why if you ask "hey does anyone know a book like this one gay book i read?" people suggest random books with gay characters or an mlm/wlw romance as if that's all a book with queer characters is??

surely if i'm saying i liked a book i liked more than the protagonists being of the same gender. surely i liked the story, the setting, the general vibes..

but when you say "hey i really liked Twilight! any recs for books like that??" nobody answers "oh Little Women! it has some straights in it so it's almost the same story!!" like wtf
