As an addition to my last reblog: I'd like to, as gently as possible, ask people to please reconsider when drawing someone cross-eyed/wall-eyed to indicate that they're either having a moment of stupidity or are in general not a comparatively smart character

I get it, it's hard to let go of your beloved cartoon roots, but I'm asking for this to be considered nonetheless

#ideally i'd love for media to not caricaturise people as some sort of 'low IQ' indicator #and to just treat their characters equally and not derogatorily based on perceived intelligence #i got sad and frustrated when this trope cropped up in dungeon meshi #mind i don't think people are actively doing this out of malice #more likely it's from people who purely learned the trope from existing media #and have not personally experienced having these sort of issues with their eyes #or knowing someone who does #and therefore not knowing how much it can sting that people think your crossed eye/lazy eye/etc makes you less reliable #and just lesser of a person in general
