#if reading books is inherently political and engaging in books enough to discuss the dynamics characters plot and themes is also political#and thats why its so important to dismantle fandoms like hp and marauders#because even if you arent buying the books and you've stopped reading them#youre still engaging in a jkrs work and thats more political than you believe#do i think that productive discussions should be had about jkr? yes#but a large portion of fandom is also fanart/fics/sustaining jkrs legacy#and this is why i urge people to read books that are by poc/queer/women authors#because its all so very political#i feel like this is a hot take? its certainly an uncomfortable convo for many#but its valid i think#fandom
