and then honorary mention: it's an original song but it pays a lot with the melody/lyrics of a much much older song called Sloop John B. (AKA John B. Sails) which the Beach Boys actually did a cover of. Okkervil River in general makes a lot of references but this is one of my favs.

I just really like covers. I think they're so sweet and wonderful and human and full of art and all the good things that makes music amazing.
