight. If a pegasus knight squares up against an archer, they must now turn a bow to their beloved mount. Think you have what it takes to come out on top?
After the War of Shadows, Archanea's fearsome wooden cavalry was doomed to fall out of fashion. Though its ballistae were able to once travel the world with their ballisticians, they relied upon a special type of fruit to create the oil that helped it move. Over time, said fruit disappeared, and all ballisticians were condemned to remain forever still. However, by virtue of a miracle, one Archanean transfer student brought the last collection of seeds with them and has been able to find success in growing it here in Fódlan's soil. Eager to test whether or not their oil works, a ballista in the style of the Archanea's faux-cavalry has been built on the monastery grounds. However, it turns out with so few people used to a man-made structure as big as this moving and an unfortunate malfunction in its construction, it's started barreling through the monastery pathways, destroying anything in its path with its driver utterly helpless to get it to brake. Your goal? Stop that ballista at any cost! [Grants Bow +1]
The tunnels of Abyss are full of secrets by their nature, but there are some which even its own residents are unaware of. One such secret, hidden behind a convincing wall of fake stone, reveals itself when someone tumbles right through and dispels the illusion. Others who come looking for them a short time later find only a huge, gilded archway at the end of the newly exposed tunnel. It pulses with magic, aglow with a swirling curtain of bright blues and dark greens, but there is no sign of another person anywhere. Word of this ‘Outrealm Gate’, as those in-the-know call it, spreads fast… and the outrage over what it could invite spreads even faster. Though nothing has come out of the gate, a mob of men is still set to destroy it first thing in the morning, but in the meantime, its mystery beckons you. Are you worried about the person who disappeared? Or do you simply fancy taking a peek into whatever world is supposedly on the other side, even if there’s no guarantee it’ll be a pleasant one?
The Mittelfrank Opera has taken its recruitment on the road! At the very least, the B-list director by the name of D'Silva has come to Garreg Mach to scout talent for a new production under his name. While his rather unconventional and experimental methods haven't made him too popular among the opera-loving elite, he lives and dies by the unique recording device he's gotten his hands on. As for what this show will be about? Well, that's what he's come here for. "The content will be determined by its actors!" he declares at the end of his rousing, albeit kind of crazy speech in Garreg Mach's town square. He's looking to fill all sorts of positions, from costume designers, to scriptwriters, to set artists, to the leads themselves. Will you take on a role and the potential to bask in the warm glow of fame? Or are you just here to get paid? Speaking of payment, or lack thereof, well… extra credit doesn't hurt, you suppose. [Grants +1 Authority]
From beyond the classroom windows comes a sudden, relentless deluge, and from within, a chorus of cheers. Surely this means your outdoor practice will be cancelled today! Even as your instructor marches you all outside and across a waterlogged field, you all hold tightly to this conviction. A field trip in the rain is better than training in the rain, after all, but all confidence shatters the moment he brings you to a stop at the foot of a hill. “You will go take that summit, and you will not let anyone else have it,” he says, pointing to its flag-topped crest. Immediately, groans erupt among your party, each of you cold and soaked to the bone. Yet while some grouse about the "extreme" rule that disallows weapons and the rain itself, others are taking advantage of your inertia and already elbowing their way up the slope. Your instructor, seemingly unbothered by the rain, makes it clear: join them, or accept your Fail for the class.
NEW! A strange affliction has started to spread across the monastery. Students and staff have been reporting disturbances in their dreams, describing them as unending until they complete some sort of quest or objective. While no more than a night's sleep passes in reality, some have felt like they've been locked away for years, struggling to meet their objective to escape. What's more, people have begun meeting up--and both parties usually share the same memory. Perhaps the mastermind behind this phenomenon exists somewhere in our dreams...
NEW! "Pssst. Hey, you." Yes, you. Because who else would this hooded stranger beckoning from a dark alley be talking to? "You're from that fancy school, right? Where they accept commoners alongside nobles? I've got a job for you, but the Church don't need to know, a'ight? You can keep the reward all to yourself." And oh, what a reward… The orb proffered gleams with energy, with life, with temptation. "All's I needs from ya…" A dramatic pause. "…Is a copy of the answers to next week's lance fighter exam. Don't worry, it'll go to a good cause." With that reassurance in mind, decide whether you'll pass on this test, or whether you're up to the challenge. [Grants Lance+1]
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the divided task board work?
This season’s mission is assigned to the Black Eagles muses. Therefore, tasks from the ‘Black Eagles Mission Task Board’ must be undertaken by someone that is affiliated with the Black Eagles house. However, they may choose to perform the task with someone who is not from their group as well. In logistical terms, this means that if you play a non-BE muse and want to do a mission task, you must ask someone who plays a Black Eagles muse to thread with you. All thread participants will still receive any skill point rewards. Tasks from the ‘Non-Mission Task Board’ have no house restriction and can be undertaken by anyone.
These aren’t the only threads I can do, right?
Of course not! These are just prompts to help give some ideas of possibilities. You’re always free and encouraged to make up your own threads.
If my muse is not a Black Eagles muse, can I still write an open starter for the mission tasks?
Yes, but only the non-mission tasks. Your character must be affiliated with the Black Eagles to write an open starter for this season’s mission.
How do I claim the skill points?
In order to qualify for the skill point, the thread must clearly allude to the listed task and preferably feature the task being completed. However, you can still claim the skill point if your characters narratively fail. You do not need to message the masterlist to claim your skill point.
Can I only do one task?
Nope, you can do as many as you’d like with as many different partners as you’d like! You can do the same task with more than one person! However, you can only claim any skill points once.
Remember to use (and track!) the #toa open tag for any open threads, and you can also post a link to your open thread on the appropriate Discord channel! If you have any other questions or concerns, shoot us a message through the masterlist or on Discord!

Eris getting some of Nesta's powers and his importance in the future
Y'all I'm 90% sure some of Nesta's power has been transferred to Eris, at first it occurred to me in a sort of "ha, could be" way but I'm pretty certain, hear me out! Also going to touch on the subject of Nesta not losing her powers completely.
The power in the dagger
Nesta Made the dagger and put some of her own power into it, and then Eris got that dagger as a present by Inner Circle, which wasn't really a necessary scene nor plot point unless you read between the lines.
KINGDOM OF ASH SPOILERS AHEAD!
We have seen the exact same thing in Kingdom Ash, Aelin lost all of her power but an ember, but beforehand put it in her sword Goldryn and whooped Maeve's ass, actually head lol, with it. Having power shoot out of her hands and her sword felt pretty much the same so I'm sure Nesta will be equally powerful in the next book! Not only does she have a bit of her power left, three weapons filled with her power, and the Dread Trove. Nesta is still the most powerful character 😎
If Nesta can put some of her power into a weapon, it doesn't seem like a stretch at all for the power in the weapon to get out and into a person.
Eris only pretended to be influenced by Koschei
This one was kinda obvious to me from the moment I read it, no psychoanalyzing needed.
Nesta and her weapons were said to "probably" grant immunity from Koschei's power because they were both Made, and Eris had the dagger while he when he was captured.
Every person that has been possessed by Koschei has been said to have glassy eyes, EVERYONE except Eris!
Eris's soldiers had glassy eyes.
Bellius had glassy eyes.
Cassian had glassy eyes.
Eris is the only "possessed" person to get "accidentally" caught.
Eri's soldiers said nothing, and it was Briallyn who reveal that Bellius and Cassian were possessed.
Out of Cassian, Bellius, Eris, and his soldiers, Eris is undoubtedly the slickest and most cunning one. Comparison between him and Cassian has been dragged throughout the whole book, while Cassin is the muscle, Eris plays mind games and politics.
ERIS IS THE MASTER AT WORD GAMES! How did Cass and Az realize he was possessed and therefore Koschei being there? THROUGH ERIS USING A WORD GAME he knew only Cass and Az will pick up on.
Are y'all trying to tell me that Eris, who supposedly had immunity from the Koschei's power, didn't show the only sign of being possessed which is glassy eyes, had accidentally said something that will let Cass and Az know he's "possessed"?
Golden flames
The word "flame" has been used in 4 different contexts throughout the book
a) actual fire in the fireplace
b) silver flames in Nesta's eyes
c) flames in Lucien's eyes
d) flames in Eris's eyes
We know that Autumn Court's power is fire, both Lucien and Eris were described to have red flames in their eyes, which is completely expected right?
Eris was said to have flame/red flame multiple times, but I'm only allowed ten pics per post, and obviously not gonna put quotes of Nesta's silver flames cause it's literally the title lol.
Then, when Eris was "possessed" and held a dagger to Cassian's chest, it was said that flame rippled from it, and Cass didn't know if it came from the dagger itself or from Eris.
My guess? Both or combined! When Eris received the dagger, he said that it has flame in it, and Eris is said to have had flames in his eyes previously.
Last but not least, AFTER Eris had been "possessed" and AFTER the dagger was returned to the Night Court, ERIS NOT LONGER HAS RED FLAME IN HIS EYES, BUT GOLD.
This was in the penultimate chapter! Aka the chapter before the last. SJM always takes great care to put something important or foreshadowish at the end of each book. The last chapter was obviously Nessian and Archeron sisters, since it was the Nessian book and the three sisters are all finally happy together (plus announcing the next book as Elain's) but chapter before that... about Eris? Interesting.
There was so much about him there I for a second thought the next book is going to be about him lol. So much to unpack in that chapter:
Eris was tortured by his father for information (which I think is the hint for Eris not being possessed).
Eris still insists there are some things about him and Mor that Mor hasn't told the Inner Circle.
He wants to explain something to Mor.
He obviously just wants to be friends with the Inner Circle (but that's a discussion for another post).
Cassian, who hates Eris with burning passion throughout the whole book, says he thinks Eris is a good guy, but is too much of a coward to act like it.
It was hinted that Beron did much worse things to Eris during his life, "The male had been raised with every luxury and privilege - on paper. But who knew what terrors Beron had inflicted upon him? Cassin knew Beron had murdered Lucien's lover. If the High Lord of Autumn had been willing to do that, what wouldn't he do?" If you ever read any SJM serials you would know that this wasn't put here just because, it's always foreshadowing with her.
"Because it doesn't add up. You know what a monster your father is and want to usurp him; you act against him in the best interests of not only the Autumn Court but all of the faerie lands; you risk your life to ally with us... and yet you left her in the woods." - Cassian. Do you see all the material for the future book?
"Eris crossed his arms, then winced. As if whatever injuries lay beneath his immaculate clothes ached." I THINK THIS IS A DESCRIPTION OF NOT ONLY ERIS'S CURRENT SITUATION, BUT HIS WHOLE LIFE. As Cass said, born in luxury, raised by a monster.
Eris is generally very fucked up? Not only was it in this last chapter, but it was stated multiple times that his upbringing really damaged him. When Cassian was surprised by the fact Beron tortured him, Eris responded with: "Get that pitying look off your face. I know what sort of creature my father is. I don't need your sympathy." That is an extremely fucked up way to respond to being tortured by one's father, and implicates he was subjected to similar misery earlier in his life.
"Nesta could see he didn't believe them - that he was so used to twisted politics and scheming of his court that even when the simple, easy truth was offered, he could not see it." Again, very messed up mindset, which in the author's language means writing material.
The last line said to Eris in the book is: "Eris was still their ally. Was willing to be tortured to keep their secrets. And Cassian didn't need to be a courtier to know his next words would slice deep, but it would be a necessary wound. Perhaps it would be enough to push him in the right direction. "You know, Eris, I think you might be a decent male, deep down, trapped in a horrible situation." He looked over his shoulder to find Eris's gaze blazing again. But only pity stirred in his chest, pity for a male who has been born into riches, but had been destitute in every way that truly mattered. In every way Cassian had been blessed - blessings that were now overflowing. So Cassian said; "I grew up surrounded by monsters. I've spent my existence fighting them. And I see you, Eris. You're not one of them. Not even close. I think you might even be a good male. You're just too much of a coward to act like it." This was said by Cassian, whom Eris insulted every time they interacted, who hurt his sister, who wanted to steal his mate, whom Cassian said he wanted to kill or leave to die on so so many occasions, who made Cassian feel stupid and insecure every chance he had, and yet Cass of all people found it in his big good heart to see the good in Eris and try to push him to be good.
And now, his eyes burn with golden flames.
There is so so much to unpack and reveal about Eris's character, and SJM couldn't be more obvious with pointing it out. He is definitely going to play a huge role in the next book(s). With his possible new powers, overthrowing Beron, healing from all the emotional and physical trauma inflicted upon him, revealing a lot of secrets he's been keeping, and finding a way to show his true colors.
Also I think Nesta might be the one to help him with it because she at some point says that she deserves to marry him because "she is just like him", and not only in a way that they both insulted Cassian. They both had/had demanding parents which made them cold and unfeeling, preferring to appear as assholes because they don't want and don't know how to be their true kind selves. I think she would a great friend and the best person to help him deal with everything.
And the way Eris obviously likes her which we've seen when they were dancing. How he saw that she really liked spinning around so he went out of his way to spin her on multiple occasions even though it wasn't in the dance protocol. I'm pretty sure that was his way of getting closer to her because he obviously can't do it with words.

OC Study
Tagged by @advena87 to fill out -THIS- OC question prompt.
I tag @starsandskies @1orweth @kanawolf
This is time consuming so I can understand if you guys don't want to do it, so no pressure. I spent roughly a week and a half, almost two weeks on this? No regrets, mostly took so long for me because I work full time and I tend to space out a lot and ramble. Lol
It is quite a bit of fun and a good exercise to help develop your characters so I do recommend It! Don't recommend doing more than three OCs at a time though, three was hard for me and usually I'm an over-achiever. Go easy and dont burn yourself out! Also would be a good exercise if you're writing with a canon character and want to get a handle on working with them.
I wanted to answer this in character originally but it would have been twice as long and probably taken me a month or more. 😅 Perhaps I'll do something like that one day....
Dragon Age OCs per usual for me.
Warden-Commander and Hero of Fereldan (DAO & DAOA)
Growing up in the Denerim Alienage has made Feiell a very bitter, angry, and agressive person. Biting and scrabbling to survive she also had to fight to keep her family and neighbors safe from the rich humans that liked to exploit the destitute elves. She gained a reputation as a protector but also a very hard woman.
She redibly accepted her conscription into the Grey Wardens, not only to escape the persecution of the law, but also to escape the narrow world of the Alianage. Collecting the people that would later be affectionately called "The Blight Brigade" exposed her to many new adventures as well as lifelong friendships, love, and personal growth that could not have happened otherwise.
The Champion of Kirkwall (DA2)
Laid-back, vain, and honestly somewhat lazy, Aiden has never wanted to be anyone's savior let alone a whole city's. Family has been the only thing that mattered in his life and after his father's death, he naturally took on the role of protector and main provider for his mother and siblings. This also made it very natural to take in the stray band of misfits that became almost like family and also why it is so natural for Aiden to constantly help people, even at times he would rather not.
His bleeding heart drags Aiden into the center of conflict far more often than he likes and he constantly berates himself for it. This automatic altruism has jaded him which fuels his sarcastic and sometimes bitter, self-deprecating humor. A tad over dramatic at times means that while he rarely, it ever, says no to aiding someone in need, it certainly doesn't mean he has to be quiet about it either.
The Inqusitor (DAI)
Max has been fortunate for most of his life, from growing up in the wealthy Trevelyan family, to his good looks and, quiet frankly, fantastic smile it's easy to assume he'd be another spoiled rich brat. You'd be giving in to a stereotype that doesn't, quiet, fit him though. From a young age Max has always been outgoing and adventurous which made him a handful to raise. His father frequently grappled with finding things to keep his youngest son occupied in ways that he hadn't had to do with his previous three children.
Born with a naturally sharp mind and quick wit, Max picks up new concepts quickly and with ease. Which means he often grew board with tutors, burned through the family library in a handful of years, quickly became very competent on horseback as well as the breeding and rearing of them (part of the family business), and often terrorized his siblings as well as the hired staff. Once he exhausted most of the interesting things at home he started running off to search for new adventures. Boredom and frequent arguments with his father often lead to habitual bouts of running away from home. Hence where Max got to truly learn about the world and open his eyes to the kind of privilege he's been so lucky to be born with. Unfortunately this also has ingrained his habit of running away from problems he doesn't see a forward solution to. (*cough*theinqusiton*cough*)
OC Study
Featuring:
Warden-Commander Feiell “Fe" Tabris
Champion of Kirkwall Aiden Hawke
Inquisitor Maxwell “Max" Trevelyan
1. Is your OC easily bothered by things?
Feiell – Small things don’t really bother her but she is a tad hot-headed so if you give her a hard time you might not be in for the best experience. She also has zero tolerance for idiots or assholes.
Aiden – He’s a petty bitch that mostly whines and complains to annoy his friends. Also whining about petty things is a good cover for the bigger worries and anxieties he hides underneath.
Max – Mostly an easygoing, carefree type. It takes the numerous responsibilities of the Inquisition weighing down on him all at once before he starts cracking.
2. How easily does your OC make friends?
Feiell – Most defiantly not a people person. Her natural stoic demure and biting sarcasm keeps people at bay. You have to spend quite a bit of time around her before she warms up to you.
Aiden – For reasons he doesn’t really understand people like Aiden. It’s probably his easy smile and sense of humor which he uses to get what he wants or needs out of them. Not really manipulative just doesn’t feel like he deserves the attention. The humor mostly hides his pain and keeps people at arms length, mostly unintentionally. He hates to burden those he loves.
Max – Max loves people, mostly entertaining, or teasing them. His signature charming smile and good looks usually put people at ease which makes him very likable. It also lets him get away with the mischief he often gets into.
3. Does your OC go beyond what they have to do or do they usually do just enough work to get by?
Feiell – Has almost literally killed herself to get where she is. Her work ethic is legendary and she’ll do almost anything to support her family and friends.
Aiden – Will do the barest minimum to get by. Her lazy as hell, even though he is incapable of saying no when someone needs help.
Max – Believes in doing things right the first time and if not the first time then defiantly the second time. Whatever the job needs to get done he willing to do and if it’s a favorite project he can lose himself in it indefinitely.
4. Is your OC respectful of others?
Feiell – She will be as respectful to you as you are to her, but will out match you if you’re a dick to her or her friends.
Aiden – Respectful enough to not cause trouble and get people to leave him alone.
Max – Perfect manners, and ridiculously charming. He believes everyone deserves respect unless they prove otherwise.
5. Is your OC imaginative or more down-to-earth?
Feiell – Defiantly no-nonsense and down-to-earth. She believes in hard work to active your goals.
Aiden – More of a day-dreamer but pulls a practical side together to care for and help family and friends. Dreams are nice but plans put food on the table.
Max – Total idealist, truly believes even the most impossible is attainable if you work at it long enough. Most of that idealistic optimism is broken after Trespasser, but that’s a long story.
6. Is your OC comfortable with themselves?
Feiell – She’s always been comfortable with who she is and has never felt any shame for it. She owes that to her parents and cousin.
Aiden – Feels like a constant failure and a burden despite how hard he tries not to. Doesn’t feel comfortable with opening up about his feelings and weighing others down with them. Is also terrible with expressing more painful emotions.
Max – Is mostly comfortable with himself. Always felt like a disappointment to his family because he never had the kind of goals for his life he thought they would want from him. Also never really saw himself as reliable but the Inquisition changed all that.
7. Does your OC plan things and stick to it or do they make it up as their go?
Feiell – Always has a plan and is a master of adjusting things on the fly if needed. Prefers to stick to the plan but has accepted how rarely that can happen.
Aiden – He’s been winging his whole life and it somehow hasn’t killed him yet.
Max – Usually has more of an outline than a hard plan. Trial & error are his best friends and somehow he’s still alive, that’s probably because he uses educated guesses more that throwing things to the wind.
8. Was their life eventful before the start of the story, or was it more dull?
Feiell – Depends if living in poverty and oppression is dull to you. I guess since it was normal for her it was boring.
Aiden – The stress of hiding a mage father and sister was more than Aiden ever wanted. He would have preferred boring.
Max – While the constant mischief Max got himself into means things were never dull they certainly seem boring when compared to life in the Inquisition. Josephine certainly had her hands full going through all of Max’s past exploits.
9. Do they have the habit to insult other people?
Feiell – Is a salty, little bitch so defiantly yes. She has a sharp tongue.
Aiden – Bit of a smart-ass and occasionally he can’t help it so it gets him in trouble.
Max – Mostly no, it takes quite a bit to get on his nerves enough to make him snap at you. Usually very polite.
10. Would your OC be described as “the life of the party”?
Feiell – She can be described as the death of the party.
Aiden – Likes to think he is.
Max – Is the actual life of the party if he wants to be. Usually he is.
11. Are they critical of others?
Feiell – To a degree, yes
Aiden - Mostly critical of himself
Max – Not really, he’s pretty non-judgmental
12. Do they like art? what is their favorite type (paintings, songs, fashion, etc)?
Feiell – The art of war perhaps, but music is good too.
Aiden – He considers Fenris a work of art if that counts.
Max – Paintings, music, nature, pretty clothes (mostly on Dorian), Max loves it all. He was especially fond of watching Solar paint his murals.
13. Are they more accepting or more controlling of the people in their life?
Feiell – As long as you’re not bothering her and no one gets hurt she doesn’t really care what people do.
Aiden – He has no control over his own life let alone any one else.
Max – Very accepting of people but not above a subtle nudge to do things he feels might benefit them.
14. Is your OC a good listener?
Feiell – She listens more than she talks, so yes.
Aiden – The one who’s always there to listen when you need him.
Max - Yes, he also has a great memory so he's very good at keeping track of all the drama in life. Lol
15. Are they opinionated or more willing to change their minds?
Feiell – Pretty opinionated but not impossible to change her mind, not that it is easy to do so mind you.
Aiden – Too changeable at times and mostly keeps his opinions to himself.
Max – A few solid moral opinions that he won’t move on but open-minded on nearly everything else.
16. Are they the kind of person who’s always on the defensive?
Feiell – Much less than she use to be but definitely yes.
Aiden – Only when he feels blamed for everything, which he is often.
Max – No, he dose his best to own up to his mistakes and rarely takes things personally.
17. Do people like hanging around them? do they have a positive, friendly energy?
Feiell – I will file this under HELL NO. She scares the crap out of most people if she doesn’t piss them off. It can take quite awhile for friends to warm up to her, if at all.
Aiden – People love Aiden, but the older he gets the less Aiden likes people. They demand too much from him but he’ll never be able to say no, or miss a chance at a passive-aggressive joke. Or a regular bad joke for that matter.
Max – People love Max almost from the moment they meet him. There is just something about him that puts everyone at ease and makes it easier to trust and smile. Must be the charming smile, yeah, has to be. He’s not bad looking either.
18. Is your OC a procrastinator? if they are, what’s an example of how much?
Feiell – People die if she puts things off, so no. Some days she wishes she could put many things off though. Like dying anytime soon, there’s too much to accomplish.
Aiden – What is productivity? If nobody is dying or it’s not dragging him, kicking and screaming, by the hair then its probably not getting done. At least no time soon. Guilt trip him hard to speed things up.
Max – Important things get done but if it’s not a pressing issue then it often can be temporarily abandoned for more enjoyable activities. Even if it’s set aside, the thing will still be done in a reasonable amount of time. Unless he forgets, which can happen frequently.
19. Do they tend to panic in certain situations or are they more calm?
Feiell – Always calm, if something bothers her you’ll never know.
Aiden – Panics constantly. Somewhat hides it well…somewhat…
Max – Takes most things in stride, the sudden dump of responsibility and people’s lives was really stressful but he adjusted to it.
20. Are they vengeful?
Feiell – I literally made a post of her being a deity of vengeance lol.
Aiden – Petty or bitter, perhaps, but not full on vengeful.
Max – Yes, touch the people he loves and see a whole different side of him.
21. What are some skills your OC has a talent for and what are some that they worked for?
Feiell – She’s has a natural flair for swordsmanship, her mother started training her and Fe kept up the practice even after her mother’s passing. Her leadership skills were…a little more rough. She had to learn how to organize and lead people on the fly because of the Blight but luckily she learns quickly.
Aiden – He’s scary good at lying, not even Varric can catch him in one. (Honestly most of his book is just Varric's best guess on Aiden's thoughts) Knife throwing took quite a bit of practice though. He can now nail someone at 100 pages and is unmatched at darts.
Max – Politics and navigating the Great Game are weirdly natural for Max even though he kinda hates it. His archery skill is something he is extremely proud of because he’s practiced relentlessly to be as good as he is. And he really is good, until a natural like Sera comes and shatters his ego. Lol
22. Are they more socially awkward or socially confident?
Feiell – Awkward, but in the way that she doesn’t care what people do or say. She dose her own thing and ignores everyone else.
Aiden – Smooth on the outside, tired wreak on the inside. Not that anyone will ever know.
Max – Social chameleon, and life of the party. Until he slips away unnoticed somehow.
23. What is something really dumb that irritates your OC a lot?
Feiell – Dumb questions about her hair: “How long is it?”, “Why do you keep it that long?”, “Is it really that red?”. Usually answered with “Why do you care so much, it’s not your hair.” Also people touching her constantly, she doesn’t see the need to constantly clap people on the shoulder or grab their arms when somethings funny.
Aiden – Orlesians, if you don’t know anything about DA then I’m sorry, this probably doesn’t make sense to you.
Max – Assuming he's stupid or that because of his wealth that he doesn't do any work. He's a natural busy-body so assuming he sits on his are all day is really irritating.
24. Do they tend to see the good in people?
Feiell – No, she’s had too many bad experiences before so distrust is her default until proven otherwise.
Aiden – Sometimes, mostly sees people in shades of grey. No one is 100% good or bad.
Max – He sees the good in people as often as he can and tries to pull some good out of those who are sometimes a little lost.
25. What does it take for your OC to trust someone?
Feiell – Doing what you say you will, not hiding things, sticking up for others when it clearly has no benefit for you, and give it a few weeks….or months and she may trust you.
Aiden – Help him out in a hard spot, or help family/friends.
Max – If you’re not openly malicious or he doesn’t feel like you’re lying/hiding anything his default if to trust until proven otherwise.
26. Do they have a lot of mood swings?
Feiell – Not really, she’s not a very emotional person. Unless you count her temper which can light like a matchstick.
Aiden - Known to be moody, to the point of it being a well known joke among friends. On bad days he can even out do Anders.
Max – Only if the stress is overwhelming him or he’s pretty sick. Otherwise he’s pretty even tempered.
27. Do they like to be the center of attention or do they prefer to be in the background?
Feiell – Hates being the center of attention and would rather be left alone. Unfortunately she’s had to get use to the attention after becoming Warden-Commander.
Aiden – If people could forget who he is it would be really nice. Likes being the center of attention among friends and family, doesn’t like it with crowds of strangers.
Max – Loves entertaining people and making them laugh which makes him great for parties. He grew up attending big gatherings and is an expert at navigating them, which means he's also very good at slipping away from them when he tires of the crowds.
28. Do people think they’re pretentious?
Feiell – Sometimes, her natural expression can give that impression but most of those people that make this mistake are racist shems that don’t like the power she has. Or the fact that she could kill them without breaking a sweat.
Aiden – No, his face is too friendly and if that doesn’t do it the self-deprecating jokes do.
Max – Yes, it’s easy for people to assume that since he comes from money. He’s never thought himself better than anyone though and tries to dispel that impression, but you can’t control what people want to think of you.
29. Is your OC detail oriented or do they focus more on the big picture?
Feiell – Details, details, you add them all up and that’s how you get a bigger picture. Other words, very detail oriented.
Aiden – Big picture. How you get there is a mystery though.
Max – Big picture first then an outline of the main details to get there.
30. Which high school movie stereotype would they fit best?
Feiell – The ice queen/The strict, scary teacher.
Aiden – Class clown/Troublemaker/Weird but laid back teacher
Max – The jock that befriends the weird kid/Hot science teacher
31. Are they good giving advice?
Feiell – Defiantly not, she’s better at giving orders.
Aiden – Only ask if you want to get in trouble. Ok, that’s not completely true, occasionally he can give good advice. Particularly to help cheer someone up.
Max – I would say yes, he’s gotten quite a bit of good advice over the years and likes to pass it on.
32. Which one of the 7 deadly sins fit your OC more? do they see it as a flaw?
Feiell – Wrath: Only a flaw if you think beating your enemies is a bad thing.
Aiden - Sloth: Regrets this flaw. If he had acted sooner on many things they might not have escalated the way they did.
Max – Pride: A flaw he has worked hard to temper over the years. Was more of a problem when he was younger than now.
33. Is your OC more likely to keep their feelings to themselves or to share them?
Feiell – Keeps them mostly to herself. A couple close friends may get a glimpse but only Zevran knows her well. He’s learned when to prod to get her to open up.
Aiden – Doesn’t like to burden others so keeps his feelings to himself even when he shouldn’t.
Max – His oldest sister is his best friend and confidant, she gets to hear everything. Max has started to lean on Dorian in this way too. Basically immediate family and good friends will know what’s up.
