Im reading the king must die rn upon tumblr recommendation and i cannot figure out my feelings on it. did anyone else read it what were ur vibes
#it did make me realize how there are so many threads (haha) that make up fairly well known folklore/myths#like to know the theseus story i also hadto know the mintoaur story at some pt#and then theres theseus’ fights with various big bads like the pine tree stretcher dude#and then icarus crosses into that via labyrinth of course#and ariadne& dionysus as another offshoot etc#overall tho. i think im intrigued by reading a myth adaptation that isnt bad YA but i honestly have no clue about how historically accurate#some of the stuff is and i feel like if its not accurate some of its sus as fuck for someome to be making up idk#like. sometimes im wondering if these are supposed to be historical perspectives or its just from being written in fifties#i do like how the incorporation of godly signs and such is so smoothly incorporated like u can really see how someone would be following#this in their daily life beyond like big rituals and myths we know now
