WEEK 1 HIGHLIGHTS
Before anything else, I want to thank everyone for getting so invested in these silly polls! I know it's a little bit of a joke poll series given the whole conceit, but It's been very fun to see people get invested, post their propaganda, and more!
Below the cut I'll put my personal highlights from the various week 1 match-ups! I'll be going a bit out of order just to keep the more propaganda-heavy tournament at the bottom of the post.
Now, the Jun Kurosu VS. Ann Takamaki match-up didn't garner any real propaganda to highlight, but I just wanted to shout out the fact that Ann ended the fight with over a fifth of the votes! She really gave it her all against a behemoth of a contender! She's truly in love with Shiho and I feel that in my heart. Ann finished with 44/192 votes, sitting at 22.9% of the votes. Her poll received 3 notes, all of which were likes.
Jun Kurosu VS. Mitsuo Kubo This one got a little interesting! Despite the low notes count, Mitsuo's poll had the second most votes of any poll, only second to Aigis! Now, unfortunately he also was most overwhelmingly voted not as gay as Jun, but he is certainly a he/it in my mind as someone who has not interacted at all with P4. RIP king... Now, onto the silly comments and propaganda for him!
Mitsuo finished with 14/250 votes, sitting at 5.6% of the votes. His poll received 9 notes, with 1 reply, 4 reblogs, and 4 likes.
Jun Kurosu VS. Anna Yoshizaka Anna also lacked any propaganda, but she managed to hold onto the closest contest against Jun of any contestant besides Aigis! Congrats to canon wlw! Gotta love the onscreen gay kiss. Love her. Anna finished with 58/157 votes, sitting at 36.9% of the votes. Her poll received 5 notes, with 1 reblog and 4 likes.
Jun Kurosu VS. Junpei Iori Junpei, much like Mitsuo, got kinda super wrecked in his poll. Yet another breakback tartarus fail, unfortunately. He will remain femme-leaning bi in my heart though regardless. Now onto the only piece of propaganda he received in the notes (although it's really anti-propaganda, lmao).
Junpei finished with 13/208 votes, sitting at 6.3% of the votes. His poll received 3 notes, with 1 reply and 2 likes.
Jun Kurosu VS. Philemon Philemon's gay divorce was of course not enough to combat the power of gay dating and longing from Jun. RIP uninvolved king. Philemon finished with 17/170 votes, sitting at 10% of the votes. His poll received 3 notes, all of which were likes.
Jun Kurosu VS. Aigis And now. Onto the behemoth this poll became. Holy shit. Aigis's poll alone brought so many of you to this blog! She gave Jun a real fight, and gave it her all- she even held the lead over him on the first day! This was truly a fight for the ages, and the notes, propaganda, and general interactions show it. To all of you who discovered this silly little blog through this poll specifically- thank you for taking the time to reblog it and get people interested! I'm just beyond amazed at how much people have gotten into this whole poll series in so little time. So thank you. :] And now, onto the propaganda and other messages! There are.... a lot, haha!
Whew! That was a lot. Aigis really did almost beat Jun out, and she's an amazing and incredible canon nonbinary bisexual girl! Even if she didn't beat Jun in this silly poll, she can absolutely win in your hearts <3. And now... the stats!
Aigis finished the poll with a whopping 274/591 votes, a grand total of 46.4% of the votes! Likewise, her poll received 54 notes, which was made up of 3 replies, 26 reblogs, and 25 likes. Aigis also had the most submissions of any character in the preliminary survery, with 4 nominations as opposed to all other contestants only having 1 nomination. All 4 nominations were submitted before the polls began.
And that's all there is to Week 1! Thank you all for taking part in these silly polls!
If you've read this far, I also want to thank you for taking the time to read the little bit of extra work I've put into getting the fun bits of the first week of polls! Because things are already blowing up with the Hamuko poll, I will probably be more particular with my choices when I do the Week 2 lookback, but I hope everyone is happy to see their additions to all the polls from Week 1 on this post!
As a bonus for reading this far, let me give you all a little teaser: I already have Week 3's lineup prepared, and it includes the most requested competitor, with a whopping 5 submissions at the time of writing this, beating out even Aigis! I hope you all are excited to see them next week! And once again good luck to all your favs in Week 2 and the upcoming weeks!
#are they gayer than jun kurosu polls#not a poll#week 1 polls#poll summaries#an insanely long post beneath the cut. you have been warned!#and this week. hopefully i'll have time to grab funny stuff as i see it throughout the week instead of just.#doing it after everything like i just did haha#enjoy! :]]]

GREAT news lads, I've found a motherfucking printer for my books! They even do saddlestitch stuff!! I can't even come up with a funny joke about this I'm just abjectly relieved.
MEDIOCRE news, as much as I don't want to do it the prices are going up a little. For those of you doing the book club tier on my patreon, you're good, nothing should change for y'all and you'll still get your books as they come out.
TIME SENSITIVE news, I'm running the very last book bundle sale I'll be able to do for the foreseeable future, to clear out the last of the old stock and cushion the impact of the next book order! Right now I only have two of each special left, so if you want those with the discount get in there quick. The listing is here.
Part of why this sale is happening Right This Second is, holy shit, oh my god, a comic shop is FINALLY letting me into the local section! I've been shot down by every other place I've tried across three states so far, so if you'd like to go see the only place I've encountered that's really earning its Queer/ACAB/Indie Artist Support cred, go check out Danny the Comic Shop in Denver! It JUST opened in July so it's still getting its momentum going, but the owner is probably the most earnest Comic Shop Guy I've ever met. I have a lot to say about this place in a different post, but for now: hopefully you'll be able to grab some Kidd Commander stuff in there by the end of next week. Cliff is understandably allergic to social media so I wanna help him out when I can; HIS shop's website is here, and the instagram is @dannythecomicshop.
Thank you very much!

Going gold | Yuri P.
Chapter 4, the bet | TW language
I woke up to my alarms like usual. I stood up from under my covers and put on some leggings and one of the new shirts I had bought while shopping with Yuri yesterday. I pulled back my hair and walked downstairs to see Yuri making a pancake. He put syrup on it and sat down, it was then that I realized he was wearing an apron. I looked over and he saw me and almost flipped out. His face turned bright red and he started frantically trying to untie the knots that held the apron together. I burst out with hysterical laughter and he got so angry I thought he was going to burst.
"STOP LAUGHING ITS NOT FUNNY YOU PIECE OF SHIT" he yelled but that only encouraged my laughter.
I finally calmed down and started apologizing to him but he just huffed and turned away. I stood up and got out a box of cereal from the cabinet along with some milk from the fridge. I sat down and ate. A few minutes later I finished and put my bowl into the sink. I started walking towards the ballet studio and Yuri followed behind me. We started our stretching and then it was hell, like always. After a very long and traumatic class we finally finished four hours later. While I was drinking water yakov walked in the door holding papers in his hand. Yuri and I looked at each other and we both knew they were the grand prix assignments. Yakov walked over and said "these are your assignments for this season."
"Y/N you will be at the Rostelecom cup, Trophée Laliquel, and skate America" yakov said looking at me.
I'll be going to the US and France! Now Im excited. "Yuri your assignments are the Rostelecom cup, Trophée Laliquel, and skate Canada. And hopefully you will both be going to Italy for the final." yakov said.
Yuri and I have two competitions in common, at least I won't be alone.
"This will be a breeze I could win this with my eyes closed" Yuri said very confidently which angered me.
"How are you so sure? I could probably get higher scores than you ever could" I said.
"Oh yeah? Well I bet I could place first in every event" he added.
"Is that a challenge?"
"Sure, like you could win anyway"
"Alright fine, the person who gets the most gold medals wins and the loser had to do whatever the winner wants" I said proudly.
"Ok bet" he said turning around and walking away.
This bitch was going doooown.
I was going to win no matter the cost. I got my bag and told yakov I was going out for a while. I think he knew that I was going skating but didn't really care. I walked out of the door and raced down the streets, I want to get in the most amount of practice time I can. The first competition we had was the Trophèe Laliquel which was in a week. I burst open the ice rink doors and throw my stuff down onto the floor infront of the benches. I unzipped my bag and took out my skates. I quickly laced them up, and then I was out on the ice. I hooked my phone up to the Bluetooth speakers and started my short program, I put as much effort as I could into it and finished it. I fixed all the things Yakov told me to fix and my program felt a lot smoother. When the music stopped I skated over to the side and grabbed my water bottle.
I felt nervous, scared almost.
I know Yuris a better skater than me, he's been doing it longer than I have and I don't know why I made that stupid bet. But I still have to try, I can't loose to him or he's never gonna let me live it down.
I took a deep breath and got back to practicing. I did my free program and it went just as smoothly as my short. I decided to take a small break and eat a snack. I grabbed my water bottle and skated off the ice. I was looking down at my phone when I tripped over my toe pick and fell flat on my face. I heard someone hysterically laughing. I immediately shot up from the floor and saw it was Yuri.
"SHUT UP" I screamed.
That only encouraged him, so I pushed him onto the bleachers. His face turned beet red within seconds, and he finally shut up. I didn't realize how close my face was to his and my face stated to heat up as well.
"Sorry..." I said sheepishly letting go of him.
"It's fine.." he replied awkwardly, and still quite flustered.
"Anyway I wanted to ask if you maybe wanted to watch a movie tonight? However that was before you decided to JUMP on me" He asked, getting slightly annoyed.
I stood up and then sat down on the bleachers next to him.
"I'm sorry! and yeah I'll watch a movie with you." I replied as my cheeks flushed a slight shade of pink at the thought.
We sat next to each other in an awkward silence
"What movie are we going to watch?" I asked
"I don't know, do you have anything in mind?"
"Ooo we could watch Dirty dancing!"
"What is that"
"It's a romance movie about this girl and guy who come from like different back, it's really good"
"Sounds cliche" he added
"Yeah but it's good" I argued
"Whatever" he said getting up and walking onto the ice.
I left my skates on the bench and headed up to the upstairs ballet studio for some off ice training. I connected my phone to the speakers and started stretching, but I couldn't help but stare out the window looking down onto the ice. Yuri was doing his program and he once again looked so beautiful. I continued my stretches but it was no use because I couldn't pull myself away from him. I decided to get myself together and I started practicing my triple and quad jumps. I cant get distracted from my ultimate goal, beating Yuri.

20 questions for fic writers
Hi, friends! I was tagged by the forever-incredible @ladyvader23- thanks for the tag, my friend!
1. How many works do you have on A03?
I have 12 works and counting!
2. What's your total A03 word count?
67,866 words (woah! More than I realized!)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I write primarily for Star Wars, but also write for Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and believe it or not, the Simpsons! Sideshow Bob sparked something in my bestie and I that kicked off a year of non-stop Google Doc sharing and squee comments on each other's works XD
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Grounded (578)
L & V One Shots & Ficlets (554)
Convalescence (278)
Tortured Soul (191)
Come With Me (159)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I sure do! I always try to respond with a least a "omg thank you!!!" or something of the like to show my appreciation. I wish I could go more in-depth for them all, and I do for the really long ones, but I end up not always having the time or energy to pay each comment the response it deserves. As always, thank you to everyone who has commented on my stuff!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
It's actually one I haven't posted yet (nor finished, and that's one I def want to be done before I post it). To give you context without too many spoilers, basically it's an alternate ending to ROTJ in which Vader doesn't die...but Luke does. I've been writing it on and off since my freshman year of high school and am excited about it, but damn, it's so hard to write because it makes me so sad!
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Grounded! That was the first one I ever posted (during my first week of senior year of high school!) I feel like that one wrapped up nicely.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Once in a great while. Most of the hate comments I receive are digs on my characterization of Vader. One time I got a negative comment on a oneshot that I specified was part of a larger story I would recommend reading beforehand, and the commenter didn't understand why Vader was written the way he was, when in actuality, it had a lot to do with his development in the larger story. That one was a detailed hate comment and was hard to shake, but I'm learning how to let them roll off my back.
On a side note, this is partly why I don't ask for constructive criticism; I have OCD and fixate on even little comments people make that could possibly be construed as negative, real life included. I'm working on how to let them go and look at the facts before I run off with some wild tale about how someone hates me for sure. I'm growing and learning how to manage, but like I said in my AO3 A/Ns, OCD is a bitch ;)
9. Do you write smut?
Sure do XD It's pretty much all Skysolo (which you will see in an upcoming Skysolo story I'm almost done with *wink wink* ;))
10. Do you write crossovers?
I haven't before, but I'm entertaining the idea of some kind of Star Wars/Harry Potter type thing. To be completely honest, it's inspired by the Sims I made in Sims 4 lol XD. I had my HP Sims meet my Star Wars Sims and it was so funny to see how they all interacted. Luna immediately grabbed a book off of Leia's bookshelf, Anakin began cooking dinner, and Harry and Luke were talking privately in a separate room from the group- I like to imagine they were talking about how hard it is to be "the hero" and have the world literally depending on you. If I do end up writing this, I'll be sure to post XD *cue Spongebob's "when worlds collide" lol*
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, so hopefully that answer is no.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but would be open to working with someone to translate!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! Nothing I've posted, but I co-write Simpsons stuff with my real life bestie. Sideshow Bob has us in a chokehold XD
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I love Skysolo and always will, but I think Finnick and Annie from Hunger Games takes the cake for me. I could go on, but the way they've both been through similar trauma and care for one another gets me big time. And Finnick is one of my all-time favorite characters, so I'm a little bias XD
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Tbh, both of my Whumptobers lol. I bit off more than I could chew both years between that and school, work, life. Hopefully I'll plan a little better this year and will be able to finish!
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write hurt/comfort well, and it sounds weird, but I write crying pretty well too lol. I think I'm getting better at imagery and sentence structure too.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I struggle with writing action, and I tend to write run-on sentences. I'm hoping to work on this for future fics!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I haven't done this personally, but I have a lot of respect for others who do. I think it's wild people can speak a whole other language period, but using that language in all its differences stylistically to tell a story? Absolutley amazing.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Hunger Games! I wrote Finnick becoming like a big brother for Prim after the war (flash back to me furiously typing out hurt/comfort scenes on my ipod notes in middle school LOL XD)
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I have a special place in my heart for Convalescence; I live for that kind of hurt/comfort and angst, and I'm excited to finish it.
Thanks for reading if you did! I'll tag @spell-cleaver and @starr234, but don't feel obligated if this doesn't interest you!
May the Force be with you, friends!!!

Zuzu's Bug-ventures: Home Edition!
I'm so behind on identifying these, but most of them were from last week. Some I've already posted on their own, but I thought I would add them to the week's collection.
Bronzed cutworm moth (Nephelodes minians). I don't think I've ever looked up what moths look like when they're mating, but I guess this is it!
Eastern harvestman (Leiobunum vittatum). Found it on the porch and honestly thought it was dead. It disappeared by the evening, so either it wasn't dead, or something grabbed it
Western honey bee (Apis mellifera). Always a welcome sight
Eastern yellowjacket (Vespula maculifrons). All these directions!
Four-lined silverfish (Ctenolepisma lineatum). Without fail, these guys are always in the sink after you come back from a trip
Unsure of ID. Possibly a huntsman spider of some kind. It was pretty big and very dead
Small grass skipper butterfly (Atalopedes campestris). After 50000 blurry skipper photos, one of them finally decided to let me get a good one
Peck's skipper butterfly (Polites peckius). There were so many different kinds of skippers out and about!
Silver-spotted skipper butterfly (Epargyreus clarus). Action shot, but it was just the right angle to see identify it as a silver-spotted one
Small grass skipper butterfly (Atalopedes campestris). Yes, a second one. But it looks different enough from the first that I thought I would post it. And we're done with the skippers now, I promise (at least for this post)
Unsure of ID, but it's definitely the underside of a jumping spider
Flea jumping spider (naphrys pulex). These are so cute. They're my favorite jumping spider at this point
Eastern carpenter bee (Xylocopa virginica). I have no idea how my phone was able to accomplish this one. Perfect bee. Gorgeous. No notes
Unsure of ID. NO idea. I know it's hard to see, but this extremely tiny spider made an incredible web
Dusky Stink Bug (Euschistus tristigmus). Just a guy. It was funny because my dad was like "look! there's a cool bug on my car for your collection!" and I had to tell him that it was just a stink bug
Unsure of ID. Possibly a plant bug (Megaloceroea recticornis).
Varied carpet beetle larva (Anthrenus verbasci). This was on my wall. Hopefully it was the only one!
Unsure of ID. Possibly Alebra aurea, which is a type of leafhopper.
Giant crane fly (Nephrotoma ferruginea). This one is super dead, but you can see my pictures of it doing alive stuff here.
Unsure of ID. I'm thinking just a curled up millipede
Winter ant (Prenolepis imparis). I was ready to ignore this thinking it was an ant I've seen before a zillion times. But looking closer, it's really pretty! Apparently they're usually active in the winter/cold weather, so I'm not sure what this guy was doing hanging around when it was late September and 68 degrees.
Minettia magna. Can't find the common name. The internet's just calling it a fly
Unsure of ID. Red velvet mite? Clover mite? I used to be fascinated by these little guys as a kid
Pennsylvania ground beetle (Harpalus pensylvanicus). I mean, it do be hanging out in Pennsylvania, I'll give it that. I saved this one after I saw it crawl under a recliner in my parents' house
Unsure of ID. Something in the Anthidium genus. This one is dead, hanging by a single leg stuck to a flower bud.
Long-bodied cellar spider (Pholcus phalangioides). They're ridiculously cute. Also I've never seen one not upside down lol.
Citrus flatid planthopper (Metcalfa pruinosa). This was my favorite (and cutest) find of the week! I thought it was a tiny bird poop, but thought I saw legs, so I zoomed in with my phone and caught this little fella! Incredible, incredible.
So there you have it for last week! In order to stop myself from getting frustrated at the lack of quality in my photos, I decided my main goal is not to take gorgeous bug photos, but instead to try and take the best photos I can with the shittiest phone camera. And I think I've done a pretty good job of testing the limits of this thing!

falling in love with a single mom hcs
INCLUDES: nishinoya, tsukishima, yaku
you spent a good part of your childhood with nishinoya, chasing away the dogs that had a penchant of scaring your best friend shitless, climbing trees and playing treasure hunt
it was funny, to say the least, seeing how he grew from such a scaredy-cat to the energetic and confident noya everyone knows
throughout highschool you watched him chase girl after girl and he watched you turn down guy after guy
the dynamic you two had was that of a feral gremlin child and its chill owner holding the leash and everyone, including you two, thought you would always be together
everyday was fun with nishinoya's energy hanging around you, no doubt
but when he asked you to travel the world with him right after graduation, he was met with a hesitant refusal
"i'm planning to go to college, yuu"
"it'll be fun, y/n! like going on an adventure!!"
"visit me once in a while"
his heart clenched at the way you smiled at him with teary eyes, "i can't change your mind can i?"
with a soft shake of your head, he sighed
he leaves in three days
the first few months of him being away were filled with calls and pictures of his trips, smile seemingly wider and brighter than before and a part of you regretted not coming with him
but college starts in a week, and with that came missed calls and ignored messages
at some point, neither of you just remembered to hit the other up, caught up with the stresses of your own life and before either of you knew it, 5 years have passed
he came to visit home for the first time in years, no longer the boyish noya you knew but he still had that warm aura around him
you were the first thought to come to mind the moment he step foot in town, his whole body buzzing with excitement at the mere thought of seeing you again
so of course he went straight to your house, feet taking step after memorized step and hands clutching bags of things he got from his travels
"Y/N!!!!!", he calls out as he enters your house which was answered with a harsh shushing
turning a corner he saw you in the living room, lovely as ever-- he thought, and with a baby sleeping soundly in your arms, "the baby's sleeping, yuu"
"whose...?"
you laughed at the cracking in his voice, "mine, who else's?"
man, he looked like he was about to cry
he quietly approached you, careful as to not wake the baby
"for you", he mumbled while handing you the bag of snacks and stuff
the room was filled with silence after you hummed a short thanks
he was looking at the child's face, it looked like you, he thinks
he asked when you got married, "you didn't tell me, didn't even invite your best friend to your wedding", he whined
"i didn't, i'm not married"
his eyes were wide as they looked at you
you told him about getting pregnant shortly after college graduation and getting ditched
he thought of himself selfish as he heaved a sigh of relief
"it's fine though, my parents are helping me a lot", he notes how you looked at your baby with such fond eyes and his heart swelled, he felt like crying
you chuckled at the look on his face, "hey don't look so sorry for me, can't be happier to have her"
"what's her name?"
you looked at your daughter's face and pet at her cheek with a finger, "yui"
nishinoya couldn't hold it in anymore and so he let himself cry and pulled you close
and for the nth time since the day of your college graduation he asked you again, "come with me, y/n, let's travel the world" but you have a child "i'll stay with you here until she's old enough", he said while kissing the tears that slipped down your cheeks
"then we can all go travel the world together"
he liked working at the museum, he really does
at least that's what he tries to tell himself as he led the group of preschoolers through the sendai museum
they were cute, yeah, but also very chatty
especially this one little boy with the frog hat
"what's this called?"
"it's a fossilized remain of--"
"how about this one?"
"it's--", and before he could answer, the child was already running to the other side of the exhibit
he just sighs
the tour ended and he was getting ready for his lunch break, proceeding to the cafe by the entrance as he always does
his eyes almost caught the flurry of green that passed beside him but he chose to ignore it
but of course it wasn't long after he sat down with his order when he heard a familiar bubbly voice
"mama that's the dinosaur guy!", he heard the little boy whisper loudly, "he's so tall, like a brachiosaurus!"
he couldn't supress the chuckle at the child's remark and he turned in his seat, "so you were listening, i thought you were just bouncing all around the place"
"oh sorry, did he give you a hard time?"
your voice drew his attention and he smiled at the sight of your worried face, something that surprised even him, "not really, no"
he invited you two to sit and eat with him and he listened to your son ramble all about dinosaurs and prehistoric animals
"a smart one, i like him"
your son really liked him too and asked you to take him to the museum again and see tsukishima
and so it became a habit for you to visit the museum every friday with the little boy, waiting for the tall blonde to get off work so you three could grab something to eat
and every time he sees you in the little cafe by the entrancne with your son, tsukishima couldn't help but smile a little and pat at his chest to calm the subtle fluttering as he push the door open
it was a weird feeling he never knew would come so naturally at the mere sight of you two
he bought your son picture books and and figurines and copies of the "walking with dinosaurs" documentary
"we should watch it this weekend..." his eyebrows shot up for a moment at your meek suggestion
of course the little boy was elated, excited to have him over at your house "yes! let's go now! i wanna watch it with tsukki now!!!"
tsukishima returned his gaze on you, "if it's not too much trouble then i'd love to go now"
and so the rest of the friday night was spent on your couch with all the lights turned off and a narration of al the allosaurus' life
you looked over at the other side of the couch to see your son laying on tsukishima, eyes fluttering shut with the man passed out and lightly snoring
he must've been tired
you draped a blanket over the two of them and waited for sleep to visit you too and it soon did
morning came and you woke up to the smell of coffee
"i borrowed your coffee maker, i hope you don't mind", his voice was still low, trying not to wake the little boy
"yeah, sorry i didn't wake you up last night... you looked tired"
he chuckled as you walked over to the kitchen to take out two mugs and prepared some toast, "i don't mind, it was the best sleep i've gotten in a while. i hope it wasn't too much of a bother for you though"
you leaned on the kitchen counter as you took in his appearance; hair ruffled and eyes puffy with sleep, "i don't mind it one bit"
he huffed a laugh and looked over to the sofa where your son still laid
"he likes you a lot"
"so it seems, i hope you do too", his face was smug but you didn't miss the red that tinted his cheeks when you told him "of course i do, in fact i was thinking maybe we should do this more often"
his smirk grew, "just say you want to wake up everyday to the sight of me and leave it at that"
you rolled your eyes at his comment but smiled nonetheless, "oh shut up"
he had just come back from the nekoma volleyball team reunion, head lightly buzzing from the few bottles of alcohol kuroo forced down his throat
making his way through the carpeted hotel hall, he could barely make out the sound of little feet hurriedly padding on the floor and quiet sniffles
taking out the keycard to his room with the blissful thoughts of finally sinking into the soft mattress was interrupted by a soft bump on his thigh, a muffled thud and a small "ow..."
it took a few moments before the sight of the little boy on the hotel floor registered properly in his brain
it was well past 2 am... why the hell is there a child running around the halls
"uh... hi?"
big bright eyes looked up at him and he can't help but sigh at the sniffles increasingly growing louder
"where's your mama, little guy?", yaku crouched to the little boy's level, careful to keep his balance as the booze and exhaustion was catching up to him
however, at the mention of his mother, the little boy's eye filled up with more tears and was ready to burst anytime, "mama..."
"oh no no no no"
yaku's too tired for this
so with a sigh and a groan, he took the boy in his arms and entered his room
"let's look for her in the morning, okay? i think i still have some cookies in my room, would like some?"
the little boy nods his head, earning a relieved sigh from yaku
the rest of the night was spent with cartoons playing on the large hotel room tv, yaku leaning against the headboard with the little boy snoozing away while being tucked in his arm, cookie on his hand and crumbs all around
morning came and panic surged through your body the moment you realized your 3 year-old son was nowhere inside your hotel room
your hurried to the security desk to report and hopefully make an announcement, head reeling and aching with the sudden rush of adrenaline first thing in the morning
with your head in your hands, you let out a groan while trying not to cry at all the possibilites flashing through your mind
your wallowing was cut short with an "excuse me, i found this child last night"
turning your head back to the security desk, you see a man in his pajamas and slippers, hair ruffled from sleep and a sleepy little boy laying on his shoulder
"oh my god"
the whole conlict ended when you came up to them and introduced yourself, the little boy quickly recognizing your voice and whipped his head over to you, "mama!"
your son reached out for you and yaku couldn't help but notice how pretty your glossy eyes were despite how disheveled you looked
"mama, yakkun gave me cookies and we watched cartoons aaaaall night!"
yaku's eyes widened at the little boy's words and let out a nervous chuckle, "you make me sound so suspicious"
he turned to you and explained how your son bumped into him at 2 am and he was just too tired to bring him down to the security desk
"my tired tipsy brain thought it was a better idea to just let him sleep in my room and look for mama in the morning", he ended with the tips of his ears tinged red
you laughed at his nervousness, "well we can talk more about it over breakfast, what do you say yakkun? my treat"
with the way you were smiling at him, how could he even refuse?
the rest of the morning was spent with coffee and waffles, juice and fruits and chatter
he learned you and your son were in town for a few days, "i wanted to go see the fishies in the aquarium!", the little boy quips
with the new volleyball season just around the corner, yaku knew he'd have practices but he offered to tour you two around tokyo
he wanted to see you two again
briefly taking care of the toddler last night and having breakfast with you, he realized, were very much a welcomed change of pace in his hectic pro volleyball life
"are you my dad? mama told me daddy was working in tokyo" he remembered your son quietly mumbling last night, "i haven't seen him though, not ever"
the rest of your stay in tokyo was spent hanging out with yaku, your son growing more and more attached to him and slept over at his room every night
as promised, he took you and your son on a tokyo tour and even brought you to practice, introducing you to the national team and teaching your child receives
of course your trip eventually reached its end, promises of meeting again drowned in the little boy's tears as he tried to reach out to yaku
"we'll meet again, little guy", he says while ruffling the boy's hair, "i'll even go visit you and we'll play lots, okay?
of course he made a point of contacting you frequently, often video chatting during meal times and bedtime and a few more hours after, relishing in the time he could spend talking alone with you
"i can't wait to see you two again", he always says right after "good night"

Summary: Alex regrets ever saying yes. All he wants is a second chance.
Trigger warning: Mentions of cheating, mentions of sex, swearing, angst
Author's note: my first piece off hiatus !! - you're a twitch streamer in this fic but it won't come up too much :) hope u like it <3
Based on: Break My Heart Again - FINNEAS
you sigh. your ex-boyfriend called again. you've been ignoring your phone for 5 minutes now. was he really this desperate?
you pick up your phone and slide the green button.
"what do you want, alex?"
"___, you picked up!"
he sounded extremely relieved, like he needs you to breathe.
"i did, now what do you want?"
alex sighed and leaned on a wall in his bedroom.
"can i come over? there's some stuff i still need to pick up."
you suck in a breath sharply. the air is thick and tense.
"no."
you clench the phone you were holding and bit your lip.
"i don't want to see you right now."
alex closed his eyes and pushed himself off the wall.
"i understand, you need time."
there was silence for a moment. neither of you wanted to say anything.
"if you want to come over that bad you can get your things tomorrow morning."
"sounds good. i'll be there around 11, okay?"
"fine."
"good-"
you ended the call.
"-bye..."
alex let his arm drop beside him. his eyes were watering, but he wiped it away with the sleeve of his hoodie.
it's his fault, he knew. but why is he still so upset? he shouldn't feel like this - it's is his own doing, after all.
~
you open the door to your home. alex was standing on the porch with a few empty bags in hand. the morning sun blinded you slightly, making you squint at the man in front of you.
"hi ___."
"hello, alex. all your belongings are on the couch.
"great, thank you."
~
he looks over as he's folding a shirt.
"what are you looking at?"
you say without looking away from your laptop.
his face was getting red slightly from embarrassment.
"nothing, you seem busy."
alex directed his eyes back to the clothes in front of him.
"otherwise you would've said something about me."
alex snickered slightly, trying to lighten the mood.
you sigh, holding your face in one of your hands.
don't say it. ___, keep it in. there's no point in fighting him. ___-
"if i wanted to make a comment it'd be about the fact you can't keep your dick in your pants."
god damn it, why did you do that?
he fell quiet. you hated his guts, but even you felt kind of bad for being so blunt with it.
a part of you still loved him. his loud, yet charming laugh. his sweet kisses. his adorable clinginess. his blushing face when you teased him.
you shake your head, trying to physically get rid of your pity for him. he doesn't love you anymore. he shouldn't, and neither should you.
~
after filling the bags with alex's belongings he stood up and wiped his forehead. you waver from your work and look him up and down.
"you done?"
you asked him. he turned around and gave you a weak smile.
"yeah, i think so."
"good, you know the way out."
you turn back to your computer.
"___, wait. can i ask you something?"
you make eye contact with him, fully aware it makes him nervous.
"what do you want?"
alex took a quick breath.
"can we talk sometime?"
you look at him like he spoke an alien tongue.
"why the hell would i?"
"i want to talk about what happened between us. i hate that our relationship is so sour."
he set a step forward.
"i just want this to end peaceful - or at least neutral."
"why the fuck would i want to be peaceful with you of all people?"
"i hate ending things on the wrong foot, you know that."
alex stands his ground, making you livid.
"then we make up, and then what? you'll just break my heart again!"
you stand up, simultaneously pushing the chair away with your legs.
"then i can lay awake and think about why i even let you inside my house again in the first place?!"
if looks could kill, alex would be on the floor.
"fine. if you don't want to, then i guess everything will just stay the way it is."
alex turned around and grabbed his bags. there's no way he's getting through to you right now.
"oh, so now it's my fault?"
you slam your laptop and walk away from the table.
"well, i'm so sorry for being angry at you for cheating on me!"
you don't hold your anger in anymore, he crossed the line.
"i never said that, ___!"
alex yelled to match your energy.
you took a step back. the audacity to yell at you in your house.
"out. now."
alex grabbed the second bag of clothes and without a word walked to the front door.
"goodbye, ___."
alex pushes the door open and steps outside. you go after him but stop at the doorstep.
"fuck you!" you sob out. you grab the doorknob and slam the door shut.
your knees slowly got weaker and you sit against the front door, shutting your eyes.
~
it's been a month since you've seen alex. you've blocked him on everything since then.
you were doing a q&a on your twitch channel and everything was going well. chat was filled with questions and you answered the one's you could.
your thoughts were somewhere else, though.
you still miss him, you really did. alex used to watch your streams all the time. he sent you donations with cheesy pick-up lines, he called you during streams to make fun of you for dying in a game or just to chat while he's bored.
but that didn't happen anymore.
you realize you haven't said anything in a while and you apologize. your chat was spamming purple hearts and 'are you okay?'
"ah, sorry everyone, i'm still tired from yesterday. i think i'm going to end the stream for today, thank you all for coming!"
after saying goodbye you turn off your computer.
why are you still so obsessed over him?! he cheated on you! he even tried to cover it up with a bullshit story about "not being the first to kiss her," and "she forced me to," like someone would believe a lie like that.
yet, you still love him. something inside you wants to believe him, like he really was telling the truth.
~
the next morning you open twitter and scroll for a bit. you made a tweet earlier in which you stated you weren't going to stream today.
you looked at the trending topics and saw your name in bold letters. you clicked on it and read the first tweet that popped up.
'i really hope ___ is doing better, they looked so sad on stream :('
an image was attached to it - a screenshot from the stream you did yesterday where you were mindlessly staring at your computer screen.
you sighed. at least they're not thinking too deep about this.
you scroll further down, replying and liking a couple tweets saying you were alright, thanking them or cracking a joke. this should keep them off your back for a while.
after scrolling for a bit one tweet catches your eye. you clutch your phone as you read the comment.
'kinda obvious they miss quackity :/ it's a good cover-up story tho '
~
alex was staring at his ceiling. he'd seen the tweets about you - about him.
he hates this feeling. he hates the fact that he knows what you're thinking. he hates that he knows it's his fault. he didn't mean to. he didn't.
"come on, alex. you know you want it." the woman said.
"i told you, no! i have a partner!" alex pushed her away for the second time, trying to find a way past the girl and out of this small alleyway. he should've never gone to this stupid bar.
"tch, whatever. but know you'll regret rejecting someone like me!" the girl pushed him to the brick wall and fixed her dress as she walked away.
alex fixed himself for a minute and walked past the bar and into his car. he pulled out his phone and shot you a quick text.
'hey bb i'll be over in a few :)'
'don't come back.'
you responded almost immediately. alex froze as he looked at the screen.
'wdym?'
'you know damn well why'
you sent him a photo of him next to the bar in the alley. the girl was all over him while her lips connected lustfully to his.
'it isn't what it looks like, i didn't start any of this!'
you don't respond. alex tries to send you another text when an error pops up.
'unable to send message. user has blocked you.'
~
you hover your hand over your phone's keyboard. you thought anbout alex's offer to talk, and decided that maybe it was a good idea after all. you couldn't get your mind off him, you thought that hopefully getting some closure could help.
but how were you going to ask him? 'hey, i know i blocked number like a month ago but can you to meet me at some random park? see you there!'
after typing and deleting multiple texts you eventually landed on a message.
'hey alex, i've been thinking about your offer to talk it out, and i wanted to ask if you're still up for it?'
you send it and immediately turn off your phone and place it on the coffeetable in front of you. you did it, finally. you fall back on your couch and pull your knees up to your face, waiting for a notification.
after a nailbiting five minutes a light emits from your phone. you pick it up and read the name calling you. 'alex'. you take a deep breath and answer the phone.
"hi alex."
"hey ___, it's been a while."
you sit up straight, preparing yourself for the conversation you're about to have.
'yeah, you can say that."
the atmosphere was a lot less tense than you expected. it was weirdly... comforting? you can hear alex's raspy voice through the phone. has he been crying?
"i saw your text, you wanted to meet?"
"yes, i did. i wanted to get some closure, at least."
alex chuckled, his laugh making you a little flustered. trying to brush it off, you laugh with him.
"what's so funny?" alex asked.
you rolled your eyes and smile.
"you, dumbass."
he gasps cartoonishly loud. his goofy personality is something you could never get enough of. maybe you were wrong after all.
"ok, but seriously, when do you want to meet?"
he gets back on topic. you snap out of your smile and remember why he called in the first place.
"right, right. i'm free this whole week, you can choose when."
after some planning and back and forth, you decide to meet at a small family-run café in the afternoon. coincidentally, it's the same place you two had your first date.
~
you settle down at a table on the terrace of the café, the sunday sun greeting you warmly. you were a little early, so you decided to think of some questions. it didn't take you long to come to a few, though. your main question was the photo. what was that all about?
as you were handed a menu you saw alex walking on the pavement fidgeting with his fingers.
"hey! sorry if i'm late, i took the bus instead of my car."
he took the seat parallel to yours and exhaled.
"oh no, you're right on time. i was just a little early."
the waitress gave alex a menu and disappeared into the establishment. you both decided to stay quiet before getting on topic. neither of you want to start the conversation.
after both ordering and having surface level conversation for a while silence fell. you both know why you're here, it feels off to talk like nothing ever happened.
"okay-"
"so-"
you both start at the same time. alex awkwardly chuckles while covering his mouth.
"you first."
alex proposes. you nod and like magic lose the somewhat content mood you had prior. you steadily breathe in and pull out your phone.
"so, first things first; my main goal is to get closure and an explanation - there's no point in lying to me."
alex hums in agreement. you could tell he was nervous, you knew him better than anyone. you tap on your screen a few times until you reach the photo that was sent to you.
"now, i want a clear answer. what happened that night?"
you ask him firmly as you put your phone on the table to reveal the image.
"that's my ex-girlfriend."
alex said. you raise an eyebrow - his ex? you've heard some wild things about her and her antics, which is exactly why alex broke up with her in the first place.
"she said she wanted to ask me something in private. my dumbass said yes, because i can't pick up on context clues, apparently."
you cross your arms and lean back on the chair.
"you got that right."
alex looks up from the photo and makes eye contact with you.
"long story short, she pushed me to the wall and kissed me. i tried to push her off but she didn't let me go. after shoving her, like, twice she finally got the hint and left."
~
"so she set you up?"
"she hasn't changed a bit since all those years."
you say with a hint of condescension. his explanation made sense, and from what you heard he wasn't lying. your gut told you to believe him, yet your mind had an itching feeling that there was something else.
"are you sure that's all?"
alex flinched slightly.
"y-yes, ___. i don't know what else to tell you."
you mess with your hair a bit, clearly conflicted. there was nothing else, you knew that. but your brain wouldn't let it go. you decided it's better if you just sleep on it.
"alright, then.-"
you grab your bag and stand up.
"-i think we're done here."
alex stays seated and looks up at you.
"yeah, i think so."
you pick the phone up that's laying on the table. you pull out your wallet and put a $5 bill under your teacup.
"goodbye, alex."
"wait!"
alex stands up and grabs your wrist, the gesture scaring you little bit.
"are you still mad at me?"
those eyes. they're so pretty, almost sparlking. you snap out of it when he lets go, just realizing how weird it is to grab someone's arm out of nowhere.
"sorry, my bad. i wasn't thinking."
alex scratches the back of his neck.
"i'm still deciding if i can trust you, but i appreciate you showing up, at least."
"that's enough for me."
alex smile at you, not trying to pry.
"goodbye, ___."
"goodbye, alex."
~
you heard the chirping of the birds outside your window and groan. why is it already morning? you sit up and grab your phone from the nightstand next to your bed, the phone reading 11:23 - tuesday - xx-xx-xxxx.
you sigh and fall back onto your bed. you've been thinking about alex for a few days now, still not getting him out of your head.
after going downstairs and eating some toast you pull out your phone again, the clock now reading 12:44. you look through your contacts and eventually land on his name.
you hover your hand over the green pixels while sitting down at the dining table. you swallow audibly and click the call button.
it goes once.
it goes twice.
"___?"
'Hey alex, i wanted to ask you if you wanted to meet up again?"

Oh hi there! Fancy seeing you here!
So, fun idea...
Farmers market! Season? Whatever you like!
What does Levi buy and want and what does he avoid?
What does Jean buy and want and what does he avoid?
Helloooooo <3
Market season! My favorite! Funny, there's something else like this in my ask box, so I'll get to talk about it more hehe YAY!
For me in hot Florida weather there is in fact market season, I won't go in summer. For this however I would not be living in such a humid place haha
Alright, Levi and I are ready to goooo! We do a once around the entire market to see which of our favorite vendors are there, and go early so we can hopefully beat the crowd. We bring a small 2 wheel cart with us too, to put our stuff in :)
Fresh produce is a must! Apples, pears and oranges are always on the list the first time out. I go for the cut pineapple but Levi won't let me and gets a whole one and says he'll cut it up! We get a rainbow of bell peppers cause green is my favorite but he likes yellow and orange. They're good for stuffing and in salads! Tomatoes, cucumber, and butternut squash! He'll cut that too!
He tries to keep me from the dried fruit but I find it anyway. He says it's too sugary (he's right) but I do grabbed dried pears and stick with seeds and nuts. Somehow dried beets end up in our cart too? Hmm.
We do allow ourselves to get some bread too. Either a loaf or a dozen rolls depending on what we want that week. We don't get too many baked goods since we can make them, but sometimes if one of us is hungry we'll get a fruit pastry to hold us over. Otherwise we skip most of the ready to eat foods so we don't waste what we bought.
We look around at other things but don't need much so though we like things, try not to overspend. Sometimes we'll get a new plant for the garden. We like flowers and herbs and replenish some of the easier produce we try to grow.
Skips otherwise are things like dried pastas and cheeses. We don't do much of those. Unfortunately lots of the crafts too. They're very nice but we don't usually need them?
We did by a handcrafted cutting board last season though, it's holding up nice, so at some point we'll see what they're selling this year.
Then there's Jean. He gets ALL the fruit! And some veggies. He's not too picky but loves mushrooms (whereas I do not, which is fine). He's always buying lemons, zucchini and ginger for dishes. One thing he is not a fan of is eggplant.
I also see us having a garden, just with mainly produce and way less flowers. We generally skip the succulents area, unless he buys me flowers :)
He's different here because he does like snacking on dried fruit, or making his own trail mix, and sometimes overspends on it. Pineapple, mango, cashews, etc. But it's only once in a while so it's okay. Annnnd yes to the dried pasta. Also, honey!
He's always buying hats too?! Straw hats, he must have twenty, but he swears this one is different from the last one. He skips things like artwork though unless we're looking for a gift.
Well, there's more I could include HAHA but I think that'll give the general idea!

worth the wait [five] // daisy johnson
summary: the longer Daisy spends with you, the more you realise that maybe nine years isn't enough time to get over her.
warning/s: mentions of PTSD.
author's note: this is the final part, but it was a little long so i’ve put it into two posts. hopefully the daisy stans appreciated it 😊
part one | part two | part three | part four | part six | masterlist | wattpad
I woke with a start, immediately feeling my hair sticking to the nape of my neck and the need to shake off my duvet.
The fear of my nightmare still implanted in the pit of my stomach made me reach for my bedside lamp. I half expected someone to grab my hand in the dark, my imagination working overtime to scare the living hell out of me, but nothing happened except for the lamp turning on.
I sat up in bed and took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. It was just a dream, nothing real. And I knew that, logically, since I was in my childhood bedroom instead of a dark torture chamber. Yet I couldn't stop crying and imagining the worst.
It was getting worse – the nightmares, the anxiety, the nausea. Ever since Daisy and my mum had told me to see a therapist, I knew it was getting worse, but I still hadn't done anything about it. Clearly, things had to change.
Barely thinking about, I found myself grabbing my phone and dialling Daisy's number. I hadn't spoken to her since she came over, and it was my fault things had been left on a bad note. That was only last week and I felt like an idiot as I heard the phone ringing.
"Hello?" her groggy voice came through, and I immediately felt bad.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I tried to silence my heavy breathing. "Hey, Daisy. It's, er, it's Y/N. I'm sorry, I– I didn't mean to wake you. I–"
"Y/N?" she asked, voice laced with fatigue and confusion. "Are you okay? What is it? Where are you?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you," I said quickly, trying to maintain my shakiness. I brought my legs up to my chest and wrapped an arm around them tightly. "I'm at home. I just–" I flinched, closing my eyes. "I'm sorry, did I wake you? My parents gave me your number and I– I didn't know what else to do–"
"You don't need to apologise," she cut me off, wakening up a little by the sounds of it. "I'm glad you called. What's wrong?"
I smiled dryly, wiping away at my tears. "I, er, you were right about me. I should have–" I breathed out deeply. "I need to talk to someone about... yeah. But right now I... I can't go back to sleep."
"Do you want me to come over? I'm not far and–"
"No, no!" I said quickly, slightly embarrassed. "You don't need to– it's the middle of the night. I just– I don't know what I was expecting. I just didn't want to be alone and I didn't wanna wake my parents and worry them."
"Of course," she said reassuringly. "It's okay. I won't come, but I can stay on the phone with you if you'd like? We can talk. Or we can just stay silent. Anything you want."
I sniffled and put my head between my legs, feeling my shoulders relax a little. The last thing I wanted was to be a bother to her.
"Thanks," I muttered, and I wasn't even sure if she heard it. "I'm sorry for how I acted last week... with this."
"We don't need to talk about it," she said softly, her voice raspy as she'd just woken up. "I just want you to be okay."
I closed my eyes, breathing out quietly. I wasn't sure what to say, but the sound of her voice was instantly reassuring.
It was quiet between us, for at least another minute or so, and all I could hear was her breathing on the other side. As much as I appreciated the company, I knew it was unfair of me to keep her on the phone.
Swallowing hard, I said, "Daisy?"
"Yeah? Are you okay?"
I rubbed the bridge of my nose, knowing I wasn't. "I don't think–" I sighed awkwardly. "I won't be falling asleep any time soon and I– er, you should go. I don't want to keep you on here for no reason."
"It's not for no reason," she reassured. "I'll stay on until you fall asleep, Y/N. You'll get tired eventually."
"But if I don't–"
"I'll stay on."
I nodded, despite her being unable to see me. "Thank you..."
It went quiet again, and I felt my heart rate returning to its normal pace as I distracted myself with the sound of Daisy's breathing. It wasn't hard to tire myself to the sound, as I was already exhausted, just scared. But when I closed my eyes and let her breathing comfort me, it almost felt like she was right next to me, and my fear slowly faded away.
—
When I woke up the next morning, I was drooling on my phone screen as the sun streamed through my curtains. When I wiped my mouth, a yawn escaped my lips and I moved my phone from my pillow, confused to why it was there. But then I remembered the early hours of that morning and felt my face flush with embarrassment. I checked the screen, seeing the call wasn't still on, but there was a text from Daisy.
Daisy: hey, Y/N, I hope you feel better in the morning. I figured you wouldn't want to wake up to me on the phone, so I hung up. Please don't be angry, but I'm on my way over to see you. I just want to make sure you're okay.
That message was sent fifteen minutes ago, so I wouldn't put it past Daisy to already be outside. It was embarrassing, don't get me wrong, but I appreciated that she cared enough to check on me, even after I'd treated her disrespectfully.
I'd just managed to brush my teeth when Daisy arrived. My mum called me downstairs, claiming it was for me, and I tried not to fidget in my pyjamas as I descended the stairs and saw Daisy waiting by the front door. When she saw me, a relieved smile was on her lips.
"Hey," she began quietly, hesitant to say more in case I was mad.
I exhaled slowly, shoulders relaxing at the sight of her. She'd helped me more than she'd known, and with that thought in my mind, I moved forward and hugged her gratefully.
"Thank you," I whispered into her shoulder, closing my eyes as my arms laced around her neck.
She returned the hug and I sensed her surprise.
"Anytime, Y/N," she replied with a squeeze. "I just want you to be okay."
I nodded, lingering for a moment longer than I probably should have, before pulling away. She searched my eyes with a hint of concern and I subconsciously grabbed her hand and kept ahold of it.
"I'm gonna book an appointment with a therapist," I told her, the thought terrifying me in itself, but I knew it was the right thing to do. "And I wanted to ask if you... would you..." I swallowed hard, suddenly unable to meet her eyes. "Will you please come with me?"
"Of course I will," she promised, squeezing my hand and earning my attention. "I'll be with you whenever you want." She blinked, clearing her throat with realisation. "I mean, for the appointments, obviously."
Thankfully, her messy words brought a smile to my face and reassured me about the whole therapy thing.
"Thank you," I said, finding it cute how she was the one to avoid my eyes now. "Since you're here, you may as well stay for breakfast. If you're not busy, that is."
"Breakfast. Sure. I'd love to."
I didn't let go of her hand as I tugged her towards the kitchen to join me.
—
Having Daisy back in my life was probably the best thing to happen to me in a long time.
Not only had she literally saved my life as Quake, but she was also saving my life every day after. Whether it was accompanying me to my therapist appointments or hospital appointments, or hanging out with me way more than she needed to, she was more present in my life. I didn't ask her to – it only began when I'd asked her to come to my first therapist appointment – but she'd chosen to. And I didn't want to question it because I'd missed her more than I cared to admit.
My parents took her in as family like no time had passed and I was accepting her back into my life, too, but I didn't want to get too attached. She had a job to do at the end of the day, and knowing Daisy, she wouldn't stay for too long. I guess, in the back of my head, there was still that expectation of her picking up and leaving, just like she used to. Which was silly, since that was years ago, but still...
Despite her presence in my life again, we'd been avoiding talking about what we'd missed in each other's lives. The specifics anyway. I knew she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and found her family, and she knew I became an investigative journalist and did many news packages on different topics, but I didn't know anything more and neither did she. I wasn't sure if it was on purpose or if we just avoided it without thinking, but I knew we had to face the music soon.
We were getting coffee after she picked me up from one of my therapy sessions when I brought it up.
"So, my therapist has been helping me with some stuff," I began, staring at my coffee as we walked back to my house. "Stuff outside of my PTSD, that is."
"Oh?" Daisy asked, and I could see her looking at me in the corner of my eyes. "Like what?"
I took a sip of my coffee, trying not to feel embarrassed as I answered, "Well, we obviously talk about my life. And what happens in it. Who I'm with..."
"Yeah..." Daisy was grinning now.
I rolled my eyes, wishing my face wasn't as warm as it felt. "She noticed you've been dropping me off and picking me up and... you may have come up in conversation."
"Ah, so you talk about me," she said slowly, trying very hard not to laugh. "Did you tell her how amazing I am? Or how beautiful, charming and funny I am?"
I sighed, finally lifting my eyes to look at her. Brown eyes twinkled with amusement as she gave me her usual teasing smile, making me shove her in the shoulder gently. Laughter spilled from her lips and I hated the butterflies in my stomach at the sound.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she said, falling into step with me again. "You were saying. Go on."
Looking back ahead as we walked, I said, "Yes, well, we talked about you. And then she recommended that I try to catch up with you more. You know? Because we both talk so much about the good old days and even now, but not the in between. Not the parts that we weren't there for."
I looked back to Daisy when I finished, and she thankfully lost her amusement as she nodded in agreement. I half expected her to take the piss, but she was supportive as she glanced at me.
"I like the sound of that," she said, easing the nerves in my stomach. "So. What do you want to know?"
I cleared my throat, taking another sip of my drink and thinking of where to start. "Okay, erm... why don't we start with your S.H.I.E.L.D. friends? They're your family and I would love to get to know them better. What are they like?"
She nodded thoughtfully, sipping her coffee. "S.H.I.E.L.D., okay. Well, you met Jemma. She's basically my sister. Her and Fitz – I think I mentioned him before?" I nodded, recalling her throwing in the name in one of her stories. "They're together and they've been with me since I was recruited a few years ago. We've been through a lot together, but they've got my backs and I've got theirs."
I smiled at the carefree expression on her face. Just talking about them put her at ease and I felt a little better knowing that her time after high school wasn't completely terrible like I imagined.
"Then there's Coulson, of course," she continued, glancing at me every now and then to see if I was listening. "He's basically our dad. He's the reason I'm even with S.H.I.E.L.D. and he's always looking out for me, even when I'm doing stupid stuff."
"So, regularly then."
She nudged me in the arm at my comment, making me chuckle.
"He was how I learnt about my family," she explained. "There for me when I found them. When I got my powers. When I lost my family... he's been there through it all. I'd do anything for him."
I watched her carefully. "He sounds important to you."
Her lips curved into a small smile as brown eyes met mine. "He is."
She continued to tell me about the rest of her team and what everything was like at work, and the whole time she did, she was smiling.
"I'd love for you to meet them all," she finished, and I was surprised at the hint of nervousness in her voice. I didn't think she ever got nervous. "I mean, you've met Jemma, but the others– you should meet them, too. If you want to, that is."
"I'd like that," I said instantly, appreciating the way her eyes lit up and she tried very hard to hide her smile.
She cleared her throat, distracting from the pink spreading on her face, before asking, "So, you basically know about everything interesting that's happened to me these past nine or so years. What about you? Anything life-changing occur for you?" I opened my mouth to answer, and she added, "Apart from travelling around the world and being an investigative journalist?"
I feigned offence. "I hardly think that's fair. That's like me asking you not to talk about working for S.H.I.E.L.D. or being Quake."
Rolling her eyes playfully, she said, "Go on. Tell me something different."
I looked away from her in thought, thinking back to the past nine years. "I guess... oh, I know. I was almost married."
Her jaw dropped. "You were what?"
A laugh escaped my lips at her intrigued expression. She shook her head with disbelief.
"I have to know more," she insisted, before raising her brows. "You? Almost married?"
"It does sound strange," I agreed with amusement, before recalling the event. "It was about two years ago. I was with this guy who worked at the same paper I did. We'd been together for about a year and–"
"–and you realised he had a second family in the Bahamas?" she finished with a roguish grin.
"Very funny." I narrowed my eyes jokingly. "But no. I just realised I didn't love him. Well, I wasn't in love with him."
"Ouch."
"Ouch indeed." I paused, remembering the poor guy's face when I broke the news to him. "It was a month into the engagement when I told him the truth. He was very understanding, but–"
"–but you broke his poor little heart," she concluded, before wrapping an arm around my shoulder and tugging me closer. "Dear Y/N. The heartbreaker."
"Fuck off."
She laughed when she saw me attempting to fight a smile from my lips. Though eventually, one appeared anyway. Daisy always had the ability to bring out the best in me like that – I'd missed it.
"How about you anyway?" I asked, hoping for an opportunity to tease her in return. "Any boyfriends or girlfriends I should know about? Crazy exes, maybe?"
She snorted, swallowing her coffee before giving me a knowing look. "You're gonna need to brace yourself for this one. I doubt you'll believe me when it comes to this."
I rose an eyebrow with curiosity. "Damn, you've got me hooked, Johnson. Proceed."
And of course, that was the first and last time I heard about Agent Grant Ward. An interestingly dark tale of a dickhead of a man whose existence I was glad was no more.
"...so, do I win?" Daisy asked once she finished talking about him.
"Win what?"
She stared like it was obvious. "The best ex story, duh!"
"Wow." I snickered, shaking my head. "I guess you do."
Fist-pumping like an idiot, she said, "Knew it. Nothing ever beats homicidal psychopath almost-boyfriend."
"You need help."
"No, no I don't. I have you."
"Uh-huh."
"Love you, too."

Three months passed since returning from Myanmar and I was finally in a place where I could return to work. Even though I'd been putting together my research and interviews into a coherent news story at home, I hadn't physically been back to the newsroom in about a year.
My therapist had been helping me to treat my PTSD, my physical therapy was helping me get back function in my shoulder and arm, and the injury itself was almost healed, though I still had to wear a cast. Everything was actually beginning to look up.
I'd even sent off the complete news series about what I'd discovered in Myanmar to my editor which got published just before I returned to work. So, of course, as soon as I got there, that was the first thing everybody congratulated me on.
"Views have been going through the roof," Taylor, my colleague and closest friend at work, said as soon as he spotted me walking to my desk. "Your story is all anybody has been talking about!"
"Good to see you, too," I joked, an attempt to disguise my embarrassment at all the attention. "It's only been a year since we last saw each other."
He gave me a grin. "You know I missed you, Y/L/N, get over here."
I rolled my eyes playfully but accepted his hug, being careful of my shoulder. He squeezed me gently before letting go and perching himself on the edge of my desk as I took a seat. It felt strange to be back, but a good strange.
"I still can't believe you're actually here in the flesh," he said after a moment, eyeing me suspiciously. "I've been so used to quick calls and texts where I try to convince you not to do stupid stuff."
Chuckling, I shot him an appreciative smile. "You know I'm grateful for that. Even if I didn't listen."
"You not listening helped you get the best story though," he countered. "I bet you didn't expect S.H.I.E.L.D. to make the bust in the end though."
I sighed, shaking my head. "Definitely not. But I owe them a lot. They saved my life."
His expression softened. "That's another thing... thanks for not dying on me."
"You're welcome," I returned, though appreciated what he meant. "Now. Catch me up on everything I missed. Gossip an' all."
That was enough for him to pull up a seat and remind me of everything I'd missed whilst being away. We'd spoke many times whilst I was gone, but nothing quite beat a good bitching session in person.
Eventually though, our editor ended up interrupting and asked to see me in her office. I wasn't worried in the slightest, but there was still that tiny part of me that imagined the worst.
"You can stop holding your breath, y'know," Karla told me when I stopped before her desk. She seemed amused as she added, "I wanted to congratulate you on the human trafficking story."
Relaxing my shoulders, I raised my brows. "Oh. I– thank you. I'm glad you liked it."
"You put a lot on the line to get the results you did, but it shows," she continued proudly. "You've made an excellent name for yourself and done your fellow journalists proud."
"I didn't do it for that," I said politely, "but thank you. I just wanted to help those people in Myanmar the best I could."
She smiled. "And you did."
"Well, S.H.I.E.L.D. did."
"But you shared the truth, didn't you?" she reminded me. "Don't belittle this achievement."
I didn't know what to say, so I stayed quiet and watched as she took a seat at her desk chair.
"I heard that it was Quake who saved you back there," she said curiously. "You know, we've never actually gotten an interview with her. Nobody has."
Oh, so that's what she actually wanted.
"I thought, well, since you know her, you could get us an exclusive?" she asked.
I chewed on my lip. "Erm..."
"You don't have to," she added, noticing my reluctance. "But it could be good for everyone. The city can get to know its hero, you can get a great interview under your belt. And our paper gets all the views. What d'you say?"
I was beginning to regret putting that one quote from Daisy in my article now... I should have known Karla would want more. That was the thing with editors – you give them one taste and they want to eat the whole thing.
"I'll ask," I decided, which she seemed to love. "No harm in asking, but I can't promise anything."
Karla leaned back in her seat, nodding. "Very true. Thank you for understanding. I'll let you settle back into work now. Remember to take it easy, yeah? Don't want to lose my best journalist from overworking herself."
I smiled awkwardly as she laughed, before nodding in response and leaving her office.
It wasn't that I didn't want to interview Daisy, but I didn't want to ruin what we had by asking for a favour. Everything between us was going well, even if it was probably temporary and she'd have to leave soon. I assumed that anyway. And on top of that, I was certain I was falling in love with her again, just like I had nine years ago.
Could you blame me? It was impossible to just remain friends with her when she went through all this extra effort to make sure I was okay. Her kind, considerate, supportive self was always on my mind whether I liked it or not. A girl could dream, right?
After my first day back, Daisy picked me up outside. She insisted when she rang me at lunchtime to make sure I was okay, wanting to know everything about how my first day went. I couldn't find it in myself to say no, so I eventually found her sat on a chair in the lobby when I came downstairs after work.

fuck i didn't think this through i gotta get a new ao3 account for it before i can post it uh uh uh i am copy pasting the doc and praying
Ranboo Beloved was going to pass out.
It had been a VERY long evening at the gas station he worked at, and there were still another two hours left until he could go home. Groan. Taking the night shift truly was hell. He mumbled something about minimum wage groggily and grabbed a couple sodas to stuff in the fridge. As he stepped towards the back, he heard a sound from one of the aisles.
‘BANG!’
Ranboo jolted, then flipped around and ducked behind the aisle, dropping the sodas in his panic.
‘It's okay. I’m fine. I probably won’t die. Oh no what if I die. God, if I die, please look after Enderch-‘
“OI! BITCH! LITTLE HELP, HERE?”
He turned slowly into the area, making sure to grab a broom in case he needed self defense, only to see a boy, around his age, blond and covered head to toe in dirt, clutching an alarming amount of chips. “Grab a couple of these, would you.. What’s your name?”
“Oh! It’s.. um.. Ranboo!”
“Cool, now Ranboob, help me out with these crisps, would you?”
“That’s uh, not my name. Do you just want a cart?”
“NO! CARTS ARE FOR THE WEAK !! AND I AM A BIG MAN, I AM SIMPLY TOO POWERFUL FOR WEAK SHIT.”
“I- uh- yeah. Alright. Lemme just grab these and take em to the register..”
“No, Ranboob, you’re a fool. A fool and a coward and morally wrong. See, why would I buy them when I could do this magical little thing called stealing?”
“WHAT?? YOU CAN'T DO THAT,”
The kid (damn, Ranboo still needed to ask for his name) narrowed his eyes. “What, are you a pussy?”
“N- I’m not.. that, but I work here, so I can’t really let you steal.”
Realizing what this meant, the boy dropped the chips, but seemed to be sizing Ranboo up. He paused, then let out a sigh, reluctantly putting a few more back.
Ranboo took a look at the blonde. A real look, not just to be polite. He realized that his shirt was practically swallowing him whole, and his frame was alarmingly bony. Even his raggedy beanie looked too big on him. His blue eyes looked tired, like he hadn't slept in a week. Hmm. Ranboo relinquished the broom and stood up.
“What’s your name?” He asked, grabbing one of the chip packs back from the shelf.
“Tommy Careful Danger Kraken Detective Innit. But you can call me sir.
“What if I called you Tommy?”
“Hmm, tolerable.." the boy said with a half smile. He hopped off the ground where he was. "Alright, see you later, Boob Boy.”
“Boob- I. Okay. Alright-“
As he stuttered, the blonde (Tommy!) started to head out the front. As he passed the cash register, Ranboo hesitated.
“Wait!”
Tommy turned around to face him.
“Whatdayaneed?”
“Do you.. do you want a slushie? On the house?”
—————————
Ranboo Beloved wasn't doing too bad.
It had been a few weeks since that night. He had gotten a raise for ‘preventing’ a shoplifting (little did his manager know), and he’d found a friend in Tommy. He supposed it was his first real one, since toddlers who were related to him didn’t really count. Sorry, Micheal. Speaking of said friend, he was due for a visit. It was about the time of night that he normally dropped by for a free slushie and a fun conversation.
The bell rang from the door across from him. Right on time.
“Tommy! Hey! The usual?”
Tommy entered with grandeur, but seemed to be holding the soor for someone.
"Not yet, big man. I’ve got someone I want you to meet! Tubbo, c’mon, would you? We don’t have all night here,” he yelled, seemingly giving up on holding the door and walking to the register. He grabbed a bar stool to sit on.
As he said it, Ranboo saw someone poke their head out from the door. It seemed to be a kid a bit shorter than Tommy, with choppy bangs that covered his eyes and ears. He slid around the entrance and perched on the stool right before Tommy could sit down.
“You son of a bitch!” Tubbo gave him a shit eating grin in response. “Ranboo, the complete ass right here is Tubbo, he wouldn’t know good manners if they hit him in the face,”
“Says the one who tried to rob my store the first time we met,” Ranboo quipped, quirking an eyebrow up at the blonde.
Tommy shot him a glare, but he was holding back a smile as he replied, “Listen, you bastard, it’s not my fault you have a very robbable store,”
“What’s that supposed to mean?!”
“Exactly what I said, your store is simply weak and easily robbed by big strong men such as myself,”
“Right, which is why I caught you and you immediately gave up,”
“I… you know, you haven’t introduced yourself to Tubbo-“
Ranboo smirked, knowing that he had won. “Hi Tubbo, I’m Ranboo,” he greeted, holding out a hand for the kid to shake.
Tubbo tilted his head at the hand being held up, and promptly chomped down with surprisingly sharp teeth.
“HOLY SH- SHOOT, OW?! DUDE!” Ranboo exclaimed, jerking his now bleeding hand back behind the counter.
“Tubbo, c’mon man, I thought we went over this..” Tommy sighed, glancing at the unhinged boy in question with exasperation. He shrugged in response, seeming to be guilty, but made no move to apologize or help Ranboo grab bandages.
Tommy scratched the back of his neck, looking sheepish. “Soooo, uh, how’s about those slushies, Big R?”
Ranboo sighed. Maybe he should’ve just let Tommy shoplift.
After wrapping his hand up, he grabbed two cups and filled one with Tommy’s usual: half cherry, half coke. When he got to the second, he spun around. “Hey Tubbo, what flavor do you want?’’
Tubbo looked caught off guard at being addressed. “..Surprise me.”
Ranboo grinned. He grabbed the cup, and filled it with his personal favorite: alternating layers of strawberry and lemon-lime. Then he bent over the counter and grabbed the secret ingredient in any good slushie, the tiny umbrella. He gingerly placed it, then popped straws in both of the drinks.
When he slid them to the boys, Tommy squinted at Tubbo’s. “How come Tubbo gets an umbrella? You never gave me one..”
"You never asked!" Ranboo teased, but he still grabbed another and plopped it in the icy mixture, much to the blonde's delight.
They chatted about whatever came to mind, with Tubbo occasionally adding a few words. (He seemed especially interested in hacking and explosions. Concerning, but Ranboo wasn't about to question it.)
After about an hour of goofing off, Tommy and Tubbo decided to say their goodbyes. Ranboo threw their now empty cups into the trash behind him, and they stood up, tidying the area and fixing the barstools. Tommy was the first to speak.
"See you later, Boob Boy! I'd thank you for the slushies, but it's you who should be grateful that you've gotten to spend the evening in my presence,"
Ranboo rolled his eyes, glad that he could tell when Tommy was just being dramatic. He really was grateful under all the fanfare. Probably.
"Yeah yeah, sure. Now get out of here before I have to report a slushie theft. It was nice meeting you, Tubbo."
Tubbo smiled at him, a real smile that didn't make Ranboo scared he was about to be bitten again, and headed out the door with Tommy following behind.
As they left, Ranboo realized that he still had another hour of his shift, and he hadn't even started with the sweeping. Crap.
—————————
"Tubbo, seriously! You could have blown our whole cover!"
Tommy was practically running to keep up with the smaller boy. After an excessively boring bus ride and a mile long hike, they had finally entered the forest. Now, they could talk about things that actually mattered without being seen.
"C'mon bossman, it was funny. Plus, what's the Ranboo guy gonna do? If he's really like you said, then we'll be fine,"
"I know, but STILL! You can't just go around biting people. What if someone else had come in?"
"Alright, alright, I hear you. I'll be more careful next time. How much longer do you wanna keep up the act?"
Tommy let out a sigh. "Not much longer. I think this is it, I really do. Ranboo's a good person, he can help us,"
"If you're sure."
Tommy simply smiled, ever so slightly. He was sure. He hadn't been sure about a human in a very long time, not since.. him. Hopefully Ranboo would be better. No, he would definitely be better. Yeah. For sure.
He didn't have any longer to ponder, though, since they had arrived.
Tubbo glanced back at him. "You ready?"
"Yeah."
With that, the two of them launched off the mossy ground and into the air, with shimmery wings sprouting from their backs. Finally. It was time to go home.
"I do have to admit, though, he makes a pretty good slushie. I liked the lemon lime."

Memories // Matthew Gray Gubler x Reader
Sixth blurb request! For @paniconthepitch Requests are still open!
I know this was suppose to be a blurb, but I got carried away soooo :) enjoy that.
I really like this one guys
Summary - Readers boyfriend breaks up with her and she heads to Matthews house, where she recalls all the times she knew she was in love with Matthew.
Word Count - 2.7k
Prompts - "Just shut up and kiss me." & "I need a place to stay."
You know those days where you think they are going so well, and suddenly, the worst possible outcome of the day happens?
That was today for me.
After such a great date night, I didn't quite imagine myself walking down my boyfriends street crying.
Or should I say ex-boyfriend.
I trudged down the road, my fists clenched at my sides and head held as low as it could physically go without detaching from my body. I knew that moving in with him was a risky move, but I didn't have much choice. I had been kind of couch surfing for a while and he offered to let me stay at his house. A stable roof over my head.
Or so I thought.
Now here I was, heading in no particular direction with only a small suitcase dragging behind me, a wallet in my hand and a phone in my pocket. I had been walking for about 20 minutes. Turning down random streets, not really paying attention to what was happening. Here's another question for ya.
Have you ever heard of the saying, 'When it rains it pours.'?
Well I have. And I am currently experiencing it. Just as I turned onto what seemed to be the first familiar street I had seen in the past 20 minutes, it started *raining*. But not just sprinkling, no, I wasn't that lucky. It was a total downpour.
I looked up at the green sign above me.
*Oakland Street*
That was Matthew's street!
See, Matthew and I had been friends for a long time. I considered him family. His mom and my mom were great friends, and still are. She visits Marilyn still. But I rarely see him anymore, he's always busy filming which is completely understandable. And now your probably thinking.
*If he was such a good friend, why didn't you ask him for help when you were couch surfing?*
Well the short answer is that I was embarrassed of being basically homeless. I look up to him and I didn't want him thinking I was a lost cause or helpless little girl.
But I had no choice now.
I trudged up to his door in my now soaked clothes. I was still crying, despite me *really* trying to hold it together.
It was 9:38 and I was hoping he was still up. Chances are he was, judging by the many sleepovers we had in the past where he would stay up until 4 am. I knocked softly on the door, backing up a few steps from it. I wiped my face a little, trying to dry it from tears and raindrops, but miserably failing.
The door opened slowly to reveal Matthew in plaid pajama pants and a white tee. As expected, he was holding a cup of coffee, which he quickly set down on a table near the door.
"Y/n?" He tilted his head, not coming out of the doorway. I was sure I looked like quite the mess right now. Soaked clothes, flushed face, messy hair, exactly what I *didn't* want him to see.
"I need a place to stay." I was now looking down, tears welling up in my eyes again from sheer embarrassment. I could feel my fists clenching together, nails sure to leave bruises in my hand.
"Come in, come in." He waved me in. I kept my head down as I walked through his door. "Are you alright? What happened?" I had a problem with Matthew where I just couldn't lie to him, it had been like that all our lives. He was so hard to keep things from, whether it was because he was my best friend or because it was so hard to look into those soft brown eyes and tell a lie.
"I've been living with Ben for a while, because I haven't exactly had enough money to keep up with rent payments... But he just broke up with me." I looked up to see pity written across his face. "Please don't look at me like that. I know it's pitiful." I leaned my head all the way back on his couch, staring at the ceiling.
"I'm not trying to show pity y/n, I'm just worried about you. Why didn't you tell me you were having troubles?" He put his hand on my knee, shaking it for an answer.
"Because I knew you would look at me like that!" I waved my hands around his face.
"Whatever you say. Just tell me what happened." As soon as I got a few words out, I was tearing up again.
*"I just don't understand Ben! I want to understand! You never talk to me anymore." I was gesturing wildly with my hands, something I had picked up from Matthew at a young age. I was trying to get my point across.*
*"I feel like I'm taking care of you y/n! I don't need a child I need a girlfriend!" His eyes held so much hate, much different from the soft green ones I had fallen for a few months ago.*
*"What are you even talking about? I just got a job Ben. I clean the house every week. I cook dinner for you, and I'm paying part of the rent! What more do you want from me?" I felt so confused and defeated, the longer I talked the quieter my words became. "If you want me to leave I will. Is this some sick, twisted way to say you don't love me anymore?" He went silent for a moment.*
*"I don't love you anymore." His arms hung heavy at his side. Are you kidding me?*
*"Did I do something wrong?"*
*"You're just, you're hard to love y/n." What the fuck is that suppose to mean?*
*"Fuck you Ben! I did nothing to you." I ran to our shared room, packing my suitcase and grabbing my charger and wallett from the side table. "You are a real piece of work." I could feel my body aching from mental exhaustion. "I'll be back to get the rest of my stuff another day." I stood by the door, grabbing the handle. "Hopefully if I'm so hard to love, I won't be so hard to get over."*
"And that was the last thing I said to him." Matthews thumb wiped a tear from my cheek. "I'm sorry, I'm such a mess."
"You don't have to apoligize for having emotions y/n. I'm here for you, always." He had first said this to me when we were in middle school, I thought that was the sweetest thing a teenage boy could say. "You can stay here as long as you want, I miss seeing you around anyway." He smiled, pushing some hair behind my ear. I set my head on his shoulder. It was really hard talking to him about this stuff. I think the real reason it was so hard to lie to him, was because it's hard to lie to someone you are *so* in love with.
Matthew seemed to be out of reach my whole life. It wasn't that he was massively popular, or that we were part of different cliques. It was really just because I thought he could never see me as anything more than a friend.
When I was 13, that's when I fell in love with him. I just didn't know it at the time.
*"Y/n this is so great! I can't believe I got the lead!" Spencer was spinning in my swivel chair that sat at my desk.*
* "I've always told you that you we're good at acting. Maybe you'll be an actor?"*
*No way! I'm gonna be a lawyer or something." He nearly fell from the chair laughing, as if the proposition of being an actor was so out of this world. There was a sparkle in his eye that I had never seen before. It was so refreshingly different from the days he had come to me after school, telling me that some assholes were pushing him around.*
*"I'm so happy for you, you're gonna do amazing! You better not leave me when you're famous." I shoved his shoulder playfully. That was truly a joke, but I could feel, deep in my subconscious, I was afraid that maybe he would.*
*"I would never!" And he didn't.*
But I couldn't do anything about how I felt.
"I don't wanna be a burden on you." I had stopped crying, but I was still slumped on the couch like a wet rag, *literally*.
"You could never be a burden on me. Here." He handed me a picture frame from his side table. It was of me and him when were were 22, it was a surprise party I threw for him. "Do you remember this?"
"How could I forget the first time I got you drunk?" And the night I realized I was in love with you *for sure*.
*Matthew had refused to get drunk on his 21st birthday. He was so responsible that it was nearly infuriating. So when he texted me telling me that someone came up to him on the street and offered him a modelling job, I knew I had to throw a party. Just me him and some of our friends.*
*I led him into my house with 4 of our other friends there. There was a seemingly illegal amount of liquor on my dining room table.*
*"Oh no! Y/n no, you're not gonna get me drunk!" He looked down at me disapprovingly. I stuck my bottom lip out, and gave him puppy dog eyes.*
*"Please Matthew? Just one time? I wanna know what kind of drunk you are." My puppy face turned into a slightly mischievous one.*
*"What kind of drunk I am?"*
*"Yeah! Like sad drunk, funny drunk, angry drunk, sleepy, reckless, philosophical. I wanna know!" I giggled, dragging him over to the table and already pouring him a shot.*
*"Fine, just one time."*
*And I did find out what kind of drunk he was.*
*A lovey drunk.*
*"Brian. You are the coolest person I know!" Matthew slurred, leaning over to our mutual friend. "And Katie is the funniest." He pointed to Katie. "And you! You are my favorite person in the whole world, you know that?" He was now laying in my lap, his head looking up at me.*
*"You are a mess." I laughed, patting his cheek.*
*"I am not a mess! I'm totally coherent! I love you so much! Look at you!" He sat up, kissing my cheek. I'm glad he was drunk because I didn't want him to remember the dark shade of red my cheeks turned afterward.*
*I loved this man, and it was kicking me in the ass.*
"A lovey drunk you called me." He chuckled as I gripped the frame.
"Do you remember all the things you said that night?" I half smiled, remembering the kiss om my cheek.
"Not really, to this day I live in blissful ignorance."
"Well today is the day you know." I giggled, crossing my legs on the couch and facing him.
"Wait! Before you tell me of all the dumb things I did that night, let me get you some dry clothes." He stood from the couch, heading to his room.
"Thank you!"
He came back holding and NYU hoodie and some sweatpants. I snatched them from his arms with a big smile and headed to the bathroom to change.
The only time before that I had worn his clothes was freshman year after an asshole from school pushed me in the mud while we were on our way to study at Matthew's.
*Matthew and I were walking side by side on the walkway, talking about random things.*
*"If you do get a cat, what are you gonna name it?" Matthew asked, keeping his eyes forward.*
*"I think I would name it Leo. After Leonardo DiCaprio, he's a dreamboat." He looked at me with an eyebrow raised.*
*"Really? That dork?"*
*"Says you! You're a huge dork!" I nudged him into the road with a laugh.*
*Just then I heard loud and fast footsteps coming from behind us. Suddenly large hands were shoving me into the nearest mud puddle. I gasped at the cold liquid that was soaking through my jeans and yellow shirt.*
*"Nice outfit y/n!" The asshole laughed, running down the sidewalk.*
*"Fuck you Ricky!" Matthew threw up his middle finger and helped me out of the mud. "Come on, I'll give you some clothes at my house."*
*When we arrived he handed me sweatpants and a Nirvana shirt. I changed into it and Matthew probably laughed for 10 minutes straight. I was pretty short around that time, and Matthew had just had his growth spurt. To make a long story short, I was swimming in those clothes.*
I was now staring at myself in the mirror, wishing I had the chance to get use to the feeling of wearing his clothes.
"Okay! Time to remember an embarrassing night Gube!" I shouted, feeling far better now that I was in warm clothes. I plopped onto the seat, scooting next to Matthew. "Alright. Now what do you wanna know first?" I set my chin in the palm of my hand.
"So, what exactly is your definition of a lovey drunk?" He mimicked my position.
"A drunk who is very kind. They are constantly complimenting everyone around them and expressing their love and fondness. Can even turn a sad or angry drunk to a happy one." I shrugged.
"Okay, fair enough. What did I say that night?" I smiled evily.
"Ok, well, you told Brian that he was the coolest person ever. And Katie was labelled the funniest ever. You gave Mallory ten bucks for all the advice she had given you in the past. And you hugged Alex for around 5 minutes straight." The image of Matthew swaying with Alex was clear in my memory like it happened yesterday. He threw his head back him laughter, his face reddening with slight embarrassment.
"Did I say anything to you?" He stared into my eyes like he was going to find the words there before they came from my mouth. I rubbed my hands together.
"Uh, yeah. You told me that I was your favorite person in the whole world." He smiled at that. "And then I told you that you were a mess. But you informed me, so graciously, that you were *not a mess* and *totally coherent*. Then proceeded to say 'I love you so much! Look at you!' And you kissed my cheek." I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks, I was now looking down at my hands.
"Well you are my favorite person in the world," He tilted my chin up with his hand. "still. Maybe I'm an honest drunk."
"What's that suppose to mean?" I cocked my head to the side.
"Maybe I'm an honest drunk who was just sober enough to be too nervous to kiss you on the lips?" It came out as a question, I wasn't sure if he was genuinly asking a question or he was saying that that is *exactly* what happened. I'm hoping for the latter.
"What do you-" I was interrupted by his hand grabbing my chin.
"Just shut up and kiss me." He brought my lips to his, and of course I didn't hesitate at all to kiss back.
I ran my hands through those curls that I loved so much. His hands gripped my hips as I leaned into him more, I was so afraid that this was going to be a dream.
Like it was so many other times.
As he pulled away I kept my eyes closed, still hoping that it actually happened.
"Hey, are you okay?" He patted the side of my face lightly.
"Yeah, more than okay. How long?"
"Since we were 20. You?"
"Sometime in middle school." I snickered.
"Well either way, far too long." He put his finger under my chin again, bringing me into another kiss.
*Thanks Ben*

I'll have an entree of TaiyangxCinder on a date with a side of Ruby, Yang, Emerald and Mercury trying to decide whether to break up the date or let it happen.
ORDER UP! Taiyang/Cinder with sides hot and fresh!
TinderBox
Laughter filled the air as Taiyang sat at a small patio table of a local cafe in Patch. Across from him was a wonderful woman he had met a few weeks ago while he was in town getting groceries. A woman with one arm and half a face was trying to put apples in a bag at the marketplace when he watched her drop everything. Being the kind man that he is, Taiyang was quick to help her collect the fruit, even if she was quite rude and short with him as she walked away without even a thank you.
The next day, he met her again. This time trying to pay for some house basics. He was just walking up to the line when he overheard that her cards had insufficient funds.
“Try it again!” The woman growled as she refused to release the bag from her white-knuckled grip.
“Ma’am, this is the third time I’ve tried them, they’re empty,”
Before the situation could escalate, Taiyang placed his own cards on the counter with a smile. “It’s fine, I can cover for her,” He turned to the woman and saw her single amber eye staring at him. Pulling the bag towards herself, she uddered a small ‘thanks’ before storming out of the store. He and the cashier gave each other a look and shrugged. At least she thanked him this time.
“Someone, you know?” The cashier asked him as she rang his items.
“Bumped into her yesterday, but never before that,” Thought the large window, he watched the mysterious woman dip into an alleyway after making sure no one was watching her. He could see it in the way she carried herself, she is a Huntress. Or at least was one. It would be hard to continue that profession without an arm and an eye, even with the advances in technology.
The third time he met her, he walked past the laundromat on his way home from Signal when he saw her through the window. She had a pile of clothes sitting on the bench next to her, and she was staring at the washing machine in front of her like it was some sort of new Grimm. He studied her for a brief moment before walking inside and coming up beside her. “Having problems?” He asked, making her jump and spin around at him.
His body reacted before he could realize what was happening and came face to face with a glowing red dagger stopped inches away from his face by his own hand holding her wrist. They stared at each other for a moment before he gave out a burst of nervous laughter. “Sorry about that, didn’t mean to startle you,” She yanked her hand away from him as the knife disappeared just as quickly as it formed.
“Are you following me?” She yelled.
“No! No! Why would you think that?”
“Because this is the third day in a row we’ve met and I’m started to get annoyed,”
“Okay, yeah that does look kinda bad on my part,” Taiyang admitted, “But, I saw you struggling and just wanted to help,”
“I don’t need your help,” She snapped at him. “And I don’t need your charity,” She began to angrily shove the clothing into the machine and was about to toss the scoop full of detergent in, but he quickly got it out of her hand.
“First off, that’s not how that works,” He ignored the sounds of protest as he put the correct settings and put the powder into the little slot it was designed for. “And secondly, I did mean to offend you. Let me make it up to you,” He set the scoop down and leaned against the machine as it started to turn on and fill with water.
“And how are you planning on doing that?” She asked with a scowl. He saw how she tried to fold her arms but fumbled a bit and settled her free hand on the other side of her chest. The confidence and fire that was in her eye faded a bit, but she stood her ground.
“Let me take you to dinner,” He said simply. While he was content with just living his life, with his daughters getting older, he was beginning to miss the feeling of coming home to someone other than Zwei at the end of the day. As he expected, the woman was utterly caught off from request.
“What!”
In defence, Taiyang lifted his hands and took a step back. “You don’t have to, you can even think about it,” He said as he began to make his way towards the door. “Tomorrow, I’ll be at the fountain in the square. If you want to have dinner, I’ll be there by six, if not you’ll hopefully never see me again!” Giving her a choice as he made his way to the door, he stopped and gave her a smile before leaving. As he was going, he could not help but notice that one of the shirts she had in her pile looked a lot like the shirt that one of his colleges said had gone missing last week.
The next day came, and Taiyang was sitting at the fountain for the last hour after he said he would be there and sighed in defeat. He took a chance, and it did not payout, but no one could say he did not try. As he was standing up from his spot, however, he saw the woman approaching him with a bit of nervousness in her step. With a smile, he let her approach and saw that she was looking everywhere but him.
“My name is Taiyang, by the way,”
“Cinder,” She said finally.
“Well, Cinder, I know a great place for seafood,”
And so it was for the last few weeks, they’ve had a few dates and talked whenever they could. It was hard since she did not have a Scroll, but that did not stop them from meeting up for a few minutes every day to just chat before leaving to live their lives. Little by little, Cinder was starting to come out of her shell, and he could tell she was enjoying his company. There was nothing that could dim his mood tonight.
====
Yang could not believe what she was seeing. Her father was sitting at a cafe table with Cinder Fall, and he was laughing. They both were! Hiding behind a bush, she and Ruby just stared at the scene in front of them. “What the hell is this!” Ruby hissed as they both kept out of sight.
“When I told dad maybe it was time to start seeing someone again, this was not what I had in mind,” Yang sighed as she checked to see how many rounds of ammo she had on her.
“But she’s dead! We killed her!” Ruby carefully took her weapon her and did the same, pulling the breach back to see if it had a round chambered. Before they could go on the offensive, another voice chimed in.
“That’s what you get for not checking the body,” Spinning in place, Yang saw Mercury squatting next to her, looking unimpressed. Next to him was his partner Emerald, who was looking over his shoulder at Yang.
“You guys suck at stealth, by the way,” She said with a shake of her head.
“What the hell are you two doing here!” Yang hissed to not draw attention to them.
“Trying to figure out where our boss kept going while leaving us in the safehouse all the time,” Mercury said as he eyed up the ongoing date, “And now we see that she’s been getting all lovey-dovey with dad shorts over there,”
“Hey, that’s my dad!” Ruby pointed a finger at Mercury.
“My point still stands,”
“Well, it doesn’t matter anyway, cause we need to break this up, right, Yang?” Before Yang could agree with Ruby, boisterous laughter came from the table. Looking over at her father, she saw the smile reach across his entire face, his shoulders were bouncing with every chuckle, the people around them were giving him looks, but he continued anyway, even Cinder was laughing gently.
“Ruby, when was the last time we saw dad this happy?” Yang asked.
“What?”
“Look at him, we’ve never seen him like this before, not since before mom died. This isn’t the face he puts on for us; this is the first time I’ve seen him happy, genuinely happy in so long. I can’t do that to him, not after everything that’s happened,”
“Yang,” Ruby grabbed her sister’s shoulders and forced her to look into Ruby’s eyes. “This is Cinder we’re talking about, we can’t let her get close to dad,”
“I’m with short stuff here,” Mercury pointed out. “Right, Em?” He looked back at Emerald but found that she, too, was looking at the date with a look in her eyes.
“She’s never laughed like that before,” She said, looking at the couple. “This is the happiest I’ve ever seen her, Merc. I can’t take that away from her.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Mercury said as Emerald took her stand.
“You too?” Ruby watched as Emerald stood, and Yang does the same. “Yang, it’s Cinder!”
“I know, Rubes, but I can’t come between them,”
Ruby and Mercury stood and faced their foes. “It’s treason then,” Without another word, Ruby began to walk away, followed by Mercury with a look Yang could not place. When they were out of sight, Yang let out a breath she was holding and shook her head at how dramatic Ruby was being.
“This is ridiculous,” She said as she and Emerald retook their overlook positions. “Are you sure about this? I know what Cinder means to you,”
“If this is who she’s happy with, I can live with that,” The woman said as she took one last look at Cinder and her father before looking at Yang. “So, what’s the plan?”
“Well, Ruby and Mecury are quick, so they’re going to hit hard and fast, and we need to be ready for anything.
====
His laughter filled the air while Cinder tried and failed to laugh with him. The joke was terrible, but his pure joy was contagious. Holding a napkin to her mouth, stopping the food inside from spewing out. Just seeing her do that set the man into an even louder fit of laughter. “Stop laughing!” Cinder cried out, embarrassed that she almost lost her mouthful of food.
“I’m sorry, but that’s just too funny,” The large man finally quieted down and wiped a tear from his eye. When Cinder finally swallowed her food, she wiped her lips and shook her head.
“I should know better than to take a bite in the middle of one of your stories,” She said with a sip of water. Her own statement brought to mind how many dates they had been on—little over a month of this back and forth between them, and she honestly never been happier.
“I’m just happy to tell them. I’m sure everyone else on the island is sick of me telling them for the seventh time,” He chuckled as he cleaned the last fries off his plate and set the utensils on top. Likewise, Cinder finished her salad, and he set her plate on top of his before he waved to the waiter walking around for their check. There was a lull in their conversation, she could tell he was a little nervous about something on his mind, but she did not want to pry.
“So,” He began after clearing his throat. “I don’t suppose I offer you a glass of wine back at my house?”
With how nervous he was behaving, Cinder would be lying if she did not admit it was just a little cute. For a father of two and a seasoned Huntsmen to become nervous for asking a woman to share a bottle of wine was amusing. Humming in thought, she leaned back in her seat and looked away, debating an answer she already knew.
“Well, I don’t know…” She smiled while giving him a look. “Maybe something to sweeten the deal?”
“Ice cream?” He offered. Cinder let out another laugh and gave a nod.
“Sounds wonderful,”
====
“So, what’s the plan?” Mercury asked as the two walked around the corner. Ruby sighed and rubbed her head.
“I don’t know,” She finally admitted. “My original plan was just to run up and tell dad everything that Cinder has done, but with Yang and Emerald blocking up, we need to find a way to get dad to dump her,”
“We just need to make her mad,” Mercury said after a moment. “Even the most patient person won’t be able to stand against when she goes feral.”
“Perfect,” Ruby nodded as she looked over at her dad and Cinder as they got up from the table and start to leave. Watching them walk, Ruby felt disgusted at how her dad was holding Cinder’s only hand as they began to walk under a tree. Looking up into the leaves, Ruby saw apples ready for picking, dangling by their stems, ready to fall with the slightest breeze.
Perfect.
Rushing to the tree, Ruby sprinted towards it and jumped up to kick the tree, making the fruit fall off and shower Cinder with apples, undoubtedly causing her temper to flare. Before she could make contact, however, a streak of yellow met her in the air and dropped her to the ground. Holding her down, Yang looked around the tree and saw the couple walking safely under the tree.
“Sorry, sis. Gotta do better than that,” She said with a smile, putting just enough pressure on Ruby to keep her in place without hurting her.
“While you got me, Who’s going to get him?” Ruby asked with a grin. Yang widened her eyes as she looked up and saw Mercury sprinting towards the same tree. With her pinning Ruby, she could not stop the man from kicking the tree, but both sisters watched as Mercury miss entirely and fall onto the ground with a thud.
“Damn it, Emerald!” Looking over, Ruby saw the mentalist focusing on Mercury before giving Yang a thumbs up, signalling that the couple safely passed the danger of the tree. Using her semblance, Ruby got past Yang and collected Mercury to plan their next attack.
Their next stop was an ice cream vendor. Ruby spied her father, pointing to the board and trying to decide what to get. In the awning just outside the door, was a large puddle just waiting for Ruby to poke a hole through it and fall them and their fresh ice cream. Only using her weapon would be too obvious. So, grabbing a rock, she got ready to put a hole in the material. When the time was right, she threw it through the air but jumped when the sound of a shot echoed, and her stone was obliterated.
Despite the sudden noise, neither Taiyang nor Cinder were fazed by it. They continued down the sidewalk with ice cream in their hands as the sun was starting to set. Looking at where the round came from, she saw Emerald holding her head in pain while Yang was hovering over her, murmuring to try and help.
Mercury saw what was happening and nodded. “She can’t do more than two people at the same time without it hurting, and that one looked like it hurt a lot.”
“Then that’s how we get past them,” Ruby said as both she and Yang saw the couple start walking up the dirt path towards their house. Ruby really did not like the implications of that action, but she needed to stop this now before her dad got hurt. She and Mercury began to head down the road towards the house, only to stop by Yang and Emerald as they blocked the path. Without missing a beat, Ruby used her semblance and jumped past Yang, only to get clotheslined onto the ground.
Looking back, she saw Yang’s image disappear with Yang standing above her with a determined look on her face. “Sorry, Rubes, but this stops here,” Even during this fight, Yang’s attack did not hurt nearly as much as it would have if she did not soften the blow. With Emerald messing with what she can see, it will be difficult to get past them and to the house. With a kick, Ruby launched Yang off of her and charged towards Emerald with Mercury stopping Yang from helping.
Spinning in place, Crescent Rose opened up and scraped up the ground, kicking up dust and dirt towards Emerald’s face. Ruby knew it was a dirty tactic and hated the fact that she had to resort to it, but without Emerald’s mental interference, she now had a straight shot at the house. She heard Mercury cry out for Emerald as she shouted in pain as the dirt hit her eyes.
Leaving them behind, Ruby used her semblance to close the distance to the house and prepared to charge in and face Cinder head-on.
====
Taiyang’s house was large, that much Cinder could see, but there was a warmth that she had never felt before. Standing in his living room and admiring all the books and little nicknacks the man collected while he went to get the wine he offered at the end of their dinner. During their first date, Cinder had planned to just scam a few free meals from him and leave him, but the longer she talked with him, the warmer and more genuine he became to her.
To think this all started because Cinder was the only one who could really go out in public after everything. Emerald’s and Mercury’s face plastered on every wanted board through the world, Cinder was the only one who could fetch supplies for the three of them. Missing half her face and an arm is a quick way to make people look away from her. She did not know why the two of them continued to follow her, but she was grateful for their company during this troubling time. Even more than that, she was thankful for Taiyang, he had been an unsuspecting rock for her to lean against.
Looking over to the self filled with picture frames, she saw a few baby photos of the daughters he said he had, but then her heart froze when she saw one in particular. Slowly, she reached out with a trembling hand and picked up a picture of four girls standing in a row with smiling faces. All four of them she recognized, one of them haunts her dreams. The last time she had seen Ruby Rose was months ago. They had met in the streets of a city, and Ruby had unleashed the power of her silver eyes.
Cinder remembered that day, how she could do nothing as pain wracked her body, incinerating the Grimm from her body and leaving her on the street. When Cinder woke up, she was with Emerald and Mercury in some rotting shack while they tended to her wounds. When she was well enough, they needed to leave and go somewhere that no one would know or care that they were there.
Now she was standing in the home of the father of her worst enemy.
“That’s my daughters, Ruby and Yang. But you already knew who they are.” Taiyang said behind her. A cold chill ran down her spine as she turned around and looked up at him.
“You knew who I was? Since when?”
“Since you told me your name,” He said as he held one of the wine glasses in his hand in offering. “Ruby had sent letters and messages before with your name on them,” he set the glass down when she did not take it and gently lifted the picture frame from her hand and placed it back on the self.
“So, what are you planning then?” She demanded as she began to channel her powers, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.
“My plan?” He asked as he took his own glass of wine and sat down in a chair. “Well, share this wine with you and listen,”
“Just like that? You’re just going to listen to what I have to say?!”
He pointed at her and relaxed in his seat. “A response like that makes me think no one has given you the chance to just talk,” He then sipped on the wine and waited for her to start talking. Truth be told, she had no idea where to start.
She heard him sigh, “Alright, I’ll start then. Why are you on Patch?” He asked as he sat up a little bit.
“We needed someplace to lay low, somewhere that no one would look. No Salem, no Ozpin, somewhere insignificant. So we made our way to this little backwater island off the coast of Vale.”
“Were you stealing clothes off clotheslines?”
“Yes,”
“Who else is with you?”
“My two subordinates,”
“Subordinate? Not friends?”
That made Cinder stop and think, were Emerald and Mercury her friends? After everything, the two could have abandoned her at any moment, but they chose not to. “I suppose they are my friends…”
“That’s good, it’s always good to have friends,” He sipped on his wine as he watched her. Another stretch is silence, and Cinder finally relented and took the glass that was set on the self for her and sipped it. It had been far too long since she had tasted good wine, and while it was not the best, it was still better than anything she had recently.
“So, what do you want?” He finally asked.
“I wanted to be strong,” Cinder began. “I wanted to be feared, I wanted to be powerful. But the more my wish was granted, the worst things began to get for me. Now I don’t know what I want,” Cinder finally admitted as she stared at her reflecting in the darkness of the wine.
“I’m sure you want what a lot of people want in similar circumstances,” Taiyang stood from his spot and looked into her one eye. “You want a fresh start on a new life, and I’m more than willing to help you with that,”
“What?! just like that?” She could not believe what he was saying, “After everything I’ve done? I’ve killed people, Taiyang! Good people!”
“Do you regret it?” His simple question stopped her in her tracks. Faces of the people she had killed flashed before her eyes. Before, with every life she took, she would feel pressure on her. Before, she thought this was just the cost of what she did, of what she wanted, and that she was getting stronger by pushing past it. The weight was proof of her strength, but now she just felt heavy.
“Yes,” She whispered finally.
“Good, because if you didn’t, then you wouldn’t be standing here right now,” He said gently as she felt him get closer. “And that’s all you need for a second chance,”
“You think I deserve a second chance?” She asked quietly, closing in on herself a little more.
“Cinder,” His voice made her look into his eyes, “I wouldn’t be here, wouldn’t be the person I am today if I didn’t believe in second chances. Summer gave Yang a second chance to have a mother in her life. She also gave me a second chance to be a father. Then after she died, Qrow gave me a second chance to be a caring father. Even before that, Ozpin, the man you hate so much, gave me a second chance to be a Huntsmen that lead me to my team and closest friends. Second chances are what people need in life, and I’m more than happy to give you one too,”
She stared into his eyes and found his words to be right. She had never had anyone in her life like this before. She was merely a tool to Salem, and Emerald was just infatuated with her. She felt the sting of tears behind her eye and could not stop a few from sliding down her face. He was quick to cup her face, and the rough skin of his thumb wiped them from her cheek. “Thank you,” She whispered to him.
Before anything else could happen, however, she heard a dog bark and a door slam open. Looking over to the kitchen, Cinder saw Ruby Rose standing in the doorway. Her weapon in hand and her eyes shining, ready to unleash another blast of silver light. Cinder tensed up and got ready to strike back, she would have suspected Taiyang of luring her into a trap, but the look of shock and how surprised he said her name meant he was not expecting his younger daughter either.
Heavy boot falls filled the house as Ruby made her way towards them, her silver eyes not looking away for a second. When Ruby reached her, they stared into each other’s eyes. Finally, Ruby let out a breath before jabbing a finger into Cinder’s shoulder, prompting her father to call her out on it, but Ruby ignored that to deliver her message.
“Don’t fuck this up, Cinder.” There was nothing else from Ruby as she stormed past them and out the front door. Cinder felt like a storm just passed by and felt Taiyang gently place a hand on her back as he lightly tapped his wineglass to hers, filling the silence with the chime of glass on glass.
“I think that’s going to be the best you’re going to get approval from her, take it as a win,”
====
When Yang finally caught running to the house, she saw Ruby sitting on the porch with her head in her hands. Behind Yang, Emerald and Mercury were close by as they approached the younger woman. From the window, she saw into the living room and saw both her father and Cinder still talking, even with wine glasses. Walking up to her little sister, she sat next to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “What stopped you?”
“I was right there, ready to barge in and then she started talking…”
“Yeah, that tends to happen when she does that,” Mercury said as he and Emerald finally caught up. “She’s very good with words,”
“But I didn’t get that she was lying, Dad is really good at detecting those, believe me,” Ruby said with a sigh. “She wants to start over, and Dad’s letting her do that. There’s not a lot we can do to stop that,”
“Maybe that’s for the best, for all of us,” Emerald said as she looked through the window and sighed.
“Yeah, sorry about the dirt,” Ruby said finally as she stood up and stretched her back.
“It’s okay, I get it,” Emerald said as she waved her hand. “It didn’t hurt, just sucked…”
“Well, I don’t want to be here for the next few hours,” Yang said as she stood up with Ruby, “I’m starving, food anyone?”
With a general agreeance for something to eat, the four of them began to head back into the city as the sun cast an amber glow across the island, when Mercury asked where they were going, Yang just grinned.
“I know a great seafood place,”

The Southsider (pt. 5)
Sweet Pea x reader
Chapter Summary: School isn't going too well for y/n, but there are both old and new friends that have her back. And later, she prepares for her first date.
Author's Note: y/i means "your initial"
Word Count: 2410
Chapter 1 • Chapter 4 • Chapter 6
You walked into Biology with a big smile on your face. Sweet Pea had just asked you out. You felt people staring at you, but you didn't care. You didn't care how they looked at you or what they were saying about you. Sweet Pea had just asked you out.
"Hey." Toni said as you sat at your joined table you two shared together. "You okay?"
"Huh? Yeah, I'm good."
"Are you sure?" She put a hand on your shoulder.
"What? Oh, yesterday. Um, lot of crying, lot of drama, found out some stuff about my mom, but Sweet Pea was there for me the whole time. And, uh, yeah." You fiddled with your pen.
"And what?" Toni teasingly smiled.
"We may have started going out." You looked up. "And we have a date later today."
She playfully pushed your shoulder. "I'm so happy for you!"
"Am am I." Cheryl said, smiling. "Today we're supposed to work in groups of three. Is that okay with you, raggamuffin?"
"Sure." Toni said, scooting her chair away as Cheryl brought up a chair in between you two.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to her." You said.
"You talking to me or her?" Toni asked.
"Yes." You smiled.
"Anyways," Cheryl said. "Before we get on the topic of that date, what did you learn about your mom?"
"Oh, about that." You took the jacket out of your backpack. Both of them were shocked. You nervously laughed. "So funny story."
You explained to them everything that happened, from what happened at Jughead's trailer to the letter. "Wow." Cheryl said.
"Yeah." Toni agreed. "So, are you going to join?"
"I don't know. I'm thinking about it."
"You should start thinking about going back to the Southside." Some bulldog said as he passed your table.
"And you should start thinking of getting your head out of your ass." You said sweetly. "It's not a hat." You then turned to Cheryl and Toni, who were both trying to hold in their laughter. "So yeah, that's the story."
"Alright," Cheryl said, still smiling from your comment. "Back to the date. What are you going to wear?"
"This?" You didn't think anything was wrong with your outfit. It was just jeans and a t-shirt with the Back to the Future car on it.
"Yeah, if you guys were going to a classic rock concert. You do have clothes better than this, right?"
You shifted in your seat. "No. All I have are novelty tees and jeans. I don't see anything wrong with that."
"And there's nothing wrong with that." Toni interrupted.
Cheryl shook her head. "Okay, here's the plan. After school you and I are going to my house, where we will find you the perfect attire for your date with that tall gang member."
"Uh, okay. I just need to go shopping for food first. I haven't had anything to eat in my house for a few days now."
"Then it's settled. I'll go grocery shopping with you, then we go to my house to make you a better you." Toni rolled her eyes as Cheryl smiled.
As you went to second period, you felt the stares of people burning into your back. You told yourself that it wouldn't get to you, but you were beginning to get fed up. Instead of being embarrassed and sad like you thought, you were just annoyed. You didn't even know most of these people. They had no right to talk about you.
During break you were heading to your locker, finding Fangs in the hallway. You two had the same third period, so he went with you. As you two walked together you felt people stare at you.
One person harshly bumped your elbow, making you stumble into Fangs. "Hey!" Fangs yelled. "Apologize."
"Fangs it's fine." You tapped his arm. "Let's just go." You were a little happy that someone new had your back. The Serpents really were loyal, even when you only knew them for a short time.
As you got to your locker there was a crowd of people around it. You and Fangs slipped your way through to find someone had written Southside Slut on it. This one hurt.
You slowly unlock your locker, and open it. Suddenly it's slammed shut by a guy in a letterman jacket. A bulldog. He's expecting you to be mad, but you couldn't have that. You give him a smile. "So, how's Reggie?"
"Suspended because of you. For two weeks. And he's off the basketball team." He glared.
"Aw, RIP." You flash a smile.
"But don't worry," he says. "Until then we'll carry out what he wanted."
You scoffed. "You know, I am so fed up with all of you. None of you even knew I was from the Southside, and we sure as hell didn't have a problem then. I don't even know you."
You unzipped your backpack. Taking out the jacket, you slipped it on. It was a good fit. You grabbed your textbook, slamming the locker shut. You then leaned on your locker, smiling. "Tell your mouth breathing leader that I say thank you, for making me remember where I came from. Because of him, I think I'll embrace my roots." You then turned to a shocked Fangs. You grabbed your backpack, slinging a strap around your shoulder. "Let's go."
After their period the two of you went to English together. Sweet Pea was already there. Fangs went in before you, quickly going to Sweet Pea and hitting him on the shoulder. "Dude." He said, smiling. Sweet Pea looked at his friend in confusion, until he saw you walking to your desk in a Southside Serpent jacket. He sat up quickly and smiled at you. Were you going to do it?
As you sat Toni passed you a note. It told you to send a picture of your outfit, as well as her number. You gave her an okay sign with your hand. Sweet Pea and Fangs looked at the two of you confused.
After the bell rang you walked towards the school library, where your friends always meet up for lunch. Sweet Pea walked right in front of you l, gently ghosting his left hand over your right hip, barely touching. He leaned into your ear. "I'll pick you up at your house at 5." He whispered, kissing just below your ear.
He then walked off smoothly, with you watching him go as you put your hand where his kiss was. You snapped out of your daze when you couldn't see him anymore and continued walking. You sat down next to Kevin when you got there.
"Jug, Bets-" You began.
"Look, I wanted to say that I'm sorry. My dad shouldn't have kept that from you for so long, and I-" Jughead cut you off.
"Jug." You got his attention. "It's fine. I read the letter, I get it. I'm not mad anymore. I'm sorry for overreacting."
"No, y/n. You didn't overreact." Betty said. "We understand that you were going through an emotional time, and it was perfectly okay to react the way you did."
"Thanks guys." The three of you went into a group hug. The other three joined in.
"Betty told us about everything. Sorry if you didn't want us to know." Archie explained.
"No, it's fine. I'm okay now."
"So," Veronica said. "Are you going to join the Serpents? You're wearing the jacket."
"Yeah, I think it'll be good for me." You nodded, looking at Archie. He was still your friend, and has had run-ins with the Serpents before.
"We support you, no matter what." Archie said. You beamed and nodded your head giddily.
You meet up with Cheryl at the outside of the gym after school. You both go to the grocery store and shop for food. "If you want something, I don't mind getting it for you." You offer.
"No thanks." She said, looking around. "Shouldn't your guardian or something be shopping for food instead?"
"It's just me looking after myself." You explain. "My aunt sends money while she's on her business trips. She sometimes doesn't send enough, so I picked up a job at Pop's. I mean I don't have any parental figure breathing down my neck, so I'm fine."
But you weren't. You were lonely. Sure, you have Jughead and FP, but you didn't feel like you belonged with them. Hopefully the Serpents would change that feeling.
You went to your house and put your groceries on the kitchen counter. You then went to Cheryl's house. As you entered the mansion, you went to a living room where Cheryl's mom and grandma were. "Mother, Nana Rose, this is y/n."
Her mom glared at you, as if looking down upon you. "Oh, dear," Nana Rose said. "You look just like your mother."
She then gained your attention. "You knew my mom?" There was something about her that was unsettling, although you also felt that she was harmless.
"Oh yes. Sweet little thing. Her mother abandoned her when she was so young, going on about not being ready or whatnot. She was always such a stickler. How is she, by the way?"
"Um, she passed away four years ago."
"How awful. I bet that man she was dating had something to do with it. I never did like him."
You let out a humorless laugh. "Me neither." Cheryl then led you to her room.
While Cheryl was looking for an outfit for you I'm her walk-in closet, you were looking at all her lipsticks. "I get that your Nana is creepy and stuff, and I'll just let that go since I have a soft spot for old people, but what's up with your mom?"
"Mother is horrendous." She said from the closet. "She dislikes it when I only bring one person to my room."
You were confused by that response. You would understand if it were a guy. Then it clicked. "Oh my God!" You said, walking towards the closet. "You're bi."
She quickly turned around. "Excuse me?"
"Holy crap you are!"
"I don't appreciate you making accusations about me. Especially when I invited you into my home." She stomped over to you.
You sighed and walked to the bed, taking a seat. "Sit." You gently said. She stared at you, but reluctantly agreed as she sat next to you with a huff. "Cheryl, I don't give a crap what your sexuality is." You laughed. "It doesn't make you any different. And I promise I won't tell anyone."
She looked straight ahead, refusing to look at you. She kept a straight face. "So there's nothing wrong with me?"
"No." You urged.
"People look at me differently." Her voice was starting to waver.
"People look at you the same way they look at me. It's because of our crazy ass family, not your sexuality. Okay?"
"Okay." She sounded like she was crying. You gave her a side hug and put your head on her shoulder.
"Hey, this is kind of like our first date, huh?" She shrugged you off as you giggled.
She then got up and grabbed an outfit. You snorted and looked down at your hands, smiling. "What?"
You then quietly say, "You're in the closet." You bursted out laughing.
"Just put this on!"
You took a look at yourself in her mirror. You wore tight leather pants and a dark green crop top. You ran your hands over your stomach, not used to showing this much skin. "I feel like I look awkward."
"Nonsense, your greasy snake boyfriend with love it." She said, choosing to ignore the look you gave her. "Sit. I need to do your makeup."
She put a dark burgundy lipstick on you. She put on a small amount of eye liner and blush. She then put your hair in a half bun half down style.
She took a step back, examining her work. She then snapped her fingers, going into one of her many drawers. "Of course. You need a choker." The choker she handed you had a design of little black vines with tiny red roses on them. You put it on. "Perfect."
You smiled. "Okay, I usually hate taking pictures of myself, but I told my friends I would. Do you want to take some pictures together?" She smiled back.
After taking a few pictures, you went to your jacket and took out your camera from your pocket. "One more picture." She looked at it, amused. "Don't judge. This thing is special."
Cheryl led you downstairs, where her mom and grandmother still were. "Oh my," Nana Rose said. She reached out for your hands, which you took. "Are you going somewhere dear?"
"Yeah. I'm going somewhere with someone special."
She gently squeezed your hands. "Well have fun dear."
"Thank you so much." You smiled. "I'm so glad that Cheryl has at least one family member who isn't evil." She laughed in return, giving her daughter-in-law a look of triumph. She let go of your hands. "Bye guys."
As Cheryl compressed her laughter, she led you the door. "Have fun. Your serpent boy will be pleased with you."
"Thanks." You laughed. "You know, you and Toni would look really cute together."
She gave you an annoyed look. "Bye now." And with that she closed the door.
When you got home you texted a picture of yourself to your friends.

You checked the time. 4:50. You saw your forgotten groceries and decided to preoccupy yourself by putting them away. You finished a lot more quicker than you wanted and sat on the couch nervously.
You then heard a knock. You checked yourself though your phone and stuffed it in your pocket. You opened the door to a Sweet Pea who wasn't wearing his jacket. He only had his black flannel and a smile on his face.
"Wow."
-------
Author's Note: sorry that there was less Sweet Pea and more y/n in this part
-------
Also (pls read): I already have the gist of the date planned in my head. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions that I could add

It is my dad's birthday and my parents wedding anniversary and it's a full moon and it's Friday the 13th and it's the anniversary of Scooby-Doo. There's so much good and powerful energy today. Specifically I want to say happy birthday to my dad though because I love him so much and he's gone through so much in the last couple years but he is always attacked the day with kindness just like I tell everyone else to do. I hope you have a very good birthday and I love you and thank you for being my dad.
But on my end for the most part today was not my day. I just felt really sad. Frustrated. I just wanted to come home. And it wasn't even like a real reason just everything was wrong.
I woke up this morning and I felt fine. James had to leave early because he had to go to the dentist. But he made me a sandwich before he left because he's the best. And then I got ready and left it at the bus. But even though the ride was nice I was really early. Which is normally fine but I got to the building and it was locked and the lights were off. And my anxiety just absolutely peaked.
I was convinced that I wasn't supposed to be there and that we weren't supposed to come in or they were a different site and I was so upset and distressed and convinced I did something wrong. I stood outside for about 10 minutes and finally Sarah and the other Jessie came But anxiety was still pretty bad for most of the day because of that.
We spent the first hour just kind of brainstorming by ourselves. Coming up with ideas and figuring stuff out for our lesson plans. I had a lot of ideas already written down so I just did a bunch of research and started flushing things out a little bit more concretely.
For the most part it was a good guy. But then I realized I accidentally sent all of me and James's new gardening stuff to the old apartment and I was so bummed. I just felt so stupid and I just kind of sank into myself because I was so upset. James is an amazing boyfriend though and when I told him how upset I was he took the extra time between the dentist and having to go to work to go to the old apartment and get everything to bring back so I wouldn't be sad. He's so good.
But then my new phone was attempted to be delivered to the apartment and because it needed a signature they didn't leave it. I'm glad they didn't leave it but I thought they would take it to a pickup point. But they didn't. They're just going to wait till Monday and try again and I was so bummed out. I really wanted that to come today and when it didn't I was just like super sad. And I kind of just put a damper on the rest of the day for me. I was able to figure out how to make all of my UPS packages go to the pickup point from now on and so my phone will go there on Monday so I won't have to worry about not being here. But it's still a huge bummer and I feel very dumb. Thankfully it's not like my phone is broken. I was just excited about a new thing. I wanted to get it set up tomorrow while I was at the BMI since it will probably be slow. It's all right. I'll be fine.
We had a good afternoon at work though. We went through and talked about all of the artists that we were considering for research for testing our kids. And we went through a lot of really awesome artists and it was funny that me and fitsum or actually thinking about two artists that were very off the beaten path so that was cool. And I'm really pleased with the final list that we came up with. I am sad that one of the other side of Hope for got knocked off the list that doesn't mean I'm not going to teach you about her just that she's not going to be on the test. And I got my way on the layout of the semester's so that was cool.
We finished up a little bit early and I went to grab the bus but then miss Helene drove past me and stopped and she ended up giving me a ride to Dick Blick. I knew I wouldn't see James until much later because after he's done work he's going to go to his parents house to get the car and then he's going to go to the grocery store to get ready for our cookout tomorrow.
So I went in and I gave him a hug. His other manager made a joke that a customer wanted to see him very specifically. Made me laugh. And then I walked back here.
On my walk I ran into a co-worker from the BMI and that was cool. I posted in the group today about the job openings at access art and apparently everyone was talking about how great I am over there today and have felt really good. It's not the first time someone's told me that they talk about me over there and how they say a lot of positive things so that feels really cool I'm loved. I don't always feel that way. So it's nice to be reminded.
I had to make a stop at the hardware store to look for something for James but they didn't have it so I came back here. I did a whole bunch today actually. When I got back here I kind of snack and then I started working on some drawings. Our gardening stuff was here because of James so I made little tags for the all the herbs were going to put in there and the tomatoes. And then I set up the garden itself. I probably could have bought more rocks but I still think it'll be okay and I'm going to put all of the herbs in small Planters to start with anyway. And it was pretty excellent. It was fun playing in the dirt. I also dyed my hair so that I would look all nice tomorrow. And I worked on one of my Furby tarot cards. I'm actually going to go make something to eat and then do another one. My Hope Is that in the next week we'll get everything photograph so I want to have at least a couple cards finished. Start selling them as a small set.
James should be finishing work now and then he'll go start shopping for stuff. And I'm just going to hang out here. Hopefully he'll be home soon though because I miss him. I hope you guys all have a great night. Tomorrow I have work at the BMI and then we have our little get-together. I hope people come. Seems like it might be kind of small but I don't mind that. It'll be fun to show off our new place to everyone.
Be safe out there guys. Take care of each other. Good night.

150 Followers. Feel free to take this and use it yourself.
Okay so if you've been following me you know that at every milestone of 50 I go and answer 50 questions. So this time they're all gonna be Queen/Classic Rock specific and y'all are all welcome to take these and make asks out of them or reblog/copy with your own answers.
Favorite Queen member's solo album? Strange Frontier by Roger Taylor
Who of the band would you call to help you fix a flat tire? John, he's a dad and a diy guy, as much as I wanna say Rog I just don't want to deal with a drama queen when I'm having my own drama but I've seen him under the hood of a car so I've no doubt he probably knows how
What do you think Brian May smells like on am average day? Very woodsy, like pine needles and some light but expensive cologne
How would you kiss Freddie? On the cheek like a good friend I just can't get into his looks enough to think about kissing him any other way
How would you kiss John? Well if we're talking long haired fluffy John I'd probably psst at him to come around the corner and then give him a kiss and see what he does
How would you kiss Brian? Very carefully otherwise @squeezemylemon is gonna kill me so probably the sweet quick chaste type kiss
How would you kiss Roger? (My moment has come) I would walk up to him and grab ahold of one of the necklaces he wears and just pull his lips down to mine and crash mine onto his wrapping my arms around his neck kissing him for all I'm worth or less dramatically if we were just sitting on a couch or something I'd just lean my head up off his shoulder and press a gentler sort of kiss to his lips and see where he takes it after that
If you were going to date one of their kids who would it be? Felix, I'm partial to brunettes usually (Roger and Luke Skywalker are my exceptions) and he seems pretty cool and has done a lot of different things which would be interesting to talk about
Favorite gif of your least favorite band member?
10. Most recent Queen photo on your phone
11. Favorite piece of fanart?
I can't pick just one. I also don't remember where I found these and if you know the artist I'll happily tag them in the most. The artbis most definitely NOT mine
This is mine
12. Queen song that makes you want to cry? Love of My Life
13. Which band member would you pick to keep an eye on you at a party so you don't get too crazy and make it home safe? Brian probably, I would say John but I feel if he's drinking he'd be less than no help
14. Who's flat would you ask to crash at? I have reasons to want to say Roger's but banging aside I'd probably pick Freddie he was generous and funny and would probably do his beat to cheer me up from whatever circumstance had made me not have a place of my own to stay
15. Who would you want to teach you to play an instrument they play? Well I genuinely feel I'm best suited for drums so I'm not just saying Roger because he's my dude. Plus he could teach me the most instruments anyways considering as he knows drums, bass, electric, and keyboard.
16. If you could spend a day with Freddie what would you do? I'd just want to sit and have tea and talk and maybe go shopping later hear his advice and crack some jokes
17. Favorite solo song by a Queen band member? As far as written by goes, it's probably Let's Get Crazy or Happiness by Rog bit overall it's gotta be Rog's version of Racing in the Street *chills*
18. Favorite live performance?
youtube
19. Whose singing voice do you like best? Roger Taylor (nothing against Fresh he's amazing)
20. Whose speaking voice do you like best? Again Roger Meddows Taylor for the win
21. Write a snippet where you're holding hands with your least favorite band member.
Freddie had never been to an amusement park before, hadn't wanted to go really, but John had begged him to come along and then left him with Aston to babysit while he dealt with his actual children. It wasn't that she had anything against Fred it's just him tagging along on her elbow was keeping her away from the drummer whose attention she wanted. They got onto one of the rides and she saw how pale Freddie was looking and felt sorry for him. It wasn't his fault that he was being a third wheel or that the drummer was off on one of the more dangerous rides that Freddie was not about to get on.
"You can hold my hand if you want" Aston joked looking over at Fred.
"Really?" He asked a little relieved. The two of them chuckled and to Aston's surprise Freddie's black nail polished fingertips interlaced through hers and he looked a little more at ease for the comfort of human contact.
"It'll be fine" she grinned and then the ride took off and the black fingernails damn near dug into her hand in panic.
22. Write a snippet where you're fighting with your favorite band member.
They had been living together for just over two months and despite not knowing how to boil an egg Roger somehow found a way to get into the kitchen and put things in the wrong spot. He came home from the stall.
"Where is the paprika?" She leveled at him before he had scarcely shut the door.
"The what?"
"Paprika, Rog, the spice that I was going to use for the supper I was cooking us, but I can't ever find anything in this kitchen" Aston said muttering as an afterthought "thanks to you."
"What was that?" Rog said coming over to her and looking darkly with his blue eyes.
"Just tell me where you put the paprika and we'll be fine" she sighed.
"I didn't fucking touch anything in your stupid kitchen" he glowered going to the liquor cabinet.
"Well I still can't find it" she huffed.
"Not my problem" he said swigging straight from the bottle.
"Well if you want dinner it kind of is" she retorted.
"I'll get something out" Rog said dispassionately.
"Fuck you" she muttered and went back to banging through the cabinets in search of the missing spice. She was on her knees with half her body in a lower shelf looking in the back and growing hotter for Roger showing no signs of caring or helping. She smelt the dish starting to burn on the stove and tried to crawl out, raising her head up and whacking it on the shelf above. She let out a round of oaths.
She went over to the stove and moved it off the heat halfway between tears and screaming.
"I'll order something" Roger said standing up.
"I can fucking cook!" She shouted "if only I could find the things I need when I need them."
"Well don't yell at me about it" Roger said and brushed past and out the door.
Aston collapsed onto the floor sitting with her back to the cabinets and started crying. She sobbed into the kitchen towel. So much for her cosy dinner at home with Rog. She was so distraught that she didn't hear the door open and close. She felt her fingers clutching the towel pried open and looked to see a bottle of paprika put into them. She turned her teary red eyes up to Roger's face. He pulled her to her feet and held her in his arms. Softly stroking her hair and planting a gentle kiss to her cheeks.
"Come on, I got us reservations, you can cook your thing tomorrow if you still want to" he looked down at her smiling and put a kiss to her nose and grinned at her in his arms.
23. Favorite picture of Brian
24. Favorite picture Roger
(Well it's one of many favs)

31. What era of the band would you like to hang out with most? I wanna say mid to late 70s. I'd rather not have to hang out with them during Hot Space 😂
32. Favorite song on your favorite album? Rock It (Prime Jive)
33. Least liked song on your favorite album? Probably Play the Game
34. Who would you want to take care of you if you were sick? I feel Brian would be the most knowledgeable but I'd probably prefer Fred just cutting up and maybe grabbing the aspirins and whatever else was needed. I just don't feel Brian would be funny enough to cheer me up. And Rog I just don't know how good he'd be at taking care of someone
35. Who would you want to go driving with? Roger. Duh! So many reasons!
36. Who would you pick to spend a lazy (non-sexual) afternoon with? Well not that I'm just into Rog for the sex, he'd still be my first pick because laughs. But second would be Brian.
37. Rate how thirsty you are for each band member? Freddie 0/10. John variable between 0/10-6/10. Brian 2/10-4/10(red special is factored into Brian). Roger 1000/10 (cars aren't factored into Rog otherwise I'd break my phone adding zeros to that 1000)

40. Least favorite Freddie song? Body Language and Get Down Make Love
41. Favorite John song? One Year of Love or If You Can't Beat Them
42. Are you excited for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie? Yes. Not insanely. But moderately excited yes
43. Is Queen your favorite band of all time? No. They're in my top 3 but The Moody Blues were my childhood and are so unique and very special to me
44. If you married your crush from the band where would you go on your honeymoon? The beach. Hopefully the Pacific Ocean. Probably some nice private beach just to have space with each other and I love water and he loves boating and stuff.
45. Who has the nicest butt? While I prefer Rog's ass I must admit John possesses the superior booty
46. Who has the best smile? Roger. Hands down and not just because he's my main man all around it's literally made of sunshine
47. Who would you go to if you were scared? Roger. I don't get scared so if I did I'd want someone around to make me laugh my fears away
48. If you were going to be in a crime fighting/super hero duo with one of the band, who would it be? John. He's sound and sensible and so long as he can handle my forceful personality and not write any DISpatches raking my bad behavior and rash decisions we'll get along
49. Do you listen to Queen daily, or at least multiple times a week? Yes especially if you include their solo works
50. Have you written any Queen fanfiction or made any fanart? Yes. Fanfiction galore. Some has yet to be posted but when I do it will be on @drummerinthecupboard

Star Sign: Virgo
Gender: Gorl
Height: 5'9 (175 cm)
Sexuality: Lesbian
What picture's your wallpaper?: Three of Swords Tarot card
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?: Well, hopefully just happy. :/ Hopefully I won't be in Florida anymore, maybe I'll have started HRT, and hopefully I'll have a better idea of what I'm trying to do with my life. There's a handful of ways the next few years of my life could impact where I'm at in 10 years, so who knows. I should have a good kitchen tho.
If you could be anywhere else, where would you be?: I really wanna be in the Pacific Northwest, either in Washington or Portland. Bonus points for being somewhere with a good food scene like Seattle
Coolest Halloween Costume: I wasn't allowed to celebrate growing up because I had evangelical cult parents, but I did this for work last halloween, so that was fun?
Fave 90s show: Uhh. Well I have good memories associated with Full House funnily enough lmao. My whole family used to sit on the couch and watch together before stuff got bad. And then of course theres too many cartoons for me to be able to think of a fave tbh.
Last kiss: gf @cxrpseycxla
Have you ever been stood up?: God yeah lmfao, I was getting flaked on like. Every single week for a couple months for a while lmfao.. and it was the same person like 3/5 of the times it happened lmao
Have you ever been to Vegas?: I've never even been to Nevada tbh. Vegas is in Nevada right?
Fave shoes: uhh, I honestly wear my black work shoes everywhere :/ I have some cute platform Demonia's I wore to prom tho. Also am looking to buy my first pair of Doc Martin's soon.
Fave fruit: Loquats!!! Nobody knows what I'm talking about literally any time I've mentioned these, but they're so fucking good. They don't sell them in stores ever?? I've literally only ever seen them on trees. One time I saw a tree hanging out over a person's fence and I climbed high enough to pull down a branch with fruit on it. And it was like. By a busy street, so like tons of cars could definitely just see this 16 year old kid on the side of the road jumping and hanging on to branches n shit lmao...
Stupidest thing I've ever done: uhhhh I have no idea tbh.. I do stupid shit constantly, but like. It's to be funny mostly and I usually embrace it, but aside from that, uhhh at my graduation, my graduation cap fell off my head when I went to grab my diploma, and the whole auditorium of like hundreds of parents and students all saw lmfao. And then later when we tossed the caps into the air, I just. YEETED it, like everybody else was able to grab their caps after they threw them, but mine was all the way on the other side of the room lmao....
Fave book: I used to be that kid who was reading like... The Hobbit in 6th grade, but depression and ad/HD wrecked me really bad with reading for fun.. :'/ I wanna say the last book I got pretty into were the Harry Potter books even though that's pretty cheesy and JK Rowling is super annoying. Especially lately.
Fave gif: This one of me effortlessly dodging a hotdog my coworker threw at me that one time tbh.
If anybody feels like doing this, go for it, just tag me in it so I can see lmao
