Hugh McDowell is my favorite LazyTown character
#joke post#electric light orchestra#hugh mcdowell#fun fact hugh mcdowell actually got me into robbie rotten fanfiction for a few days#this was like in late september to very early october#yeah that was a really strange phase#but that’s not a bad thing#lazytown is actually a really good show#it doesn’t even talk down to its audience as its main demographic is kids#specifically toddlers to kidnergarteners I think(?)#regardless I just like how it feels like a general audience show like spongebob yet it’s supposed to be something akin to dora or paw patrol#which isn’t bad I just really am not into cartoons like that#but again LazyTown is an exception as it feels different#idk I just know that I was obsessed with it when I was 4-5 so I think it is one of those types of cartoons#speaking of which I really do think that there should be more shows like this

Baby Show Villain Tournament: FINALS
One last time: PEEP THE BRACKET.
It's been a crazy ride. People have been going for their faves to win this thing, but in the end... It was a really unsurprising outcome, actually.
We have Robbie Rotten, the dealer's choice character who is unbelievably memetic. He decimated, to the point where one of his rivals only received ONE VOTE! We have Dr. Two Brains, a character who was a front runner from the start, receiving some detailed nominations and also decimating in every comp he was in, up against some pretty tough comp!
So, who's gonna win? Let's find out now! RIGHT NOW!
Propaganda under the cut:
Robbie (Dealer's Choice): "robbie rotten sweep omfg"
Dr. Two Brains: "I didn’t already nom him??? He’s funny I love the silly mad scientists in these shows and also he just wants to eat cheese how can you NOT like him"
"Hes your classic mad scientist type! Hes voiced by Tom Kenny so hes got great voice work and is so cool and awesome. he taught wordgirl how to be a hero before turning evil so theres cool dynamic stuff there! hes also kinda gay"
"If two brains doesn’t win I’m committing so many atrocities, anyways have you seen this man? His origin story is so tragic yet silly and and he’s the number one villain so if he wins it would fit his character so much ☹️☹️😭😭☹️☹️ and and he was/is such a role model to wordgirl and and did you know he’s also trans yeah he told me the other day and and explodes"
"TWO BRAINNNNNSSSSS FOR THE WINNN
"
"YOU WILL VOTE FOR TWO BRAINS!!!! THIS IS FAIR CITYS NUMBER ONE CRIMINAL WE ARE NOT LETTING HIM LOSE THAT TITLE!!!!! VOTE FOR THE SILLY SCIENTIST MOUSE MAN!!!!!"

About Reblog Graphs
Have you ever clicked on the "reblog graph" button of a post? I think they're one of the... well, maybe not greatest features on tumblr ever (polls are probably better), but they're still pretty darn neat.
I want to show some cool patterns I noticed on some recent posts of mine, but first I'll explain how reblog graphs work so you can more easily follow along.
This is pretty long with a bunch of pictures, so click the cut to read more.
How reblog graphs work
If you've never done so before, I invite you to click the notes button on this or any other post and then the icon with four circles. You will then see a bunch of dots connected by lines.
For example, if you click the graph for the "blorbo in Elvish" post, you get something like this:
Now, let's zoom in a bit. You can do this by using the mouse wheel and clicking and dragging around the graph until it's showing what you want. (I don't know how it works on mobile, but presumably it's similar to using Google maps?)
This next screenshot is the bit in the lower right of the graph shown above. However, the graph may not always display in the same way because reblog graphs are re-generated each time you click the "reblog graph" button.
Here you can see that I'm viewing the root post, which is the original post made by me. It's indicated by a circle with a dot inside. You can also see that six people reblogged that post. Each reblog shows as a dot with a line connecting it to the post it was reblogged from.
Now here's a cool thing about reblog graphs: they're interactive! You can click on any dot and see the post it represents and the reblog chain that led to it.
For example, clicking this dot that has several lines emanating out from it shows that it is "2 reblogs deep" and was posted by @cycas.
Got it? Close enough? Cool, now let me show you some neat things I noticed. :D
The Swedish Chef poll and very popular bloggers
My polls tend to average between 500 and 2000 votes, depending on subject matter. The Swedish Chef poll, however, took off and eventually garnered over 22,000 votes. How did that happen? A very popular blog reblogged it about five days in.
Initially, the graph looked like this. (This is the first 200 reblogs.) There's nothing unusual here. You can see that the root post had several reblogs, and that there's another cluster developing around a post by @zagreus. There are also several reblog chains where just one person reblogs someone else's reblog. Some of these chains peter out, while others find their way onto the dash of more popular bloggers, creating clusters.
A quick note about "popularity"
Yes, yes, it's all about "popular." However, it's not just about having a bunch of followers. What's more important is that the "popular" person reblogging your post has followers who are specifically interested in your post.
For instance, if I, @sillylotrpolls, make a poll about LazyTown, it's probably not going to get very many reblogs because my followers aren't here for that. However, if @silly-lazytown-polls reblogs the poll, that reblog might then get quite a lot of reblogs itself. It's not that silly-lazytown-polls has more followers than sillylotrpolls, it's that it has more followers specifically interested in LazyTown content. Make sense?
Back to the Swedish Chef poll
The poll eventually got over 5,000 reblogs. Since you can only add 200 reblogs to the graph at a time, you can roughly see how a post spread over time.
With 600 reblogs loaded, a new cluster bursts onto the scene. This is @bunjywunjy, who reblogged the post from @beecreeper who reblogged it from @soggypotatoes who reblogged the original.
Bunjywunjy didn't add any tags or comments, so I didn't even notice at first because it didn't show in my activity feed. However, I did notice a sudden uptick in notes on the post, which caused me to investigate. It had been five days since I posted the poll, and usually polls that are going to take off do so sooner than that.
By continuing to click the "load more reblogs" button I can see how the post further spread, especially from bunjywunjy's post.
When the post reached @beggars-opera (whose icon I am somewhat proud to announce I identified on sight), they added a screenshot of @stylishanachronism 's tags which said:
# all of these are incorrect it's the 'meat's back on the menu boys!' scene
This would become the dominant version of the post as it further spread. Interestingly, this was the only reblog of stylishanachronism's reblog. Literally thousands of people loved their tags and agreed with them, but they quite plausibly never saw it unless they specifically went looking.
By 3,200 reblogs, you can see even bigger clusters developing. @thebibliosphere shows up 10 reblogs deep, and leads to yet another cluster via @teaboot (12 reblogs deep).
Eventually, with all 5,371 reblogs loaded, the reblog graph looks like this:
Like I said: neat. :D
Cool, but if you've seen one, you've seen them all - right?
So what prompted this (extremely long) post was actually the reblog graph for my poll on inspirational LotR quotes.
Here's the reblog graph with 200 reblogs loaded:
And here's the graph with all 1,890 reblogs loaded:
It's just one big cluster around the root post. I've never seen that before!! Almost everyone reblogging this post saw it either because they follow this blog, saw it in the #lotr tags, or because their non-influencer friend reblogged it. (Or maybe it was in some kind of algorithm/the explore feed, but I have nearly zero experience with those.)
And this wasn't just a small post. This poll got over 15,000 votes and more than 4,000 notes. That puts it in the top 10 polls for this blog.
What does it mean? I have no idea. I would really like to know! But really, I got nothing. If you have a theory for why this particular poll should result in a reblog graph like this, I would very much like to hear it.
Orphan clusters
To round things off, I'd like to show another interesting facet of reblog graphs: orphan clusters.
This blog's current undisputed poll champion is the fmk wheel poll. That's not really a surprise, as it combined sex with a fun game where you just had to tell everyone what you got, which meant either a reply or a reblog. So it spread pretty far.
However, if you look at the graph, there's something odd going on.
This is with just 200 reblogs loaded:
Notice how some of the dots don't connect to the root post? That's because somewhere along the chain, a reblog was deleted.
This cluster in the bottom left got pretty big! This screenshot is at 800 reblogs loaded. The missing link is from a blog called @gendertaliban that doesn't exist anymore, as near as I can tell. That makes it impossible to trace the full path of any of these reblogs.
In conclusion
This concludes today's deep dive into a tumblr feature you probably never paid any attention to. Admittedly, there's not a huge use for it outside of determining which of your mutuals is an "influencer," and they get quite difficult to navigate after loading about 1000 reblogs, but I hope you enjoyed staring at dots and lines with me. :)
#data analysis#tumblr#reblog graphs#data visualization#not a poll#admin#yes I KNOW I keep saying I'm going to come up with a proper 'misc' tag#there will come a day when I properly categorize and tag my 'admin' posts#today is not that day

I was forced to watch kids cartoon called Sheriff Labrador and I'm too embarrassed to admit that I kinda enjoyed it (-_-;)
Long chatter below (it is long. I'm not joking)
So umm basically it's a Babybus YouTube cartoon and it is exactly the quality you expect from youtube kids show
It's not secretly good or something the whole family can enjoy like "Bluey". It's just okay and yet here I am dumping bunch of art about it, idk how this works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My sibling made me watch it and while I'm at it let me tell you about some things I actually enjoyed about this cartoon
Umm first of all if I watched this cartoon as a kid I just know I would've had a huge crush on this fucking cartoon Labrador, he's just the type I really liked (still do) — responsible, perfect, good at everything adult in kids show (the other character close to this is Sportacus from "Lazytown" which I did watch as a child and did have a crush on this sports dude so that checks out)
Second — the themes. This cartoon teaches kids safety so I expected some basic stuff like "Don't play with fire" or "Don't cross the road on red". And I was actually surprised when the first ever episode I saw was about food delivery and how you should always read reviews before ordering something online. Idk maybe I haven't watched modern kids show in a while but I think it's cool that they talk about that kind of stuff (and ! there was also an episode about AI face swapping! wow modern problems ig)
Also an episode that stuck with me was about a pool. I saw the video preview and thought "yeah pools.. don't run.. don't drown.. basic stuff" and while later I discovered that they have an episode about safety at pools, this specific episode was about something else. It taught children to never go with strangers anywhere and never let them touch your private parts. The episode literally showed a bad character grabbing the child and taking him away, then the child was rescued when police came in with the words "Don't touch the child, that's illegal!"
I'm writing this not because I "criticize" the show for it, I actually think it's important to show what actually can happen to you if you go with strangers, it was just a surreal experience when I watched two cartoon police dogs arresting a cartoon representation of an actual pedophile and then hearing this said character cry and say "I'm sorry, I won't do this again!" Like...wow... I fucking hope you won't because you're going to cartoon jail forever 💀
I also was really surprised when I discovered the show actually has small fandom on tiktok let's goo??
TL;DR This is a show for little kids and I accidentally got hooked because of my sibling

Worm Arc 6 thoughts:
Holy shit what an arc.
ABB is brought down, Lung is in the Birdcage. I'm sure the Birdcage will keep it's escape proof status forever and he will never be a problem again.
Some great Chatterbug moments. I'm still team Wolfspider if I had to pick one, but I don't see a reason I have to pick one.
LazyTown call out. The second "pink wig" and "pirate" were said I was pulling up the YouTube video.
Nothing like spending time putting IKEA furniture together with a cute boy. IKEA, the true furniture of romance.
Brian's sister is fun. I expect we'll get to see a lot more of her. Hope she gets a cool power.
The fucking attack on the gala OH MY GOD! Just coming in through the fucking roof, taking out most of the opposition in seconds. Christ they went all in.
I hope Emma got stung a lot. I'm pretty sure Sophia is Shadow Stalker (though not positive) so I hope she got stung too.
Taylor fucking figuring out how to get them all out of there? How to beat Polearm Man? Fucking jumping under the halberd to prevent the bug zapper from happening? Goading him? Ok so tossing the halberd off the roof didn't end up being as useful as she hoped, but still! THAT'S MY FUCKING GIRL!
I did enjoy watching Metalstick McGee get the absolute shit kicked out of him in the parking garage. (Can you tell I never liked the guy?)
Dauntless could empower literally anything. Fucking ANYTHING. And he just went for a standard spartan getup. So boring OMG. Get a whip or a super-soaker or fucking anything interesting god damn.
Did not expect Coil to be the secret boss, caught me off guard. His powerset is pretty interesting. I hope he isn't too horrible of a person.
Holy fuck the scene with Taylor's dad. Fucking locking her in the room to force a confrontation. God damn. He clearly does care about her but man does he not do the right thing to show it. My man fucked the hell up. Lisa to the rescue though, all the more reason for her to be one of my favorites.
Taylor finally lets herself just be a supervillain! YAAAAAYYYY! Go get em champ, make mommy proud!
Interlude thoughts - Well it sure fucking sucks to be Paige don't it.
#Worm#Worm Web Serial#Parahumans#Cairavende reads Worm#Taylor Hebert#I would read an entire arc that was nothing but “Batman if Bruce Wane was scared of polearms instead of bats” getting fucking destroyed#My daughter is a god damn supervillain and now she KNOWS IT!#Lisa messed with Taylor's while calling her an angel. Chatterbug confirmed (Smugbug if you prefer).#Chatterbug#Smugbug

Ever since I've saw a drawing here in which Li'l D and the other six represent deadly sins...
Here's my explanations on why they represent those deadly sins:
Li'l D as envy - Li'l D represents envy because in the original show (but even now in the 'back to the SING!' reboot), he's always seen as if he wants to be just like hero and idol (adopted father in the reboot) Sunny, to be as amazing as him.
Madison as lust - Madison represents lust because she constantly in the original show (even in the 'back to the SING!' reboot), she seemingly just loves everyone no matter what, even if they're the antagonists, she still loves them all.
Philly Phil as gluttony - Philly Phil represents gluttony because in the original show (yet again, even in the 'back to the SING!' reboot), he's often seen eating any kind of food, ESPECIALLY chocolate. But as one example of the other food part, in the episode "the devil and li'l D", he just eats the kinda awful looking popcorn, and in that same episode, he eats half of Sunny's cake without asking.
Tamika as wrath - Tamika represents wrath because in the original show (and the 'back to the SING!' reboot), she has extreme anger and will literally get mad at everyone, for example: in the episode "tamika and the beast", she got very mad at the people in the shop when she was kinda lovey-dovey with Beast.
Eddie as greed - Eddie represents greed because in the original show (and in the 'back to the SING!' reboot), he is often seen being greedy because of how rich he is.
Kim as sloth - I... Honestly don't know how is Kim representing sloth... But if y'all have explanations, tell me in the replies, but mostly reblogs!
Kam as pride - Kam represents pride because in the original show (and the 'back to the SING!' reboot), he is often seen bragging about how he's the most mature and smartest in the group and the show.
And those are my explanations! And I even honestly wanna see Jessii Vee making a video about class of 3000... Even lazytown and happy appy! 0.0
#emin rambles#class of 3000#co3k#class of 3000 fandom#class of 3000: back to the sing!#co3k:btts!#co3k:btts! stuff#co3k li'l d#co3k madison#co3k philly phil#co3k tamika#co3k eddie#co3k kim#co3k kam#seven deadly sins

The Fae Bride
Chapter 1
Evening was falling over LazyTown and in the home of Mayor Meanswell, his niece Stephanie invited her friends over for a sleepover. Ziggy, Pixel, Stingy, Trixie and Stephanie were all having a blast, dancing and playing video games. Soon enough sleep was compelling them to their sleeping bags, however they found themselves still too riled to fall asleep.
“How about a bedtime story to help us fall asleep faster?” suggested Ziggy.
“That’s a great idea, Ziggy.” Stephanie agreed;”Only what kind of story do we all want?”
“Fairy Tales”
“Action”
“Romance”
“Treasure”
All the friends were soon back and forth on what story they all wanted to hear, however their bickering must have been too loud when they heard a voice announce itself from the doorway.
“Oh my children, what's with all the commotion?”
“Sorry Uncle Milford, we just can’t decide on a story to help us fall asleep.”
“Oh. Well what were you all looking for in a story?”
As the kids all voiced what they wanted Mayor Meanswell was getting overwhelmed. Now normally the Mayor would have called for Sportacus’ help, but a look at the clock indicated that the hero of Lazytown was surely asleep by now.
Mayor Meanswell racked his brain and suddenly he remembered something that might just do the trick.
“One moment children, I’ll be right back.”
Exiting the room and rummaging through the hallway closet the children were puzzled about what the Mayor could be retrieving. After a few minutes, Mayor Meanswell returned with an old, dusty hardcover book which he proceeded to dust off.
“Ah yes, this story should definitely do the trick. You know my grandparents used to read me this story a long time ago to help me sleep, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well.”
“What’s the title of the story, Uncle Milford?”
“The Fae Bride, my dear. A story about love, action, revenge and fantasy.”
Mayor Meanswell moved over to his comfy armchair where he settled on and opened the book to begin the story.
“Robin, a tall black haired man with stormy grey eyes, lived with his grandfather on a secluded farm in the land of Akreyri. Robin enjoyed the solitude of his grandfather’s farm where he enjoyed inventing and riding his horse, but Robin’s favorite pastime was tormenting the blond, muscular blue eyed farm boy Alexander.
“Farm boy.” Robin called.
“Please see to it that my saddle is polished, I wish to see my reflection on it.”
“As you wish.”
The reply irked Robin because no matter what order he gave Alexander he never got riled up. With a muffled ‘thank you’ Robin stomped away completely missing the small smile forming on Alexander’s face.
As time passed Robin continued to give Alexander orders and his reply would still be the same. It soon dawned on Robin that when Alexander responded with “As you wish” what he really meant was “I love you.” Robin soon found himself becoming attracted to the muscular Alexander and soon found himself falling in love with him.
One day as Robin was working in the makeshift kitchen. Alexander entered with wood for the fireplace, however before his foot stepped over the threshold of the door, Robin heralded; “Farm Boy”
Alexander turned to face Robin, a stotic look upon his face. Robin looked around for anything for Alexander to do until his eyes landed on what he was looking for.
“Can you hand me that pitcher up there?”
Alexander slowly strode forward and reached to remove the pitcher from the hook above Robin, then handing it delicately to Robin, he gently replied;
“As you wish.”
Robin lightly blushed, giving a small smile to Alexander to which he returned.
It was after that moment that Alexander and Robin grew closer together and thus shared a part of themselves that the other trusted to keep secret.
Alexander had revealed himself to be an elf, who traveled far seeking his brother, who he hadn’t seen in years. His search halted when he found work on Robin’s grandfather's farm and had fallen in love with Robin. Robin in turn revealed himself as a fae who was placed in his grandfather’s care by a cousin, who supposedly was his only surviving relative, but he too had also faded into obscurity.
“I swear to you, Robin. Together we will make our family whole again.”
Alexander vowed while gently taking hold of Robin’s hands. Hearing this proposal and staring into Alexander’s blue eyes, Robin clearly saw the truth and devotion of his words and without a second thought displayed his wings to him. Alexander stood in shock and awe for he knew that in fae customs displaying of the wings meant Robin chose him as his life partner.
Robin blushed while showing a sincere smile, while Alexander did the same and as he put his hand on Robin’s cheek guiding Robin’s head toward him to share their first kiss….
“EWWWWW”
Mayor Meanswell paused in his storytelling, surprised by the children’s sound of disgust.
“Oh children, is there a problem with the story?”
“No Uncle Milford, it’s just you said this story would have action and stuff.”
“Oh, well it does..”
“Yet we’re just hearing about them kissing” injected Stingy; “Is this going to be a kissing book?”
Before the children could protest, Mayor Meanswell reassured them with a wave of his hand; “ Now children, be patient this story is at the beginning. It will get better, believe me. Now where did I leave off?” Mayor Meanswell then turned to the next page and continued…
Alexander had no money for marriage and with his brother still out there he came to the decision to strike out on his own to find work and hopefully along his travels reunite with his brother. For Robin, this would be the toughest farewell after the loss of his grandfather. As the two shared a last loving embrace, Robin couldn’t help but to ask;
“I fear I’ll never see you again.”
“You will, I promise.”
“How can you be so positive?” Robin frustratedly said, eyes wavering with tears.
Alexander placed his hand upon Robin’s cheek guiding him down to stare at his blue eyes, so calm and reassuring.
“Hear this now, I will always come back for you.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“This is true love. Do you think this happens everyday?”
Alexander and Robin shared one last embrace and a chaste kiss before Alexander departed. Unfortunately Alexander never made it to his destination. His ship was attacked by the Dread Pirate Robert, who left no prisoner alive.
When Robin heard news of Alexander’s demise. He became a recluse, shutting himself in his room for days with neither food nor drink. As Robin stared at the roaring fire from his chair, he silently vowed;
“I will never love nor display my wings again.”

Have you been playing the NYT Connections puzzle? I recently got hooked and discovered a site that lets you make your own. Of course I made one for LazyTown. :)
Click here to solve LazyTown puzzle #1.
Hopefully it's not too hard or too easy. Let me know what you think!
You can share your results without spoiling the game by clicking the "Share Results" button when you finish. It will give you something like this to copy-paste:
🟪🟨🟩🟦 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟦🟦🟦🟦
That means my first guess was super wrong, but then I solved the green category, then the yellow one, then purple, and finally blue.
A copy of the NYT rules is below the cut if you've never done this kind of puzzle before.
How to Play
Find groups of four items that share something in common.
Select four items and tap 'Submit' to check if your guess is correct.
Find the groups without making 4 mistakes!
Category Examples
FISH: Bass, Flounder, Salmon, Trout FIRE ___: Ant, Drill, Island, Opal
Categories will always be more specific than "5-LETTER-WORDS," "NAMES" or "VERBS."
Each puzzle has exactly one solution. Watch out for words that seem to belong to multiple categories!
Each group is assigned a color, which will be revealed as you solve:
Yellow (easiest) Green Blue Purple (hardest)

the general audience versus the rest of us
this analysis is not to degrade anyone outside of or in the fandom, it’s simply to showcase how differently people remember phineas and ferb. there are a number of topics I will delve into, all of which are lovingly put into sections under the cut. so, with no further ado… enjoy!
how normal people watch it
so if you’re like me and watched pnf occasionally on tv growing up you’ll remember bits of the show. you’ll remember it’s repetitive and episodic nature, the way everything goes back to how it was at the start of the day. phineas and ferb think of something to do, candace attempts to bust them, perry fights doofenshmirtz, and doofs machine makes phineas and ferb’s invention disappear, sticking to the status quo of what linda typically sees. it’s predictable, but not in the sense that you necessarily know what’s going to happen. maybe you do, or something happens that subverts your expectations. the “typical phineas and ferb episode structure” (or TPNFES, I’m calling it that now) is how a lot of people who haven’t seen the show in a while will remember it. or maybe not. maybe they remember doof making an inator that does x. or they remember the aglet song (never forget ze aglet!). it’s typically something you’d have seen at least a couple of times during its original run.
and no, of course there’s no problem with only remembering one or two things about a show from your youth. I personally watched a lot of shows as a kid that I don’t remember a thing about. yeah I watched LazyTown when I was like four but if you asked me the plot of any episode I would NOT be able to tell you. and it’s because it wasn’t something I was really interested in. and of course, kids can be interested in shows and know a lot about them and then hit their teen years and not remember much about them later. but if they go back and absorb that content again? they see stuff they missed the first time, or stuff they definitly remember. hell, they might even sing along to A.G.L.E.T. because as everyone knows, pnf lyrics stay with you forever. (even if you haven’t heard the theme song in a decade you won’t forget the lyrics. that shit is hardwired into you from the moment you first see it.)
my point is, a casual viewer doesn’t do anything more than just… watch the show. hell, sometimes they don’t even watch it, they’ll have it on in the background while they’re on their phone or doing something else (couldn’t be me!!). watching the canon content just once gives them the satisfaction of starting and ending the show. they don’t go into detail about it. they probably won’t open an ao3 tab the moment the last episode finishes. they won’t make a tumblr sideblog dedicated to understanding the intricacies of character arcs, their goals and ideals and how they interact with others. they don’t care enough to do that bc it doesn’t make their brain go insane for more knowledge about the show. and as strange as it sounds, they don’t have it on their minds for that long. yeah, maybe theyll think about how nice the songs were in that s4 finale but after that, that’s it. they’ll move onto something else.
how I watched it
I watched phineas and ferb as a kid. I’m pretty sure I watched it when it first aired, too. perhaps not in 2007, it might have been the year after when it actually started premiering (nz airing is so far behind it’s not even funny). I watched it as it aired, and then grew out of it around the middle of s3. I got a little older, started watching different shows, and I was just generally doing other stuff. I have a vivid memory from 2012 when a kid from my class told me that pnf wasn’t worth watching bc the same thing happens every episode and my socially inept ass went “omg ur so right” and I stopped watching it. fast forward a couple of years and I hear that the show is like, actually finally ending. idk why but I remember it being in 2014, not 2015 when it actually did air (the pnf wiki doesn’t have the date for the nz airing of last day of summer so I guess we'll never know if it aired early or not) but I watched it and kinda just carried on with my other interests at the time.
around 2017, I start talking to an internet friend from the same country as me. we talked about our upbringings and stuff we used to watch on tv, and she brings up phineas and ferb. aha! I know that one! it encourages me to rewatch the show and before I know it, I’m shoulder deep. i mention facts about it to real life friends and family (“there’s a pnf episode where…”) and I go hunting for interviews and comic-con panels with the whole cast on youtube. you know how it is. I start going through the posts on tumblr and I find a sibling show of sorts – one that also has a crossover planned for 2018. I watch that show. I lurk in the shadows of the tumblr tag for a while. I start writing fic. I draw the characters on any piece of paper I can get my hands on.
it all comes to a head in october 2018, when I wrote a phinjeet fic called cappuccino, and one of my favourite artists EVER made fanart of it. and obviously, I had to put it somewhere. I’d thought about making a dwampy sideblog for ages and had no idea what to call it or anything, but this was all the encouragement I needed. I made the sideblog. I reblog the art. then I went through my likes and got some of the pnf/mml posts out. fast forward almost five years, and here we are. still just as insane, just with a new username.
in short — no, my experience watching pnf is not one of those typical of a general audience member. I mean, it would have been, if not for that fateful conversation with my internet friend that basically rebooted me and quite literally rewired my brain to be insane about this cartoon universe. I’m not by any means a casual viewer of this show. I know more than an average person would about it, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I adore this little community of ours. and being able to crack out of context jokes that come from the shows to older people who I know have never seen it, well, it’s a cherry on top.
both the GA and the fandom contribute to the culture staying alive
there’s certainly a way that the general audience keeps pnf alive, even if they have no idea they’re doing it. they’ll make very generic memes about it (you know the ones I’m talking about) and they’ll circulate the internet for a bit, reminding everyone about the show they watched casually as a kid. us, on the other hand, make very very niche memes about it. like hieroglyphics. and combovers. (see what I did there?) ours tend to stay in our little circulation, minus the ones that break containment. you get it in any fandom though, it’s certainly not limited to us.
as many times as you’ll see the posts that attempt to explain the ‘doof is phineas dad theory’, you’ll see just as many responses debunking it. or seeing dan and swampy debunk it, as they should. (honestly I think we need like crystal fucking clear evidence in the reboot to explain it otherwise it’s just gonna keep happening.)
the circulation of phineas and ferb itself through any means, be it memes or actual conversation that prompts a rewatch or even just a memory of the show, keeps the show relevant. I think one of the more notable ways this has happened is dan povenmire getting tiktok famous and basically reminding every older gen z kid about the show. to quote jeff swampy marsh – “plus there’s always reruns so the show will never die” – sure, disney channel itself barely exists anymore but reruns can also kinda be translated into disney+ rewatches or even just the passage of a meme on the internet.
phineas and ferb has stayed, somewhat, consistently relevant. I mean, think about it. since pnf started airing, there hasn’t been a year (except for 2021) where nothing has happened. pnf aired from 2007-2015, milo murphy’s law aired from 2016-2019 (which includes phineas and ferb characters so I count it as pnf content) and catu came out in 2020. dan’s own show hamster and gretel started airing in 2022, and based on the poster, I don’t think we’ll be missing any phineas and ferb characters at all. dan basically confirmed it. and truly, it’s what keeps the show alive, even when it’s not really there.
things in the show that the ga have very different opinions on, re:
candace and jeremy’s relationship
something the general audience haven’t caught up with yet is the way that candace and jeremy interact within the show. sure, if you haven’t watched it since you were 10 then you probably remember candace being like insane and loud about the boy she’s obsessed with. if you watch it again, you’ll see that jeremy is almost just as bad. it’s just downplayed because he’s not a main character. we don’t see his perspective NEARLY as much as we see candace’s, which might make it seem a bit more one sided or unrequited than it actually is.
in the episode “backyard aquarium” from early s2, we’re shown a montage of both candace and jeremy trying to ring each other for a whole day, until candace goes to bust her brothers and forgets about her phone for a little moment. this gives jeremy time to leave eleven messages for her. obsessed much? (it’s actually kinda sweet) and yeah, they’re teenagers. every feeling seems way more amplified than it actually is so both of them getting upset that they cant contact each other is pretty realistic, even if it is just played for laughs.
there’s a lot of really thorough characterisation when it comes to both of them. mostly with candace, obviously, she is THEE main character of the show so clearly she’s deep and very fleshed out. we don’t see it as much with jeremy but we get pretty good glimpses of it when it’s shown. he’s got the picture of her from “the bully code” in his guitar case. he likes her so much! he put her picture in the place he keeps one of his favourite things!! he’s down so bad for her! but of course, if you don’t actually pay attention or care especially about any of that stuff, you’re going to miss it and generalise about it. and it unfortunately applies to quite a few things in the show. sigh.
doof’s relationship with his parents
for real, fuck those guys. I think the ga are pretty aware of this part, and if you asked anyone to say what one of doofs backstories are they’d probably say “his parents didn’t show up for his birth!” or “he was a lawn gnome!”. both of which are specifically tied to his abhorrent relationship with his parents. but what they potentially don’t remember is how he still tries to gain their affections anyways. it’s the classic trope of not being able to cut off your abusers simply because you just can’t, morally. you still want to prove yourself to them and make them see you’re worth having around even if they never liked you in the first place. heinz tries very hard both in his youth and in the show itself to gain affection from both his mother and father. these include:
the teddy bear and trying to be good at kickball (thaddeus and thor)
the original gnome (fathers day)
even the fucking clip show episode from the end of season 3 (this is your backstory) where his mother comes back and he goes in for a hug and is instead greeted with a smack. hmm.
even just those examples are enough evidence that yes, heinz did actually really try with his parents even if they didn’t care. and again, it’s unfortunately played for laughs that heinz is constantly beaten down by almost everything around him but as we know, he gets a real family at the end of the show and things seem to work out well for him. does he get closure with both of his parents by the end of s4? maybe not his mother, but sort of with his dad. and yeah, maybe they’ll get into that in the reboot. but it’s definitely something the ga never noticed. it’s always about laughing at his tragic backstories, even if that is the point of them, not necessarily feeling bad for him and wanting to see him come full circle with everything that’s happened to him. and it does!
isabella and her one (1) personality trait
according to the ga, isabella garcia-shapiro is a one dimensional character who’s only personality trait is having tunnel vision heart eyes for the boy across the street. is your blood boiling yet? mine is! isabella is one of the most fleshed out characters in the show, with a large family and interests outside of phineas. hell, she’s the leader of her fireside girls troop which is a huge part of her personality. she’s brave and strong and gives ominous patch related threats to a man almost five times her age. but no, the general audience will only ever see isabella as the girl obsessed with phineas. I’m not discrediting this at all because yes, she’s obsessed with him. she’s a simp. definitely nothing wrong with that at all! but the ga claiming that it’s her only personality trait? get fucking REAL this girl is deep and gets upset and anxious and emotional about things that have nothing to do with the boy she’s in love with. even if it does have something to do with that, she carries on anyway because she’s strong as hell. it’s not the first time a character has been like that on disney channel — I mean, kim possible was pretty boy crazy but her crime fighting always came first, right? (really showing my age with that reference. wow) and I hate to reference act your age bc it’s vile but she doesn’t only ever spend her time moping over phineas as a teenager, she keeps herself busy and helps her mom at the restaurant and is an RA at her college and does a whole heap of other things! she’s multifaceted and it’s what makes her a really compelling character to watch. and watering her down into just the girl who likes phineas is a huge discredit to her character.
so, where am I going with this?
I’m not saying ever general audience member has to rewatch phineas and ferb a million times to understand every single character arc. hell, I’m not even saying that they have to rewatch it at all. there’s such a huge divide when it comes to it, and obviously not everyone is going to experience everything the same way. a lot of people simply don’t care enough to crack open the psyche of every phineas and ferb character to understand their motivations. that’s just the freaks (affectionate) who roam on tumblr, eager for media analysis of a childrens cartoon that ended almost a decade ago.
for a lot of us, it’s very satisfying to be able to analyse specific media. there’s writers and storyboard artists that put all that stuff in the show for a reason, right? it makes us want to see parallels and understand where a characters moral alignment sits and why exactly buford speaks latin. and for others, they’ll simply watch a show and move on. there’s no need for them for it to be on their brain 24/7.
overall, there’s a stark difference in the way people watch a show as iconic and culturally significant as phineas and ferb. the general audience watches it very differently to us, and that’s okay! it happens with any piece of media. there’s casual fans that watch something once and then the very not casual fans who have it on the brain constantly. and then there’s fans that have been very absorbed in the fandom and move on, which again, you’ll get anywhere. nothing about the dwampyverse fandom is limited to us, in terms of the way things go (not the source media itself. name one other show that has anything REMOTELY similar to pnf happen in it.) most people know the show, and most people don’t know about the insane and obscure facts about it, and I think it’s fantastic.
goodnight tri-state area. thank you.
#phineas and ferb#cj writes unecessary analysis abt a show that ended almost a decade ago. nothing new here#in my insane era (again)#dwampyverse analysis

Lazytown Shenanigans Pt. 6
Yesterday I completely forgot to write a new post and only remembered to do it now... But we're back, dear people, and this time I'll ramble about only one episode: "The Last SportsCandy."
This time I took a couple of screenshots because one person asked me to do it, so that you understand what I'm talking about in some parts of this post 🙏
Well, let's begin!
"The Last SportsCandy."
The episode started with Robbie searching for Sportacus and wanting to feed him a sugar apple once again. Well, what can I say, the simp is simping as always, good for him /hj
But these dorks weren't the most important part of the episode, since, oh my god, there was something more interesting than that (I'm surprising myself a little by saying that to be honest), because the episode in general really was interesting to watch for me.
Before I get to the most exciting part of the episode, I want to point out that the scene in which Meanswell threw a sack at Stingy and made him shut up brought me a different kind of joy. 😈
Ok well, let's talk about the key part of the episode, finally. I should declare that Robbie is a fucking genius for making a time travel machine. I can't even imagine how he knew the mechanics of time travel and was able to make this idea a reality. And all that time travel concept is SO FREAKING AMAZING in my opinion, because we got to see some more different locations and even new characters once again!!
First of all, I will touch on the topic of the 1950s location. GUYS. THE WAY I GASPED WHEN I SAW THIS.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THOSE VIBES OF THE 50-80S' AND THIS SCENE MADE ME SO GIDDY AND HAPPY AND-
AND WAIT WAIT OMG IS THAT A REAL JOHNNY B??? I MEAN THIS GUY'S OUTFIT LOOKS IDENTICAL TO JOHNNY'S AND WELL. I THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN (if that's really him I'm going to cry out of joy, one of my favorite characters got some more screentime 😭)
And I am genuinely interested to know who these guys are. I sat for a long time, racking my head, trying to figure out who these guys were, but I had no idea. Maybe that's some of Lazytown's citizens who used to live there?..
(if they are not some canonical characters, I should make that blonde girl one of my original characters-)
Let's move on to the time when Johnny SportsCandyseed used to live (unfortunately I didn't remember the exact year, my apologies). OH MY GOD I REALLY LOVED THAT ONE AS WELL. I loved the monochromatic image of this time very much
AND GOOD LORD. ROBBIE'S — or, to be more precise, that Robbie version's — OUTFIT. JUST TAKE A LOOK (I also attached a clearer version; it's saved on my phone for some reason, and I don't remember where I found it)
It gives me the Wild West vibes, like really bad. If you guys follow me because of my NatM stuff, you know for sure how much I'm fond of those cowboy and Wild West themes, and Robbie's outfit kinda looks like it.
Also I'm really interested in knowing who this guy on the left is (maybe I'm just stupid and they said who he is in the episode, but I have no idea tbh)
At first I thought they were both some kind of odd version of Robbie and Sportacus (because the guy on the left looks somewhat like Robbie and Johnny's voice sounds very similar to Sportacus' to my hearing), although that's not true lol. I'm just silly
But I should say that Johnny is probably my new favorite Lazytown character. He is such a silly and goofy man, I'm not sure why but I really like him 🥺💜
I think that's all I wanted to say about the time-traveling part. Also I may be mistaken, but Robbie's "Oops, I did it again" line from the song was a reference to Britney Spears' song. You can hit me baby one more time on my head if I'm wrong guys, I don't mind /j
In the final part of this rambling I would like to say that I was so fucking amused at the rescue scene; the way Sportacus dropped Robbie like a sack of potatoes (while he was in a literal sack) CRACKED ME UP, WHAT WAS THAT 😭😭
In general, I quite liked that episode, mostly because of the aforementioned new characters and locations. It was very well done and shown, and because of that I can say that this episode borders on being my favorite 🤓👍
Thank you guys for your attention, as always. Have a good day 💜

Heem, last night I had a dream that I was my lazytown insert and I had this diary I didn't really enjoy writing in but I did anyway to get my feelings out, and Sportacus found it somehow when it got left somewhere and he left a letter inside talking about how much he values me as a person and likes me 😭😭
#jane journals#self insert talk#🍎 apple of my eye 🍎#it wasnt necessarily a love letter#maybe we just weren't really ready for that but it WAS very sweet!!

Taking a break from writing to do some art. I haven’t used my tablet in ages and realized that I’ve forgotten how to shade(?!), so I’m doing something different and self-indulgent while figure things out; a fake Lazytown comic I’ve wanted to do for years (was too busy with the collab comic and it didn’t feel right but that was then).
Now, usually the first rule for me when imitating a cartoon style is learning “the rules”. Spaces, angles and general shapes, as well as outfits and base colors.
This is, however, quickly out the window when it comes to the official Lazytown comics.
10 comics and not a single one is exactly like the other. You just got to cherry pick the parts you like from each, I guess.
Consistency what [honking] consistency?!
#lazytown#sportarobbie#I’m cooking a little something >:)#Robbie is getting his pale eyes that’s all I’m going to say#also#istg we spent more time on keeping it cohesive when some of us collabed on that fan comic despite our vastly different art styles

Baby Show Villain Tournament: Semifinals
Peep the bracket
Alright, we got four left!
This last round was kind of overwhelming. Here's what I learned
You all hate women and children
Okay, so the former is a joke, but there were quite a few mean comments about Tobey and not liking children this past round and like. Okay. Why are you watching shows for them then? I don't want to hear how you guys hate kids. Be nice or get out, okay?
Anyway, this round wasn't that exciting bc not many of them were close. Oscar is still in, despite not being a villain. You can argue it's Sesame Street fans but what about Huxley man. What about Huxley. He's like your brother.
Anyway, only two battles today and they are
Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy vs. Dr. Two Brains (Both From Wordgirl)
Oscar the Grouch (Sesame Street) vs. Robbie Rotten (Lazytown)
And Robbie is the last of the Dealer's Choice characters. If he wins the whole thing you gotta give it up for my peak taste lmfao, because no one nominated that guy.
I might do something like this again? But it's a little overwhelming. And I want it to be an excuse where I can talk about some of my more obscure favorites... I got a lot of followers from this, but I haven't followed many back bc you guys don't really talk about my interests. Sorry lol.

TOP 10 KIDS SHOW OUTROS
Cause you know, kids shows can have pretty nice intros, but sometimes the outro songs are SPLENDID.
So here’s my top 10 outros from kids shows.
10. ”Here in drainworld” from Hippo Tub Co
youtube
Idk I love the beat and catchy lyrics of it
9. 90s moomins ending
youtube
SUCH A COZY ENDING!
Side note but shoutout to the swedish version that went "and mom, and dad, and THE GROKE and My, they give us a story that always is new."
YEAH. THE GROKE SURE DOES. Love how they keep her in this as one of the wholesome characters and not at all as the thing that got nordic kids nightmares for years (even if I can appreciate her now... she still scared the crap out of me when I had to run from her in the snufkin game)
8. In the night garden ending song
youtube
It's somehow so melancholy, yet so... beautiful. Idk, I can't describe it.
Always felt slightly sad for Iggle Piggle, having to sleep alone in the sea rather than with his friends in the garden :(
7. Brum ending song
youtube
I thought Brum was pretty meh as a show… until the ENDING of the episode came on and they took out THIS bop.
Everyone is so overexcited over this little car and it cracks me up every time
6. "Vintergatan outro"
youtube
VÅRA LIIIIIV BLEV EN SAGA UTAN REGLER OCH LAGAR!!!!!!!!!!
This was an only-aired-in-sweden kids show, and what a BANGER it was! It made me somehow feel nostalgic at age 5 to hear them sing "Our lives became a fairytale, without rules or laws. But does someone know if the journey ends?"
Many kids shows had them singing in the intro, and then in the outro it was just an instrumental of the intro. A lot of disney cartoons had that. But this was the opposite. THE INTRO was instrumental and then they sang in the outro. And for some reason it became way more impactful because of it.
5. Gummybears ending theme
youtube
See this is what I meant! The Gummy Bears theme is catchy as it is, but GOSH the outro!!
4. Bob the builder ending theme
youtube
Same reason here. Intro slaps, and so the instrumentals slap.
3. "Maasalama" from Swedish kids show Pomos Piano
youtube
This show aired in Sweden and only in Sweden, but the music in it is wonderful. And the outro song, where they sing goodbye or goodnight in several languages… ”Adjö, Godnatt, Maasalama, Adios, Goodbye” have always stuck with me. The coolest part is that the version changes each episode depending on the theme. This episode was about a magical garden, so the outro has a ”magical garden” theme. One time they were in space, and the outro was more techno.
2. Goodbye song from Bear in the big blue house
youtube
I WANT THIS SONG AT MY FUNERAL!!! (the swedish version does not mention the moon, bear or the big blue house and thus can fit more). I also wanna sing this as a lullaby to my kids.
Luna may have scared crap out of me as a kid, but this song just soothed me so much that it didn't matter.
But hey! What could POSSIBLY be number 1, then, I hear you ask?
Hehe >:3
The Bing Bang Song from Lazytown
youtube
Lazytown is one of those shows where EVERY SINGLE SONG slaps. And the ending song CERTAINLY. I got so excited every time they sang it, and I still do! It's a masterpiece! It's the best thing ever!
HAVING FUN IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!!!!!!!!
