also i dont rlly think him being trans would be known by the audience but there is just SOMETHING about the way that he's objectified during the final trial by the viewers while literally having the worst mental breakdown of all time.......

my sources for shuichi being trans:

girl voice (in the original jp - voice is noticeably higher and more feminine sounding than any of the other boys)

general appearance (prominent eyelashes, fairly soft features, pretty androgynous esp when you pair with the jp voice, at certain points if ur insane enough it kinda looks like he has a binder outline)

wears a hoodie to the beach

gets really weird about having to go into the girls bathroom (obvs for different reasons but if you view those lines thru a trans lens then it honestly makes a lot of sense)

depressed and suicidal (not explaining)

im trans and i said so

#thats one of the scariest things to me about the final trial in particular and its only in a few of the chat messages in the bg #but like. shuichi is literally learning his entire reality is a lie breaking down and then fighting for his LIFE to do something about it #and theres chat messages that say shit like ''shuichi is so yummy <3'' LIKE HELLO?#its probably cuz im aroace but like thats genuinely one of the most horrific things i can think of. being objectified and sexualized while #being at your absolute lowest and most vulnerable. the fact that ppl could look at him like that and completely ignore what hes #going through just to call him hot and fantasize about what theyd do to him and whatnot #and this happens to real ppl too which is whats so awful about it #say what you want about v3 but the way it explores how we interact with fiction is soooooo fucking interesting to me #like revisiting that scene and seeing those messages it reminded me of when i was watching the walten files 4 premiere and ppl #in the chat were saying how hot felix was while he was literally on a cliff considering suicide. like obvs thats not an actual issue lol #but it is interesting to think about how that would realistically feel AND AGAIN.
