pre-made smoothie bowls are a fucking lifesaver. Yeah, they're more expensive than some other frozen, 'pop in the oven' meals or just buying a frozen fruit mix and making the smoothie myself, but they 1) take all (and I mean all) of the mental blocks & spoon drains out of making a smoothie myself so I get the dopamine hit from eating a Frozen Fruit Thing without having to spend energy I don't have to maybe manage to make one from scratch, and 2) are still cheaper than ordering delivery, which is the alternative for low-spoon days (aka most days). The only downside is that I don't think I can bring them with me to work without them completely thawing out on the way and I don't want to know what that texture is going to be when it re-freezes

So for reference my mother has no professional training but she is big into food. Big as in when she moved into her current home it already had a large kitchen but she has now knocked down two walls and added four more granite counter tops. There are four ovens, three dishwashers, three stoves (one gas, one electric, and one wood burning) two toaster ovens, a dehydrator, a full size wall mounted .... I think it's called a pressure cooker? and this Christmas for her present she got part of one of the counters turned into a table sized skillet that can be heated via knobs on the wall. The kitchen is about half the house and she still doesnt have enough space for all the pans and artisan cooking things she has. She is also as skinny as the food reviewer of rattatouie and almost six feet tall which makes her look even thinner, hell if I know how.

Anyway so there used to be this place my parents would go to eat all the time. It was a hole in the wall with a route 66 aesthetic. The couches were made of repurposed tires and upholstered with green fabric, random road signs all over the place and an eclectic menu, borderlining on schitzophrenic, all delicious, or so my father claims. Now there was one thing my parents went there for specifically. Clam chowder.

We live in a desert so good seafood of any kind is close to impossible, but my mother absolutely loved the stuff. It also drove her nuts. You see like anyone who really likes to cook my mother had trained herself to distinguish ingredients by taste and generally if she likes something while she eats she writes down the ingredients and goes home and tests it out until she makes a close version of it with her own modifications. But this chowder defied her and while she had most of the ingredients pinned down there was a flavor she could not place. So they continued to eat there because she could not replicate it at home and was determined to figure it out.

So after about two years of this they go to the restaurant and order and the server tells them "oh the chowder? Better enjoy it while its here then folks, the chef is leaving and the chowder is one of his personal recipes. Only he knows it, and hes taking it with him. We wont have several of our items after next week."

My mom of course is devastated. She loves this chowder and still cant figure out the ingredient that brings it all together, so she looks at my dad and he tells me hes never seen her look so determined and tells the server. "If you get that recipe for me I will give you five hundred dollars as a tip." The server of course agrees immediately and leaves.

My parents enjoy their meal for another ten minutes or so when theres a commotion outside. Car alarms going off and people yelling, and the server returns grinning wide and holding a cup of seven up for my father with a napkin wrapped around it. "Heres your refill sir." He says and leaves. My dad was very confused since his cup was still full until he picked up the cup. Inside the napkin on receipt paper was the recipe hand written down.

They went back another night to ask the server how he got the recipe. The server told them the chef kept all his recipes in a big book that locked shut. He was the only one who had the key and whenever he was not referencing his recipes he kept it locked, he was very fastidious about this. He was also, apparently, a very big car fan and had an extremely nice European sports car of some kind.

The server asked a buddy to help him out. He waited for the chef to be using his recipe book, gave the friend the signal and then came in making a huge commotion about the chefs car being hit in the parking lot. The chef ran out to confront his buddy who had very lightly tapped his sports car and was making a deal about it to keep the chef out of the kitchen for as long as possible while the server scribbled down the recipe as fast as he possibly could until the server gave him the thumbs up and he suddenly apologized and gave the chef his information and drove off.

My mother still makes this chowder every Christmas for Christmas dinner. Its become a family tradition. She still has the recipe on receipt paper although she re wrote it down on something else because it was written very messily and the paper was stained with condensation. And I have to say it's the best chowder I have ever had even after going all up and down the coast and trying fresh chowder right off the docks.

and i help my sons build New Vegas and he is shilo and is surrounded now we moved several inlast night...and have foundations being built if we have to we move. one casino by s only we surround him.  and moved several in, about ten.   and it is huge each casino dwarfs Vegas Casinos which are vast, ours are ten times the size several million square feet each, about 50 thousand rooms each...tons of space no we have it now..the raili s almost done and lots paved tons of equipment...tons. and we see it is about the future... huge Casinos  and we speak to Hooters they are wiating.....he sits adn thinks...this always goes pop in my face.   we use thier girls in ours. they can go on the outskirts.  no Hardrock they took him for a ride too, we use it now...no to Hooters nope....stole it from our boy and used it on him lots and he hurts still..nah....we f you up too. we have a few in they want to knoow which Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and it is fully operational and you wear protective gear and enter and sign an agreement noswimming touching even w your gloves and so on y ou may veiw it remotely in the store, and movecameras and all. it is amazing most see it in the store and run to the line.  huge pieces of candy that are edible for aprice you may buy a piece or the whole thing andedible decorative pieces are for sale in thelobbytons of them all different shapes....a favorite the white swan...all candy and fluffy marshmellow mainly, but the kind at easter,and he says it...tons love it...huge ones too that are about the sizeof a giantpolar bear in the shape of men women and more even ofy ou.  tons do it and bring it to tier parties they hvae off campus or in rented rooms or halls tons of halls huge ones. and he will be offered candy bars by bg. tons.  each scanned so they wont let him no want him to and be dissapointed. he doesnt want to go to iether so ou watch ok. Kid Hotel  we named it that.  and it is for you s and your kids your kids now ok.  a baby lamb or soemthing yes.  goat.  and it has the track.  they check first and entered thier cars to be in the ride only a few were selected as were collectors items.  wie hadone.  and th two with him.  we knew....and they loaded up all collectors cars.  old new and the first off the line. tons willride moslty adults at firs to the kid hotel.
