If I ever draw again, Tarnfor's custom armor would combine the aesthetics of Istvan's Scaled Armor and Yura's Ronin Armor. He is, after all, a man who travels with practicality and comfort in mind. He still takes pride in his appearance nonetheless, making sure to take care of his gear and armaments. Otherwise, with his house in ruins and the Golden Lineage in decay, Gwynfor is a nameless knight.

I have given him the Scaled torso, Confessor's gauntlets, and Blaidd's greaves. However, I wish the Scaled torso was less formal looking and had a tattered shoulder scarf/cape like the Ronin torso. The scarf could even be thick and cover his face like his original Souls version, making his expression mostly unreadable. Istvan's armor provides better defense and poise than Yura's armor, though. Also, I more like the overall color scheme and the cute leather travelpacks attached at the waist.

Being a resident of Caelid, the packs contain a crucial supply of boluses to cure and stave off the Scarlet Rot. Though he has enough faith in game to use Flame Cleanse Me, I think he either cannot learn it or will not be able to learn it until he meets Miriel at the Church of Vows.

There are also dried sticks of jerky from various herbivores, mostly the boars and goats of Limgrave. Surprisingly, these are not really for Gwynfor himself. They are treats for the Dragonbarrow residents. For the knight himself, there are obviously his flasks as well as some dried apple slices and bread. Sometimes, he is fortunate enough to find cheese, but the moisture content of creamier cheeses means that his favorites quickly mold over when he returns to Caelid.

Mushrooms being abundant in the region, he has also considered trying them for sustenance, but their red ichor quickly spoils his appetite. He has taken some into his packs anyway, in the event that he could sell or trade them to any wandering perfumers or curious botanists.

Overall, despite his well armored and maybe even intimidating appearance, Gwynfor does not have much to offer thieves except for a good wallop. But if you would like to be friends, that would be another story.

OKAY BUT LIKE I feel you about the Vault thing because I did it recently on Carmen and I was an emotional mess again just like the first time and I cried just as much and it just HURTS. Also, I just got up to the end of the Dragonsong War and I'm an emotional wreck again. Heavensward man

You know it’s coming, you’ve seen it more than once, but that doesn’t make it easier when it happens in the context of PLAYING the story again. Even if I’m not super emotionally invested in the concept of Rhodry being there for any of this (I mean, besides WoL AU I guess) it hit just as hard.

Honestly it may have even been harder this time because I’m playing a healer. The feeling of “I could have done something” (regardless of how hopeless that is) is far greater. With Alyx I was in shock, I didn’t really feel anything until going back to the Manor.

But that never changes. Edmont is what makes me cry every time.
