So, I’m trying to find work doing remote freelance stuff, and one of the things I’ve realized I could do is writing.

There are several people asking for fictional short stories/novellas about various topics. A+. Sounds good.

They all want a writing portfolio, which I don’t exactly...have. (Unless they want my junior project on structural analysis of the deluxe album version of Electra Heart or my senior essay on why Schubert is my favorite art song composer...)

I’m seriously considering sending them links to my fanfiction account on Ao3, because, honestly, does anything even matter anymore?

I’m not even kidding.

I might do it.

I need work.

#how dare this pandemic come around when I am finally in a place where I might be able to work and have a Real Job™ and am an EMC member #and thus can go to Equity auditions and get seen if I show up early enough and get along with the Equity Monitor #how dare a plague fall upon MY planet and show me such disrespect #once I finally started inching out of the depression chasm and could focus on things other than recovery #HOW DARE IT #I already have a gap in my non-acting resume because...I've been focusing on being a working actor #but all the places that aren't arts-related (which obviously isn't much of an option right now) don't see doing theatre as 'work'#so...I'm just kind of at a loss for what to do with myself in order to be a working human and find work?#UGH #there are some remote commercial opportunities and I'm waiting on a test from a transcription company because I'm pretty good at typing #and hey the original musical I was in awhile back is going through a rewrite with a hopeful reading in New York so...*shrug* who knows man
