i need to do screenshots of all fish/marine spp we see in black sails. ik theres at least 2 shots of fish being descaled - one during vane and teach's convo and one when hands is talking to silver. then theres the eels/hagfish - theyre so damn slimy i want them to be hagfish, i dont think eels are That slimy. and ofc the great whites - which i need to do a separate post on lmao. i have a LOT of thoughts. plus the whale but its p decomposed/not shown too well. so i doubt i could ID it - we dont see its mouth so all i can reliably say its that its of order cetacea lmao.

#theres what looks like real footage of great whites in the first episode and then you see em in one other establishing shot #and then we see em in s3e3 and then not ever again i think #also - strange to me they only have traps aboard the walrus but no line or hooks for fishing #i suppose trawling isnt possible when becalmed but HOW were they reaching bottom from the sargasso sea..#sargasso sea is open ocean - depths of 20000+ feet in some areas. EELS ARENT MIDWATER FISH #neither are hagfish which MUST have been what they were catching #regardless. im 1 semester away from a degree in fish - this knowledge i will use to make conjecture about black sails marine life👍#canis watches black sails
