i mean... she's a powerful nord warrior and werewolf who comes from a line of female companions... she favors hircine to traditional nordic gods and practices (someone said she's "the same as all other nord women" bc she's a fighter... okay but not even most nords are warriors, so many are farmers/tradespeople/merchants). and she's not even a typical "angsty" werewolf, she's fully comfortable being a werewolf and loves it and has a good balance in her life.
i will agree you could argue she is "overhyped" but i really dont think even that is accurate. she's just a badass lesbian werewolf... which is hype af. if you were to say her writing/story is limited, i would agree. the companions guild questline and characters within it could've been more fleshed out.
OR in the same sentence you need to say farkas and vilkas are mid too... bc they are not more interesting or compelling than aela.

Hi aviee28, these pieces of info that this person uses come from different SNK stuffs but they’re like spin offs or games, but they’re not written by Isayama himself. They are official SNK content but we cannot really say that it’s canon since it was written and drew by other people. For example the thing when Levi says to Petra that he went to circus with Hanji is from Spoof on Titan comics, but imo in this spin off Levi and Petra are very close to each other more than with Hanji, it was implied more than once that Petra was in love with him, for example these:

Going to the circus with Hange doesn’t mean that he’s in love with them, or that he isn’t, this comics is supposed to be funny with a lot of gags, so don’t take it as a serious information.
As for the cooking thing, if they thought of one of the games that was developed a long time ago, the real thing is that everyone including Hange asked Levi to cook, but Hange complained because she wanted some more, so Levi did them because they were insistent. But then, a worried Petra appears and wanted some more too haha, the game developers wanted to do something funny! Even Petra herself learned to Levi how to make some sweets (cookies) for the cadets because she thought it could give them energy, but all these pieces of information are from spin offs, games, etc.
They’re not officially told by Isayama himself in interviews or in character books, this insta user is only trying to infer something that isn’t official as for Rivetra. Isayama made the choice to not officialise Levi with anyone probably because of ship wars and probably because Levi is commercially profitable (in other words, maybe you noticed that Levi is drawn a lot with Eren in the commercials (sometimes with Erwin or Hanji, and sometimes including Mikasa or Jean) because they are the most popular people from the manga, if Isayama ever officialised any relationship involving Levi, you can imagine that many Levi fangirls won’t continue to buy the merchandises! It’s for profit). Moreover, it’s not manga-based or anime-based, so it’s not that important in their relationship. I think Isayama tried to express Rivetra and Levihan relationship (romantically or not) the better he could in the few pages of the manga and the anime, so I think everything is in the manga and the anime not in the side contents even if it’s a cool bonus!

Hiii!! I’m the last anon. I loved reading your take on the Oskar situation! To be honest I was a little paranoid because of all the Gale hot takes on Reddit. Most of them seem to think he will betray you in the end and it’s a little discouraging! Your post made me feel better tho :)

Ah... Reddit... Honestly, I'm so TIRED of reading their bullshit when a friend of mine shares with me some post there. Most of the time they do stuff based on plain lies. Like, all the drama about “Gale asks you to cheat your LI to whom you are married” XD like 5 shades of lies… it is just such a level of garbage. People doing that can't read, and can't understand a game which qualifies for +18. They should play tetris, please. XD
I think Gale can betray you like all chars can: it depends on your actions. If you go evil, and do the goblin path, Gale leaves the party unless you roll the dice and get a very high number. In that case, he remains, but he is super bitter and filled with regret. I can see that this Gale will “stop” an evil main char from doing more evil if you keep going on that path. Gale is a char who defends life. Like Ifan in DOS2 [a char I can speak a lot, and I can do a lot of comparisons with Gale, and even though both games are different world, the “larian style” with which they write their characters is kind of “obvious”, but that's another topic, I jump a lot in different topics XD sorry], As I was saying… the most sacred thing for Gale is Life. If Gale starts seeing that you are a menace, bigger than his own orb problem, you are going to be killed by him. Or attempt to be so. Specially if he can see you are beyond redemption [which is something he believes, but he needs to see you trying].
I'm pretty convinced of that. We already have a char who tries to kill you, and in fact he kills you if you fail the dice. If you know about datamining stuff... There is a situation where 2 companions are going to struggle to kill one another in their sleep. Swen said in some interviews that this mechanic is going to happen. So, it seems fair to expect this from the rest of the chars, Gale included. But it has to be “in character”. After all, it's the same style we find in DOS2. Again, I know I've said that it's pretty poor to compare BG3 with Dragon Age games... BUT comparing it with DOS2, you can see certain patterns in Larian style that make you suspect certain things. If you played DOS2, you can remember that ALL your companions can betray you, if you give them reasons enough to do it. Which is, to no one's surprise, how most RPGs with companions work. Again, Reddit just does a drama out of nowhere, and magnifies everything related to Gale just to make people hate him even if nobody played with him. XD So… how can you criticise a char you never played with??? Meh.
Gale is a flawed char. Perfect chars are boring. Gale's main flaws are emotions, but we also see him in a moment of his life where he has reflected about his mistakes. A lot of his approvals and scenes and comments are DEEPLY related to “forgiveness” and to “accept the mistakes of the youth”, and “learn from your mistakes”, “second chances”, and “take responsibility for it”. He approves if you redeem Kagha, he asks you to be kind to children who do big fuck-ups, he approves and is relieved when he is forgiven for not having told you about his orb after the party [which is pretty weird… because we have like 4 scenes where we are hinted that whatever is happening in his chest is pretty wild, but well, maybe we can fail ALL the dices and inferring that fact with the death protocol is too much for us... who knows]. If we know how Larian works, we know that most of their chars represent “concepts”. I think Gale explore all the concepts related to mistakes and forgiveness [which are very human concepts] : accepting to make mistakes, but taking responsibility for them, even if it's a bit late, even if it's harder, even if it's beyond forgiveness.
Gale, in the second dream, speaks very clearly: he knows the tadpole dreams are not true because [we can infer] he saw Mystra forgiving him. And he KNEW that was a lie. Because he has accepted he is beyond forgiveness. He desires it, sure, because it's human nature to desire things you can't have, but also he is a pragmatic, realistic man: it cannot be her. Because he knows that when he uses magic, when he taps from the Weave, she is “disapproving” him [all this info is in that video, people only needs to think about why he says what he says and check lore in wiki, that’s all].
After the romance you can ask him if he is in love with Mystra. I found a meta in tumbl pretty long but very worth reading that I share in many points: human love is not just that sexual, romantic love. Love can get complex shapes, including the divine love. And Gale has that: he has the ashy love for an ex, that played with him because that's what a Goddess does in Faerûn [people should learn SO much lore before thinking that Mystra needs to be defended of anything XD], but he also is a devote to her, because she IS and REPRESENTS all what it's life for him: Magic. So, any person expecting him to “get over her” as you do with a normal ex.... are ignoring the immense religious and arcane part his story has—inserted in Faerûn. So yeah, he may have a complex love for Mystra, but betraying you if you are not an asshole to him, or evil, I cannot see it. Because that’s not what Larian has done in previous games either. I wish people could understand that Larian is not Bioware, and DOS2 and BG3 are not Dragon Age.  You see... People see Gale as if BG3 were a high-school sitcom. I have no idea how much can I stress the fact that Mystra is a goddess in a world where gods play their wars between them by using mortals as paws.... Anyway. I have some few, old metas in my blog [probably too out-of-date since I did those in patch 1 I think], and like I said, there are some really good deep metas in tumblr too on this matter. Reddit is just a pit of brainless hatred. To me, reading Reddit seems a waste of time (and mental sanity, too). And I hope Larian doesn't focus only on the crap that appears there, because it's very discouraging to think that these people with so little ability to understand contexts will shape the game eventually.

Blue Blues
The name is not creative but its what you’ll have to live with. OF COURSE I have to the majority of this theory under a cut lest I gain the ire of those you have the unfortunate experience of following me (’: 
Let me say, this is all something my brain made up. It is in no way shape or form me trying to say, ��this is canon!”. Honestly, I just miss taking things and turning them into reasonable arguments for fictional subjects because it brings me joy. I would hope that you read this for fun and not to debate me, because I do not debate on the internet if I don’t have to.
I REITERATE, I DO NOT tout this as canon or aim to disprove any current existing theories on the topic. This is legitimately just something I thought about yesterday coupled with an urge to write it out and this is the result.
Anyways.... lets get to it!
I think a good place to start is the color analogous scale. Which if you’re down for definitions; analogous colors are colors are groups of three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel, and a tertiary. In these terms the analogous colors would be something of this nature:

The reason I mentioned this first because I’m running on a Consistent Structured Pigmentation Factor through this theory, something I’m applying my my own wish and will as a factor. In my made up definition I have applied this because I believe in standard pigmentation and albinism in asari, the structured undertones cause by their interactions with eezo stands regardless. Though the colors may vary on the surface, in this pigmentation structure the undertones are a persistent factor.
I frame this as a reason to why in particular lighting, regardless of the coloration of the lighting, some skin can present odd or off colors to what we believe we see in game. Like the Aria is blue or purple argument (the curses of purgatory lights). Or even why Liara’s skin sometimes seems like a very light shade of blue and other times a much darker one. 
Next would be the major factors to consider here and they are:
Genetics
Environment
Diet
In order of which has the most to least impact, but I will be delving into this in a longstanding overall effect manner that would have these all having some form of impact and designating a color. So, let us uh… face dive (in)!
Bigger Picture
The most prominent factor, (genetics and biological makeup) one that I cannot necessarily explain without some knowledge of how biological pigments effect living creatures on the earth, I couldn’t tackle. I used a simplified site to reference for basic info on general terms on pigmentation in human and animals because most of that I explain is more conjecture in a factual sense, and more fun to just infer on a personal sense. So, some relevant factors;
“Melanin is the main pigment found in mammals. It is responsible for the color of hair and fur. There are different types of melanin (eumelanin and pheomelanin), and they produce a huge color range, from black to sandy to red.”
 “Fireflies and bacteria emit light in the form of bioluminescence. Luciferins are a class of light-emitting biological substance found in these organisms.”
“Although animals do manufacture their own melanin, they can’t make many other pigments. Plants, however, can produce a range of pigments, so many animals are colored by what they eat.”
“Plant pigments exist in a wide variety of forms, some with highly complex and large structures. Over 600 naturally occurring carotenoid structures have been identified, as well as over 7,000 flavonoids, including over 500 anthocyanins […] Biological pigments such as chlorophyll are colored organic molecules which owe their color to the presence of unsaturated bonds.”
Chlorophylls (Green), Carotenoids(Orange/Red/Yellow), Flavonoids(Blue/Purple/Red), and Betalains (Red/Purple/Yellow/Orange), are all pigment producing cells within plant life on earth.
And the most prominent thing that I think is worth noting to emphasize the main structural difference here (If we let go of the “hehe alien lady blue ooga booga color wheel fun to pick”) is that “most animals are unable to make green and blue pigments. Most of their green and blue colors are created through structural effects” and “Structural color is the result of selective reflection or iridescence, usually because of multilayer structures. Pigment color differs from structural color in that it is the same for all viewing angles. Some colors are a combination of pigment, structural color, and diet.” And these are shared in a way to also aid in my  Consistent Structured Pigmentation Factor.
With that in consideration (and I think the end of what I will take from this oddly simplified website of condense information) there are things to consider in terms of flora and fauna on Thessia to help my theory here and the factor and effects of long term eezo exposure (and genetic modification by the Protheans). And there will absolutely be a little bit of some “Asari albinism” in the mix, which I don’t believe is necessarily one color but a range of greyscale colors (ill have examples (: ).
Then the base of this pyramid, Thessia Flora and Eezo. Its canon, in game that asari must, in a long term sense, consume eezo infused foods or take supplements because it is essential to what they would consider a healthy diet (explain in andromeda more prominently than in the trilogy- specifically Peebee). That, considered, means that the foundation of this coloration starts with that. Though, I do not believe it is a necessarily HUGE factor in asari skin color, I do not think it should be discounted.
I also, personally, do not really subscribe to the notion that asari are 100% mammals necessarily because of their reproduction methods, lack of hair, and a type electromagnetic propensity exemplified in biotics. If a coconut is not considered a mammal, neither should asari.
First, I don’t believe the color range of asari plant life is limited so the same pigments—however I instead support an idea that most fauna to wildlife that have a blue-purple color range and hue act as a sign or message to animals of the possibility of eezo infusion.
A quick thing:
“Element Zero, also known as "eezo", is a rare material that, when subjected to an electrical current, releases dark energy which can be manipulated into a mass effect field, raising or lowering the mass of all objects within that field. A positive current increases mass, a negative current decrease it.”
Together I surmise that, though the color range of flora is still very wide, the colors presented have different meaning on Thessia than they do on earth, more specifically the blue/purple pigmentation.
An example: there are 2 types of plants on Thessia, both are considered fruit bearing plants. One plant grows berries that have red/purple undertones and the other has pigmentation like that of a lemon. In this theory, without any other knowledge, the red/purple would present more probably to eat purely based off pigmentation and the underlying thought that wildlife and sentient life must consume a level of eezo infused foods to maintain a healthy diet on Thessia.
I had to add: “Though plants don’t have a nervous system like animals, plants do have the necessary electrical, biochemical, and cellular components indicative of a neural network, albeit a relatively simple one.”
Cause if plants retain a electrical network, even if it is a minor one, it would react with the eezo, not enough to implement a change in mass, but enough to effect color. And for reference, Eezo is naturally blue:

So the level of electrical activity in the plant combined with pigmentation cells that interact with these electrical nuances could be why there is not only a range of color, but act as a natural signal to wildlife (like flowers attracting bees with pretty colors) what can supply the necessary supplements needed.
Which lead me over to wildlife, and the asari themselves. Though I expect wild life to have different color blood, but I’m running off the assumption that most animals (not including insects) have blue blood on Thessia the same way that most animals on earth have red blood because I assume the compound in these lifeforms that transport oxygen is common on Thessia.
Which brings me full circle to - “plants, however, can produce a range of pigments, so many animals are colored by what they eat.” And that is mimicked on Thessia. That many animals can consume various plants (and may not necessarily pick up the pigment, i.e. like mammals), I believe blue and various shades and structural colors within the red-purple-blue color range are very prominent.
I think that’s all I can say on that so I’m moving on to melanin in asari. NOW, I’m not saying I believe that “melanin” is the exact “factor” in the genetic make-up in asari that begets this reasoning, but I am using it as if it is, because it probably, on some level, exists to not only produce pigment but to act as natural protection against the sun. PLUS melanin creates the dark browns and reds and such of skin and fur, and with the blue tones… I’ll just call it “Blue Melanin” for now.
This is not the full range but the range but one ill use for my theory:

Though if we ignore lighting (these are not in any particular order” the prominent color shown in game is various shades of blue (and some others but I will get there). But here’s a pure color example:

With undertones from the analogous tones I mentioned at the beginning that begets the uniqueness of each blue because, Tevos blue is not the same as Atheyta blue which is not the same as Tela blue with the aid on not only the prominent skin color but its additional undertones.
Anyways, the combination of environment and melanin dictate long standing colors of skin. The darker pigments in more tropical locations and lighter pigments closer the cooler poles of the planets (much like our skin color range).
I don’t think I really need to say more on that front. Like, if an asari’s heritage if from a group of tropical island dwellers, their skin tone, could have any of the base 3 colors but would be much darker.
“Base 3 colors? But you haven’t even mentioned that!” YOURE RIGHT, and here is what I am saying. In this color range I have shared, I believe that there are 3 main color pigments to asari skin, that is the purple, blue, and then teal. I think all asari skin is on some level in those three colors either accentuated my mating with similar colors or by being altered on the scale by finding mates with different colored skin. And as human skin, I believe that there can be differing levels of melanin in each based of centuries of genetic evolution.
A side note: I think asari before Protheans did not have such prominent color pigmentation in their skin but actually had more muted versions of blue. But when undergoing genetic modification for an affinity for biotics, it had its own effect on their skin pigmentation.
I think I've covered most of what I'm thinking here and I actually am on 5 pages (WORD says so) I want to add on a 
BONUS ROUND: ALBANISM – exemplified by these two:

I would theorize that albanism in asari is more common in ardat-yakshi (though not necessarily prominent) and that it presents itself not in a similar color but in a grey scale range based on the color scale I gave earlier and is less just black and white because of the consistency in undertones that give these unique shades of grey.

With the same wiggle room to be darker or lighter. Where the lack of melanin often is reduced to just white or pale in earth terms, I think blue melanin doesn’t present itself as white but various dark and light shades of grey because a deficit of the color blue. and the white or black tones come from the corresponding lightness (morinth) or darkness (kurin) of their skin tone. 
So unlike standard human albinism which is simply a lack of melanin, but that albinism in asari in reference to blue melanin is the lack or deficiency of the color blue because of a different neural interaction with those cells and nodes in the skin that effect biotics. In tandem, i think this can also either severely increase or decrease biotic potential.
Of note, I'm not saying that an asari that chooses not to grow their biotics are potentially an albino, because their choice does not impact biotic potential. But that albinism directly impacts biotic potential to an extreme extent and the coloration is an visual representation of this neural relationship.
NOW…. Don’t think that I’m saying that if an asari is “grey” or a tone of it, that she is more likely to be perceived as an ardat-yakshi, but more so, that I think the factor itself is rare and the genetic uniqueness and interaction with biotics that ardat-yakshi have, it felt like it would make more sense.
I also don’t believe that the “pureblood” thing necessarily has commonality. I feel like the underlying belief is that if an asari mates with a different species it can be exemplified in the tones of their skin. I don’t believe that. I think it can, but I don’t believe that it is the prominent factor in the genetic makeup.
For Example, I do not think that id an asari that is a darker shade of blue mates with a hanar, that their kid will be purple or have pink undertones. But I do believe their skin pigmentation will get lighter because DNA mapping because no genetic information is taken from the partner, but the body rather attempts to imitate what is read and can only really use the genetic material of the mother. So, if the mind reads a pink pigment, but there isn’t a genetic line of code that can imitate that, it will do what it can to recreate it, thus making the skin lighter for the offspring.

I had a great week. The first duplicates storage update is done, and I got some neat misc fixes in as well.
false positives and alternates
The first version of the duplicates system did not store 'false positive' and 'alternates' relationships very efficiently. Furthermore, it was not until we really used it in real scenarios that we found the way we wanted to logically apply these states was also not being served well. This changes this week!
So, 'false positive' (up until recently called 'not dupes') and 'alternates' (which are 'these files are related but not duplicates', and sitting in a holding pattern for a future big job that will allow us to process them better) are now managed in a more intelligent storage system. On update, your existing relationships will be auto-converted.
This system uses significantly less space, particularly for large groups of alts like many game cg collections, and applies relationships transitively by its very structure. Alternates are now completely transitive, so if you have a A-alt-B set (meaning one group of duplicate files A has an alternate relationship to another group of duplicate files B) and then apply A-alt-C, the relationship B-alt-C will also apply without you having to do anything. False positive relationships are more tricky, but they are stored significantly more efficiently and also apply on an 'alternates' level, so if you have A-alt-B and add A-fp-M, B-fp-M will be automatically inferred. It may sound odd at first to think that something that is false positive to A could be nothing but false positive to B, but consider: if our M were same/better/worse to B, it would be in B and hence transitively alternate to A, which it cannot be as we already determined it was not related to A.
Mistakenly previously allowable states, such as a false positive relationship within an alternates group, will be corrected on the update. Alternates will take precedence, and any subsequently invalid false positives will be considered mistakes and discarded. If you know there are some problems here, there is unfortunately no easy way at the moment to cancel or undo an alternate or false positive relationship, but once the whole duplicates system is moved over I will be able to write a suite of logically correct and more reliable reset/break/dissolve commands for all the various states in which files can be related with each other. These 'reset/set none' tools never worked well in the old system.
The particularly good news about these changes is it cuts down on filtering time. Many related 'potential' duplicates can be auto-resolved from a single alternate or false positive decision, and if you have set many alts or false positives previously, you will see your pending potentials queue shrink considerably after update, and as you continue to process.
With this more logically consistent design, alternate and false positive counts and results are more sensible and consistent when searched for or opened from the advanced mode thumbnail right-click menu. All the internal operations are cleaner, and I feel much better about working on an alternates workflow in future so we can start setting 'WIP' and 'costume change'-style labels to our alternates and browsing them more conveniently in the media viewer.
The actual remaining duplicate relations, 'potential', 'same quality', and 'this is better', are still running on the old inefficient system. They will be the next to work on. I would like to have 'same quality' and 'this is better' done for 356, after E3.
the rest
The tag blacklists in downloaders' tag import options now apply to the page's tags after tag sibling processing. So, if you banned 'high heels', say, but the site suddenly starts delivering 'high-heel shoes', then as long as that 'high-heel shoes' gets mapped to 'high-heels' in one of your tag services, it should now be correctly filtered. The unprocessed tags are still checked as before, so this is really a double-round of checking to cover more valid ground. If you were finding you were chasing many different synonyms of the tags you do not like, please let me know how this now works for you.
The annoying issue where a handful of thumbnails would sometimes stop fading in during heavy scrolling seems to be fixed! Also, the thumbnail 'waterfall' system is now cleverer about how it schedules thumbnails that need regeneration. You may notice the new file maintenance manager kicking in more often with thumbnail work.
Another long-term annoying issue was the 'pending' menu update-flickering while a lot of tag activity was going on. It would become difficult to interact with. I put some time into this this week, cleaning up a bunch of related code, and I think I figured out a reliable way to make the menus on the main gui stop updating as long as one is open. It won't flicker and should let you start a tags commit even when other things are going on. The other menus (like the 'services' menu, which will update on various service update info) will act the same way. Overall menu-related system stability should be improved for certain Linux users as well.
The new 'fix siblings and parents' button on manage tags is now a menu button that lets you apply siblings and parents from all services or just from the service you are looking at. These commands overrule your 'apply sibs/parents across all services' settings. So, if you ever accidentally applied a local sibling to the PTR or vice versa, please try the specific-service option here.

SNK #106 Recap
Look here, fandom, it’s not just you. Armin has also been angsting over Annie’s self-imposed confinement for the past several years. Isayama is a meme factory. He’s probably lurking in the tag right now.
In other news: ask for relevant backstory and you shall receive. We finally discover the fates of the many scout ships that made their way to Paradis, in a flashback chapter that is far more clean and concise than the last one. They weren’t destroyed and the occupants weren’t killed. The Marley soldiers were captured and their superior engineering knowledge was used to vastly improve the island’s infrastructure. (There’s a Metal Gear joke here somewhere that I will not go looking for.)
This is how we meet Yelena and our pilot friend, Onyankopon. They aren’t Eldian, but they do hate Marley’s guts, and are more than game to join the fight to overthrow them. This is good news for everyone, except Levi, who is more salty than usual in this update.
Historia is back, too. She doesn’t say anything, but her presence is still very important based upon what it helps us infer. Eren finally reveals what happened in Ch. 50 to a room full of government officials (including Zackley wassup bro). Levi - in his most annoyed ‘tch’ voice - asks why he waited so long to say something. Eren confirms what we guessed: he couldn’t risk Historia’s safety by relaying information that couldn’t be confirmed at the time. Eren was willing to break protocol for this. I’m not sure where their relationship stands, but it seems to be very important to one of them. Speaking of relationships...

Whaaaaaaat the fuck is going on here, eh?
In the context of the scene: Eren is at the shooting range for target practice while Mikasa and Armin look on. The latter two discuss methods of diplomacy in regards to the outside world; Eren shoots down those suggestions with cold, cynical remarks about their political status in the world. “Where’s the confusion?” he asks Armin. “They see us as monsters. So, that’s what we are.”
We saw a flash of this Eren when the SC reaches the ocean for the first time. The whole squad is joyous in their victory - their survival. Mikasa and Armin are nearing tears of happiness. And all Eren can manage is: “Do we have to kill all of them, too?” Isayama has only gotten better at these 'Show, Don’t Tell’ moments the longer this story has gone.
Eren is breaking off from his friends and breaking their hearts in the process. Even Levi can’t get a grasp on where his mental state is. Poor Armin is no better. He is so at odds with Eren’s recent behavior, he can only find solace in speaking to a catatonic Annie, who hasn’t budged in four years.
Also confirmed: Paradis has been in touch with Zeke-san for a long time. Whether he convinced his little brother to go AWOL is yet to be seen (if ever) but soon enough the two will meet properly to discuss Zeke’s Final Solution. At this point for me, the question isn’t if, but which megalomaniac Zeke will reveal himself as.
Will he be Doctor Doom: ruthless dictator who supplies his own people with ample land and resources to the detriment of everyone else? Or, will he be Thanos: depressed commander riddled with PTSD who literally kills half the world because they’re making too much noise?

Stray Thoughts
Hange’s reaction to the Marley engineer’s train model will sustain me until next month. Sasha’s reaction to gourmet seafood is just bonus. As is Floch’s reaction to gasp international trade relations!
It’s not just Isayama’s art that’s come a long way. He was able to communicate lots of important info in a relatively short window. As a writer, I can tell you that’s not easy, so I’ll give him props here.
Onyankopon seems to have become a protégé of sorts to Hange. Someone to pass her feverish Titan knowledge down to.
With hair that long, it was just a matter of time. Manbun!Eren has shut down the fandom indefinitely.
It’s worth repeating that everyone grieves in their own way. The recent God of War revival makes a big deal of this. Mikasa is no exception. She was very close with Sasha. Mikasa won’t be overt about her sadness, but the panel of her sitting against Sasha’s headstone says all you need to know.

Characters
Part 5 of my Custom Neighbourhood Guide
While working on your neighbourhood you most likely already have an idea of the families and sims that will be living there, and how they relate to each other. Now’s the time to flesh those characters out! This section of the guide will cover creating sims, characterisation, relationships, and the question of whether to include townies and/or NPCs. 
(As always do take everything I say in this guide with a grain of salt – every creator is different and my own preferences & opinions might not be your own. But hopefully there’ll be something useful in here for everyone.)
Making Sims
You can create you sims in either Bodyshop or Create a Sim. There are advantages to both! Many people find Bodyshop easier to use and it has slightly more tools available, plus it will allow you to save copies of your sims easily. CAS sims won’t be able to be saved without first extracting their appearance in SimPE – however it will allow you to do genetic mixing more easily, and with debugging mode on will enable more of the catalog, such as career outfits and alien skins. Whichever one you use is really just down to personal preference.
When creating sims to populate a neighbourhood, it’s generally good to have plenty of genetic diversity. You might choose otherwise, for example if you are closely basing your neighbourhood on a real-world location with a less diverse population, but a good rule of thumb is to try to include at least one sim with each of the available hair colours, eye colours, skin colours, etc.
Different players will have different tastes when it comes to sim faces. I have bad facial recognition and like extreme, cartoony features. Other players might prefer prettier sims! Again, this is something that’s entirely up to you. Almost all players, however, like to see sims with unique and recognisable faces, so try and avoid simply using templates when creating sims. Pick at least one “unusual” feature, perhaps a large nose, beady eyes, a slightly upturned mouth - anything to make them stand out! Another possible idea is to combine existing templates for more interesting results.
It’s also worth looking at the some Custom Sliders! Sims made using these will still work in a cc-free game, and they open up a lot of new options, like asymmetrical features, buck teeth and elfier ears. Honestly, I am not the greatest at face sculpting, so I’ll link to a few resources and tutorials on it by other people:

The final detail for you sim will be their hair & outfit! Resist the temptation to pick the cutest items in the catalog – think about the personality, occupation and interests of the sim you are making and try and give them an appearance that suggests that. Desiderata Valley is actually a great example of this being done well – most of the inhabitants dress in a way that reflect their chosen hobbies. Remember that many players LOVE giving everyone makeovers so don’t get too attached to their appearance! This is another reason to place more importance on getting across their characterisation rather than focusing on making everyone look cute.

Characterisation 
To me this is one of the most important aspects of a sim! Aside from their physical appearance, there are so many things that can help flesh out and define a sim:
Bio – This is one of the least subtle as it is literally what you tell the players about your sim, so make it count! I like my bios to be short and snappy, and try to include fun facts, personality traits, or info about the character’s values and motivations.
Memories – I’ll go into more detail about editing memories in the next part, but memories are one of the easiest ways to show a character’s history. Who taught them their toddler skills, if anyone? When did they have their first kiss? Did they ever run away from home? Take a look at the full List of Memories for more ideas!
Storytelling images – Another good way to show a family history!
Aspiration – This is one of the things that most defines a sim. They might be a very typical sim for their aspiration, like the Curious brothers, who are very much classic knowledge sims! Aspiration doesn’t have to define them, however, and there’s no reason they have to follow the classic stereotypes. Maybe they’re a family sim in love with two people, like Widespot’s Mary Hart? Maybe a shy, grouchy romance sim like Nina Caliente? Take a look at Rockethorse’s Alternate Reads of Aspirations and Dinuriel’s Psychology Version of Aspirations for some “outside the box” ideas.
Personality Points – Bear in mind that more extreme personalities will result in more interesting behaviour from a sim! In my view it’s worth giving each sim at least one extreme personality trait (such as being a mega-slob or a outgoing chatterbox) to help define them.
Zodiac – This will effect chemistry, which is the only real gameplay effect, but players into astrology might infer some character traits from this!
Interests – This mainly effects the conversations sims will have, but again will give players ideas about their personality. A refined sim might have a lot of interest in culture. A high interest in crime could point towards a potential criminal career, or maybe in law enforcement. Eco warriors might have a high interest in environment, politics and animals.
Hobby – Similar to interests, this can flesh out what a sim is all about, and in some cases can even give them new traits and abilities. I particularly enjoy giving sims points in the film & lit hobby so that they’ll walk around with a book in their hand.
Skills – It makes sense for a sim to have a few skills, especially if they are an adult or elder! As a general rule I give sims skills corresponding with the point they are at in their career.
Many of these things, like interests, skills and hobbies, will be assigned to a sim when they are created, but these can easily be changed with testing cheats, SimPE, the Simblender, or the Batbox if you have a strong preference for what they’re into! There are other things you could consider too, like turn ons, sexual orientation, vacation memories, skill badges, etc.  
This is my own preference, but when defining a sim’s personality I think it’s importance to give them both some positive and negative traits, and keep the details ambiguous enough that there is plenty of room for player interpretation. Donna Fusilli, for example, can be interpreted as a victim, villain, or something in between. She’s a mob boss’s wife, they have a low relationship and it’s implied she married for money, but she also does love him, and has turned down the opportunity to have an affair according to her memories. She has a good relationship with her kids but is thoroughly detested by her mother-in-law, and the reason for this is up to the imagination of the player.

Then again, perhaps you prefer more clear-cut good guys and bad guys? That can work, too! Bear in mind though, that the player might not agree with the roles you have cast them in. Don Lothario and the Caliente sisters seem to me as though they were intended to be villains by Maxis, but many players like to give them more sympathetic backstories and motivations. Remember that the characters you are creating should be giving the players prompts and ideas rather than dictating any one “correct” interpretation.
Relationships 
Another important part of a sim is the relationships they have with other characters in the neighbourhood! How big is their family? Does it only consist of their household, or do they have other relatives living in the neighbourhood? Do they get on well with their family, and who are they closest to? Who are their closest friends? Are their friends in the same age group, or do they get on better with a different age group? How long have they been friends? Are they married, single, do they have a love interest? Multiple love interests? What about enemies, or rivals? Is there anyone in town that they dislike, or who dislikes them?

One-sided rivalries or crushes can be particularly interesting! When I made Europa, for example, I made all of the elder females dislike Viola Rochetti – implying (along with her biography) that she was the subject of a lot of gossip.
For most neighbourhoods the interwoven network of relationships will comprise a lot of the plot. Pleasantview has its tangled love web, Veronaville has its bitter rivalries, Strangetown has its complex family trees… the only limit is your imagination. When creating a sim I like to work out what their connections are to the rest of the town very early on – there shouldn’t be any sims included with no relevance to the neighbourhood plot and no links to the other residents. (Unless perhaps they’re a hermit or recluse? In which case, carry on.)
You might find it helpful to scrawl out some family trees or relationship maps on paper, especially if the set-up you are envisioning is complicated!
Townies and NPCs
When setting up your neighbourhood you will have taken steps to avoid generating unnecessary townies and NPCs. However, perhaps you want a few townies around so that the dating options in the neighbourhood are more varied? There might be some NPCs you can’t avoid generating, and maybe you want to customise them to fit in better with your neighbourhood?  Perhaps you’d like a few non-playables to play a role in the plot, like Kaylynn Langerak? Most sharable neighbourhoods contain a few townies and NPCs, and even Meetme’s uberhood templates contain a few “plot relevant” townies, like Crystal Vu.

You may even want to include a complete townie and NPC pool. There are pros and cons to doing this; some players prefer fewer character files and like being able to choose whether to add townies themselves, whilst others might appreciate having less work to do, and being able to play a more customised neighbourhood which feels fully populated. Quadington University and Tumbleton are a few examples of this! Creating multiple versions of your neighbourhood with and without townies and NPCs is also an option.
Something I haven’t seen done but am interested in trying myself in a future neighbourhood is townie-owned community lots! According to some testing by @dramallamadingdang, it’s possible to have a townie purchase a community lot and run it as an owned business. This could open up some interesting possibilities, like shops that can sell just about anything, restaurants with more selective menus, staff that you can pick out and customise yourself very easily... could be fun to experiment with!
There are quite a few ways to go about making and customising townies and NPCs, and the method you use will depend on your game configuaration and exactly what you want to do with them. Personally I create townies in CAS and townify them with the Simblender. I let NPCs generate through normal gameplay then change their appearance using SimPE. I’ll link a few tutorials/resources below:

First Impressions / Half-Review of Go Go Squid 2: Dt. Appledog's Time
Firstly, some info on the show: https://mydramalist.com/58373-my-dear.

I’m not a good critic of dramas and am bad at reviewing but I like sharing my thoughts so if you are interested to know, then read on.
SPOILERS AHEAD because I do not know to to review something without spoiling.
And some clarifications because I start from a different point than many others out there. I watched Go Go Squid (drama) and found out that there will be a spinoff (/sequel but it is definitely more of a spinoff, why? I’ll tell you later) which is based on a novel too.
So Go Go Squid is based on Novel 1, Go Go Squid 2 is based on Novel 2. I watched Drama 1 then read Novel 2 and now am watching Drama 2.
I also watched/read everything in Chinese so there might be some stuff which are understood better as translated stuff does miss out on nuances.
I will segment this into a few parts because I do want to explain the universe(?) that this is based on.
I have only seen Drama 2 up to episode 16 of 38 as of 17 Feb 2021 but will be updated as I watch more.
1. Names of Dramas / Novels
Drama 1 has a Chinese name of  亲爱的,热爱的 which I would translate to as Dearly, Passionately if it is literal, and as you can see has nothing to do with Squids. However, the novel it is based on is named 蜜汁炖鱿鱼 which means Honey Stewed Squid, Squid Stewed in Honey and this is where the word Squid actually comes from. Novel 1′s name does have a reason, the female lead is a singer whose name is 鱿鱼 or Squid if I remember correctly and honey is something sweet which I would guess is like melting the ice prince kind of feeling.
Drama 2 has a Chinese name of  我的时代,你的时代 which I will come to later. It’s original intended name is actually 亲爱的,挚爱的 which is Dearly, Belovedly kind of name but they scraped that which I have some reason to why. Novel 2 has a name of 密室困游鱼 which I translate to as Swimming Fish Stuck In Escape Room, this name also has a reason which I will bring in later in the next part. Okay so for the current name, it is related to the Novel 2, it is actually the concluding line of the novel which translates to My Era/Generation, Your Era/Gen, which I guess they wanted to relate to the novel more, the original name would be closer to Drama 1′s name and has some meaning has Belovedly hints at how the male lead has loved the female lead for a long time.
Do I like any of the translations? Honestly, not really as the novel names reflect the novel and the drama names only reflect some of the adaptations but is still largely inaccurate.
2. Universe of Dramas / Novels
Both novels (I assume but I have not read Novel 1) are based on a gaming world where they compete in games like Counter Strike, Novel 2 has a focus on this game called Escape Room which explains its name.
Drama 1 is based on a coding competition actually so elements of team fight / attack and defence is more prominent like in games.
Drama 2 is based on a robot fighting competition which has more attack and defence elements but less of team fight.
By the way, they reference a lot of the characters by their in game name and not their actual name.
3. Solo Team Breaking Up / Relationships
From Drama 1, I understood that Solo Team broke up because Solo’s ex was pregnant and thus he broke up with Appledog and fathered the child. The mess between the relationships eventually caused the team to be unhappy and broke up.
From Novel 2, this is also what I inferred.
From Drama 2, I do not get what happened but it seemed that Appledog was the main reason.
Next, in Drama 1 and Novel 2, Solo/Wang Hao no longer has feelings for Appledog/Ai Qing and is just her superior. It is known that Dt/Wu Bai is Gun/Han Shang Yan’s cousin to everyone and that Gun/Han Shang Yan knows that Dt/Wu Bai likes Appledog/Ai Qing.
In Drama 2, all the above is not true.
4. Certain Events
In Drama 1, Drama 2 and Novel 2, the part where Xiao Mi is falling behind is mentioned. The dramas seem to make it a big deal while Novel 2 had made it known and it became a little part of something that pushed Wu Bai/Ai Qing’s relationship further.
In Drama 1 and Novel 1, Ai Qing is a game interpreter(? Idk if that is the official term) but in Drama 2, Ai Qing was still a competitive player and only stepped off after some time later.
5. Wu Bai/Ai Qing’s Relationship
I’m only comparing between Drama 2 and Novel 2 here, not much happened in Drama 1 so I would just say that they were hinting at the relationship.
Wu Bai in the novel is super quiet and always wears his cap which hides his eyes underneath its shadow. Wu Bai in the drama is almost talkative to me(?) like maybe because he is the main character and main characters talk a lot but it’s almost as if that his feelings for Ai Qing is like super super obvious. He also does a lot of things for Ai Qing even before they met (like fixing the light, drawing the flowers etc) but in the novel, Wu Bai is definitely not like that, he does things but is sort of more reasonable.
Ai Qing also seems to be more flirty(?)/interested in Wu Bai from the start for the drama while in the novel, she gradually realises that she has feelings for him through spending time together. I have not watched if they got together yet in the drama but I am definitely expecting it to be very different from the novel.
At Episode 17 now and oh my god, why did they kiss in the gaming arena???? To me it is super OOC for Wu Bai, I would see him as a guy who prefers a private place to kiss in the novel (their first kiss was also in a room/house) but dude.
At Episode 27 now 17:30 mark and the line which Wang Hao/Solo said when he told Bao Na that Wu Bai/Dt and Ai Qing/Appledog is dating is actually the sentence he posted in the Weibo post when their relationship was made known to the public in the novel.
6. Shen Yue/Ai Jing’s Relationship
Their relationship is not a super big part of Novel 2. There are mentions of how Shen Yue’s ex brings about problems, how they are on/off and the ending for them is that Ai Jing is trying to get over him but I do think that it is more open ended.
Drama 2 on the other hand just straight up says that here is your second couple, and how much they flirt, done. Honestly, I am like okay for that couple, not necessarily shipping them but just okay.
7. Should You Watch The Drama?
I think it’s okay to give it a go, you might like it and watch it once or twice but I doubt it will be a drama that I will rewatch often. Again, I have only watched 16 episodes but I think my thoughts would not really change that much.
8. Should You Read The Novel?
YESSSS. IT IS MY FAVOURITE NOVEL OF ALL TIME.
Again, I have read like 20 novels at most but it is a very lovely one.

TRON games – Steam sales numbers for 2017
Last year, I wrote about how many copies each of the TRON games have sold on Steam, and in general.
For the 35th Anniversary of TRON, I thought I’d take another look at the Steam sales numbers.
Studying (at least one facet) of TRON merchandise sales can be interesting, and merch sales as a whole is important if we’re going to see another TRON sequel.
All sales info is courtesy of SteamSpy. While not 100% accurate, it still provides ballpark figures for us to work with. Unfortunately, sales for console versions of the games is kept confidential, unless you want to pay NPD Group for the privilege. SteamSpy, on the other hand, provides ownership information for free. And sites like VGChartz are considered even more unreliable than SteamSpy.
All the numbers quoted from SteamSpy are from the most optimistic historical data. In other words, the sales numbers fluctuate daily (actually ownership numbers, but this essentially equals copies sold). So I’m quoting the highest number that has ever been recorded for each game. (This includes the ± “plus or minus” number being added to the base number.)
Since being released on Steam in October 2014, TRON 2.0 has sold approximately 48,000 copies.
Last year, TRON 2.0 had sold approx. 40,000 copies. So that’s an increase of 8,000. And the majority of the increase seems to stem from the recent 2017 Steam Summer sale. Before the sale, the number sat at approx. 42,000. Meaning a fairly astonishing 6,000 copies were sold during the sale.
Why so many? Likely because of the very recent “Windows 10 compatibility” update to TRON 2.0, widely reported in the press. Except, TRON 2.0 has been capable of running properly on Windows 10 all along. Regardless, the news certainly seems to have raised awareness of the game once more.
Since being released on Steam in October 2014, TRON Evolution has sold approximately 22,000 copies.
Last year, TRON Evolution had sold approx. 20,000 copies. Making that an increase of 2,000.
Checking sales numbers before and after the 2017 Steam Summer sale, showed no noticeable increase. I personally find this a bit hard to believe, especially after the announcement that Evolution had a “Windows 10 compatibility” update that replaced the outdated GFWL bundled with the game.
It’s possible that SteamSpy might not have updated the Evolution numbers yet. (SteamSpy’s owner mentions that it takes a minimum of 3 days after a sale for the site to catch up. We’re at 4 days already, but I will check again soon.)
And since its full release on Steam in February 2016, TRON RUN/r has sold approximately 18,000 copies.
Last year, TRON RUN/r had sold approx. 14,000 copies. Which is an increase of 4,000.
Before the 2017 Steam Summer sale, RUN/r had sold approx. 17,000 copies. Meaning an additional approx. 1,000 were sold during the sale.
So what can we infer from all this sales data? At the right price, the TRON games can sell very well. There is definitely a demand for them.

JG Novel Summary 1-3
Robinson 1939
Main character: Kazuo Izawa (和夫 伊沢)/Kaminaga (神永)
Disclaimer: 1. This is intended to be the summary of additional info though I know it turned out to be long. What the anime has covered I will assume everybody knows. 2. The information is based on the Chinese version of Joker Game, I do not claim credit for translation. Anyone who’s going to actually translate the novels are more than welcomed. 3. Everything is quoted, I will put my personal notes in parenthesis. 4. Please do not post the summaries outside of tumblr. 4. Any corrections are welcomed.
I start with chapter 3 of volume one because: 1. the first two chapters have already been translated. 2. This chapter contains a lot of information left out in the anime. 
Which means I will list my notes in order with the plot scenes and I will generally skip scenes the anime has already shown unless the anime had a different staging. Also, Robinson contains a special reference to Goethe’s Der Erlkönig which I will denote with asterisks “*” . See the end note for more.
Opening: how to stalk and avoid being stalked.
- Kazuo Izawa (Izawa) notices that he's being followed by 3 people after leaving the Grand At Trafalgar Square, stops by the Daily Telegraph pretending to be reading newspapers.
- One is a middle build man in a grey suit and hat, keeping 10m distance looking into the shop. Another is across the street entering a bread shop. Both seem to be pros.
- Izawa moves onto Fleet Street, takes a detour to the Crowned Clown restaurant for a coffee, and later spots a third follower. He takes note of the relative position of the three.
- He leaves the restaurant, buys a copy of the London Evening Standard, pretends to suddenly remember something and quickly hops on a bus that came right then.
- He arrives at the tube station during rush hour, buys a one-way ticket, gets on the last carriage, when the train is about to leave he forces the door open and jumps back into the station. No one comes out with him. Izawa gets on a train in the opposite direction towards Charring Cross Station.
- He waited for the first two cabs parked in the station to pass, and took the third one, got off somewhere else, changed another two cabs before telling the driver a location two districts away from his destination.
- He finally arrives at building facing Oxford Street near dusk. The shop reads "Maeda Photography" (or whatever you call those shops that takes photos for you).
(Note: In the novel, Izawa’s starting point is referred to simply as the “Grand Hotel”, while there are 4 hotels in London that fit the name. The choice of the Grand at Trafalgar square is based on this analysis of Izawa’s trail in London. In the mainland version, Izawa’s got out of his cab two “blocks” away from his final destination while the distance is two “districts” in the Taiwan version. Still based on the same analysis I chose district instead of block as the distance makes more sense to avoid being discovered. If you read Chinese I recommend reading both the first and second part of the analysis for a detailed speculation of the exact checkpoints in Izawa’s journey and how much D-Agency money he wasted spent tagging around 1937 London. Even if you don’t, just check out the nice maps and pictures and reference links.) 
Notes on Maeda.
- Yataro Maeda opened this photography shop when he arrived in London 15 years ago. At first he lets his customers wear kimonos of geishas and took their photos with Mount Fuji in the background, used the oriental flavor as a seller. Recent years he's earned a reputation a artful and trustworthy photographer, not only among Japanese people in London but noted by locals as well.
- Maeda has sinced aged and suffers from ill health. He returns to Japan with his wife and leaves his work to his nephew "Izawa Kasuo", who's been studying photography in Japan.
 Second scene in the shop: first reference to Der Erlkönig.
- Izawa goes to the back door of the shop first. He stuck a strand of hair at the side of the door earlier that day before going out, and the hair is as he left it. A basic saftey procedure, but he was called out suddenly today, so this was better than nothing.
- The shop has black curtains, and so it is completely dark inside after the sun set.
* Izawa whistles a tune from Schubert's Erlkönig. The novel depicts a brief scene from the song, the Erlking intends to trick a boy's soul with sweet words, the father holds his son while urging his horse on, only to return home and see --- * the scene cuts off
- Izawa is caught by surprise and arrested in his home. Thus follows the anime.
 Notes during the questioning.
- Izawa is questioned directly by Marks from the start, though he does not immediately recognize the man due to the strong light. When he does, he feels more settled, and mentally prepares for an exchange between spies.
- Instead of photos he is simply given the recording of the new ambassador's words that blows his cover from the start. The ambassador is named Satomura and he's compromised by a sex spy.
- The questioning lasted a week. In the anime it is implied to be a full day and night without letting Izawa sleep.
- Izawa initially thought the contact he met with at the Grand blew him but realized the British doesn't know about that person yet.
- At the mention of Yuuki, Izawa bursts in rage in calls him: a cold-blooded animal, flesh seller, hooker, messenger of hell, vampire sucking young people's life, and a weirdo. (Note: In the Japanese version it was initially written "homo". In later versions this changed to "sadist". Both Chinese translations are milder.)
- Izawa isn't tortured, nor is he given a truth serum until right before his escape. He "exchanges" information with the British for a week, Marks gives him the injection in the end to make sure of his intentions. From this he finds that besides encryption, each spy in the D-Agency has a personal style of sending codes, recorded in the Agency like fingerprints.
 Flash backs to Yuuki's class on the art of being interrogated.
- Yuuki states that torturing should not be feared, their body will shut down if pain goes over the limits, and fear is what breaks the mind. They merely need to learn how to overcome an exaggerated fear for pain.
- What Izawa learned from the agency: always deny allegations at first, giving away intelligence at first is always a bad idea and causes suspicion; learn how much the enemy knows by letting them speak, if they resort to violence it means they don't have much evidence; provoke the enemy, give away information as if cowered by the pressure to earn trust; let the questioner feel that they found out the information; subtly give them hints so they unconsciously try to deduct and infer.
 Flash backs regarding Robinson
- Izawa finds the white-centralism in Robinson distasteful, but finds Robinson's insistence on staying English on a no-man-island interesting from a spy's perspective.
- Enduring physical and mental loneliness isn't much of a problem for spies, it's simply a matter of experience and seeing it as your job. Like actors, magicians, gamblers, most people have the capacity to lie.
- The real " Kazuo Izawa" was summoned by the army and sent somewhere completely detached from outside contact for service.
- We already know about the metaphor of Robinson and Defoe's occupation.
- Before falling asleep Izawa feels he's getting close to the answer to Yuuki's Robinson.
* Vaguely he hears a whistle in the tune of Erlkönig. Then follows a series of flashes of the father, the child, and the Erlking. But the Erlking is a shadow, it turns out to be Yuuki (...).* Izawa wakes up from his daze caused by the truth serum.
 Flash backs to Yuuki's class on Judo.
- Yuuki shows the students how to throw an opponent twice his weight.
- A student who's been studying abroad for many years (ahem, we do not know who this is) comments that it's like magic. And is scolded by Yuuki using his iconic line "are you an idiot".
- He states that in the future whoever says that combat and survival techniques are magic cannot stay in the agency.
- Sometimes experts are invited to teach these classes, sometimes Yuuki teaches. The novel vaguely hints that Yuuki is particularly good at Judo.
 Izawa's escape is the same as in the anime.
 Flash backs to Yuuki's class on being interrogated, field practice.
- Students are woken without warning at night, taken to a single room, and interrogated for hours, sometimes for several days, as part of their training.
- The interrogations do involve violence and use of truth serums.
- Yuuki asks the students to layer their consciousness so they only give away superficial information.
- The students are sure they can do this because they have super big egos.
- Sending perfectly accurate codes are help signals. D-agency spies must escape by themselves within 2 hours of sending the signal and reach check point, where a contact will take them to safety. If they are more than 20 minutes late the contact will consider the escape failed and leave. There will never be a future rescue.
- Apparantly Izawa "almost" failed.
 On his way to the coast
- Izawa wonders if this mission means that Yuuki trusts him, or rather doesn't trust him.
- He decides it's too complicated to be summed up by trust, and recognizes he's just a particular part of Yuuki's set up to do the army a favor and stop the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from leaking intelligence.
- He thinks Yuuki an astonishing monster, the Erlking of the Agency.
- He recalls Goethe's Der Erlkönig, the Erlking stole the child's soul with sweet words and the father was helpless no matter how hard he tried to make the child stay.
- Izawa wonders what words will their Erlking Yuuki twist next time to steal his soul.
- He reasons that they will hire a small ship next, and sail to the continent, where he will receive further orders from Yuuki.
- Izawa falls asleep briefly after getting within sight of the coast, a ship (boat?) ready to sail for Europe waiting on the shores.
Final note: 
The story refers to Der Erlkönig so "Erlking" or fairy king is the word I used. However, in Japanese the original word is "魔王", which is literally the demon king, the devil, Satan himself if you push it a little. Personally I prefer to think of Yuuki as the devil mastermind, but I also think a fairy king (and fairies are by no means all good fairies, more like little deamons, but deamon king sounds weird) is a reasonable translation.
What about the Erlking stealing the Kaminaga’s soul? Don’t ask me...
But I do think Izawa has complicated feelings about the Devil Yuuki.

Molly Hooper Unplugged.
Series 4 Sherlock is not what I expected. Over all, I liked it. A lot. It’s not without it’s problems though. From a viewer’s perspective that is. I'm not going to trash the writers because, in fact, I have tremendous appreciate for their creative process, intelligence and brilliance.
As with the books, the writers set out to tell us stories in similar fashion to the canon literature. John Watson is considered the narrator but, in fact, is the peripheral story-teller. Sherlock, himself, is the primary narrator. Not only that, Sherlock tells us his stories retrospectively. Meaning that from beginning to end the story has already happened. It’s done and over, with Sherlock telling us: ‘Okay, this is what went down.”
Mark Gatiss made an interesting comment once that he and Moffat write the stories from end to beginning. It’s the only way they can detail the cases, the story-line and Sherlock’s elaborate deductions. Truly, it’s a clever approach. But, and this is important, it’s also why the audience rarely receives the resolution they want, or feel they deserve. Sherlock – as the narrator – won’t say. He gives the viewer what he chooses and then leaves us to figure out the rest.
As I looked back upon every episode from the very beginning, this particular format is consistent. It also explains why there’s an abhorrent lack of Molly this season. Sherlock is her avenue and narrator, and he’s not talking. Throughout the series, there have only been two exceptions to this: The Sign of Three and His Last Vow.
The writers love Louise Brealey. They adore her and they adore Molly. Molly is introduced to the audience in ASiP with Sherlock. It’s their “meet cute” – which tells us she’s important – even though she was initially considered a one-off character. Sherlock, however, had other plans and wanted her to stick around. He’s the one who’s chosen her fate in the stories, not the writers.
I know, I know – it’s a weird and unusual way to look at this. The writers are, after all, penning this series and in charge, right? Yes, of course. At the end of the day, however, they are two of the biggest Sherlock Holmes fan boys and they have deferred many decisions to this fictional character.
So, strange as it might sound, anyone who writes stories knows there’s more than a kernel of truth in this. We might think we’re in charge of the characters we create, but really – we’re in guardianship. Sherlock is no exception to this because he’s a long established character in literary fiction.
Many years ago, the ground-breaking television series, The X-Files, elucidated this fact (in an extreme way) with an episode called, Milagro. The writer, Phillip Padgett, experiences his character come to life, who creates all sorts of murderous mayhem.
“When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be truth.”
Fox Mulder used that exact quote from Sherlock Holmes in the Milagro episode to convince his FBI partner, Dana Scully, that this is exactly what was happening.
So, if anyone, besides myself, is wondering why we’re not seeing Molly all that much – it’s because of Sherlock. At the same time, he also gives us wonderful clues (because that’s what he does) as to why this is and what happened. All we have to do is observe and don his methods of deductions.
This, by the way, will have little to do with sub-text. That’s a very different animal. Instead, we have to infer and make some logical leaps based upon the evidence given. To be honest, this has been part of the fun of watching Sherlock. But, it can also be frustrating, exhaustive, and even disheartening, when viewers aren’t given any kudos for figuring things out, or for even trying. That does, in my opinion, lie within the hands of the writers. After all, they do have creative latitude.
There are two things that left me saying ‘Huh?’ regarding Molly in series 4.
Her diminished presence.
Her strong resistance to say, ‘I Love You.’
For me to understand, I did a cursory review of Molly’s history, which isn’t hard. Especially as there’s this infuriating, ongoing belief with journalists, casual and not-so-casual viewers, that Molly’s emotional hesitancy in saying ‘I Love You’ to Sherlock is somehow the result of a bizarre form of post-trauma from season one.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Molly / Sherlock ‘shippers’ (and I'm one) know this because we’re not simply watching a television show, we’re observing all the nuances of what’s presented / not presented, that others either don’t see, choose not to see, or believe unimportant.
First, I want to lay the basis that Molly’s “unrequited” love for Sherlock has not remained an issue since A Scandal In Belgravia (s2e1). Nor has she been mocked or ridiculed by Sherlock over her affection for him. The opposite of this is true and also shown.  
Beginning with The Reichenbach Fall, Sherlock and Molly have grown closer and share an intimacy that none of the other characters are made privy. It’s not romantic intimacy, that we know of, but a deeply valued and trusted friendship.
Sherlock turns to Molly in one of his greatest moments of need. She becomes his confidant at a time when things are, quite frankly, frightening for him. Molly, along with a host of others, help Sherlock plan his demise. Her role, as Sherlock later reveals, was not only invaluable, but that she is the one person who mattered the most. Whether his comment is based on the Moriarty deal, or a commentary about how he now views her, it doesn’t really matter. What this scene from The Empty Hearse showed viewers is that Molly and Sherlock have grown. Their relationship dynamics have shifted to a new dance. There’s more than a hint of attraction from both, and whether or not you want to ‘friend-zone’ them, the sentiment still stands: they hold a palpable love for one another.  
Viewers are also made aware in this episode that Molly has “moved on” and engaged to a guy who is a distorted facsimile of Sherlock’s physical characteristics. We think that scene is about Molly and it is – but it’s also about Sherlock. The look on his face when he meets Tom is priceless.
Sherlock has never dealt very well when confronted with Molly’s involvement with other men. It’s not sub-text or speculation…it’s shown. Given the fact this man lives in a state of emotional infancy, especially during The Great Game, he might not really understand why he viciously cock-blocked Jim-from-IT-Moriarty, angering / embarrassing Molly in the process.
He does learn, however. Otherwise, he’s not a very good genius.
I'm not sure why it’s hard to understand that series 3 Molly is not harboring unrequited love. Sherlock is. Yes, it’s a strange sort of love because he represses his emotions and impulses, I'll grant you. He doesn’t show it overtly, but it’s there.
The tables have been flipped on Sherlock, because although his seeping emotions are masked behind logic and rationalism, or ridiculous excuses – he’s actually the one seeking out Molly.
Molly keeps him on his toes by her openness and authenticity. She even shared that she’s having quite a bit of sex, which really does blow the gasket in his Vulcan mind. He has no idea how to process this info. Ironically, her words are sort of a call back to his from The Great Game, when he’s having a hissy fit and tells John he’s not interested in the solar system, or who’s having sex with who. Molly’s having sex, Sherlock. Does it need mentioning that their romantic involvements have always mirrored one another, too?
Sherlock does find a way to get in another deliberate, but very subtle cock-block regarding Molly’s fiancé during John and Mary’s reception. Of course it bothered her, somewhat. She wasn’t devastated or traumatized over the fact that Sherlock just showed her, again, that her choice in men will always be woefully inadequate compared to him. She’s really rather proud of him in this episode, and swooning a bit.
Truthfully, both Molly and Sherlock have some version of brainiac jealousy / possessiveness going on, but still, Molly adores him, OPENLY, by the way. She’s not hiding it.
All of this gels to demonstrate that Molly’s emotional 180 in The Final Problem over saying ‘I love you’ is NOT because she’s been sitting around for seven years, crying in margaritas over this guy.
It’s about something else entirely. The timeline between TSoT and His Last Vow hold the answer. Something happened between them that came very close to destroying their relationship. Sherlock gives us a few clues in HLV. First, there’s this:
“How dare you throw away the beautiful gifts you were born with. And how dare you betray the love of your friends. Say you’re sorry!”
“Sorry you’re engagement’s over, although fairly grateful for the lack of a ring.”
Great dialogue! Especially if we’re looking through Sherlock’s eyes and know he’s been staying at her beautiful home, which we find out later on. This bit of info comes from Molly, when she breaks the fourth wall of television by interacting with viewers directly.
We can take Molly’s scolding of Sherlock at face value. He’s using (drugs) and by doing so letting down his friends and himself. Bad Sherlock.
I believe, however, this is more than chastising Sherlock for reckless behavior. The following, by the way, is about subtext, because that’s where we have to look and infer. Subtext, while a valid form of information, can be a dangerous little guy, because we project based upon our individual filters and desires. It’s important to keep this in mind when inferring possibilities.
I'm also not being dismissive of drug use, at all, but attempting to fill the blanks that currently hold cognitive dissonance based upon everything we’ve been show up until now. We went from HappyMolly and HappySherlock to ‘what-the-hell-is-going-on’?
Clearly, whatever it is, it’s origin lies in love and betrayal. And, other than in Sherlock’s mind palace after being shot – we only see Molly one more time, when she tells us about her bedroom as Sherlock’s bolt hole.
His Last Vow ends without any resolution between the two. Or so we believe.
But, I'll get back to this.
There’s head canons and fanfic to fill in the missing gaps of HLV, but The Abdominal Bride does a great job at summing things up in a nutshell.
This episode, in which Sherlock sets about solving 121 year old murder case from the Victorian era, is about the long-lasting consequences of using, objectifying, misleading, abusing, disparaging and basically the all around diminished and misogynistic treatment of women.  
There’s also quite a bit of symbology wrapped up in Sherlock’s psychedelic trip. He’s solving a crime from another century, but he’s still got his Scooby gang by his side. They’re all consistent with their modern, present day counterparts, filling the same functions and roles when Sherlock isn’t following Alice down the rabbit hole.
With the exception of Molly.
The role of a pathologist / medical examiner was not typically filled by a woman in this era. As a result, Molly has to be concealed as a man. Perfectly reasonable. What’s different, however, is the relationship between she and Sherlock. It’s cold, if not a bit derisory and bitter.
John’s role is interesting regarding Molly because it’s not John, but instead Sherlock’s projection. Victorian John tells ‘Dr Hooper’ that he’s not Sherlock’s puppy, that he can see through her disguise and sympathizes with what one has to do to be recognized in the world.
We can take that conversation at face value. It is what it is. But, maybe it’s worth considering that this might also be Sherlock’s conscience seeping through, imprinting itself on the state of affairs between he and Molly. In Sherlock's words, John is a "romantic" - he sees things Sherlock can't - so there is some validity with the idea that he might need John's 'eyes' to see his way through this. To see Molly past the façade of anger and self-protection. I'm sure there are other great interpretations.
From a symbolic perspective, TAB was Sherlock reconciling, or at least beginning to make amends to Molly (as well as other women he’s used: Janine).
Now is where speculation comes in regarding the timeline between TSoT, HLV and TAB.
Let’s say Sherlock was using Molly’s home as a bolt hole. Maybe not the first time, so he likes it, and it gives him the space and privacy to work on the Magnussen case. If this is true, it’s probably because it’s too complicated for him to work at Baker St, especially as he’s fake wooing Janine to get to her boss.
The other thing that’s taking place is that he’s using. How often and how much is unsure, but he did look pretty strung out at the hospital. And, when Sherlock uses, he’s a very different person.
Molly and Janine mirror one another, although Sherlock’s feelings, thoughts and opinions toward each are drastically different.
Dependent upon when Sherlock began using Molly’s home, if he’s using her home (he does have other bolt holes) – she might still be engaged to Tom. It’s conjecture, but she probably is. Sherlock tells John that he’s been fake dating Janine for a month, which means this started almost immediately after the wedding.
Realistically, I don’t think anyone expected the engagement between M/T to last, but it doesn’t mean Molly wasn’t sincere or didn’t love him. So, Sherlock’s presence and the use of her home – especially her bedroom, a space that implies intimacy - is bound to inflict some legitimate strain on a relationship that’s already falling apart.
Any number of scenarios could have played out. Tom might have given Molly an ultimatum? M/T might have decided to take a time-out? Guess away.  
Sherlock might be influencing Molly through subtle means to end her engagement. He might turn up the charm and possibly – in one way or another – woo her as well. Maybe lead her to believe something was possible between them? Which he might consider true, at some point. He doesn't want her with other men, but won't allow a proper resolution to their attraction. His use of drugs could make it easier for him to make those personality / conscience shifts necessary to do what he’s doing.
If this happened, and there’s nothing to say it did – just using TAB as a blueprint since Molly was included with the ‘brides’ – it really is unconscionable on his part. Although, and this is NOT in any way an excuse of his behavior – his superiority and arrogance did slap him hard - because he actually cares and loves Molly, so his potential motivations with her are very different than with Janine. Knowing this does not make it better or right. He’s taking drugs - he’s in ‘the Game Is On’ mode and not making good decisions.
Perhaps Molly found out about Janine and they had a chat? Yeah, it’s a bit soap opera-ish – but how else would Janine know Sherlock used her? John? Magnussen? She was very quick with her ‘for profit’ revenge plan. More than likely Magnussen told her…he enjoys the suffering of others.
However she found out, Molly would have confronted Sherlock. Sherlock might not have shown any remorse for using someone as a ‘means to an end’ (Janine), while attempting to deduce Molly by saying her LOVE for Tom was equally specious. He did say, during his best man speech, that “All emotions, and in particular love, stand opposed to the pure, cold reason I hold above all things.” We know this isn’t entirely true, and he knows it as well. But, if he attempted to make a point to Molly about her actions, as a parallel to his, all while HIGH, wow – it crashed and burned.
I'm not saying this is what happened. Just tossing out the idea. But, it does make the M/S hospital scene even more poignant. It’s their break-up fight.
If Sherlock did any of this, it would be hard to forgive. Molly would have to dig really deep inside her to make a journey back as his friend. Their relationship is fractured and rests on a precariously balanced fulcrum. Betrayal by love is a huge theme in His Last Vow.
There are two external events, which help pull them back into each other’s orbit.
Sherlock is shot. Sherlock murders Magnussen.
I'm sure this would help soften Molly, in as much as tragedy can put things into perspective very quickly. Being deeply wounded by someone you love doesn’t mean you stop loving them – although it’s possible. Maybe the time between being shot and killing Magnussen Sherlock made a sincere effort to make amends with her? I imagine he would, but their relationship has been severely strained and Molly keeps clear distance.
I'm really, really, really speculating on this one – but, maybe Mary reached out to Molly as someone to lean on? We never see these two interact (other than the christening) which is a shame. There is, however, an ever-so-slight seed that might suggest Mary’s involvement, which we got in TAB. Mary is the one who discovers the brides. And, Mary is put on the case by Mycroft. So, maybe Mycroft knows there’s been a fall-out. Again, sounds like a twisted sort of soap opera – but there’s some precedence for this, too.
Mycroft knows Molly. She was a the most significant person in TRF plan. We’ve also seen him request her assistance at the morgue prior to this (ASiB). Who knows. What we do know, is that when Sherlock uses and comes off drugs – Mycroft calls in as many resources as possible. If there is a fracture between Molly and Sherlock, it will be seen as a risk, which requires a fix. Mary could help with this. Furthermore, in TAB, Mycroft tells Sherlock this is a war (women) he (they) must lose. Meaning, Sherlock fucked up. Big time. He’s got to set it right.
Some headway is made, because the bride scene in TAB shows Sherlock acknowledging his mistakes and remorse. We then see where the relationship is left between M/S with two words: “Hooper / Holmes.”  
They can face each other, be in the same room, but it’s chilly.
Series 4 reflects this in Molly’s absence as well as her presence. But, she and Sherlock will continue to be pulled together through more external events.
They are Rosamund Watson’s godparents and on speaking terms.
They are also hit with a devastating, irretrievable blow: Mary’s death. This, along with profound grief, is enough to set aside any personal differences to come together and focus on the needs of others. Even though Sherlock takes himself to ‘hell and back.’
Molly speaks with Sherlock in TLD, and even acquiesces to his request for an ambulance. Molly does this on faith - she really doesn’t know what’s going on. There’s still an edge between them. He’s using, she’s stressed, he’s dying. She’s agreed to do her part in watching Sherlock through his withdrawal days, and meets he and John for birthday cake.
Concessions are being made.
Now we come to The Final Problem, where Molly is Sherlock’s third task. He has to get her to say I Love You, but their relationship remains somewhat perfunctory and cool. A lot of water has passed under their bridge and blind trust has not been established.
If anything remotely took place between them such as the above – whoa – it’s no surprise why this scene went down the way it did.
It also makes sense of Molly’s words: “Leave me alone.” “Why are you making fun of me?” “You know why.” “Of course you do.”
There’s two different events taking place that cause an intense emotional build-up and break-down between these two characters.
Molly is unable to push down her stress and sorrow any longer. It’s risen to the surface. There’s been too much, in a short amount of time, and something’s gotta give. We see her ignore Sherlock, which is an eye-opener for him, and even when she does answer her phone she’s direct and not interested in idle chit-chat.
Sherlock’s stress is mounting too. By virtue of Eurus’s game and the previous month’s events. He needs to ask something of Molly that he knows won’t be received well. Even if he tries to convince himself otherwise and feign ignorance.
It was a life or death moment from Sherlock’s perspective, but a ‘push come to shove’ for Molly. Both of them went through an emotional vivisection. Still, they said I love you and it was sincere and authentic.
At the end of that scene, however, neither one knows the consequences of this event. It’s not a happy moment, but instead filled with uncertainty and possibly more loss. Sherlock killed a coffin. Molly looks absolutely forlorn.
The ending montage is disappointingly neglectful of resolution. This is where the writers could have used a more creative latitude – more than .3 seconds of Molly’s happy smile. At least it was nice to get that, but gees, really?
If we’re looking at this from Sherlock’s point of view – Molly is happy. More than happy – she’s vibrant. Personally speaking, I can’t see any reason Molly would be presented this way had she and Sherlock not achieved some satisfactory relationship understanding regarding romantic love.
My heels aren’t dug in the sand regarding the above. I am truly open to other interpretations. For now, though, this was my exercise in explaining what wasn’t explained. She might be an insane murdering psychopath and brilliant beyond Newton, but Eurus was right when she said - context is everything.

Passerby here - in regards to Fate/Grand Order, the reason they don't explain stuff in detail is because they kind of already did? The Fuyuki prologue in the actual mobile game is a longer, more in-depth tutorial, while the anime is an hour-long film. They can't do EVERYTHING in the short time slot they have. Also, the "explanation on Servants" thing is something repeated in every adaption and spinoff and just gets very redundant after a while, so it getting cut is understandable.
Also, arguing that they HAVE to explain EVERYTHING for newbies within the short 1 hour time slot for the F/GO anime is nonsensical considering the setting of Fuyuki - everything and everyone in Fuyuki (such as the statue Medusa Lancer destroys) only has significance if you’re familiar with Fate/stay night proper, and explaining EVERYTHING would waste time, especially since the premise of “Chaldea has no idea what originally happened in Fuyuki” makes explanation impossible anyway. Basically, you’re treating the Fate/Grand Order anime like some sort of standalone story, when in reality it’s more like the Rogue One to Fate/stay night’s mainline Star Wars, or the Fantastic Beasts to Harry Potter. Even if it’s a spinoff, demanding that it explain everything all over again is pointless and would detract from the plot given the very limited timespan, especially when the premise IS so heavily based in past installments. I hope you understand my points here.
I perfectly understand your points, but please keep in mind that you are making the exact same points as your predecessor which I have already rebuffed politely by reiterating my points of debate.  I thank you for trying to state this case in more detail again, but my counter points remain solid and admittedly mired in my initial reactions to the material.  The strength of my initial negative reactions is what prompted me to write my post, and upon re-view of the film, my problems with its structure, choreography, and colour design remain.
If I may attempt to restate your points, trying hard not to make a strawman : 1. there’s more info on everything in the game, 2. there’s more explanation of everything in the rest of the Nasuverse media, 3. this is for fans who already know everything and trying to explain too much in a short one hour featurette would be wasteful, 4. this should absolutely not be viewed in a standalone manner.

4. this should absolutely not be viewed in a standalone manner.You bring up a comparison of Fate/ Grand Order to Rogue One and Fantastic Beasts.  Here is where I very much would like to make more comparisons, as I have seen those movies and their attendant series as well!  However, first it is important to keep in mind that whether one chooses to view a film as a standalone vehicle or as a chapter of a larger narrative is up to the individual viewer.  Yet, ask any good author or script editor and they will tell you that the internal story of a feature should hold itself as a standalone story with good arc structure.  While it’s true that Grand Order had a proper arc structure (problem, mysterious anomaly; action, fight to stop anomaly; resolution, bad guy temporarily wins, time to steel ourselves to do this again), I feel that it failed to present a story that an outsider could care about.
Honestly, Rogue One also failed to impress me as a standalone vehicle.  It was infinitely more pandering than Grand Order, although at least it didn’t leave too many questions unanswered.  Largely, it had more running time to establish its world, which Grand Order did not have.  What Rogue One had in common with Grand Order was a dearth of likeable protagonists.   At least the motivations of Rogue One’s antagonists are clear though, unlike R.E.O. Lev’s.
Fantastic Beasts actually worked as a standalone film.  Parts of it that connected directly to the Potter storyline [erhem, Grindelwald] were frankly its worst aspects.  Yet apart from that, the movie clearly established through its action and a bit of exposition the stakes of its world.  There are wizards and magical beasts and non-wizards, the wizards try to hide from the non-wizards, never the twin shall meet, and in America magical beasts are not allowed to run free in non-wizard areas.  The audience doesn’t have to know about rulings of the wizengamot or the history of wizarding in America to appreciate these in-story rules.  Magic is shown throughout the movie, and major magical plot points like the obscurial are explained, though not exactly perfectly.  But a bully attempt is made.  One can watch Fantastic Beasts without knowledge of the Potterverse and still follow its structure while appreciating its characters who are presented with definite emotional ties and stakes in the movie.  It’s not an outstanding movie, but it does very well to establish the basics of its world.
On the other hand, I maintain that Fate/ Grand Order failed to firmly establish the very basic internal rules that its world runs by either through exposition or onscreen action, preferring to hint at them, and that its characters were flat, especially the main character who could have been replaced with a soggy cardboard cutout for all it would have mattered. 
I understand that the main character of this movie is supposed to be an audience insert surrogate, and a standin for an in-game protagonist, but that’s honestly no excuse for having him be void of emotional reaction to anything in the world around him except Mash.  Mash is hurt?  Oh noes, she’s pretty and talked to me so I guess we’re dating and now I’m upset.  I’ve been transported to some techno-magic base? Oh well.  Everyone else here has died en masse?  Oh well.  Now I’m in the past and things are attacking me?  Oh well.  That girl just died? Oh well.  The guy who was nice to me turns out to be evil and he has some weird plan to do with wiping out the entire human race?  OH WELL.  I’m not asking for him to scream or anything, but the most proactive action he took in the entire movie to move the plot forward was to hold Mash’s hand in her climactic battle, and even then he did so blandly, not even a “ganbatte” or a “You mean a lot to me so don’t give up.”  Every other scene where he took an action, he had stumbled into that place or been pushed there by other characters or the plot at large.  The guy fell asleep during the one scene that would have explained shit to him and therefore us.  How are we supposed to like him as a protagonist?
In conclusion, I do indeed understand the points you laid out in your asks, but feel that I have previously responded to most of them.  Of the new concerns you bring up, my previous complaints about Fate/ Grand Order still hold sway.  And yet, I do not at all wish to say that people should feel bad for liking Fate/ Grand Order.  My stance is that I did not enjoy it, and it failed the rubric by which I was watching it.  You state that my rubric is flawed, and that is a fair enough criticism.  Please continue to enjoy the Fate/ universe and the Grand Order game.  I hope they all bring you lots of continued enjoyment in the coming year!
