Honestly really shocked ACOTAR5 hasn’t been announced yet. I know there’s still definitely time for it to be announced and still come out in the latter half of 2025 but part of me wonders if BB is going to just do a book every other year schedule for her. I think she could’ve finished the book but I could see them pushing it to early 2026 just so that her books have a consistent release timeline (as opposed to something like January 2024, September 2025, March 2027, November 2028…). They don’t lose out financially because their “years” end in February. Just a theory lol. I really hope we get news before the end of the year. I think SJM really has lost a lot of readers that won’t come back or will read quietly, I don’t think ACOTAR5 will be as big as we all anticipated honestly.

Hi, I (officially) found you through your Bridgerton fic ‘Faithfully’, and have recently realised that you are also a writer for ‘You Used To Live In My Head’. I just wanna say, your work is fantastic and I am respectfully and excitedly (but impatiently) awaiting the next chapter for ‘Faithfully’.

If it’s okay, I would like to ask a few questions about it if that’s okay (feel free not to answer any of them if you don’t feel like it).

Can I get a timeline on when the Simon/Daphne relationship will happen in the fic?

In relation to the previous question, will we get overprotective, and angry Anthony when he finds out? I think it could be a good avenue for angst, humour, fluff, or any combination of them, and I’m excited for what you do with it.

Will we get Sophie and her relationship with Benedict in the fic? I know you haven’t tagged them, but Benedict is my favourite of the show Bridgertons, and I consider his book to be quite the guilty pleasure (I’m also dying for Season 4 and really don’t want to wait til 2026 to get it so I’m trying to get my Benophie fix wherever I can)

Ohhh Faithfully, my sweet baby Faithfully which started bc of one scene in the end that I've yet to write and it was supposed to be a purely super sweet and fluffy story with 3 or 4 chapters and now it's not only VERY MUCH NOT 3 or 4 chapters long, it's also one of the two stories I actually truly cried writing bc I keep filling it with Angsty moments lol

1- There's still a little bit to go before we get there, actually. In the fic, they get together in the 1st of Feb 2020 and so far it's around August 2018 in the story.

2- Ohhh yes, we'll have SOME drama over this. Anthony finds out about it some months after they get together and honestly, it's a miracle the band is still going on after all the bullshit those guys go through lol

3- Unfortunately, Benophie is not very much into the plans in this story, apart from the last, epiloguish chapter. The idea is for the story to go up to Ned being born, then have this epilogue in the Grammies (will make sense in a couple of chapters, I swear) which will be set a couple of years later, so Ben and Sophie will already be together, or at least tentatively so.

3- No one is joining Aubrey Hall other than the three original members. Eloise owns a music shop and teaches percussion (which is how she meets her plant daddy and his plant little hellions) and Frannie does go into music, but as a solo artist who collaborated with Aubrey Hall a few times, even if they have pretty different musical styles. Hyacinth goes into agencing to work with Lady Danbury and the other siblings follow their own different career paths.

4- I haven't MUCH written forward apart from the two next chapters but I'll show you a bit of Newton coming into Anthony's life, will that do? rs

I definitely think more content is coming! @mythical-mishmash-blog posted on twitter about a Layla book that comes out next March (spotted on Amazon I believe?), and the last two books for Sophia and Isabel also came at the same time as their content drops. So I think that's the closest we have for now to a soft confirmation of more content, plus Spinmaster has mentioned that they will have content releases going into 2025. There's some kind of weird rumor going around on reddit that there's no more content coming but I don't believe that's true and the screenshot floating around there didn't seem to have a source linked.

I've posted about it before (rly long time ago tho) but a casting call recently went out for new Unicorn Academy characters, a bubbly boy named Ali and a sassy superstar girl named Ivy. With the details I could find from the audition material, it seems like Ivy is a fairly similar character to Valentina so I wonder how that would work, or if this is a totally new set of characters? It would be cool if there was overlap of sophomore/freshman characters so we could have both new stories and continued stories happening at the same time. I didn’t even consider the possibility of overlap until you brought it up! I have a feeling that we will get Layla focused content in March, but sometime in maybe 2026 we might get the Ali/Ivy content? (Just a shot in the dark for Ali/Ivy, I’m only guessing that cuz animation production takes a while lol)

As for Miles, I believe it's mentioned in the first special that he just returned 5 years ago to help protect the academy, not as an actual student attending there. The math just isn't mathing overwise LOL. I’d guess he’s probably in his 40s

I'm so happy with how "Nancy Drew" ended!!! :D I know the last couple episodes of the final season had us worried about it but the writers pulled it off and gave us a good ending. All the characters got new paths but are still connected and I love that Nancy said all 4 of them were her soul mates as our true friends are platonic soulmates. But of course I'm also so happy that Nancy and Ace did work their way back together, broke the curse, and are finally happily together!!! :D I knew they would find a way somehow so I can forgive it being a bit rushed. LOL I'm also happy for Carson and his girlfriend having their new baby and Nancy getting the baby sister she always wanted, and Ryan's happy too with his relationship and finding supernatural things. They even brought back Tom Swift with Nick going to work for him.

Then of course I'm also so happy we finally got confirmation that Ace is Joe Hardy!!! :D The show finally showed his initials are AH and the writers mentioned in TVLine's interview last night that the character he really is they planned the whole time but didn't have the rights to use his name because of Hulu having the rights to "The Hardy Boys" at the time. But we all figured it out thanks to his personality, his parents and their jobs, him having an older brother, and the hair. LOL So for us Nancy & Joe shippers we can actually count this as the first adaptation that finally put them together in a romantic relationship and they ended up together!!! :D I've shipped them since my parents introduced me to the 70s TV show and being shocked Nancy normally has a relationship with Frank usually as to me her and Frank were so similar and Frank's got his own girlfriend with Callie Shaw, while Joe was right there and clearly had a crush on her. LOL And with this show we finally got that and to show they do work together as a couple too.

I'm going to miss this show but at the same time I'm ready for whatever adaptations come next. "The Hardy Boys" books started going into the public domain this year and "Nancy Drew" starts in 2026, so we're going to get a lot more coming especially as novels first. It'll probably be similar to "Sherlock Holmes" and so many to choose from but excited for these new stories but we'll always have this adaptation too. :)

Resolution Look Back 2024.

Jeez Luise, 2024. What a year that I yet have to find the words for.

Let's start with the annual look back at the resolutions I made the end of last year to see how it turned out, before I go into any more detail lol.

Here's what we hoped for (spoiler alert):

above all: health. I am praying for all of us to stay healthy during this new year, especially my mom. I already know she most likely will be in the hospital again due to her belly but I want nothing more than for her to come out of it healthy and happy and for her to be able to live her life for many more years to come. I hope my husband gets rid of his panic attacks for good this year and that I will be able to get pregnant and have a healthy and perfect pregnancy be the end of the next year :)

Well... apparently we're starting with the biggest one. My momma did end up in the hospital 3 times this year. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later but by the beginning of this year, I did not think she would pass away before Christmas :( My husband did get rid of his panic attacks mostly - not for good, but definitely loads better than last year. I was able to get pregnant right away which is a crazy blessing looking back now - still pregnant and healthy and perfectly going despite everything that has been going on! Everyone else stayed healthy throughout the year but my mom's passing surely has everyone thrown off.

Wishing for hubby to kick off his energy firm and for him to make as much money for me and him not to worry about the big ass chunk he just spent on it this year haha

He did! Started his own firm in July and is going strong :) Lots and lots less worries about financials, that's for sure lol

Hoping for at least one more contract with the university for me to work as a teacher

Yes! Got a raise, even took on two courses one Semester which was wild but manageable and loved doing it - thinking about doing it full time for a few months in 2026!

Vacation with my family: Hopefully we get to organize another family cruise vacation and for all of us to go on yet another amazing trip again :)

We did get it organized and booked and went to Norway on the MSC Cruise my brother, his kids and my husband and I. My mom was unfortunately not fit enough and my prefereed brother did not want to join which dampened the experience a lot and I don't think we will do it again tbh haha

Play lots and lots of tennis and finally join a team to compete

Did! :) It was AMAZING, won every single one of my singles and improved so much. It was a lot of fun playing competitively on a team and again and cannot wait for the next season to start.

Have a grand old time skiing in Austria with lots of games and hanging out with our friends

Update: Aang movie is first now in schedule shuffle!

Paramount and Avatar Studios’ slate of animated Avatar movies coming to theaters: Kyoshi (2024), Zuko (2025), Korra (2026)

It’s the post you’ve all been waiting for. I’ve finally compiled, confirmed, and cross-referenced enough sources to feel confident in posting what Avatar Studios’ first three movies are about, in what order, and (with a big grain of salt, okay?) when they’re coming.

You might be aware that there’s been a flurry of Avatar Studios news out of the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in the last few days-- they revealed that three movies are actively in the works right now, they confirmed my report on the director of the first movie, and they showed the first teaser for it to the press in attendance.

Let’s tackle that teaser first. After checking with a couple of sources who were in attendance, we’re pretty sure that what was shown was General Fong’s fortress, which was first visited by Aang and the Gaang in Avatar: The Last Airbender Book Two: Earth, Chapter One: The Avatar State.

It was either this exact clip/screencaps from the original, or something very similar. That visual was followed by text saying “the Avatar returns” (a popular tagline these days) and the earthbending symbol. Which brings us to...

The first animated movie coming from Avatar Studios is the prequel I reported on before, and it’s a “prequel” because it stars the most recent earth Avatar before Aang and Korra: Avatar Kyoshi.

Next, I can confirm that the second movie will be the one I exclusively revealed last month: a story focused on Fire Lord Zuko.

Lastly, and this is a brand-new reveal, the third movie is set in the era of Avatar Korra, after the end of the animated series.

I should note that these are all very high-level descriptions, for example I don’t know the exact focus of the Korra era movie, although I’d personally be willing to bet it will be Korra herself. But ultimately, I guess I should put a disclaimer that I don’t know that level of detail, except for the specific case of the Zuko movie being about Zuko himself. Technically, I don’t know that the Kyoshi movie will “star” her, but I can’t really imagine it won’t, you know?

AS FOR THE DATES. I debated whether to put them or not, but I decided to make things spicy and go for it this time. I want to make it clear that these are NOT my estimates, they are legit info cross-referenced from at least two sources, but...... it’s really early info subject to change and not meant to be any sort of commitment from anyone. I just figured that by the time we get to these years, no one will remember this post. 😂 Release dates could shift around as they almost always do in this day and age, but it’s just because that’s a natural thing that happens. So with all that being said, you can very vaguely look forward to animated Avatar movies coming to theaters once a year starting in 2024, with the first three being:

Kyoshi (2024)

Zuko (2025)

Korra (2026)

(Obviously those are not the movies’ titles.)

This next part is my estimate: I would personally expect LATE 2024 for the first one. Again, it’s super early. As for the rest: again, big grain of salt. As production goes on, maybe they’ll decide they want to do every two years instead, or any number of things that could lead to the slate changing.

It’s just really important to understand that this is just a snapshot of Avatar Studios’ CURRENT plans-- their NOT announced, NOT confirmed plans. I wouldn’t announce or confirm anything this early either, and there’s a good reason they aren’t-- they haven’t even revealed their first ever movie yet, much less committing to a slate. So please keep all that context in mind; don’t expect them to reveal anything about any Korra movie any time soon-- there are two movies before that that probably won’t even reveal anything any time soon. That being said, this is legit info and not just speculation/guessing, and it also might NOT change. I think release dates are honestly highly likely to change, but I don’t think it would be unlikely if the three high-level concepts of Kyoshi/Zuko/Korra stay the same. Assuming my sources are correct about those in the first place of course. :)

The start of Western Illinois’ NCAA tournament run in Year 20, continued

We pick up with the Leathernecks facing No. 5 Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA tournament in our College Hoops 2K8 sim.

Welcome back to our simulated dynasty with the Western Illinois Leathernecks in College Hoops 2K8. You can find a full explanation of this project + spoiler-free links to previous seasons here. Check out the introduction to this series from early April for full context. As a reminder, I simulate every game in this series (even the ones we watch on Twitch) and only handle the recruiting and coaching strategies.

We pick up with Western Illinois in the first round of the 2027 NCAA tournament. Here’s a recap of everything that has happened so far this season:

Western Illinois entered the season seeking redemption after losing to Cal in the first round of the NCAA tournament last year. We began the new season rated as a 96 overall with three new starters. We went 3-6 against a difficult non-conference schedule before sweeping the Summit League and again capturing the conference tournament championship.

We enter the tournament as a No. 12 seed. Our opponent in the first round is No. 5 seed Minnesota.

We recruited for one scholarship and are in position to land five-star JUCO shooting guard Edwin Wolfe in the spring.

READ: Western Illinois, Year 20, 2026-2027

Here’s a look at our roster heading into the 2027 NCAA tournament:

Not going to lie, there’s some real pressure heading into this tournament run in my 20th season as head coach at Western Illinois. We saw our season end in the Elite Eight in Year 16, Year 17, and Year 18. We lost in the first round last season. While I already have a strong case as the greatest mid-major coach in college basketball history, we all know this is a “what have you done for me lately” culture. It will be so hard to face the fanbase if we bow out early again.

Unfortunately, our shaky non-conference slate means we got a raw deal by the selection committee. It’s going to be a tough road through the bracket for us as a No. 12 seed, and it starts against a talented Minnesota team. Both teams enter the game rated as a 98 overall.

Minnesota is real good — you can check out the Golden Gophers’ roster here. Their senior shooting guard Carlos Klatsky is rated as a 95 overall — only four players are rated higher entering the tournament — and he’s matched up against our redshirt freshman Mathew Alloway. Their front court is stacked. Their five best players are either juniors or seniors. I am expecting this to be tough as hell.

The one thing giving me confidence is how we performed in the regular season against No. 1 Louisville in a game we watched together on Twitch. We gave the Cards all they could handle in a true road game before losing in the end. I love our inside-outside combination with senior small forward Wilky Henry and junior power forward Allan Cunningham. I trust our guards more than I did last year. While we have struggled in quick sim games, the pieces on this squad fit together better when we watch full games together on Twitch, I think. We need to take care of the ball, dominate the glass, and hopefully get a stellar performance from Henry as our go-to option on the perimeter.

We streamed this game on Twitch on Sunday night. As always, I’m not controlling Western Illinois; we’re watching a simulated game played by the computer. I’m not playing any of the games in this series, I only do the recruiting and set the coaching strategies. We did do something new this year, though: for the first time, I’m allowing myself to make in-game substitutions. Why not? There’s too much pressure to let poor rotation choices cost us.

Win, 89-72! We’re onto the round of 32 where we will face No. 4 seed Ole Miss.

“SECOND HALF TEAM” has become a rallying cry for our Leathernecks during the Twitch chat, and it paid off once again. Thank the heavens, because that first half was tense. Our defense looked good, but Minnesota was still matching baskets with us the entire way. We couldn’t get anything going from three-point range early. I was wondering who was going to step up to be the hero, but instead the whole team pretty much raised its level of play in the second half.

A few shout-outs:

Wilky Henry was outstanding — he was up to 24 points on the night when we pulled the starters with about five minutes remaining. Henry didn’t do anything in our first round tournament loss to Cal last year (7 points in 33 minutes), so it was great to see him splashing threes and using his size (6’8, 240+ pounds) to bully people at the rim. That is exactly the type of performance we need out of him to keep winning.

Allan Cunningham is simply an all-time Stream Team performer. Dude is so big (6’11, 290 pounds) but still so graceful, and has three-point touch to match. For all the praise we give Ham — read our beat writer Matthew Morrow on Cunningham coming into the season — we often overlook his passing ability. Not anymore: Ham was dropping dimes like a vintage Chris Webber in this one, beating constant double-teams in the second half by kicking out to open shooters. Beautiful stuff.

Our center Pat Giddens has been generally maligned by the fanbase for being too short (6’9) and too overweight (close to 300 pounds), but he’s also the highest rated junior in the NCAA tournament. I was waiting for his production to match his ratings, and it finally happened. Giddens looks formidable offensively and held his own protecting the rim. Good stuff — we need more of that is we want to keep winning.

We need Cunningham and Giddens to eat inside. Waiting for us in the Sweet 16 would be a matchup with top-seeded Dayton, who are led by junior big man Matt Boswell, the player we created for the first-ever winner of our bracket contest. That would be such a fun game.

We just witnessed the best NCAA tournament performance in program history. Wilky Henry, have yourself a day!

Here’s what I wrote about Henry at the start of the season: “Henry needs to be a superstar this year for this team to play up to its potential.” It happened in an epic way, and we’re going to the Sweet 16 because of it. Henry was absolutely unconscious, pouring in 46 points on 10-of-16 shooting from three-point range. He shattered the program’s previous tournament scoring record of 34 points set by Kim Kone in Year 17.
